Checking in with you wonderful ladies...
Happy Birthday to you, Traii! I hope your day is(was) wonderful, and that SOMEBODY spoiled you!
Jealous of liefie on the beach.......wish I was there!
Scottiee, enjoy your break! You teachers deserve more of them than you get!
Nihahi, sorry that which cannot be named is paining you...little does it know that its exhistence (sp?) is doomed! Getting excited for you to be on the other side of surgery!
Edi-you are the bomb-diggity! (And you have a lovely family, too!)
Caitlin, hope your SEs don't linger too long.....don't want that truck parking on you!
Websister, hope you are doing ok.....
Lovmy, how are goats?
Dakota, hope that the appt. with exterminator goes well.....I think having kids involved in sports is a wonderful distraction......I had a daughter who played soccer all through college, and when she was done, and her cleats hung up, I was the one who was SAD!
Getting 2nd opinion Wed. on further (or no) treatment.......
Hope everyone else is doing okay.......I think you are all the most amazingly STRONG women in the world!
Namaste and God Bless Jackie

Hi everybody x
Mucowhatsit is fading beautifully
the mouthwash of salt and bakingsoda seems to have saved my sanity.
Soooo cold here yesterday we had a little snow, and even though I felt like going out decided to just keep warm and catch up on jobs around the house.
Wrinkly fitting window blind today, so pic of bathroom on way. DH has decided that the loo roll holder is in the wrong place ????? He catches it with his shoulder when he sits on the throne. Wrinkly I hope will move it which entails a new tile being put in.
Nihahi, Totally agree, you and me causing trouble nooooo we are positively saintly aren't we ? Balls to that, perish the thought.
Hope twsnbn iced nicely, ED and I are having a taster class of BELLY DANCING

-
OK.....could someone please explain the "cyber-bug" that seems to have got a few of us!!!!! Was really tired yesterday and actually took anafternoon nap, which is something I never do. Woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat and aches and pains!!! WTH.....!!!!! Haven't been sick in over a year, and now, 31 days out....I'm sick....CRAP!!!!! Another "pothole" to crawl out of....
On a good note, I finally got the rental of a recliner organized for my post op at home time. Deposit paid, delivery organized for while I'm in hospital, so it'll be waiting for me when I get home. Another "pre-op" item crossed off.
Short message today...thinking of everyone....gonna go see if I can spot that comet....Edi, have you had any luck?
-
Hi girls,
So sorry to read that some of you are not feeling so good, so I will not spend too much time here - don't want to catch that cyberbug, not now!
I am happy for those who finished treatments, and who will finish shortly. It feels really good to have it behind you.
DH went waterskiing this morning while I watched from the beach in the shade of a tree. He had a big smile on his face the whole time behind the boat. After rads one has to be careful, so there I am, big sunhat, slathered with sunscreen all over, in the shade. Now and then I emerge to take a quick swim when it gets too hot. Exactly one year ago I was dealing with the SE's of my first chemo . . . can't believe how far I've come, and that life can be this good again.
Trying to keep up with the posts. All the best to everbody!
-
Feeling a little better today, tummy making weird and whacky noises though
.Took DS to kindy this morning and went shopping with mum.. Back home exhausted. Sorry Edi and Nihahi, I passed on the cyber bug..;(
Nihahi, you are making me worried with all this pre-op and post-op stuff.....no one has given me any information yet on what I need, so I am just waiting for a letter confirming the date and other relevant info in the mail....arghhh waiting waiting !!
Well glad edi you have swallowed last set of C pills
enjoy your 2 weeks off hun
I'm off until around May just need date for surgery.
Booking a place for our little family holiday in April just after Easter , can't wait .
Talk later girls......might get a little nap ( or just relaxation time) while DS has his little nap
!!! -
OOOOOhhhhhhh Traii.....no, no, no...don't mean to be upsetting you, I'm so sorry. You're having a totally different surgery from me this time. I had a radical mastectomy, and delayed implants in the past. Even with that, the physical recovery wasn't that hard. The mastectomy was the hardest, physically and emotionally. Physically, the biggest challenge was not getting behind on the range of motion, but was totally doable. Because you've already done the node thing, and (if I remember right) are having skin sparing mastectomy, I'm thinking it won't be such a uphill climb for you. Also...you're a fighter, you'll be good, I know it. Get a few front button tops, maybe a front closure bra, you'll be leaving everyone in the dust, I have no doubt!!!!!!!! I'm sure you'll get more info from your PS, closer to your date. If not, ask for advice. You shouldn't have any need for special stuff at home...maybe a few extra pillows, and probably won't be allowed to do much lifting for a short time. You also have family like Mom, close by, who will take good care of you.
TOTALLY DIFFERENT SURGERY AND SUPPORT SYSTEM THAN ME, DON'T GET STRESSED BY WHAT I'M DOING TO PREPARE!!!!!!
Clear, beautiful night sky here.....pretty sure I've spotted the comet, but tomorrow I'm going to drag out the telescope to make sure.
-
Lol Nihahi its all good

