hi baby girl, might know on your day off you up before the rest of them. Bin trucks and no DS ?
Had a panic about your arm until  read about DH you are too nice he would have been smothered with a pillow by me lol.
Hope you are going to do something nice today. Retaail maybe ?
I am sodding worn out Cry DH was on a mission, we dashed from place to place for four hours. Holy sxxt I wanted to push him under a bus !!
It's like he never listens to me when I start to flag a bit, just charges from place to place with me staggering along behind him.
Came home and zonked out for half an hour on sofa, bliss. Phone went and his mate woke me up. Then turned up for a cuppa. Lucky he wasn't wearing it.lol.
Put tea in oven, came in to tell him it was almost ready, he was snoring ! had the greatest of pleasure pinching him to wake up and eat. Payback time.
Belly dancing didn't happen as ED has nasty cold just as well really.
Maybe next week if both of us are well enough.
Have a lovely day, hugs xxx

Hello Ladies! Well, I was certainly in a funk yesterday.....today, I almost feel "normal"....well, normal for ME! I can't fathom the moodiness, except it must be end-of-treatment related....but I was very upset about the young woman's path report-for her. I hope she finds this group...you all will help her get through whatever she has to get through, of that I am sure!

Nihahi and Edi ( my mom's name is Edith-she went by Edi) you two had me laughing out loud with your (descriptive) comments! I promise to never whine again....I don't want to get thumped! Nihahi, I live about 1 1/2. Hours from the coast. Used to have a beach cabin down near Newport, Oregon.....sold it when daughter #3 went to college and played soccer.....I was always traveling to games, and none were on the Oregon Coast!

I am not sure I will beat you for the Glacier Lily photo.....if your lovable Grizzlies are already waking up and are out and about.....Mt. Hood is still pretty snowed in. I know you have been to Glacier Park, Montana.....did you ever hike to Iceberg Lake? If so, look at my avatar....that photo was taken a few seconds after I became a member of the "Mile High Polar Bear Club". :-)

Traii-I am laughing about your numb arm (except if it's your Lymph. arm, it's NOT funny)......your DH sounds like mine, except we have a queen bed, and DH takes all but about ....(s**t -I can't remember the metric system....not chemo brain-18 hours +1 more anesthesia brain!). Maybe 15 cms.....I get to balance on that....my poor noobs and I!

LuvMy-any photos of babies, or are you still ailing? :-(

As soon as I can figure out how to get my photos onto photobucket or whatever else there is, I will put up some lovely meadow pics for you all. I just need to get the cotton out of my brain......d**ned anesthesia! Seriously! Nihahi, you must tell me if this is all in my (own) head, after you return from your "noobectomy", okay? (That's what #4 daughter called my DIEP surgery!)

Websister- are you done with rads? Hope you are well.

Dakota, I hope all goes well with the Tamoxifen.....fingers crossed! D**n attorney/exterminator......find a way for her/him to force Cockroach to pay! In the meantime, enjoy the games with the kiddos....they grow up so fast, and then they're gone. I really miss the days of traveling to #3 daughter's soccer games.....right up through college! Sports is a great way to connect with our kids. :-)

To the rest of you wonderful, brave women-I hope you are doing well!

    ((((Hugs)))) to you all!

    Namaste andGod Bless - Jackie

P.S. Nihahi and Edi- come on over and THUMP me any time! I am sure we would have a great time! :-)

This will be a short post - Edi - somehow it seems to me that you would understand when I say that I am absolutely 'knackered' this evening, and that is after a short nap after supper. When I go shopping with my DH lately and he starts to go to fast for me I tell him to slow down, if he doesn't I just walk at my pace, after a bit he starts to realize I'm not beside him and turns to find me.

I am very glad that tomorrow is my last rads, I am a few more shades of pink and the tenderness and tiredness have caught up to me. After rads today I had to take the rental car back and collect my car from the auto body shop - it looks great. A few errands and then it was my return to work class.

