I agree it's about good health, however, since my cholesterol was 365 when I started my weight loss plan, I am hoping that with all the weight loss and so is my doctor that the cholsterol will come down significantly.  My cholesterol definantly doesn't need to be that high.  I'm suppose to be taking Lopid twice a day.  Those pills are huge!!! I can't remember to take them before my meals.  They aren't helping me so I'm bad.  Yell  O.k. enough for my complaining.  I'm going to try and do better.

Mimi--no one says we can't complain!  Good nutrition and exercise should help with the cholesterol numbers, too, just another benefit!

And a motivating reason to keep up the good eating and exercising habits.  Our health does improve so let's all try and do better.

hey mimi, my cholesterol is high too.  I found a lipidologist and I'm on Niacin and fish oil. It has come down some already, but it needs to be lower. What is Lopid? Is that a statin? My mom had muscle problems with statins and I'm afraid to try them.

Of course, losing weight is on my list...

NM, glad you liked the video, me too!  Really does motivate you to move.

Renee, can you cut those horse pills in half?

Found out my employer is considering mandated health assessments.  Apparently, they can't offer lower health ins premiums for healthier people but will give incentives for healthy habits ($$ for meeting benchmarks) and penalties for unhealthy habits (surcharge on smokers).

Not sure what to think.  Yes I am trying to be healthier, and I'm all for extra cash, but I'm still reluctant.  I don't want them to have my personal health info.  Who knows what else they'll do with it?  And, I've always been better at something if it's voluntary.  Like hanging out with you guys!

Badger--I think it would be good if you asked some pointed questions about how that info will be used, who will have access to it, what kind of security is on it, and for a list of other companies/agencies that work with the insurance company and how the insurance company protects your info once it goes out to one of those other places.  and maybe get some other people to ask similar questions.  If enough concern is raised you'll either get good answers or management will give that idea up as too much work and risk.

Those kinds of programs can be very good, but they really need to be voluntary.  You cannot force people to change habits that way, if that were true every time the tax on cigarettes when up large numbers of people would quit, and research shows that doesn't happen.  A person needs to be ready for and want change for it to happen.

Roadrunner checking in - it's still Friday to me!

    3 pts for check in

219.6 - 2 pts for down!  I didn't teach yesterday, so no long drive, late night snacking and soda, so the weight stayed down from Wednesday.  Now if I can just keep it going that way

6 pts for exercise - installing art in a pop-up gallery, hanging a new show at work, lots of walking, bending, carrying, sweeping, hammering, etc.  Need more core work to go with it.  But tomorrow is our biggest day this year, so after that I get a break.

5 pts for water - I forgot to take my water bottle and was too busy a couple of times.

16 pts total!  I'm shooting for more pts net week.

NM, do not, repeat, do not, ever be too embarrassed.  We are friends and all have been/are there.  So much love between us we carry one another.  So I herewith award you those 3 Friday points.

    Enjoy your weekend friends.

Thank you patoo.  I am baffled about how I can gain almost a pound a day when I'm eating under my calorie limit, even if I'm not exercising like I know I should. I mean, really!

Great job birdies and NM, I second what patoo said. ♥

When I gain like that it's sometimes because I'm not eliminating waste apace with food intake.  That's a nice way to say a good poo may help.  Things that help me in that dept are water and walking and an apple a day.  :-)

Badger--thanks for the advice.  I don't think I'm having any trouble in that department, but I will up my water intake a bit and see if that helps.  I've been more tired than usual this last week or 2, maybe I'm coming down with something.  And I am recommitting to walking more.  Something will give soon, right?

    Thank you very much!

I had one piece of sake on my birthday, then last night DH remembered we had the rest of the cake in the fridge.  It was an expensive cake so we didn't want to waste it. So we had another piuece of it last night.

Today is DS2's birthday and FDIL called last night and asked if I would bake his cake.  More sweets, darn it!!!

Badger, NO Lopid is not a statin.  They usually give it more to treat high triglycerides, but I have developed an allergy to statins (Simvastatin specifically) and I broke out in hives.  Can't take them anymore.  I itched to death till I finally stopped them.  Lord knows I tried everything else thinking that was the culrpit that caused the itching, but not.  The generic name if Gemfibrozil (sp?)  but no I don't think you can cut them in half they are enteric coated.  I've been very bad about taking them since I'm working 11-7 and you are suppose to take 30 mins before eat twice a day.  I usually have a snack when I get up from sleep and 3 or 4 and then eat supper... so I don't usually eat 2 or more meals unless I'm off.  I go on 7-3 shift starting April 1 and maybe I can do better.  They haven't checked my cholesterol since I've lost so much weight.