I know it will be ok just more wanting it over and done with..i am going to hate the recovery bit more than anything;(
Get that telescope out and see thst comet. Glad its a clear night for you.
Change here was wind and still very very humid (sigh)!! -
ok Traii......phew, relieved to hear I haven't freaked you out re: surgery! Momma Edi would be very upset with me! Course, she's out Belly Dancing, so shhh....don't tell her I scared you!!!!. I soooo get the "just want it over" scenario.
Probably will be a good thing to have a bit of a wait though. Wouldn't want to be "recovering" when it's as hot and humid as you have now...yucko! Hope your tummy settles down soon.
Weather here is typical spring insanity. Tomorrow it's supposed to be +12 and sunny, Friday it's supposed to be -13 and snowy! It's no wonder really, that so many people around here have colds this time of year. Was supposed to go snowshoeing tomorrow, but cancelled that plan. Just heard on the evening news that the grizzly bears are starting to come out of hibernation, almost a month early......several have been spotted in the mountain parks. Maybe time to hang up the snowshoes for the season, ya think?
OK, now that I know you're doing ok, it's off to bed for me. Almost midnight here.
Liefie...better stay in the Turks....sounds like Van Island is getting soaked with rain again.
Caitlin, Sheryl, Jenn, Movie, Luvmy, Websister, Carla, DAKOTA!!!!!! (((((X)))))
Benny......are we ever going to hear from you again????? Think about you often.
-
Hi sisters x
Nihahi, Sorry your not well, felt a bit yuk last evening lots of sneezes and shivery but seems to be gone this morning phew.
Can't believe you actually had a nap ! you are another duracell bunny must have had a wobbly battery. Go with it, I now give in and balls to anyone who says anything. lol
Sky here last night was a thick blue blanket, couldnt even see Sirius
will see if comet is still about tonight.
Belly dancing tomorrow night if can stay awake that long.
Bingo tonight.yippee.
Grizzly bears !!! be careful and hang up thoses snowshoes you are too precious to be chomped by one of them. I am convinced that one may be my DH in disguise, he is on spring leave for 21 days heaven help me. Need to put foot down or I will need a lie down in a darkened room he has sooo much planned.
Sleep well xTraii, Cyber Mummy sad that you are not feeling great. Hope those tummy noises don't result in Johny Cash.
We have the funeral of that friend of my kids today
post mortem showed he had a massive heart attack. His lovely Mum is devestated and now almost destitute. He was Bi Polar and his benefits kept them going after their business failed and his Dad also died suddenly. Now all money stopped. There is always someone out there far worse than us isn't there ?
You will bounce through your op I just know it
your DS is such a sweetie i am sure he will know you need to get better and maybe cant hurtle around after him. your lovely Mum Dad and DH will also be there for you.
We are having GD for sleepover Saturday and she said to DH that she knows Nana not too good so will be extra good.
When all this finished I too want a little break somewhere away maybe Scotland. Hope your little hol is wonderful.xLiefie, You sound like you are in paradise, keep on having a relaxing time and watching your Bunny doing his thing x
Need MORE tea and maybe some cornflakes with hot milk for a change.
Love to ALL see you later xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-
I think its time to hang up those snow shoes nihahi dont want you to run from those bears (sounds like a scene from a movie!!)
I opted for winter surgery recovery...lol hibernation at home then my new girls can come out to play in spring..lol spring times windy but by the sounds of things they will be perky and not going anywhere!!
Cyber mummy johnny cash flowed yesterday!!! Lol
So sad about the friend...so sudden.
My grandma died of cancer and my grandpa walked in hospital and 2 weeks later died. I dont know whats worse..knowing or the unknown...:(
Mum and dad will have DS while i recover...hes demands will be more than i would be able to hsndle!!
Bet you cant wait for saturday
Dinner time here...
Enjoy your breaky xx -
Hi gorgeous girls !!!
Edi- bingo and belly dancing hue fun !!!! Have a great time with dear GD!!!
Nihahi- yes I am in agreement hang up those shoes!!!glad u could cross off that list. I make list so I can cross things off makes me feel good!!! Lol -
Traii- u will sail thru surgey. Don't worry the girls will be happy in the spring !!!!
Liefie- so glad ur having a blast!!
Will check in later girls love to all !!! -
Hi everyone
Edi- same thing happened to me yesterday I had a entire page wrote and lost it! I was mad and didn't rewrite it. I get the oral Mucositis every time last time it was so bad! I have all the fancy rinses and I think the salt and soda work the best it helps heal it and not just numb it.. But I think that goes with me being a Dental Asst.
Sheryl, I have had the same problem with fatigue this go round. I'm so happy for you last one tomorrow number 4 for me. Not looking forward to the week after.
Traii, glad your doing better. My little Rae has the stomach flu and running a high fever it is going around. It makes me so sad because I can't see her when she is sick. That's what I really hate about the "Beast" it doesn't just effect us it effects everyone around us!
Dakota, you sound great!
Caitlin, hope you are doing ok.
Leifie, glad you are fun! Wish I were with you.
Websister, Jenn, Nihahi, Movie, Luvmy, xxoo
Benny where are you?
Bearcub, Bevlee, you both have been missing...
Love you all,
Carla

