Thanks Diane!
And my snow is starting at about 10. There better be school tomorrow! I hate when the kids have to go to school through June! We should be at the beach!!
-
Rain, I guess we can't complain out here with what oursisters in the east are coping with.
-
-
-
Linda...Are you having fun......
-
-
Ptdreamers is right - we really cant complain. I like to look at snow, for a while. Its all very romantic unless you have to leave the recliner to deal with it in someway.
One of my extra daughters is here this week, home from architecture school in MD/DC. This is one of the girls who lived with us for a time in high school/junior high and came to love cooking. So when she is home, she dirties my kitchen in an effort to recreate all kinds of meals she has had in DC. Tonight we are having grilled bruschetta, asparagus with poached eggs and hollandaise, thick applewood bacon and who knows what else. Hard to believe she will be ready to start practicing in one more year. She feels fairly unsafe at U-MD at night so being here is just super relaxing.
-
Snowed here when I was driving home from work. Did not accumulate yet.
Sandy, DH said I shouldn't buy a car I saw on Friday....I'm just confused and glad my car is running OK.Any word from Chris on how the job training went?

Hey there Deb!
-
Snow is leaving NY to mess up with other States........
Diane....Cooked and cleaned now that's a real treat.....
-
Hi Sheila, is Annette able to come to NY this year?
pt - I have not heard of buying a car through Costco. I am not a member...is it only for new cars? I'll take any help i can get...
Sleet and rain here
-
Joan.....According the FB...she can't wait.......
-
Hi raincitygirl God bless You all!
-
Hi Foots!
Snowcitygirl - lol.
So you can buy cars at Cosco - wow - you can buy everything there. I don't have one near my house, but my friend buys a lot of stuff there - she likes it because if she has any problems with anything, they have been good about taking things back. I'm too afriaid to take things back.
Well, here I am up at 5:30. Been awake since "D"H got up at 4 to go to the bathroom. Same as the night before - couldn't get to sleep - freaking out scared about training - then woke up when he got up and and then couldn't go back to sleep. How am I supposed to learn when I'm a zombie from not sleeping. I can't retain any information for more than 2 seconds...
Got to sleep a little earlier last night - since I was exhausted, but now it's been cut short. Plus I had ice cream before I went to bed and now my stomach is burning...yay.
Delayed opening for school. And I bought some corned beef to do corned beef and cabbage in the crockpot - I'm a little behind...lol. Was stressing so much about work that I forgot I wanted to do corned beef on Sunday until Sunday when it was too late - duh. I hope it isn't too fatty. i don't know how to buy a good piece of meat - can you buy a good piece of corned beef? Well, I guess we'll see later at suppertime - assuming I don't forget to put it in the crockpot - lol.
Was in class all day- didn't work at the register or do a scavenger hunt, thankfully. I didn't participate much in class - like I said -couldn't retain anything. I took notes and still didn't write down everything I needed to to answer questions...
Then I had homework for Thursday's class. I did one module - mistake - I was so tired, it was taking me forever to get through it and in the middle, DD came into the kitchen looking for sympathy for being sick. I do feel bad for her - but she makes me mad also - doesn't take the meds like I tell her - and then comes to me looking for sympathy because she doesn't feel good - duh. So, I interrupted my training module to take her temp - no fever. Had taken her to the clinic to get her some Rx cough meds on Sunday. I'm just hoping I don't get her cough - couldn't work coughing the way she is. I'll have to ask the doctors what they do when they get coughs that last for days like that - do they take that many days off from work? When I was sick in January, I was coughing up a lung for days. Can't miss that much work - what do people do? If you have a desk job, you can cough at work, but working with the public...can't do it.
I go into the store today for 4 hrs. I think I will be on a register in the front. Why am I trying to do this job? I am not a people person. I'm a hide in the back doing support work kind of person. I'm ok with my coworkers - I can get to know them - but dealing with the public? No good at it. I guess I'm really doing this job in the hope that I will work in a hospital someday - hidden away from patients...
I hope I can survive work today. I am such a mental case.

Hi Foots!!
Good Morning to all!
FREAKING SNOW SUCKS! Kids are ou shoveling now, they are thrilled! They have a 2 hour delay so I put them to work. They were thrilled when I pulled them out of bed! Going to rain/icy next and then snow again later. I WANT SPRING!
-
I bought my corned beef at Costco last week. I was disappointed. Ther ewas a lot of waist because there was the fat side and the fat was marbled 2/1 to the meat. Guess I will go back to Vons where I usually buy it.
Chris, please relax and don't be so hard on yourself.
I got called in to work yesterday. I was supposed to work in the health office at a High School. Started the training on that when I got reassigned to Special Ed. I was the only sub who was on the Spec Ed list on site. That's okay because Spec Ed pays a bit more.
-
Glad you are able to work, Meece. I forgot that corned beef and cabbage takes as long as it does in the crockpot - according to the recipe I have, so I decided to make it tomorrow. Sorry yours turned out fatty.
I tried to get some more sleep - didnt really work. I realized it wasn't the ice cream that was causing my stomach to burn- I had taken some Excedrin last night - felt a migraine coming on - I think that's what caused the burning. Ice cream might not have helped, but I don't think it was the cause. I haven't been able to buy the gel coated Excedrin migraine and the regular tablets have irritated my stomach in the past... phew - would hate to think I can't have ice cream anymore - lol.
-
Sorry about the fatty Corned beef. Good luck with your Chris!
When I used to work in the schools, many years ago, I was the only one on the Special Ed sub list. Poeple subbed once and never returned. Sad. I truly enjoyed it.
-
I enjoy it. I was in the freshman SDD class yesterday. 10 students, one teacher, 6 classroom assistants.
-

Diane, how is washington, and wish I had someone cook for me, lol
Happy Tuesday...quiet here....
-
Chris, You don't buy the cars from Costco. You tell them what make I.e Toyota and they tell you what dealers that work with them are in the area. You go to the dealership and there is generally one salesperson who works with Costco and shows you what they have. I don't know about used cars as I didn't buy that but I did find that deals were better with Costco. Also you arn't limited to just one dealer if its a popular brand.
-
Enjoy the quiet Sandy!
I didn't know that about Costco either. Interesting! -