Nihahi - sorry to hear you were not sleeping at 3:30, wonderful that your PS is so good and answered your concerns so quickly. Love the excuse for mini-marshmallows in your hot chocolate ;)

Traii - hope you are feeling your arm again, hope you are feeling better

Sheryl - congrats on final chemo!

Carla - #4 down, 2 to go - here's to minimal side effects for both of you!

Dakota - so good to hear that 'Tammy' is treating you well so far; you have enough to handle right now ((())) Enjoy the hockey tournament - my sons is in the city semi-finals on Saturday, hopefully finals after that.

Movie - glad you are behaving, I'd be scared of Edi and Nihahi if I were you

Luvmygoats - hope the shoulder is better - can't wait for pics of the 'kids'

Benny - hope you are counting your rads down now also

    Everyone else - hugs

Movie...you're too funny. Yup, I've hiked to Iceberg, noooo, have never had the wish to join the polar bears! Had to do it as a kid in summer camp...swore I'd never do it again!!!!

I completely believe in post anesthesia/post heavy duty meds "brain". Saw it all the time in my patients, and am gonna play that card if needed for myself! Remember, you've also had the pneumonia thing going on too! Give yourself some credit girl!

Good days, bad days...people not in our shoes have that too, so why not us! It's our new normal!

Websister...someone should sit you down and make you REALLY READ your own posts. Might help you understand where some of your fatigue comes from! On top of the chemo and the rads too.

Dakota.. $$$ issues re: cockroach extermination. So sorry, but you and your kids have already paid an unforgivable price. Good luck at the tournament.....so much fun!!!

Still cold and snowy here....winter never ends!!!!!!!

Ladies when I woke up this morning with the numb arm.. I felt it, still a little dillusional and all and noted it was my left arm and not my right ( lympha arm on right) lol thats why i thought what the !!!

Dakota, I've heard exterminator can cost a lot....guess balls in your court now hey....hardest decision and I know you will make the right one for you and your kids.

I think reverse psychology sounds good for bed time too...I use it quite often and my son is 3!! lol... good luck with tournament....hope you guys raised lots of money for them too the other day. (or was that for soccer ?)

Cyber mummy knows cyber baby too well....retail therapy with DS and mum this morning!! Sun shining, not too hot today :) its nice...not like the weather poor Nihahi is having with her snow storms. Maybe she should have packed her self away in her neighbours bag, I would have gone with the Hawaii trip personally :)

Websister, yeh...last rads congrats hun. You know I always felt more tired with the rads back in the day then the actual high dose chemo and stem cell transplant...you've done extremely well under the circumstances with busy life and mum. How is mum doing ? or should I say mom??

Jackie, yeh laugh, thanks..lol sounds like you have an issue with the 'noobs' being off the bed, mine was my butt cheek the other night...lol......my bed is high off ground so i couldn't even put my hand on floor to balance myself out...so like Edi, the quick pinch ( and little kick!) and I was back on the bed in a minute...lol. ( then my DH wonders why he has a saw this and saw that in the morning) I tell him it's the way he must of slept......lol  (we are not cheeky at all are we ladies) !!

So Carla has finished tx # 4 out of 6 today :) whoo hoo

Sheryl has FINISHED her chemo :) yipeeee

Websister finished tomorrow with her rads and then her skin can begin to heal :) celebration time:)

Edi, you better get a wriggle on with those cakes of yours....lol......( I know its 4am there but bakers do get up at this time to start baking.....well in a couple of hours you'll be down for a cuppa while DH snores his butt off) !!

Benny, hope you all good hun and playing with that giant plush by now.

