So, if donor monies are going to support the conservative/TP PACS and not the GOP/TP candidates, well, to quote Martha Stewart "That's a good thing"!
I seem to recall reading that Klondike Kardashian's SarahPAC took in over a million bucks last year and only donated $5K to one candidate. I guess the rest went to her writer, her publicist, her accountant, her lawyer, and her family -- not to mention herself.

RL - washpost has a geat article about how the TundraTart is TOAST, done, gone, over ( ovah!)

wouldnt that be luvly!! Sparkle moose a person of the past.
In regards to the upcoming twins... most probably they are identical, as that is what other twins in the family are. Most are girls, but I'm still rooting for boys.

So... while in Hawaii we nought a condo. The next few winters are going to be WARM.

-
Gumby,
I'm so happy for you about the condo in HI. Can I ask where? Mostly likely the Big Island!
Great news on the twins. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a pair of boys.
hugs,
Bren

GG...you are having a wonderful spring! Congrats all around!

Something I read the other day and I was thinking wth is up with that......now I know. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/04/26/1294819/-George-Carlin-Quote-Bastardized-on-Facebook-by-Heartland-Institute
George Carlin's daughter was not too happy either and I don't blame her one bit.
RL....I had read both of those pieces as well. I think I read a while back that her 20 mins. or so of fame is, like Sunny said, about up. One or two stupid things could maybe be overlooked and help you make a point or two, but seems every time she opens her mouth idiocy just drips out constantly. Her prime flattened out some time back and is no longer retrievable. Good riddance to bad rubbish as they say.

GG.....congrats on the new condo. You did say you were sending me the address, didn't you. Sometimes life is just a bowl of cherries isn't it ??? Or, in the words of an Illinois artist...Mary Englebright -- Life is just a chair of bowlies.
Whatever.....just happy for you. Since we are having a nice warm Spring here......spending winter in HI doesn't sound all that, but come this winter when I'm dragging my old patootie through the snow....I'll be singing a different tune. Quite loud I'm sure.

Hello ladies,
Can I jump back in again after a long, long absence? Life got pretty crazy for me for a while, but I miss everyone.

Welcome back Sunny!

Welcome home, Sandy! We kept your seat warm for you - scoot up your chair and dive right in! Hope your life is calmer and you are well and happy.

Thanks so much Libby and Blue. We have moved about 4 hours away from Boulder to a little college and ski town for hubby's job. Very scenic but not ideal for someone with lung problems which is what I have. And it is snowing outside - the end of April. But onward and upward. So nice to "see" you all again. I look forward to seeing your nice pics Blue.

Waving at you Sandy. Snow, you say?

The right-wing talking head is at it again. Sarah Palin, who recently made comments at the NRA’s annual meeting saying water-boarding is how we “baptize terrorists,”respondedVia her Facebookto clear up the controversy of her asinine comments. And she isn’t backing down (shame, she did so as Governor):
“Actions to stop terrorists who’d utterly annihilate America and delight in massacring our innocent children? Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including water-boarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network. If you want to talk about what really harms our troops, let’s talk about politicians who gut our military’s budgets, or a president whose skewed budgetary priorities slash military benefits, or an administration that puts our vets on endless waiting lists for care that comes too late to help those who’ve paid the price for our freedom, or those who break bread with those who think it makes no difference how our military heroes died in Benghazi or anywhere else trying to protect America. Those actions are a heck of a lot more harmful than declaring an appropriate message our enemies should receive. If someoverly sensitive wusses took offense, remember the First Amendment doesn’t give you a right not to be offended. Perhaps hypocritical folks who only want Freedom of Speech to apply to those who agree with their liberal agenda might want to consider that the evil terrorists who were the brunt of my one-liner would be the first to strip away ALL our rights if given the chance. That’s why we do whatever we can to prevent them from killing innocent people. And for that, we should NEVER apologize. Good Lord, critics… buck up or stay in the truck. And if you love freedom, thank our troops! Thank our vets! And thank those who have the brains to support them and the guts to defend what they have earned!” – Sarah Palin
She then donned a photo of American flag-draped coffins, with the caption “For those who will never feel their homeland beneath their feet again, we salute you. God bless you.”
Sarah, I am so glad you said it! You finally said something right! Yes, let’s talk about the politicians who gut our “military’s budget.” If you want to know who the politicians are that are cutting our military’s budget, look no further than your Republican counterparts who let the Fiscal Cliff reigndown on us in 2012, which automatically cut $500 billion and an additional $487 billion due to the 2011 Budget Control Act. If you don’t want the nation’s already bloated military budget to be cut, maybe you should stop putting up a front for the GOP.
Moving on, let’s talk about the “president whose skewed budgetary priorities” that has “slash(ed) military benefits.” Not surprisingly, you’re dead wrong again, and your empty little head can’t even do a friggen’ Google search on the issue. It’s just one click away, you dunce!Remember the president’s $140 billion request for FY2013 for veterans services, which was more than double what it was in 1980, when the veterans population was a third larger than it is today? Did that slip your mind? Also, remember howPresident Barack Obama proposed a 10 percent funding bumpfor the Department of Veterans Affairs for the 2014 fiscal year. That’s a budget of over $152.7 billion dollars. He may have “skewed” budgetary policies, but the Department of Veteran’s Affairs isn’t suffering.
And did it slip your mind that Republicans filibustered the Veterans Jobs Bill in 2012, a bill that would have created jobs for up to 20,000 veterans, was blocked on a procedural point, arguing that the bill was unpaid for (aw yes, I forgot, they love to offset the costs) even though it was paid for. Thanks for giving them the jobs you people have been promising all of us).
So Sarah, it IS the liberals who thank the troops. It IS the liberals who thank the vets. We’re the only ones who actually care about them!
And FYI Governor, the “liberal wussies” that won us World War IIvehemently prosecuted those who took part in water-boarding.The United States (still under control of a Democratic House, Senate and presidency) participated in the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, generally called the Tokyo War Crimes Trials. America saw to it that leading members of Japan’s military and government elite were charged, among their many other crimes, with torturing Allied military personnel and civilians. Their biggest crime? What is now called water-boarding.
Yet again, Sarah Palin takes to her Facebook, to the mainstream, without knowing a single fact that can back up her claim. She shows the utmost ignorance, but knows full well that if she mentions Benghazi, that will be enough to keep the raging Tea Bagger’s mouths foam, and give her the unjust support she seems to have mustered up.
Who is it that lets this twit loose. Then again.....maybe no one cares that she has no facts because ultimately she is such a loser.
She shouldn't be out by herself though, thats for sure.
Jackie

