Yes, definitely see more birds when out in the field birding!
I don't see many birds at our suet and seed feeders.

snowy owl shot taken over lake Ont. Near Whitby
-
Such a lovely snowy owl. ;o)
-
Oh what a beauty
-
Very nice owls! I once saw one in a ghetto! I kid you not. Occasionally snowy owls migrate further south and Camden NJ had one hanging around an abandoned lot. It was a real thrill to see it.
I noticed the birds are singing their little hearts out lately. Spring is almost here!

Nice article in the Tribune today about how the snowy owls are all over the east coast and a bit of midwest this year. They had such an overflow of food in the Arctic last year that there was a bigger owl population and so more of the juveniles (who are the ones down here) have come farther south. Wish I could see one!
-
I've only seen snowy owls in lovely photos. ;o)
-
me too Teka
-
Yes, I'll be looking for eastern bluebirds come warmer weather!
-
Me too! My favorite bird.
-
With the drought in my part of California, I have no orioles in my yard
Usually the Hooded Orioles & Bullock's Orioles empty my humming bird feeders in less than a day during the winter months. I have none, not one this year. I've never gone a winter without them
-
Robins all over the yard this morning! Outside Chicago- I think they might be jumping the gun a bit!
-
Need some help with identification...
-
They were at our neighborhood duck pond
-
First one is an Indian Runner duck.(I have one!)
Second is Chinese geese. (Domestic)
And Canada Goose last.
-
You know waterfowl. ;o)
I only knew canada goose!
-
Bluebird, DS and DIL had Indian runner ducks when they lived in the country. They brought 2 into town with them, but didn't replace them. Neighbors complained about the noise, but the eggs were delicious.
-
This week a flock of cedar waxwings were eating the small hard fruits off the ornamental pear trees in our yard!
-
Looks like a mean guy to m
-
Lisa, lol they look mean but they have this sweet little whistling sound that they make and are very beautiful when you see them up close (found a dead one in our yard
They are one of my favorites.