Friday 3pm here..My son is snoring his little butt off while mummy catches up on some play time on FB...lol ( well not much more I can do house is clean (well as clean as can be with a 3 year olds toys here and there) but its nice and homey :)

Hi Gorious Girls Laughing Edi actually slept for 7 hrs with only 1 wee. Got up and hour later than usual and 2 mugs of tea, large bowl of cereal and now milky coffee later am feeling almost human lol.
44 years ago today walked down the aisle to my" long haired lover from Liverpool" It was freezing and blowing a gale but still the best day of my life.
After evening reception we headed for our little flat on the wirral, stopped at traffic lights I looked at my watch, it was 11.30 I fell apart because if I was ever home that late my Dad thought that giving me a good belt was his idea of discipline. DH gets hold of my hand " we are married " he says with a big grin, he rescued me from a horrible homelife and has kept me safe all these years. Know I moan about him on here but wouldn't swop him for a big clock lol.
We got to our cold flat and then promptly stripped new bed and put on elec blanket we had received as a wedding pressie, while that heated up made a pot of tea and lots of hot buttered toast. Climbed into bed and fell asleep, Oh the romance ha ha.
Next evening went to the bar where we always met our friends and they weren't there. Later found out they thought we would be" too busy" to come out lol.
We are going for a chinese meal tonigh, I adore won ton soup so determined to have a whole bowl and savour every drop.

Dakota, so proud of you, thrilled things moving on, defo he should pay, all his fault least he can do.
Hope you keep ok on tamox.
Have a lovely time at lobster pot tournament.
    Big Hug x

Movie, threat of good thumping certainly worked. You sound smashing, moodiness ha I go from sweet Edi to raging maniac at the drop of a hat poor DH just ducks and runs lol
How lovely Edith your mom's name too. Always beautiful ladies. Smile
Glacier park, iceberg lake wow going to google them sound fab.
I do perch on about 15cms too while DH does impression of star fish in the middle. If you pinch arm inside near top it doesn't leave a mark lol.
Nihahi is right you have been through the mill and pneumo on top really exhausting.
Love noobectomy, aren't our kids great ? x

Websister we are kindred spirits, they do gallop off and like you I just say please slow down. Congratulations on last Rad. you will have to get DH to manacle you to the headboard instead lol x
Glad car back, return to work !! you are amazing, when you going back ?
    Hope Mom ok.
Cold not snowy here hope it warms up there soon x

Carla, hope se's not too bad x

Sheryl, well done cake will be there once I sort photobucket x

Liefie, jealous of the sun and warmth, hope duracell bunny is chillin x

Traii, hope numb arm improves. Nice that heat calmed down.
We are so lovely to DH's aren't we, serves them right for invading our space.
    Sleep well tonight x

Must start moving and tidying up this sxxt pit lol

    Love to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for all the well wishes. I am still in an excited mood knowing the chemo is over. Off to get my neulasta shot and hoping for minimal SEs. However, I can get through it knowing it is the last one now off to start rads in about 3 weeks. The worse part of rads will be the drive, a hour each way because of slow traffic and low speed limits but this too shall pass and I will be so grateful.

    Hugs, Sheryl

Sheryl...just think after rads its done and dusted...chemo, rads and time to move on with your life after BC Smile happy times ahead. Just make sure you have a good CD with you to sing to and from rads !! We will be with you on your drive chatting your ears off....lol.

Sheryl - WOOHOO for last chemo.  I drove 45 minutes into work everyday and went to rads at 0740.  It will pass and though weather (except for storms) would not be a problem for you it is a lovely time to be out and about.  Do you get your pick of rads time?  Mine went smooth as clockwork, no machine breakdowns in and out by 0800 except on doctor day.  With neg. nodes your rads time will prob. be close to mine.  It was like two 45 second zaps.

Dakota - What the heck is a lobster pot tournament?  Hope you get cost of exterminator figured out.

Edi - Congrats on 44 years of wedded bliss.  I'm like you my DH is far from perfect (only one person I know fits that bill Jesus) and sure not me but I wouldn't trade him for anything.  At the moment he is out cleaning out 2nd stall that I was supposed to do.  Enjoy Chinese tonight.

Off to slightly bigger town of west Ft. Worth (Kohls, Target, Marshalls, Ross).  DH has sent me on a shopping errand.  YAHOO!!  Kohls having big sale.  Better watch his wallet (per Edi).  Need Easter dress and prob. use same dress for June wedding.

