uh-oh, I am several days behind!

Fri March 14, can't think of anything. It was kind of a blah day. Oh well, I'm grateful it wasn't any worse than blah.

Sat March 15, I'm grateful I was able to drive to Seattle & back without being completely exhausted. I saw my mom and we got a lot done on the genealogy project

Sunday March 16, I'm grateful for the people I met at the "New Members" event at my church. Now all I have to do is bring up their names and faces out of my memory next Sunday!

I think I have one for today, too, but I'm going to wait until it happens. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Grateful that today DH and I will share a wonderfully made pizza for lunch  made in a little non-franchises restaurant nearby.

Today I'm grateful all the wallpaper is finally down in the dining room, now on to repairing the sheetrock, which I have never done. Keep your fingers crossed that it works out OK. But hey, if we can have our boobs cut off and keep going, surely we can repair a little sheetrock.

Well, you all can be grateful that you aren't at my house today, because I discovered that the basement freezer died ('How did you discover that?" you might ask. "Because of the peculiar smell," I would answer). OMG!!! Think dead fish and meat swimming in a couple inches of water/blood. I hauled out two huge garbage bags of rotting food, dipped the 'juice' out with a measuring cup into an ice cream pail, which I repeated emptied into the street, scrubbed out the freezer in vinegar, and now have all the windows open and the freezer soaking in more vinegar. So I am grateful that I have a strong stomach but still, I DON'T WANT TO GO BACK DOWN THERE!!!!!! ShockedSick

Oh Ruth. Did you call your insurance agent? Depends I guess on how much food was in it. And how high your deductible is.

What a rotten thing to have happen. Sorry.

'Rotten' is right...in more ways than one. No, I don't think insurance will cover it....although I suppose I could try it & tell them that the freezer was full of lobster & filet mignon

Lol. Sorry I love puns and couldn't resist that one. Insurance up here does cover loss of food in a freezer. Particularly when there is a power outage or a freezer breakdown. But there is the deductible. Doesn't hurt to ask tho.

DH is checking with the insurance. Any ideas to get the smell out? Google suggested fresh coffee grounds changed daily, so the freezer is in the garage full of coffee grounds, baking soda and vinegar!

St Paddy's day gratitude- stopped at the local grocery store to deposit a check at the bank branch there. There was a basket with little shamrock plants on sale. Three small ones for $1.50 each. The gal at the check out saw me looking at them and said "do you want them, just take them!" Free plants.

Now here is the funny part, she said "and Happy Valentine's Day!" Then she "oops, I mean St Patricks Day!" Everyone laughed!

I am not sure what I liked more, the plants or the blooper!

Grateful that I saw a ladybug yesterday .....My best friend who passed away last yr at 43 from colon cancer  said she'd come back to visit us as a lady bug ...(she loved ladybugs) . I seem to see them when I need a little pick me up .

Ruth.......... did you try putting a large open box of odor-absorbing scented cat litter in the bottom of the freezer and close the door for a couple of days. I read that on the internet .... also heard that filling the freezer full of crumpled newspaper will help.

RED.....Your boosts should be over soon if I am not mistaken ???? .....yippie .....

Pooh- I love the ladybug story. Your friend told you so you would know. My mother comes to me as a little yellow butterfly whenever I need the same.

Happy Birthday Red!  Celebrate for the whole year not just a day!

Today I am grateful that the ortho agreed with me that it's time for the knee replacement so now I wait a day or two for his nurse to ring me with a date.

    Happy Birthday, Red!!!

Pooh, when I check, if the coffee grounds haven't done anything, I will dump some kitty litter in too!

I am grateful that it is cold out, so the garage, where the freezer is now sitting, does not smell bad!

Day 76: grateful for Internet recipe searches. Found a great recipe for (lower calorie) Alfredo sauce from Pinterest and had all the ingredients on hand so no trip to the store. Turned out yummy - even DH, who hates cheese (and didn't realize there were two cheeses) loved it and it was fairly easy. Will need to get to the store soon, as I'm on an all-liquid diet today in prep for tomorrow's colonoscopy.

Happy Birthday Red. Pooh and Jazzy I find pennies from my friend who died from ovarian cancer 9 years ago whenever something is happening in her family. Yeahhhh Chrissy glad he agreed with you.

Grateful to have spent some time this evening having dinner with a friend, she had invited me to her place yesterday for corned beef and cabbage but I didn't get the message till today so I invited her over for chicken and rice at my place.

Jazzy ...Lucky you ...I hate tax time !!

    hbcheryl.....like your penny story too

Grateful today for my daughter and hubby ..its both their birthdays today .....My daughter is 17....19 years ago I was told that we had a 1% of having a child after 2 years of trying...... was also declined for artificial insemination as we were not even good candidates for this procedure...............so she's my little miracle baby born on my hubby's bday ...... so I always say that a 1% chance is all you need .

Grateful to find an appliance store that will deliver a new freezer AND take away the old one, both at no extra charge!