Hello to all my MUCH braver Warrior sisters!
I got the same advice from 2nd Onc....no tx needed. I don't know how to feel about it, b/c it shows that no matter where you are with this B**ch, you are NEVER done. I just hope with time that my thoughts don't automatically wander to the possibility that *it* could come back.....seems so trivial when compared to what some of you are going through. First Onc had me BRCA tested due to high incidence of Prostate, Colon, and misc. cancers (not to mention my mom's breast cancer) in my family. I feel like a genetic cesspool..... If it comes back positive, he wants my ovaries out pronto. Yay. (And my four daughters will have to be tested-all of them are over 20.)
Got my official Path. report yesterday, and the Onc's office had accidentally given me two pages of someone else's Dr.'s surgical report.....I really didn't realize that it had nothing to do with my info, until I got to her age, and realized she was half as old as I am, with a terrible prognosis.....I was so upset for her I cried all afternoon. ( I shredded the info) Feeling pretty bummed out right now. And I have no reason to feel like this, all things considered!

So happy for you ladies that are nearing the end of your Chemo tx- that is wonderful news!
I think I have caught the cyberbug too. Feel very tired and run down. Def. not getting enough sleep-right now I have a few disolvable sutures that haven't disolved, and have worked their way to the surface, or just under it, on my abdominal incision. Every time I change positions at night, the d**n things wake me up!
So glad I have a place I can be where other women know how I feel.....love you all! XO
Namaste and God Bless - Jackie

Moviemaniac - So this is great news, right. Make darned sure that wrong path report does not get incorporated into your file. I would do this in person if possible. With insurance, etc, all changing next year (well most changes will start slowly this fall) I would want it ABSOLUTELY (yes shouting) certain my file was correct.
I have a left shoulder that doesn't work well in the am. Kind of coming out of joint (I think that is called subluxating). As I warm up, play bit on computer, it's good to go and able to go feed goats and carry partially full water bucket. Rotten cold hanging on, hate snot. DH wears headphone thingies when I start snotting. It is getting better as easier to get ears to pop. Sense of smell back some. Made enchiladas last night and this morning could actually smell peanut butter on my bagel. Small things. Hope your sutures come under control.
DH was off yesterday but I took the opp. to go shopping. Will try to get pictures of goaties posted maybe this weekend. The 2 belonging to the experienced doe are huge. They're going out for the day in the dog run tomorrow to let pen air out. Temp. says 68 degrees out, no wind. Lovely.
-
Movie...that is great news...celebrate we all would have opted for the wrong psth results. Be happy hun

