I'm grateful that my son will have a new experience this week. He's going with his girlfriends family to Florida, fishing. That's a first for him, he's college age, and I know it's time, but I do find comfort in the fact her parents will be there. My brain says time to let go, he's not a kid anymore, but my heart screams noooo.

    Day #97

Today I am grateful for slightly warmer temps yesterday and today. The snow banks are finally down to where I can see over them and don't have to exit my driveway blindly.

Tonight my 14 year old daughter went to my hot yoga class with me. It is so much fun to have her there, and I hope that she is learning ways to calm herself so that when she finds herself in a stressful situation in the future, she has some coping tools.

I am so far behind!  Lets just say that I am grateful for the fact that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west and that I am here to see it each day.

grateful for a very honest cashier at Smart and Final, stopped there to pick up a few things paid with cash, counted out the exact money then promptly left my wallet, she went through it and tracked me down via my Costco card as my business name is on that. When I went to pick it up she had finished her shift but when she comes back in Wednesday I intend to reward her, she went way above and beyond as I hadn't even missed my wallet.

Order in food, take them (or have them take you) out to eat, say, "Help yourself" and, "Stay up as late as you want, but I'm worn out, sorry" and then go to bed!

I am grateful because it really looks and feels like spring is going to stick around this time!

Pooh, I agree with Ruth. I know it's hard to do, we all want to be the hostess with the mostest. Also, probably when it's happening it's fun. But you have to look after you.

    Welcome back Chrissy.

Cheryl, wow. Nice to know there are still honest people out there.

    Day #98

Today I am grateful for the exercise class I went to yesterday. I ache a bit today, but I slept better last night.

Today has been a tough one. I'm sitting here trying to find something to be grateful for when I remember that I'm grateful to still be here after a cancer diagnosis. Still being here for the tough ones means that I'm still here for all the good ones too. Thanks for this thread, it helps to put things in perspective.

Day 97: grateful for the beautiful warm weather here, that I had energy to wash my filthy car and that I didn't hurt too much doing it. (Ok, it hurt my arms reaching to do the roof, even with step stools, but it was bearable. Maybe I needed a reminder I still need to be careful and take things slowly )

Onco don't you love it when you can get something to work that shouldn't. Maddy I took my car to the car wash yesterday and today a bird pooped on it Pooh listen to Ruth she gave you great advice.

Today I am very grateful for my dance teacher who came to class tonight with a temperature of 103, she couldn't find a sub and didn't want to disappoint her people and cancel the class, she is a hugger/kisser but made everyone stay away from her, she had two objectives - one was to not throw up during class and two was for us to enjoy ourselves and she succeeded on both counts.

Day 98: I am SO very grateful for a miracle that happened to my daughter a couple of hours ago. She has been working so hard going to college, working 2 jobs and interning at a very prestigious hospital near here but a bit of a drive. She's about to get her AA degree in May and applied to only one private college near here, to the nursing program (which are very difficult to get into around here). She had an excellent reference (actually from someone prestigious tied to that school) and some major accomplishments in her short professional career. She was supposed to hear by the first of April. Well, no notice, no letter, no email. She was getting very upset by not hearing from them.

I got a call earlier (we generally don't answer the home phone with so many solicitations), our TV displays the name and phone numbers. It was from the university (her advisor's assistant) asking if she is still interested in fall admission. Really? He couldn't find her application (this is sounding so similar to something I went thru a month ago for me) anywhere in the system; left it that the advisor would call her later this week to find out what was happening.

Got a 2nd call ten minutes later, same phone number, same assistant. He asked if I wanted the good news by phone or letter: apparently someone misspelled her name (and it's not a complicated name) and she was accepted! I immediately started crying! Asked him to please call her cell and leave her the message as I almost felt guilty finding out before her. He was happy to do so.

About an hour later she came home (she hasn't been home for days, she's been pet/house sitting). Asked her if she got her voice mails but her phone's battery was dead for hours. When I told her, she was so pleasantly shocked. And, yes, the voice mail confirmed it. Hopefully she'll find out more tomorrow.

Sorry this was so long, I'm in a state of shock.

Since I've started posting on this thread, good things have happened to be grateful for. I plan to continue after the 100 days are over
