HAPPY FRIDAY...Michael is going to florida tonight with older son to Phillies training camp, thank goodness, wish I could get rid of the other one for a period of time...
-
oooo- looks yummy! Happy Birthday! Glad you made good money and have a chance to make more! It's so nice to be able to earn money...(or so I imagine - lol)
Val - the hair down the shirt - I can SO relate. I have long hair and I used to get a hair down my shirt - EVERY day - and I'd have to try to find a time when I could stick my hand down there and take it out without being rude. Not being well endowed, it wasn't hard to find the hair. I haven't had as much of a problem with it lately because I'm doing a better job combing all the loose hairs out of my head when I shower in the morning so there aren't as many falling all over me all day. Either that or my hair is thinning and I just don't have as much to fall out...
Hope you hear good news from the Dr today, Sheila.
Hope you are feeling better today, Sandy.
My Dr. says my ear problem is from my sinuses - they are all connected (I knew that - just wasn't sure if I might have 2 separate problems). She said I might have to take the Flonase forever, but I can cut it to 1 spray to try to reduce the drying and to use a saline spray. I had bought a sinus irrigator, but never used it when I read that you can't use tap water unless you boil it (so you don't inadvertently spray amoebas into your sinuses where they can get into your brain and kill you) and I didn't want to deal with that - boiling it and waiting for it to cool - or I could use distilled water, but I don't know how to store that - how long it's good for once opened. Dr. says if I have city water, I don't have to boil it because it's chlorinated. Well, I have to do something to get rid of this crap in my sinuses once and for all.
She also said maybe I should try to cut dairy and/or gluten out of my diet - that might help all my problems. Like I don't have enough problems feeding my family...
Corned beef turned out ok. I scraped the gross fat off the outside, but there was a gross layer of fat right in the middle - I told them to cut around it. I said this is why I make this only once a year. DD heated up leftovers when she got back from rehearsal last night and overheated it and made beef jerky - lol.
-
lol Chris, on the beef jerky!

-
Great news, Sheila - so glad to hear you are healthy! Keep up the good work!
omg - I just tried to sign DS up for the SAT - I ended up in a loop where it kept making me fill in the same info and got a message he already had an acct. So I had to call and ask wtf is going on. He already did have an acct from when he took the PSAT - apparently the school set it up or something - he said he didn't set it up, but they did tell them to log on and check their scores... Could they have told us?! What if it was the night before the registration deadline and I thought I could just hop on and register him the way I did for DD and then had these problems?! F-ing school and their piss poor communication. Grrrrr.
-
Chris....hugs
Linda...funny with the carrot
hi Ducky...♥

Hey Sheila, and Sandy, and everyone else......hugs

Hey Sheila - so glad you are healthy! I recommend some hummus with that carrot.
Chris - it sounds like you are doing just fine so far. Corned beef jerky!!!
As for the dumbass plumber - he is eating a lot of cost - 5 guys for 5 hours plus the drywall and painting etc. He was apologetic and a gentleman. My general contractor was outstanding - arrived with 20 minutes and started by saying not to worry, that he would cover all the costs. It was not something I wanted to happen but these guys are making it okay.
Meece - hope you are having a fun time in the Bay Area - could you go check on my little one?
Joan - you have been missing - thinking of you.
Sandy - hope you are eating and sleeping!
Hugs to Ducky, Deb, Linda, Valjean, ptdreamers, chabba, ray and all other TOL'ers - don't mean to leave anyone out.
Heading up to the cabin in the morning. We are invited to the birthday party of the winery owner - it should be quite the event. Can't exactly bring wine, now can I. However, since she wants for nothing and would expect nothing, I decided to bring something fun. She is 55 so I got her double nickel buffalo head earrings. Cheap but maybe a little creative? Since I am not drinking alcohol, I will probably be the boring one.
-
Congrats, Sheila, on your good lab report!! Yay!! I have lost a few pounds myself, I cut out ice cream. I was having a small bowl several nights a week. (geez, did I just admit that out loud??) I didn't want any in the freezer when we went away for Christmas & didn't buy any when we came home. And I have also stopped eating after dinner.
Have a wonderful time at the cabin, Diane!
Have a fabulous weekend everybody!!
-

