Tampa area BCO sisters get togethers

I have no driving restriction, so if you don't mind a lopsided attendee I might be able to make it. Will have to play it by ear. We should maybe send a PM to Sandra, she will be in the area I think and maybe she could come too? I think she said she would be here by the end of the weekend.
MondaysChild - I have waaaayyy too much experience, lol!
-
SpecialK, Sounds like you are doing OK
. Now just heal up really quick.
I wish I could make it Tues nite to join the party but I'm going to have to wait for the next Saturday get together. Has anyone thought about a date?
-
Lee7, we will work on dates. Maybe June 14 or 21?
-
SpecialK, I hope you are doing well this morning. Good vibes your way for a pain free recovery.
-
SpecialK - Hope you are doing well after the surgery!
-
Hello! I am doing just fine. No pain except for the drain, but I am already under 30 for a 24-hour period so it will go at my post-op. Thank you all for the good wishes!
-
SpecialK- hooray, it sounds like things are going well this time. No allergic reactions, right? Hope you will have a speedy recovery so you can get out and get walking before the humidity really sets in.
Mondays Child, either of those dates June 14 or 21 sound good to me. Let's plan something relaxing and fun!
-
lee7 - no allergic reactions this time. I was very direct about what to avoid, lol!
I am also good with the dates.
-
If you all do the 21st I might be able to make it - I think the 14th might be tough as my chemo is on the 10th and that first weekend seems to be my bad days. I will check back and see what the plan it.
-
I looked at a calendar and realized the weekend of the 14-15 is Father's Day and I'll be away, so the 21st is a better day for me too.
Linda505, I hope you will feel well enough after the chemo to travel. Would you have someone to drive with? I guess you'd need to know the date first....
Hopefully the other ladies will be checking on this thread soon and maybe we can get something planned. I'm sitting on my lanai, and it sure feels like summer is here.
-
I did not think about Father's Day weekend. Looks like June 21st will work best.
Last June we gathered at my house. I'd be happy to do that again, or we can do Cheesecake Factory. What is the preference?
-
Hi Lee - yes - my hubby could drive me up and then go visit his son who live up there also. I am hoping I will be good - would love to meet as many of you as possible - I did get to meet SpecialK at Moffitt when I went there for a 2nd opinion and that was so great - was such a help just to talk to someone who understood how my brain was working.
-
Hi all,
DH is out of Country for two weeks so Tuesday isn't the best for me.
SpecialK, praying for a "Healing" after this surgery.
Miss you all,

Mondays Child, I'm up for Tuesday evening! As for June 21st, I'm in short of some problem popping up.

Hi All, I saw this thread blowing up so had to check in. Special K I'm so concerned and sorry to hear about all you've been through! Sending good thoughts your way!
I've started lots of trips to Moffitt as my dad is having a stem cell transplant there. I'm a little exhausted from all the traveling to attend the meetup tonight, but put me down as a definite for the 21st barring any problems with my father! I haven't been to meetup in a year I think, so looking forward to seeing all of you! AMERON!
-
ameron - thanks for the good wishes! Sorry to hear that you are going back and forth to Moffitt, but hopefully they can do some good for your dad. If you need anything at times you are there please remember that I am only a few miles right down Bruce B. Downs, and can come over if you need anything! Even if you just want to chat over a coffee, don't hesitate!
-
Yay, The list is growing for the 21 st! Nbnotes, Ameron it's great you can both make it! AnnAlive, I think you need to reschedule your trip.
Has anyone heard from FlWarrior? If we keep this thread active hopefully everyone will see it.

We arrived in St. Petersburg on Saturday the 10th, a day early. I tweaked my back leaning over to put on my jeans on Wednesday a.m. the 7th, just before we left San Antonio. A couple of days in the car didn't help so our swimming with the manatee excursion in Crystal River had to be scrapped along with several other more active things on our list. We've been at the beach - about 10 minutes max away from the house - every day and hitting different restaurants. This morning our #2 daughter, Stephanie, had her graduation exercises. Daughter #1, Allison, flew in from Chicago. We had a celebration lunch, then home to "veg." Tomorrow we will probably see a few of the things on the "to do" list. Thursday we're driving to see my maid of honor in Avon Park, whom I haven't seen since we got married 44 years ago. Friday I think we're going to Sarasota and maybe down to Ft. Myers. If my back doesn't let up soon, we may head back home Saturday or Sunday. Sorry we couldn't get a group together. It's hard when everyone has their schedules, work, and family to work around. Maybe next time.
-
sandra4611-Horrible timing to hurt your back right before vacation! It sure sounds like you are making the best of it and having a wonderful time with your daughters and your friend. The weather this weekend is beautiful not too hot &muggy, so a drive down the coast would be a treat. Hope you've enjoyed Florida.
