Blue - your family are gorgeous - love that wee boy.

Skyped with Annie and baby Nick this morning - he still loves the blue ball he got for his birthday. He says ball and uh oh. If he drops it, he goes uh oh - so gorgeous!!

Blue, I just want to squeeze your little one. I've enjoyed the pictures and discussion here.

Things have finally calmed down here enough for me to take a minute to post. DH had a stomachache all week, getting progressively worse. He went to the doctor on Thursday in so much pain he could barely walk, got sent for a STAT CT scan and dx'ed with acute diverticulitis. He's been living on Jello and on a couple of very strong antibiotics but he's finally pain free and is now allowed to eat small portions of normal food, but no raw fruits or vegetables yet. And I'm finally feeling calmer, he scared me to death.

RR - hope your hubby gets to feeling MUCH better.  what is diverculitis anyway?  It sounds terrible!!

Blue - you have got the most gorgeous family.

Suzie - you've got to be missing your grandson something fierce.  Wish you could be there with him.

Big hugs to all.  No new homes on our horizon yet.  But I'm certain that something will come along.

GG - I do miss him. Maybe we can get them to move here if my DD ever finishes her Masters in Intellectual Property - that would giver her a salary of 300,000 if she went on to become a patent attorney. She's my bad baby - first class honours in Botany, PhD in grape vine irrigation (quit 6 months before finishing - still can't believe it), went on to become a Police Woman, now a police prosecutor. Police prosecutors here do not have to have a law degree, but obviously do some learning. That, along with her science background would make a good combination to be a patent attorney. Maybe one day....

Reporting for duty with explanation for AWOL SIR!

Spent another three days in hospital following immense pain, incredible constipation, a semi-collapsed lung - of which the draining was very painful even with anaesthesia, and too much calcium and not enough magnesium (bua, hua, hau, poor me, etc....). All could be portents of cancer but, honestly, I don't care right now. My breathing is greatly improved, I am on a pain regimen that is working and I am still a lioness as opposed to a monster despite being on Tamox. since Mother's Day. Seeing my onc for a round-up visit next week.

I discver that being a condemned person does solve one huge problem that most of humanity has - the fear of danger or dying. I think the lung things are surgery related anyway - pulmonologist sounded very optimistic pending definitive respults. Family has been wonderful - leaving THEM and YOU is the real tragedy, so I apologize in advice! Damned rude to walk out that.

Now for details that DO matter: Blue, happy belated birthday - hope you had a nice time. LOOK AT FOSSIL! Growing like a weed. Congrats to Pip and GG again.

{{{{Athena}}}}, we cross posted. I'm sorry to hear where you've been and what you've been going through. I'm also glad to hear that the tamoxifen hasn't turned you into a monster. And most important of all, dear Lioness, start making some plans to stick around a lot longer than you think. Treatment is going to knock the beast back.

ATHENA - oh, my.  Many gentle hugs, and good wishes.  Hope all settles into a painfree pattern soon.  Have the docs checked your PARATHYROID GLANDS if calcium is way out of whack?  We are all also sending you "patience pills" - they're very easy to take, we'll sneak them in with the other stuff...also pitted prunes...very effective, but with all your meds, you probably need the Strong Stuff too.

I TOO love the Craftsman - fills my William Morris fantasy nicely.  So much "character."

BLUE - what a gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS little boy.  Whole family, but he is very very SPECIAL. WOW.

RR - hope DH is feeling better, clad they found it early - it can be so dangerous.  Thinking of the song to the Jello commercial - but when ya'll read that you'll hum it too  At least it's one word we can still spell.

Another day not gardening, temps below freezing last night, in the low 40's now, no way to explain how strange this feels.

Athena - glad to see you!!! Hope those lung problems are behind you now. Also glad the Tamoxifen is OK so far.