Luvmy so glad you got out and about. Well deserved and bonus..sun shining for you:)
Dakota u sound nice and bright
Edi..good night for u soon. Hope u won at bingo !! -
Sheryl..celebrstion time in your pockets with cake hun!!!
-
Hi Ladies, feeling better today, but still just being lazy as energy not back to snuff yet.
Movie....I swear, if you keep referring to yourself as "un-brave" I'm gonna come down there and THUMP YA!!!!! Hopefully you live somewhere near the coast....I LOVE THE OREGON COAST!!!!! Then when I'm done with you, we'll go photograph some wildflowers together!!!! I put a message on the DIEP 2013 thread about the sutures. Good to hear the 2nd opinion agrees you've done what needs to be done. There will always be occasional thoughts about "what if", but they do get less often with time. Just part of the new reality. Get on with things and enjoy life. Maybe you and I will have a contest to see which one of us spots a Glacier Lily first this year????? But I'm thinking you'll have a head start on me, hiking wise!
Edi, so sorry to hear the struggles your friend will have, after losing her son, yes.....there will always be others worse off, you just need to look outside your own battles sometimes. Good luck with the comet tonight! There's supposed to be a really spectacular one swinging by this November, so if you miss pan-starr, all is not lost. Did you ever convince hubby to get back to the ballroom dancing thing?????
Luvmy....cannot wait to see the babies!!!!! What is it with bc and shoulder issues????? It seems so many of us have them. Not fun, for sure. Have you had your shoulder looked at????
Traii....how's your lympadema doing? Have you got it under control?? Hope the tummy settled too.
Got my pre-op phone call from the hospital today (gulp). The nurse asked about 7 zillion questions, then she said, better come in for the clinic....hmmmm....but I'd rather be checked out as much as possible beforehand. I know my body doesn't like anesthesia, so hopefully the dr.s have some new "cocktails" to give me while I'm under. I'm going to take a box of chocolates up to the nursing floor I'll be on, (I worked with some of the ladies who will be my nurses), after my pre-op clinic. Might as well apologize in advance, in case I'm a "challenging" patient.

Sheryl, Carla.. in your purse tomorrow, don't think the others want me sharing a pocket quite yet!
-
Nihahi, now why wouldn't we want you sharing a pocket ??
My Lymphadema is 'sorta' under control....still swallon, lets see if the extreme heat had anything to do with it and thats why its going down more....( I am 'lazy' when it comes to doing my excercises every day...mind you it's not like I can't do them, its just that when I sit down, thats when I remember then I get lazy so I do my arm ones more) !
Tummys settling, JUST...still talking to me but not so often at the moment. Sitting at work patiently waiting for the time to tick to 1pm home time....its 11:40am at the moment....we aren't that busy and I hate not being busy at work....4 hours just drags on when I can be shopping, or out and about with my little munchkin
!!LOL Love the fact you're taking chocs BEFORE your op...lol...I'm sure you'll be fine. My nanna never took to being 'under' either, always had yucky SEs from the anesthesia....hope they have a new 'cocktail' of meds for you otherwise you're just going to have to brave the alien coming out being awake.....ouch!
Carla, so sorry I missed your post above
I'm sorry to hear your gorgeous GD isn't feeling well either. Its so horrible seeing them ill..... hope shegets better soon so she can come visit you. Glad that mucocitis is clearing up, its horrible. My chest is still a little sore because of all the coughing from it...blah hate it!! damn beast of a thing !!love you all from a not so hot Melbourne today, arghhhhhhh (sigh of relief)

