Blue!!! He is outrageously handsome. He must take after your side of the family

-
GG, so sorry about the house! Better finding out now than after you moved in, though!
Blue, what an adorable little gumdrop! He looks like a deep thinker already!
CforC, I find it fascinating that there aren't shrieks of outrage from those so very concerned with government waste and unnecessary expenditures when regressives in the House continually waste taxpayer money trying to circumvent or overturn what is the law of the land. Attempting to pass laws identical to those that have already been ruled unconstitutional is a shocking waste of taxpayer money - from the salaries of the lawmakers and their staffers to the expenses of litigating laws that will surely be overturned. As a taxpayer, I am angry that they are wasting time and my money on pointless yammering instead of doing something productive, like debating infrastructure bills so that we can begin to address our crumbling infrastructure.

HL - I'd say the money for that inspection was well spent!! We are disappointed, though, as we are both sick to death of searching.
My take is that they want to be seen as doing something. Never mind the fact that the something they are trying to do is the same blessed thing that has failed time after time - that they know very well will fail again. They aren't really interested in running the country that they are living in. They are interested in looking good to the people who support them - and if possible remaking the country into something they think they would prefer living in. JMO

Blue, what a cutie!

-
Crap, GG! Really sorry about the house. Sounds like the inspection saved you a ton of trouble down the road, but still; it must be really hard mentally to have to think about continuing your search when you thought it was over. (My best advice, for what it's worth, which isn't much: just put it out of your mind until after the holiday.)
Blue, I love the picture of your handsome grandson. What gorgeous, dreamy eyes.
Cold and rainy here, and daughter is in a foul mood (despite getting to leave work early in advance of the long weekend). I don't think I told you guys, but she was lucky enough to find an office job her first week here, so she is experiencing the world of regular work for the first time. (Her previous experience was all casual babysitting.) It's boring as hell, she tells me - data entry for insurance claims - but it's keeping her busy.
Linda
-
Lewing, in my experience, even interesting jobs are boring in the beginning. Just remind her that experience will help her get more exciting jobs in the future.
We are going to check out another house in the am I think. Gawd I'm not happy about needing to continue the hunt. Ah well. Maybe it's just not meant to be quite yet. -
-
GG - whew, you escaped a real problem. Black Mold...yuck. YOUR house is out there just waiting for you to find it.
BLUE - divine, just perfection - love those EYES, and yes, he is definitely a Wise Ole Soul.
More blue stripes - wonder why people who know they don't like what they will read on this thread, still read and post on this thread. We all know it just produces blue stripes, unnecessary work for the Moderators too. Is there something about the Moderators suggesting : DON'T LIKE, DON'T READ which is difficult to understand? I must be missing something, can't get the dynamic that keeps this happening?
Regular posters on this thread - please, please, please restrain yourself and IGNORE if you don't see a blue stripe. Thank you.
-
They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting different results ...certainly applies to the U.S. House of Representatives, doesn't it?
GG, I ALWAYS think a house inspection is money well-spent! We pulled the plug on a house that we discovered had several blind valleys in the roof as they had added on to the house. That was why the kitchen ceiling had been freshly painted! The roof was also older than they represented it to be. Fingers crossed that the right one will magically appear for you!
Lewing, how well I remember the boring clerical jobs of my teen years. File clerk in a law library .... Mail girl in the offices of a foundry .... Clerk-typist at an Air Force Base .... General dogsbody for Manpower. Real-workplace work experience is only beneficial for your DD, as you know, but it doesn't make it any less boooooring! -
CC
that's quite a picture. Doesn't surprise me, remember I lived in DC for years. So gratefull I got out b4 this crew moved into town. Tho still smiling at what John McCain has to say to his Senate colleagues. Wonder when the House will hear the same message from soneone in that party.
Such a paradox - a political party asking for less government, still seems to want to control all aspects of a woman's body. Also controlling who someone can love, and calling it "values" - paradox.
-
I have all the drive-bys on block ... I simply posted at the wrong time.
-
HL - figured that was the case. Drive bys. Do you get why they do it? It is so obvious no one but the Moderators are reading it. Why make extra work for them, they have enough to do already. Selfish, selfish, selfish - knowing that all it does is make extra work for the Moderators. Thought it was "settled" by allowing the drive by posters to start another thread. Ah, well.
Still smiling at Blue's Gorgeous Gorgeous Little One...ah, those eyes....wise, wise, wise....
-
Lewing - cold? Strange, strange - it's in the 50's - will be way down in the 30's for the next few nights - feels like March.
Puddles in all the fields - I feel so sorry for the farmers.
-
I'm wondering if we're going to get local strawberries this year, or if they'll all rot in the fields. (Or freeze, up your way!)
Linda
-
Lewing - ask your daughter if the software she has to use at work is ClaimCenter. The company that make it seem to have landed most of the big insurance companies around the world - this is the software I program/customise at work.

