What kind of bird?
-
it is a insect catching bird
-
Maybe, like the eastern phoebe!
-
or the black phoebe but it just looks brown. He is a long way from the east coast
-
They are building a mud nest under our roof.
-
The eastern phoebe loves to build a mud-and-grass nest under a roof.
Sweet bird!!
-
It's a Say's phoebe. They nest on the west coast from Mexico to Alaska.
Nice shots as usual!

As usual, I so love and enjoy all the photos. The peacock made me smile as last year in Jamaica a male peacock would not let me leave a restaurant. Had his tail on display and everywhere I tried to go, he stood in front of me to show off. It was so funny. I finally just sat back down and enjoyed his show. He eventually moved on.

-
different views...without the tail open
-
Such lovely colors!
-
check out today's google home page...really cool

This is a photo of an american woodcock taken from on-line.
I've seen in the front yard and heard in the backyard a male this week!
-
wow. I have never seen one of those
-
I love to listen to the male mating song at dusk!
-
I've startled a couple of them over the years in my woods. They blend very well into the leaf litter in the forest. They sit very still until you are almost on top of them and then BLAM! They fly straight up in the air like a rocket and make a shrill sound as they fly away. It is quite startling!
Very pretty birds!
-
We do love birds!
-
The kakapo (night parrot), also called owl parrot, is a large, flightless, nocturnal, ground-dwelling parrot native to New Zealand.
Photo taken from on-line. I love this bird ;o)