    Benny, where are you???

TTYL.  It's 1130 and I'm not even dressed.

Edi - congratulations on 44 years! I guess we'll give you the day off from cake baking and decorating - maybe we'll have to make one for you, we'll see what we can do. I am actually feeling a bit of a wimp right now re: work. At Monday's appointment doctor convinced me April 1st too soon so I am now looking at end of June - she suggested returning 'well' in every way.

Manacles on the headboard, eh? ;)

Traii - I agree re: rads fatigue - it really caught me by surprise. Mum (Mom) doing well, I will go out to visit her again tomorrow before I fly off to visit my son and family for a week. Looking forward to the pitter patter of little feet overhead but if I get too tired I may have to use some of that reverse psychology myself

Nihahi - more snow eh? The sun is trying to shine but sounds like possibly 5 cm arriving on Sunday - maybe you'll be able to get some more snowshoeing in before surgery. Yu are right re: sitting down and reading my own posts - I talk a good talk though, don't I? ;)

Dakota - I agree re: hidden costs to you and kids - on my cheques I have a saying imprinted - It's only money - helps me when I'm writing the big ones

    Sheryl - yay!

Luvmygoats - hope you are getting some rest

Hugs to all - off to the bank and then for lunch with friends to celebrate followed by an afternoon nap

Websister, congrats on finishing rads! YAYYYY!!!! Another milestone on your road to recovery, sister! About returning to work, take off more time if you can, and take the time to get fit and well. You are still doing Herceptin too. Just my two cents.

Dakota, congrats on seeing the exterminator. Hopefully you can work out a payment plan with her, but you've taken that important first step. Enjoy your children's hockey! You're always putting your children first, and it shows what a wonderful mom and person you are.

Luvmygoats, we got hold of 4 lobster tails here, and have been thoroughly enjoying preparing and eating it. Took me back to my childhood holidays on the west coast of South Africa where there was always an abundance of lobster, and we caught our own. Mom made the best lobster salad ever. Wish I could send you some!

Can't comment on all the posts, but I'm thinking of you all, and sending my best wishes.

We'll be heading home tomorrow. Wind is blowing really hard today, so we are staying put, and enjoying the view of the windswept ocean from inside the house . . . lol. Hopefully it will die down later so we can go for a last walk on the beach. Yesterday went on a snorkelling trip. Seeing all those colourful creatures of all shapes and sizes underwater around the coral reef never ceases to amaze me, and it blows my mind every time. It is like a whole different world in itself, so quiet, serene and peaceful, just a beautiful experience. So not looking forward to the rain on Van. Island, but that is home, and it is always good to come home again.

Wow.....take the morning off and I'm light years behind!!!! Means we are all getting on with life, right!!!

Edi...44 years, CONGRATS! You must have been just out of diapers when you married!!! Hope you enjoy every spoonful of that soup. Wonton soup and grilled dumplings are how I judge the quality of a Chinese restaurant...if those two things are yummy, count me in for the meal!

Honeymoon stories, you, Traii, me too! Hubby and I married in my hometown, then flew to Barbados. A zillion hours later, including three transfers of planes, one of which was delayed due to engine issues, we arrived in the dark to our hotel. Had to wake up the desk staff, as they had already turned in for the night. Finally got into our room, collapsed on the bed.....whoops.....turns out the queen sized bed was two doubles (on wheels) pushed together. I fell to the floor, between the two beds, hubby sailed under the headboard which had not quite enough clearance for his head!!!! He spends the night sticking toilet paper on his forehead, cause the gash wouldn't stop bleeding!!!!! Next morning, after begging some bandaids from the front desk, we go for a short walk on the beach before breakfast....he got such a sunburn he could barely walk, but the bandaid "outline" was "burnt on" for days! We just dissolve laughing about it now! Those romantic honeymoons are only for the movies! But yes, imperfect though they are, they're keepers too. Dakota, there's a keeper out there for you too!!!!! I just know it!

