Websister! Big cheer going out on the deportation date! Friday November 8...... a great way to start the weekend!
-
Benny....does Nihahi know exactly where you live? If not, you're probably good to go.....
(Nihahi, I hope you know I'm only kidding!)
XO -
Hi X
Momof, you will be SO supported today maybe a bit sea sick if water under raft a bit choppy, but all being well water wise, just held and loved by the Warrior Sisters. Prayers and Reiki flying across the pond from blighty.X
Nahahi, Timmies outing happened YAY. Can't believe no one took a pic !! So lovely that we can have proper get togethers now and again. X
Benny, you are a scream ! At least you aren't living on mash and flippin peas. Do you find that food still doesn't taste quite the same ? Shouldn't complain, as at least no burning on the way down anymore. Have you got your loo fixed yet ? X
Liefie, thanks for Skype, hope sewing of blankie/dress goes well. X
Adagio and Morwenna us TN girls will definitely have a get together when we get to our five years. Ready Steady Go !! XX
Websister, how is your back these days ? Think of you when the hip kicks off. Lovely that you got to Timmies too. X
Dakota/Traii, life getting back to normal for you girls, how wonderful XX
Our local news so sad today, 57 year old woman has died after falling 80ft from the top floor of a department store in liverpool town centre. My DD is the NVQ assesor there but is off for half term break thank goodness.Staff and customers all in shock. She landed at the bottom of the escalator. I was in there not long ago and it is always packed with people. Three year old fell there in 2008 but survived, when will they learn people more important than profits.
Choir last night was super, ( except for my squeaking ) concert 14th Dec, might just mime.
Bingo and pics today, life is looking up !! Going to see new Tom Hanks film "Captain Phillips" it has rave reviews. Also dinner out, my cup runneth over ha ha.New phone on order which does everything but make a latte, so excited. Should be able to send photos again I hope.
Love to ALL, laters.
-
Edi....let me know what you think of that movie. Tom Hanks is one of my favourite actors....seems like a long time since he's been in something though. I know.....what were we all thinking...no photo...conversation was just flowing though, so never gave it a thought really.
benny...that farm would fall apart if you weren't so dedicated to it.....did you ever find the missing egg????? Forgot to ask you if that sleep program needs a doctor's referral, or if it costs anything?????
morwenna...how did the concert rehearsal go???? Hope there was a great turnout for it.
momof2....we're all with you today, hoping for negative nodes, safe surgery and gentle healing.
gotta dash.....later ladies. -
The show was great fun! We had over 300 friends and family there to support us. I know because we had 300 chairs and people were standing at the back!
I feel a bit tired this morning. I think my eyelids are exhausted from wearing those super-long false eyelashes!! ;p
It was wonderful meeting up with Benny, Websister and Nihahi yesterday. Yes it was just like meeting a bunch of old friends. A physiotherapist, an OT, a nurse and a social worker! Too funny! No wonder we got on like a house on fire
(Houses are made of wood and chipboard here, so they burn particularly well!!)
I did mention a photo once, but the conversation moved on so quickly, and the moment passed. Sorry guys, we'll just have to do it again soon!
What Nihahi alluded to was my poem, the one I posted for you a few days ago. I sent it to Melissa, and got a very enthusiastic response. Then she wrote back to say that Dr Weiss, the founder, is going to use it in her closing speech for the fundraiser in Philadelphia. I'm really chuffed!
Anyhoo, I probably should go get my day started. Namaste!!

Hi Ladies
My son's partner is in Slovakia and has been diagnosed with breast cancer following a needle biopsy. In Slovakia they seem to offer radiotherapy before a lumpectomy, I may have misunderstood, but that is not usually routine is it? Does that mean it's advanced. How can I help them both. -
Hi Martina,
sorry to hear about your son's partner
It is actually increasingly common to offer chemo to shrink the tumour prior to lumpectomy, but thinking about it I'm not sure I've heard much about radiotherapy as a neoadjuvant treatment. I guess it would serve the same purpose.
I get the impression that you are not in Slovakia? I presume your son is?? From a distance there is not an awful lot you can do in practical terms, but be there as a listening ear and let them talk, if they want to.
Maybe encourage them to come onto this website for information and support as well? I wish you, and them, all the best. The early period after diagnosis is always the scariest most stressful time! -
Hey girls, I have a tattoo!!
OK its not real, but this is my chorus, and on competition day (Nov 5 in Hawaii) we are encouraged to wear them over our hearts. I think that's very fittiing. This baby is gonna sit right on my mastectomy scar!!!

-
Thank you, my son is home working, they found out yesterday, all I can do is be there for them. Will signpost them here -
SING IT, MO!!!!!! fyi....you look fabulous!!!!!! -
I look slightly pained ...... must have been a particularly high note!
-
nope......"focussed" maybe......but FABULOUS!!!!
Gotta get busy again...got back from a run/walk, scarfed down something to eat.....gotta hit the shower then busy again. -
Morwenna.....please identify yourself so that those of us not fortunate enough to meet you in person (so far) know who you are! (I think you all look like you are really into it, and having fun!) By the way, congratulations on your poem "news". I can't say that I am surprised.....it was really beautiful!
Martina....so sorry your family is experiencing this......BCO is a great resource.....take advantage of it!
Nihahi, where are you off to? It is too bad you are not here......hiking still good to go....daytime temps in the mid-70's.....I know the rainy season is right around the corner.....but this has been a wonderful Indian Summer.......enjoying it while I still can!
Edi....sounds like life is trucking along for you.....let me know what you think of Tom Hanks and "Captain Phillips"......maybe I will break down and pay the $$ to see it!
Just got back from a 4 mile walk.....have to get my mother up and dressed for the day......so...........
Back on the Hampster Wheel.......(((sigh)))
XO
Love to all -
I'm at the back. Short white/grey hair, slightly curly (chemo has to be good for something!), and that's not my usual look btw, so if you passed me in the street you'd likely still not recognize me!
-
Morwenna, I think you look fabulous! Just go with it!
-
I agree, Morwenna - you looked focused and fabulous.
I won't spend long, nursing a migraine since early last evening, was sorry to miss Morwenna's fabulous performance last evening due to this.
Momof2 - with you all day, stay on the raft, we are supporting you -
Morwenna - you look great. I like the short curly....very chic. So glad they are going to use your poem. It expresses how I feel for sure.
Martina-Sorry about your son's partner. They both will get a lot of encouragement here and a lot of knowledge. These ladies have helped me more than they will ever know.
Momoftwo- been thinking of you all day. -
So proud ! my ED won promaster award in her company for the development of a new system.