-
Don't you hate it when you think you've kicked a cold, and then it comes back! hmpfff!!!!!
Edi, hope Bingo was fun, fun, fun. Have you now seen the last of wrinkly butt? Good luck surviving hubby's spring break....maybe he'll be content to work away in the garden, and leave you be! Mine retires this coming year, which I'm happy about in some ways, but I also have concerns about being around each other 24/7. I don't plan on giving up my girlfriend time, that's for darn sure!!!!!
Traii...you keep on those lymphadema exercises girl....spend some of that energy of yours on yourself!!!!! You gave me a good laugh with your comment about the "girls" being able to cope with the spring winds! What the heck happens to them now, before your recon?????
Websister..read your latest blog. You rarely seem to put in what most people would consider a normal day! No wonder you're tired. 2 more rads to go, right?! ALMOST THERE, WOOHOO!!!!!
Sounds like Traii and Liefie are having awesome getaways! Edi, you better plan something really special...you certainly deserve it. Traii..where are you going with your family?
Can you believe it is snowing.....again.....2 of my neighbours are leaving today for vacations. One is going to Hawaii, the other to Palm Springs...this time next year, my turn!!!!!
Sorry for the random thoughts. Been up since 3am, with no one to play with.
-
Traii, hope you feeling bit more energetic today and bit cooler.Didn't win at bingo but who cares !! such a laugh Razza Ray the landlord and caller is a hoot.
Your Mum and Dad are such Angels sure DS will be spoilt rotten and you can concentrate on getting the girls all healed and ready to unveil to the world.
I too get too knackered for the excercises, have all these plans but then can't be arsed lol
You just get well and rest if DS allows. xDakota, thoughts with you xx
Sheryl congrats on last one, cake is ready to send but photobucket playing up
will send a.s.a.p xCarla, congrats to you too, also cake on way. Muco is 'orrible isn't it ? Can finally swallow without flinching, glad you agree on mouthwash. Hope GD better ? x
Movie me and nihahi are a force to be reckoned with so stop saying you are not brave or else !!!
Don't look back, we all have questions and maybe regrets but don't let it spoil your life.
Can't believe that path report cock up !! You poor love, must have gone thru hell, also poor girl who it belonged too, how sad.
Hope those sutures get gone real soon.xLuvmy, Hope shoulder eases, mine sore first time ever, think I may have overdone things around the house. hitting it with heat pad.
Can't wait to see baba goats.
DH with headphones and you with snot, hilarious.
Glad sense of smell back, my appetite returning yay.Nihahi, Bingo no win but think you may have teleported here, voice shouts in the middle of game, " Shake up those balls "
Gonna thump movie with you.
FUneral really beautiful and his Mum got hugs off 100 people. Will visit her soon.
No comet sighting
sky still like a blanket. It is around until the 18th so will keep looking. Defo will look at Nov one.
Dreading DH retiring, in Japan highest instances of suicide are of women whose husbands have done just that lol
DH won't go dancing miserable git,
3 am you are worse than me mrs, hope you have had some rest.DH wants to go out and wallet bash again yay. who am I to say no ?
LOve to ALL laters potatoes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-
Morning all...aches today (sigh) woke at 230am...went to move my arm...full off numbness...oh gang on, dont be afraid dear Tracey...it's your DH that thought our bed wasnt big enough (king size already!!) and decided best to sleep on Traceys arm....arghhh.....so nudge nudge kick kick the silly man got up then came back to bed and said 'thanks...itjs only 230am why wake me up to go to work for? I was having the best sleep!!'...i said 'silly fool...of course you had best sleep...on my arm...never said get up for work!!!!'
My day off and who's up early...ME DS still snoring his little bum off!
I woke with damn bin trucks!!
Nihahi...my girls are put in there sleeping bags so its ok...no whirlwind around them on windy days...but with perkys i dont need bags...lol...
What date your surgery again in April (i must write in my diary of upcoming events!)
Never mind Edi....next week u call out bingo! Glad appetite back..hooray!
Sheryl we are all there with you today...can you hear the party blowers for your last EVER chemo?
Nihahi hope u got back to sleep!
Dakota how u doin?
Everyone else enjoy your day -
My new favourite saying, from an email a friend sent to me:
"Sometimes I pretend to be normal, but it gets boring, so I go back to just being me"....LOVE IT!
Seems like this is going to be the never-ending winter around these parts. Really cold again, snowing, windy, freezing fog....yucko! Decided it was a good day to stay home and putter. So far, I've managed to stay home, haven't accomplished much "puttering". Oh well, it's my house, and hubby never complains, so what the heck.
Had a couple worries/questions surface in the wee hours of the morning, so fired off an email to my PS. Surprise, surprise, got a message back from him already, worries calmed down and told to ask away whenever I need to. I JUST LOVE HIM.
Carla, hang in there for the next few chemos. Now there are more behind you, than in front of you!!!!!
Sheryl....woohoo....done and dusted, girl.
Caitlin.......you're being quiet,,,what's up?
Dakota...have you met with the exterminator yet?????
Traii...for the love of dog...BOTH hubby and son snore? You poor thing! He better not have been squishing that lympha arm!!!! When I'm done thumping Movie, I'll be right over to give him a thumping too! Dakota and I...April 12 buddies! OK, so now, I don't think I'll ever be able to crawl into a sleeping bag without laughing my face off. You and your "girls"...too funny.
Edi...cannot believe hubby won't go dancing with you!!!!! Maybe you should just get glammed up, and tell him you'll find another dance partner, and head out! It sounds like something you really were excited about, and would be such a great way to put some of that old confidence back in you! Don't give up on it! ooooh...just had a thought.....tell hubby you're gonna see if wrinkly butt will go with you! (Maybe I should change my name to "balls"????)
Websister...one more day of rads tomorrow!!!!! AWESOME!
Time to make another mug of hot chocolate, with of course, minimarshmallows on top!!!! Gotta keep that tummy around for the new boob!
