Too funny for words: Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, Michelle Bachman, Newt Gingrich, and Sarah Palin, or more accurately, Biggest Loser, Loudest Mouth Who Says Nothing, Crazy Lady, Second String Loser, and Greediest Quitter. If this is what passes for GOP leadership then the Dems could run an actual donkey and still win the next election.

Talk about someone who should've had their background (and IQ) checked more thoroughly. Ms. Palin should be careful when making these kinds of cracks unless she's actually trying to remind everyone of how stunned we all were when we found out how incredibly dumb she was. Please go back to Alaska, or Arizona, or wherever you're living these days and leave us alone. We've moved on and were trying to forget one of the most poorly vetted candidates in recent history!

“More background checks?” she said, railing against new gun control proposals offered by Democrats in Congress. “Dandy idea, Mr. President. Should’ve started with yours.”
Oh, I get it, because no one really vetted Obama, except for, well, everyone.
What a grating woman. Still flogging the same lies and distortions. On the plus side, she is a prime architect of the Republican party's slide into obscurity. So keep it up, Sarah. You country needs you.
-
Yes Sarah, and Ann Coulter is only a heartbeat and lie behind. Two of the biggest twits there are who will go down with the sinking Republican ship --- indeed speeding the demise. It's early but if I had to say based on what I've seen so far...... most of the potential possibilities will barely make it pass the front door....they are out of step, out of time and out of current reality. If I was hoping for at least a small amt. of challenge there is going to have to be some grueling work to be done here.
Add Info just came out with a piece about Coutler and Cpac where she calls former Pres. Clinton a forcable rapist. REALLY !!!! Sinking to new lows here and doing her party not one iota of a favor. Last time I saw anything former Pres. Clinton had a pretty high rating. If you want to self destruct, I think she could give you some great lessons.

Coming back to add those comments you put on Athe are priceless-ly descriptive. I had written what I did ( since I am laboriously slow ) before I realized they were there. I'm glad to see that my opinions though worded a bit different were about right on with people from all over the place. This is why there is a place called the 'Loser's Corner' which is C-pac crowded right now.Jackie

I think tis could happen:

I always thought that Ted Cruz reminded me of someone and I could never figure out who.....but seeing this picture tonight it jumped out at me......he looks like the little guy on the Addams Family without make-up. I don't remember who the character was...maybe he was Grandpa.

From CPAC on Saturday:

-
I don't believe Sarah Palin lacks intelligence. I believe she's willfully ignorant, which is even worse.
She wants to be the star, the center of attention, and she doesn't need any liberal book-learnin' for that.
Plus she has really nice hair.
Good morning, all!

E - First person I know of who agrees with me. I think Sarah Palin is VERY intelligent, but her brains are not for intellect - they are for cunning and self-promotion. Her ignorance is willful insofar as she doesn't consider truth a necessity.
'Mornin' back at ya!
-
ETA: Reminds me of a goat I used to know - intellectually shallow, emotionally immature and mean, mean, mean. Not stupid, though.
-
When I hear c-pap I think of the breathing apparatus that a lot of people with sinus/snoring problems wear. Come to think of it, it looks a bit like an elephant's trunk!
-
Everyone's mean at some point or other.
Hey - three deer just ran by outside! Amazing, considering there's just a 200' strip of woods between my house and the highway. Thankfully, there's also a fence between the woods and highway.
A good omen for the new day!
-
Is that 200 yards? How many metres? (Hopelessly stuck in the metric system, I'm afraid).
I think we can all DO mean but some ARE mean.
-
Not yards, feet. 61 meters?
-
Glenna - I kept hearing CPAP, too! Or CRAP. One or the other. ;-)
-
No deer here, obviously, but the birds are chirping away as though it were still dark - or, rather, you can still hear them. That is when you know it is Sunday in the city.
ETA: Ah - of course - duh me! Thank God for the fence!

C'mon guys, din't be afraid of Palin. Be greatful. She proves how stupid the Republicans are!

She is the gift that keeps on giving, as many commenters on the NYT pointed out.

Interesting reading out in cyberspace....
This wins the CPAC award for most disgusting........

It is encouraging to see that some people can evolve:
"GOP's Rob Portman announces support for same-sex marriage"
"Portman said he also considered his Christian faith, which led him to decide that “in a way, this strengthens the institution of marriage.”
“The overriding message of love and compassion that I take from the Bible, and certainly from the Golden Rule, and that fact that I believe we are all created by our maker, that has all influenced me in terms of my change on this issue,” Portman said, according to Cleveland.com.
“Especially proud of my dad today,” Will Portman tweeted on Friday with a link to the Columbus Dispatch op-ed."

I know someone on here had recommended the PBS show, "Women who Make America."
You can watch it on their website:
http://video.pbs.org/video/2273015711/
I highly recommend it! We've come a long way, baby!
Gloria Steinem, of course, is featured. I remember her talking about Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann a few years ago. She had remarked:
"But it’s important to remember that though they (Palin and Bachmann) are in the news, they are not in the majority," Steinem continued. "And though they get elected, there's a huge race and gender differential on who votes for them. And if you were to add the governor of Texas, Rick Perry, they are the people our founders came to this country to escape," she told the lunch crowd. "They’re the same people, right? They're trying to say God looks like me and not like you, and to use that politically to make a religious base. And so it is really a kind of rerun."