Hope you are all ok.
Morwenna, WOW you are so glamorous ! Love your hair, would love to have seen your concert.
Momof2, so hope you are safe on the raft rocking gently on the ocean.
Just a quick visit to show you my news ( proud mom.com )
-
Congrats to your ED (and You....ProudMom)! That is fantastic!
Momof2........thinking of you....... -
Edi - congratulations to you and your daughter ! Good looking girl .
Morwenna - agree with the others - you look fantastic and full of life! Have you had your hair cut since chemo?
Momof2 - prayers with you today as promised.
My mammogram went OK at the time, but I have been so sore on the surgery side since it - they must have stretched the scar tissue - ouch! -
Well thank you girls! *blushing*
Adagio, I did get the back and sides trimmed a bit, just to tidy it up a while back - my little Chinese hairdresser refused to charge me! .... then more recently I attempted to trim it a little just around the ears
That's one thing I guess I don't have to worry about (soreness on lumpectomy side) ... having no breast left to mammo! (Grateful for small mercies!
Wondering how things went with Momof2 .........
Edi, GRATS to your glamorous ED!
Websister, I've had a headache ever since last night too .... not good
maybe it's the weather? It's going to be lovely again tomorrow though! -
I'd blame the weather for the headaches....supposed to be 20 tomorrow and snow on Sunday.
morwenna....I think I'd go with the description of "silver fox" myself for you!!!!
momof2.....thinking of you
movie...hubby and I are heading to Fernie, BC. Basically a summer/winter resort area....lots of hiking trails and incredibly snowfalls for skiing. It'll be shoulder season while we're there, so hoping just for some quiet time away from work for hubby....and some new walks.
oops...gotta dash.....art class time!!!!! -
Oh Edi, that is wonderful! ED got it all when they handed out the the attributes >>> good looks and brains!
Morwenna, fantastic picture! And the eyelashes look great too!
Adagio, glad mammogram uneventful. I was sore the following two days too but not too bad.
Websister, I don't have a headache but I do feel yucky and very tired. It's either weather or tamoxifen. I hate the stuff already. Make sure you're getting water in.
Doxiemom, hope you're resting comfortably. Check in when you can.
Nihahi, sounds like an awesome vacation. Are you taking your camera (hint, hint)??!
I am implementing the 10 minute rule today. Super tired (might be from unloading 8 bags of beet pulp but it shouldn't be) and achy and a bit sad. I don't know how long tamox s/s kick in but I'm wondering if it's that? The 10 minute rule is just get up and do something (housecleaning) for 10 minutes then take a break. I hate having to live this way but just so tired today. Oh, and it is really hard on the tummy too

-
you guys all should've had a pumpkin spice muffin!!!!! I feel great!
benny....where I go, my camera goes!!!! -
clear nodes....but I cannot pee? Sore and BP is all over the place. Too high on morphine to write more..Thank you all for your thoughts anf prayers,,,
LOVE,
Jenifer -
WOOHOO!!!!!! momof2....that is great news!!!! the rest of the stuff will sort itself out. -
momof2 - good to hear from you. Take as much meds as you need to make you comfortable. Hope you get to pee soon - think running water and breathe deeply enough to relax the sphincter around the bladder. Prayers continue to be with you! -
SO happy to hear about the nodes, Momof! That is great news! As Nihahi has already said.....the rest will sort itself out!
XO -
Clear nodes! Yeeee-hah!!!
g'night youall!
xxx -
Hi X
Momof2, YAY for clear nodes, hope pee happens soon, turn on a tap nearby if you can. :-) Rest and heal X
Benny, ED is besides herself this morning, she said she wouldn't get the award but Mom said she would :-) GD can't wait for her to come home from two days away from home after today's conference.
Love the ten minute rule, great idea. I have always done the do a task, rest, do another, rest. It really gets you through a day, mind you don't lift huge amounts like you do. Have you tried lavender oil on pillow at bed time ? Also if you are in a stressful situation, sprinkled on a cotton woold pad in a zip lock bag, nose in deep breath and RELAX. Like glue sniffing without the health risk !! FYI my DH saw a pic of you on f/b and said " wow she is gorgeous " he doesn't give compliments easily so you better believe it..Please get skype on your laptop, it is free and we could have a natter now and again.Don't be sad, loosen something in car engine then call that mechanic :-))Morwenna, If my hair was the colour of yours I would LOVE it and wouldn't need to dye it. Hope headache lifts soon.
Nihahi, Enjoy art class and time away with DH.
Adagio, ED looks like I did before everything caved in or drooped ha ha.My lumpectomied boob was sore for a few days after mamo too. I wear a soft bra in bed and that did help. When they squashed it I was convinced everything would burst when scar tissue gave way. We are such worry warts aren't we ?
Movie, hope you are all recovered from your travelling.
Liefie/traii/Dakota/Websister and all sisters (((hugs)))