Websister...absoutely beautiful morning with the hoar frost and the snow! Had an early appointment so took my camera to get some photos when I was finished, but by then the frost was gone from the trees. Would love to get out again, but the mountains have actually had it warm the past few days, so not sure about the conditions. I think avalanche hazards would be getting pretty high with these conditions. Apparently yesterday in was raining up in Kananaskis and Banff!!!!!

Congrats on the finish line to you for rads, and to Sheryl for chemo. Be proud!!!!!!!

Spent half of hubby's retirement funds in new glasses today! Prescription had changed enough to need new lenses, and frames with getting old, so said, I deserve this, and got both regular glasses and prescription sunglasses. Went way out of the "norm" of conservative in choosing the frames, now wondering if I went a bit too far!!!!! But then, thought of my "new motto" re: normal is boring, so will just go with it!!!!! At least they had a sale going, so I'm gonna tell hubby how much I saved him!!

Just had a long chat with my daughter.....they think she might have Cushing's disease, on top of all her emotional struggles....Crap...some people just can't catch a break!!!!! I'd gladly take it on myself, if I could make her life easier. My son, has either IBS or Celiac or Chrohns..they still haven't decided. Both kids are in long "waits" to be seen by specialists. Sure puts my surgery/alien worries in perspective!

Liefie..I'd miss the plane home if I were you!! I think Van Island is still pretty soaked!!!

Movie.....we hiked the Iceberg Lake trail in a group of 5, but I still was worried about meeting a grizzly on the trail. Beautiful place, but sure felt like bear country to me...If I remember, though, we did see evidence of beargrass, but it wasn't in bloom. Mt. Hood is gorgeous....my sister lives in Seattle, and has a view of Mt. Rainier, that is a heartstopper!!!!!!

Better start putting together something for supper...hope everyone has an awesome evening, scarce se's, good sleeps, and terrific tomorrows. ((((X)))))

    Hi Beautiful bubbly birds.
Thanks for anniversary wishes. It was really lovely. My present of a Meerkat figure called Sergei made me cry. he is on an advert on TV soooo cute and is bullied by head Meerkat and think made me fall for him. DH found one on e.bay and bless him won it for me !! He arrived mid morning Edi opens box burst into happy tears and so does DH. Will try and post pic of Sergei he sits by me on sofa, know I am a bit old for toys but I don't care lol
Chinese meal was delicious, I ate whole bowl of wonton, every single drop ! DH had set four courses, they gave me a plate and I had one tiny spare rib and two spoons of fried rice and beef in blackbean sauce. Then really fancied banana fritter so had one. More than I have eaten in months and I really enjoyed it.
Slept well, one wee which is normal for me and now drinking the usual mug of tea. PERFECT.

Sheryl, bet you feel so relieved right now. Rads next step but then woo hoo. Sorry you have such a long journey but as Traii says get some rockin CD's and sing your heart out there and back. We will all be singing along with you x

Traii, sorry you still not sleeping well sweetie, glad se's subsiding tho. Won ton is lovely.pork prawn and mushroom dumplings in clear soup with pieces of char sui pork like a mini stew and really easy to eat.
Your wedding night like nihahi's had me HOWLING !!! I had to wipe my eyes again and again. As nihahi says those romantic ones only in the movies.
One of our friends had a cracker of a wedding night too. He was showering which was over tub, as he got out he slipped and smashed wedding tackle on tub edge, after pain subsided threw himself on bed and like nihahi DH smashed head on headboard so two points of pain. He then proceeds to pass wind ( typical man ) not knowing his beautiful bride has a phobia about just that. She proceeds to vomit everywhere lol
You asking DH to remove dress due to nails and those fiddly buttons had me in stitches, have a lovely weekend with family x

Dakota, you go girl, lots of fun with kids. Please don't be scared darling girl, you beat BC BITCH !! stinking cockroach piece of cake in comparison. Nihahi says there is a keeper out there for you and I am sure she is right x