I am more serene today. We went into the city to have dinner with my ds and dil in their new apartment. That and the wine seemed to help. The whole problem with the buyers is that they want the farm equipment in a separate deal for tax purposes. That is fine with us, but we have to be careful how it is worded so that the gov't doesn't come back to us. The language barrier doesn't seem to help. Our agent is worth every penny he is being paid!!
GG...I can't imagine doing this without having the excitement of our new place to look forward too. We will be very sad and emotional when we leave this place, but we truly know that we have nothing more to give or gain from the farm. It is nice to know that the young couple buying, love the place and are excited to put their own roots down here.
Enjoyful...the basement bathroom in our new place reminds me of a beautiful horse stall in a classy barn. I have a yearning to put a saddle on a saddle rack in the corner and hang a bridle on the wall. My dd would have loved it!

Belinda, did I ever say that you know how to find the truth of a sitation and then file it down to a very strong point with other very pertinenet information. In fact so many of you here do that.
I seldom worry about what I read here for the SHEER majority of other people all over the U.S. feeling just the same as evidenced by an election so CLEARLY won by the Democratic candidate.
As far as Portman -- yes, he did do an about face and actually chose to see since, he believes in a God ( no judgement here as I'm more spiritual than religious ) and found himself tested and in my opinion chose the high road. He chose to recognize that we are not all made the same and that the God that holds him, holds everyone regardless. It is a matter of compassion and understanding for differences.
Just speaking to that, it has always mystified me, what is so hard to understand ( there are gays in my family ) that this is not a personal choice. This is how a person/soul really is and they have been forced to live a life not one of us could envy. Many times I have questioned just who is the BETTER person here. So, I say hats off to R. Portman. He has learned something very valuable about life -- there are some things we are not fit to judge, and have just taken upon ourselves. I learned not to make that particular mistake but I'm sure I'm likely to be guilty of others.
Palin's and Bachman's of the world --- what can I say about them, after I get done laughing -- nothing. Not worth my breath most of the time because there is no foundation there. They are Republican party props which would be a job I wouldn't want. Losers' corner material.

Spell checker must be yukking it up somewhere....sorry.

I thought this was semi noteworthy (cough) at CPAC. Donald Trump draws about 3 dozen people:

Sara Palin "willfilly ignorant?" Hmmm...I'm not sure after the Katie Couric interview. Who says stupid things like "I can see Russia from my house" (yes, this was Charlie Gibson interview, but I mostly remember her being flustered by Katie's simple questions). Whatever she is, she does provide endless entertainment when she's forced to answer real questions by the real media. On her own, in an insulated enviroment, she just grates on me. I watched about a paragraph of dribble from her at CPAC and it was the same old same old lipstick on a pig stuff plus a little more hate speech. Red meat for her kind, I guess.
There are some of her followers who actually think us liberals "fear her." I wonder, is that fear in the sense we think she is powerful and could become POTUS one day or that we fear for our country if she should miraculously became POTUS one day? It's such a preposterous sentiment - but then, if you live in Sara's world, it is understandable. I have no fear of her - she is laughable.
Speaking of Sara's hair, yes it is beautiful, but after entering and exiting the wig world with this cancer, I'm now suspcious of "good hair" like that on anyone. We live in a world of extensions for those on tv.

Even though the snippets of C-Crap I catch make me want to projectile vomit, I AM grateful that they are out there showing just how ugly they are. In this case, sunlight is the best disinfectant, and they are giving the press and the Democrats plenty of revolting sound bites for the next election. If anyone can say they are "undecided" after listening to some of the racist, hateful, homophobic bile spewing from their mouths, then they are either not listening or they're really not undecided. Ugh. So, let the crazy flow and turn off anyone who might have thought that there were reasonable people there.
I must disagree with the assessment of Snowdrift Snooki's intelligence. I think she is stupid -- both in IQ points and will to apply them. She is a cunning scavenger, like a coyote or a dingo, but I don't believe she is intelligent as in able to form grand theses and have a plan for anything outside her own empty head of hair.
And as for Mann Coulter -- again, vile and disgusting aren't words enough to describe that air thief, but keep it up, Mr. Coulter. The more hate you spew, the more independents you drive away.
The absolute hysterical part is that they keep saying, "Our vision is sound, our principles are right, the people LOVE our ideas and our platforms. They just don't like the way we say it. We need better messaging." Apparently when Bobby Jindal told them they needed to stop being the party of stupid, they weren't listening. I think someone feeds them LSD, because they ARE delusional!
Good luck, PiP and GG, on your respective house sales and purchases. Uprooting and changing are very difficult. I'm not looking forward to my turn in the moving van! And good luck with your mooooove, EEEEEE. Country life is peaceful!
