Hi everyone!!
I can't wait to see everyone! I'm ready to spend some quality time with everyone. I am so excited!!
Yipeeee!! -
Just booked my flight - only $158 RT on Southwest!!! Gotta love that - more $$ for food, I mean drinks, I mean gambling, I mean shopping........
Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend!!!!! xoxo
-
so wish I could fly for that small amount of $$$$....right now my flight would be $488...ouch....I will have no money for drinks, I mean gambling/shopping, I really mean FOOD....lol
Colleen, hope you have a great Memorial Day....love you
-
Talked with hub on the way down the shore today and said I was 99% committed to going, I just wanted to make sure I would have enough vaca days left over after some other commitments we had to babysit grandkids, or help daughter after thyroid surgery, etc. He said "so take it without pay" - gotta love that man!!!
I'm going to research flights over the weekend and I think by Monday will book my flight. Planning to arrive Thursday, leave Monday. I feel that initial flutter of excitement
-
Hi all,
Marlegal, it will be wonderful to meet you.
Checked flights yesterday and southwest is $423 rt for me. I hope they go down in price soon. Will keep looking, DH suggested to look at southwest on tuesdays when they have some specials.
I wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day and enjoy your weekend.
Hugs, Cheryl

My cousin's wife Debbie and her BFF Cindy are going to come this year. Cindy is a BC survivor and I have met her a couple of times - they are both LOADS of FUN! I am so happy they are going to make it this year. I know they will fit in great with our group.
Still waiting to hear from Stacey - she is my husband's friend's wife - she joined us for the Friday get together and Piano Bar last year - I am hoping that she just stays with us for the entire weekend instead of going back and forth to where her husband is staying.
-
I am still up for the bull riding as long as it doesn't interfere with the Piano Bar assuming we are going there again. I have my priorities!!
-

I know my roommies wont mind a bottle or 2 in the room!

I've booked my flight on southwest, anything less than 400 these days is a good deal. We used to get $88 round trip when champion flew out of OKC but those days are over. So felt lucky for 276$. It's a good omen. Beatmon

So, I know we have time, but I'm wondering...are there planned things for nighttime or is it free form with an occasional joint gathering? I want to meet as many of you as possible but I'm also thinking I'd like to catch a show one night so don't want to pick the wrong night!
Thanks for advice to this first timer -
marlegal, and other newbies: as AN EXAMPLE ONLY, this was last year's agenda. You can see where there are group activities, free time and really you are on your own for anything you do/do not want to participate in. As time gets closer, items like these will be planned. Again, this is LAST YEAR's plan, as an example only, just to give you an idea.

Ladies: I am considering renting a cabana on Friday at the Aria hotel. So, if you arrive Friday, come look for us at the pool. I'll find a way to identify the cabana. It's 10 am - 6 pm, $250 on Thursday or $400 on Friday. So, if anyone wants to contribute, that would be great. I'll leave my info at the reception desk. I am not 100% certain, yet. Would like to know others are interested.
-
Two things:
1. Chirp, like I said tonight in chat, I'm 100% in with the cabana
2. I am seriously reconsidering my plans to leave Sunday if this year's activities mirror other years! Once someone really puts up an agenda, if people are willing this year to organize like they did last year, I might have to hide in someone else's room Sun night and fly home Monday! I love last year's agenda.
-
Hi Ladies, I might be interested in sharing the cabana, too, what a great idea!! I get in on Thursday afternoon around 3pm. I'm SOOO looking forward to this!
Who wants to go see Thunder Down Under with me on Thursday or Monday?? I decided last time that I was going to do it this time! Just checked... 9:00pm and 11:00pm on Thursday or 9:00pm on Monday $62.65. I'm into doing it any other night as well depending on timing of the planned group activities.
Oh and for the non-queezy, I want to see the Bodies Exhibit at the Luxor. 10am-10pm daily $32.00 and we can probably find coupons, too.
Can't wait to be with you all!
-
I'd love to do thunder down Under with you. Let's see what the agenda looks like.
I did the Bodies Exhibit at the Luxor with my husband a few years ago. As my undergrad is pre-med, it was very very interesting to me. He enjoye dit very much as well. I won't do it again, but I'm sure you will enjoy. It's not 'queezy' type, either. As the bodies are very rigid, dry and anotamic, they are not gross, imho.
-
Marlegal - you don't leave on Sunday nor do you leave early Monday morning! That is just a given! Or at least you figure that one out after your first get together but I am going to give you a heads up now.
First off - We are still having fun Sunday night and so leaving early - you miss out on the fun.
Secondly - you never go to bed early so don't ever book a flight for first thing Monday morning because getting up is going to hurt!
The best time to fly out on Monday - is anytime after 1 pm. You check out of the hotel at 11 am - normal check out - so you get as much sleep as you can that morning - and then head to the airport for an early afternoon flight.
I made the mistake of having a 10 am flight on Monday morning that first year which meant I had to be up at around 7 am and that about killed me. Oh and plan on just vegging out for the next 3 days or so after you get back because you won't feel like doing a damm thing.
-
Jancie, I've been to Vegas twice, and one of those times was with a group from the chat rooms of BCO the year before the TaTas started going! So yeah, I know not to get an early morning flight, ever!!! But I'm still working 5 days a week and have to decide whether to take that Monday...I don't have that many days vaca left after using a lot for babysitting grandsons! But you've really made me think I may have to rework my return time. Wish I had the luxury of recouping for 3 days after, but I'll be returning to the grind of my job the day after whenever I come home. Just wondering if I should keep my room for another night, or whether I can crash with someone else for one night and give them a few bucks.....hhhhmmmmm.......
-
Reading that last post...makes me realize that I'm a really, really lucky woman that these are my hard choices - come home Sunday from a great trip, or stay another night to make the trip even better. Lots don't have those choices. I never ever want to lose sight of my blessings.
-
Peer Pressure....I did it - changed to a Monday return flight!!! Actually was $30 cheaper! So I take a day without pay ... to enjoy the company of new friends for 24 more hours ... well worth it
-
Welcome to all the lovely newbies coming this year. I was very nervous about venturing all the way to Vegas from Canada to meet up with a bunch of people I did not know. What a great group of friends I have made from all over the staes and Canada, they made me feel welcome and a comraderie of a battle that only a cancer survivor/fighter can understand. We laugh, dance and enjoy each others company. So excited to see everyone in Sept.
-
ok i'm going crazy would someone see if they can find out how much a flight from Texarkana or Little Rock Arkansas would be to Vegas (the cheapest please) i'm getting no where and tho i'm not blond sure should be,8 years i've been waiting to meet some of you, this redneck sure could use some help, and possibly some room mates lol