Luvmy, You are right about only perfect man was Jesus a very hard act to follow.
DH cleaning stall now that IS love.
Did you get Easter dress ?
11.30 and not dressed welcome to the club. Bet our dear Queen slobs about when not out on show. Poor love has had a gastric bug for about a week, fancy everyone knowing you have the squits on every news report she must be mortified.
Have a lovely weekend with kids x

Websister, you too must be so relieved end of another part of jurney. Hope herceptin treats you well with no se's.
Great not back to work until end of June, was worried you were back a bit soon. You so need to recharge those batteries.
    Hope Mom still keeping well.
Celebration lunch after rads finished is on my to do list at end of April yay.
Have a wonderful time with DS and family x

Liefie, hope you are home safe and sound and not too wet.
Never tried lobster, must have a go. MyMom always wanted to have a go and on a family holiday in Majorca years ago she had her wish and loved every mouthful.
Snorkelling sounds wonderful on my bucket list.x

Nihahi, just out of diapers lol. Your wedding night cracked me up, that would make an hilarious Movie clip.
Meal was lovely would have been even better with all my sisters there too.
Need pic of glam specs when they come through.
I do spend on them as wear mine all day every day and they are an important piece of jewelry to me, like the way you make DH think you have saved him money, must remember that one lol.
Sorry your DD and DS going through bad health riht now hope they get sorted and quickly and prognosis not too bad.x

DH will be crashing about very soon Love to ALL not mentioned<going to hide netbook behind my new toy xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi all you gorgeous gals, I'm back...😪....back to reality.....I had the most wonderful

few days at the cottage of my new friend I met here on BCO...I'm in Toronto and she is about a 45 minute drive outside. We also managed to have a Skype visit with two of

our Canadian gals plus have lunch with another member that I have not met before.

It was just lovely....there is a turkey farm near the cottage and the gobblers are all free range so I went back to Toronto with enough turkey to,last me forever.....may I say

for a fraction of the price I would pay at my health food store. Such a rip off all these health food stores, wish I had the money to open my own and give my local one some competition.....lol

Liefie.....hope your holiday went as well as mine.

Good work Edi on eating all of your dinner plus dessert. I was naughty and had a banana fritter last week when we went to the chinese restaurant. There is a beautiful restaurant here and every weds and thurs nights they have half price on some of the menu....its amazing and so much cheaper (derr half price! lol) and a good night out to break up the week with the family. Wontons sounds yummy, must try that this Thursday, having early Easter dinner with my cousin and her family as this Easter hubby is on call so kids can open there presents.

So glad you are feeling better and eating more. Your story of your friends wedding night just as funny as yours and Nihahis with her DH walking around with a bandaid mark....lol  too funny (well now we can laugh about them) .....I'm laughing out loud DH said what are you laughing about...I just said oh these girls make me laugh!! Poor lady vomiting though, oh dear!

I'm glad you have Sergei now that can be with you all day long and not complain about a thing!! You have a very sweet sweet man Edi.

Nihahi, sorry to hear about DD and DS...hope like Edi says hope they get sorted and quickly and prognosis not too bad.

Scottiee, welcome back you sound soooooo refreshed, well done :) sounds like a perfect getaway with all you girls laughing and relaxing !! Glad you brought back that turkey with you...it's amazing isn't it buying direct from wholesaler....if only you opened up a health food shop, competition goes so far. The town I grew up in ( and still live in) was like a little farm town back in the day, now it is so over populated with new areas developing all the time. We only had one of everything, now there is so much competition that the 'oldies' that were here before like the owner of the chemist, perfect example, has to lower prices as he can't compete otherwise and he isn't liking it as loosing biz!!

Websister, how nice, seeing mum tomorrow, glad to hear she is doing well...hope she is getting out of her room and enjoying the sunshine!! So excited for you, now that you have finished rads then off for a week to visit DS and family. How old is your grandchild(children) ? Enjoy your time with them...:)

Lifie, did you see Nemo ??? I love clown fishies..they are gorgeous. My DS's first b'days theme was Nemo! It is a whole new world under the sea....( I did enjoy it before I hit that coral )!! Home time already..wow how quick that has gone.... you sound like you had lots of adventurous moments.....so happy you got away and relaxed, and that DH did too....!!