Hi Everyone,
What happened here? What's up with all the deletions? I was busy working on a forensic report and missed out on all the excitement.
Blue ... Phillip is just adorable. I wish I could hold him and smell his sweet little head. Newborns smell so damn good. Just want to cuddle them to pieces!
Linda ... It was really chilly today here too. Very, very windy.
Gumby ... I'm sorry the deal with the house fell apart. It's got to be very frustrating.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial weekend.
hugs,
Bren

GG....ouch. So sorry the home inspection was negative. I do think something better is around the next curve and you'll end up glad, knowing all the while that it is going to take a heck of a lot more to cheer you after a bummer like that one.
Hmmm drive-bys.....I missed al the fun, but then I usually do. I read next door for quite some time but then it was so repetitious and I decided at some point -- do I care care what others think. Even more so when so many, many Republicans seem incapable of standing away from the crowd and being their own person....the way so many of the old-timers were. So -- push buttom -- poof.
Life is good.
Blue.....what a handsome little guy --- and the whole world is in his eyes.
Lewing -- nothing like home grown strawberries. One of my most favorite times of year.
See you all later.
Jackie

Happy Memorial day everyone!!
-
GG....sigh !!!! Forgot to tell you how much I like your avatar picture right now.
Also Bren,....I too was wondering about 'the visitors' .
Jackie
-
GG - sorry about the house, but better to find out now.
-
Thanks, Jackie. Plumeria are one of my favorite flowers.
Hahahaha we are going to look at another house tonight (if I ever get off this stuck in traffic bus!) and two more in the morning! I told hubby that I thought he should take a break, but he's nothing if not stubborn! -
Were we the victims of a drive-by? It is a Friday, and nearly a full moon, so I guess it's expected.
Almost-boyfriend told me today that I'm too good to be true. *snort* He hasn't seen me eat with my toes yet.
Happy Weekend!
-
E - guess it was what ya'd call a driveby - but nobody knows what it said cuz we all get a Beautiful Blue Stripe instead of woids.
YOUARETOOGOODTOBETRUE...so happy for you.Lewing - I went to a farmer today to buy my sungold tomato plants - and the fields were SO wet - they couldn't be worked - and we've got 2 more days of rain. Very strange...the rain has been ao erratic this year.
-
E - I really like that guy
He has good taste -
We ended up having a beautiful day today. Upper 60s and sunshine. This is my kind of weather but I think we are going back in the rain mode again tomorrow.
And now for some good news on the Obamacare front. We've got real numbers coming in from some states about premium rates submitted by the insurance companies and it's looking good. Some highlights of the article here ...
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/05/24/2058231/how-california-is-debunking-the-gops-obamacare-talking-points/?fb_action_ids=10151614081829555&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map={"10151614081829555":467528326671058}&action_type_map={"10151614081829555":"og.likes"}&action_ref_map=[]
"On Thursday, California officials revealed insurance companies’ opening bids for the state’s Obamacare marketplace in 2014. The numbers are great for consumers — and terrible for right-wing fear mongering over the health law.
Covered California, the agency tasked with constructing and maintaining the Golden State’s insurance marketplace, announced in a press release that rates submitted by 13 insurers for the 2014 individual marketplace were far lower than initially expected, ranging from a stunning 29 percent below the current average premium for small business health plans to only two percent above them.
Depending on income, the average middle-aged Californian would pay anywhere from $40 to $300 per month for a mid-level "Silver" health plan on the marketplace. Younger, healthier Americans looking to buy bare-bones "Bronze" health plans would end up paying less than $170 per month — or even nothing at all — if they make less money and receive federal Obamacare subsidies.
And California isn’t the only state to release such positive initial numbers for its marketplace. Earlier this month, several Oregon insurers actually requested to lower their opening bids for the state’s insurance marketplace after they realized that their initial offerings weren’t competitive enough. Numbers for marketplaces in Washington and Vermont have also been encouraging."

E ... Glad that nearly boyfriend is smart enough to comprehend your awesomeness

GG ... sorry about the house. Thank goodness for inspections though. That is not the kind of stuff you want to find after you have already bought the house.
Hope everybody has a nice holiday weekend!
-
E, you eat with your toes? I just use my knees! You're a better woman than I am!

Oh !!!!! Love the blue eyed kitty. Hmm, interesting about the Ins. Wabbit. Of course, you expect total "negativism" from conservatives. Good to hear what is coming though. It has been sooooo needed in this country. Bad news of course, for all the profit mongers that this -- one of their huge favorite gold mines will be shutting down. I will feel sad for them....a few millenniums from now.
Yay for almost bf, E. He has more treats in store from you.
Jackie