Welcome back, sunny!

Hi, sandy...hope you are learning to like the new place. Can't imagine being at that altitude with ling problems. I've got residual bronchial scarring from a bad case of flu, then bronchitis, trying all sorts of meds, great new doc, but it's a BORE. Hope your issues can be healed too...the last resort for me seems to be a course of Prednisone (sp?) an I'm doing everything to try to avoid it.
GG - new condo in Hawaii, TWINS, YEAH, YEAH...sounds fantastic....warm winters, ahhhhhh....heck, I'd give a lot for a warm Spring. Below freezing at night, high 40's in day, is NOT Spring. The calendar is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Love that gussy cross the Sparkly Moose is wearing, crass. ( snark the love part

Hi Sandy!
So glad to see you're back. I know you've had a tough go of it lately and I hope you can get some relief with your breathing problems. Please don't be a stranger ... we missed you!
Enjoyful ... She does have great hair. But that's all. Oh, and when the Republicans were dressing her she looked pretty sharp. She had on a great suit for the Republican convention.
We had some very big thunder/lightning/sideways rain storms last night. My dogs were going crazy. They kept me up much of the night. Going to have to shut them out of the bedroom tonight, as more storms are in the forecast for today and tomorrow. The problem is, even with the bedroom door latched tight, Tank can still head-butt it open! The sound of their nails on the hardwood floor was driving me nuts all night. Then there was the heaving breathing and trying to get me out of bed to save them from the storm.
I swear, this has been the longest winter I can remember here in the past 8 years. Sunnyflowers ... I guess I shouldn't complain ... geez ... you win the prize for the longest winters ever.
Hope everyone has a good day.
hugs,
Bren

Waving hi from Vermont. Sun, know what you mean about long winters. We've been here for almost a week and it's been cold every day. Until today. Today the sun is shining, the air feels like spring.
On Palin: I know she's an idiot. What bothers me is how many people cheer for her idiotic statements.
-
We're supposed to get 3-5 " of rain over the next 2-3 days. Lucky for me, I'll be in Boston!
I'm back to riding Sampson. So nice to be back in the saddle again!
-
Enjoyful .. we're under flood warnings as well. You're a bit closer to the coast than I am and the eastern seaboard was supposed to get the brunt of this. Glad to hear you're riding again. It's been a long wait while your shoulder healed. Are you having scans in Boston or is this a regular monthly check-in?
Alexandria ... you're up near Sunnyflowers ... have your daffodils even started to bloom up there?
hugs,
Bren
-
Scans, blood work, and physical exam. The whole works.
-
E- body contorted for luck.
Bren - daffodils are coming up, but not much else.
-
It's raining and quite breezy here in Niagara -- April showers...May flowers. Waiting for the tulips to bloom. The magnolias are about to burst forth. There is something to be said for a late spring: two years ago, we had a burst of warm weather in March and the magnolias bloomed early. Two days later, after a surprising hard frost, all the blossoms turned a nasty brown. So, lesson learned: Be careful what we wish for!!!
Sunny, happy to have you back with us! GG -- a condo in Hawaii sounds heavenly! Haven't been to the islands since 1973 and I envy your new patch of paradise!
Enjoyful, such good news that you're back in the saddle again, tra-la! Good luck in Boston
And to all in the path of these horrible nasty storms -- Be safe!
-
-
Okay then Enjoyful ... we'll be there with you together in Boston and hoping for great scan results!! Will you get the results while you're there?
hugs,
Bren
-
I should, Bren. I'll post the results here as soon as I can.
-
And THEY will be BORING!