Sweet dreams!
-
Glad they are having fun in FL - must be warm. I hope the wind dies down by morning. I hate wind. Unless it's hot out - but then there is never any wind.
Mom is ok- depressed now that she knows she has more than just a bad memory. and I have been a bad daughter and haven't been going over. I have been a little busy with this new job thing (and my own dysfunctional brain that is making the new job more difficult than it othewise would be), but I could have made an effort.
I was off this weekend - working M,T, W - and that's all I know for now. I have another training class the next week I have online stuff to do in the meantime. I hope it doesn't take me another 12 hrs...there aren't any course duration times printed so I don't know how long they think it will take...
-
You are a good daughter, Chris. That is just so difficult to deal with.
You will do awesome with the job. DO you like it so far?
-
I'm too stressed out to like it. I think I have developed a bit of social anxiety (starting 5 yrs ago - so it's not new) so working with the general public is probably the worst thing I could have chosen to do. I really need a back office type job where I work only with my coworkers - but since I'm not qualified to do anything, I had to find something where I could learn how to do it quickly and cheaply so this seemed doable. Now if I could just remember anything I learned for the exam I took 6 mos ago or anything that I'm learning now... I'll just keep plugging along. One day at a time.
-
Chris, still LMAO about the amoebas...I always knew there was a reason I refuse the irrigator...just couldn't put my finger on it...oops that was BAD!!! also...the beef jerky...perfect!
Chris for some reason you are having to face your phobias with this job. I have every confidence that you will be the totally confident on the job in the near future. Oh - a little advice...from this point forward, find a place to keep ALL your kids' stuff...I remember exactly the same thing...they wanted the old psat login years later...what are they thinking??? same happens with the darned financial aid; their first income tax (cannot file next year unless you have your log in pin and the amount of your taxes from the previous year). But it will be YOUR job to keep all that stuff because they will be at college doing nothing about the essentials because they can't log in.Val, hope you are up late tonight! I am usually up late but this past week, I was so exhausted from work and long hours and stress that I fell asleep after work every night...would wake up and try to go to bed then would lie awake for hours...if DH even breathes out loud I’m livid…let alone a snore sneaks out. But when I fall asleep and it’s time to get up.
Sandy, I hope you are doing better with your sleep....have you been working lately?
I got a Rx from my MO in February for Letrozole and I asked for Xanax. I took them to be filled today, and CVS called and said they can't fill a controlled substance after 30 days. I never heard that before! So, I have to ask for another. I'm trying not to take sleep aids as I get too wired when they wear off. This is what happens when I'm not on the boards for most of the week...I just ramble on and on....
umm but that's what I usually do.
Love catching up here...
(((TOL))) -
Yay, great NCAA basketball today. My MI Wolverines & that "other" MI team, MSU, won their games! (MSU isn't so bad, I do watch them if MI isn't on-don't tell anyone. They DON'T like each other) And MI Wolverines hockey team won, move to the CCHA championship game tomorrow & then continue to NCAA tournament. All this is probably very boring to all of you. But that's what I did today, watched sports & did laundry.
I am thinking of leasing a car later this year. Any likes or dislikes about it?? I've never done it, always purchashed the vehicle outright. (love it when it's paid for & no payments for a while.)
Boy, my carpal tunnel is really bothering me. My right hand is partially numb right now as I type. I hate it! I've been wearing my splint every night lately. Seems to be getting worse though. No, I haven't gone to a Dr. about it. I really don't want to have to have surgery. If I can make it through one more year on this AI; really more than that because due to a mix-up last year, I am way ahead on the pills so I will be extending way past next Feb in taking it. And I'm starting to have numbness in my left hand as well. Will probably have to get to Walgreen's & buy a left-handed splint. OH, JOY!!