Dakota, hope tournament going well and you are having lots of fun hun x

Luvmy, have fun with DD coming over , I still want to see the little goaties.....I might pop passed tomorrow to visit ! lol

Well, off to bed soon, had yummy dinner at pub tonight with family. Its raining here girls, and it sounds gorgeous. Should have a nice sleep tonight, got my winter pjs on ... so nice and comfy :) xx night night from me to you my gorgeous sisters xx

    Hello everyone!

((Hugs))to all of you!  I wasn't planning on popping in this weekend, been trying to catch up on sleep, and other junk....but I was finally alllowed into the picture forum (a little late for my initial DIEP recon, but good for steps 2a and 2b.)  It took me over an hour to figure out what was in there-I am not very computer-savvy.  Undecided

It's behaving just like March over here.....all blustery and WET!  SO ready for spring and especially summer-I expect to be hiking at least one day a week by then, recon be da**ed!

Edi, you are SO funny!  Your posts have me laughing all the time.  I'm like Traii-I burst out laughing, and DH says: "what's so funny?"  I say: "it's a cancer thing-you wouldn't get it"  When I say that, he backs off....wonder why? I want to come to England and meet you!  Anyone with the name Edith is awesome, in my book!  Undecided Congratulations on 44 years!  I feel accomplished with only 36!  Looking forward to hitting that milestone.  I have a funny "Honeymoon Story"..... my wedding day started out actually the night before, when I got the pre-wedding jitters so badly that nothing could help me sleep, so I end up rolling into the church with ZERO sleep.  I was a mess, and I probably looked it!  Wedding was at noonish, with a combined family brunch after at a restaurant close by.  During this affair, DH's aunt is going table to table, trying to sell a gasoline additive for "better gas mileage".  My father looks at me and says" If she doesn't stop it right now, I'm going to throw her a** out"  Don't remember who put the Kybosh on it (maybe DH), but she stopped. Tongue Out This "event" ended around four, and we had to prepare for a formal reception that evening, so I was running on fumes by then....somehow managed to get through a 3 hour ordeal (reception), and then DH and I had to drive 150 miles to our honeymoon destination (poor planning on our part, for sure).  By then, I was almost comatose, and DH was not much better, but somehow we managed to get ourselves there, without any mishaps.  We staggered up to our suite, where I decided that I had to have a much-needed soak in the tub, as my legs and feet were KILLING me!  DH said he would be waiting for me, and not to take too long Wink...I promised I would not.  I drew a lovely warm bath, and laid back in it, and promptly went to sleep......I awoke 5 hours later in a freezing cold tub of water (I am lucky I didn't drown-if the tub had been any larger, I may have!).  I staggered out of the bathroom, and found my hubby fast asleep and still in his tuxedo over the bottom corner of the bed.  He confessed to me later that he had not slept the night before, but didn't want me to know out of fear I would feel hurt!  I still  laugh whenever I think of that night.....silly kids we were!Laughing

Traii, my bed is also way high....I am terrified of falling off, and landing on my $$$$ reconned noobs.  Right now I am not very spry /limber and a fall from that height could spell disaster for my two adopted girls! I hope you are resting well, and that your SE are not causing too much misery.

Websister, I hope you are taking it easy this weekend....your days make me very tired, and I haven't had rads OR chemo!  I do exactly what you do when DH takes off in the mall....I slow WAY down until he notices I am not next to him.  This usually happens 2-3 times (he's a slow learner) and then he finally slows down enough for me to stay with him.

Nihahi, I am so sorry to hear about your childrens' struggles.  Watching your kids go through these health challenges is stressful, and heartbreaking.  #4 daughter  has been diagnosed with severe endometriosis AND ulcerative colitis. It so affects the overall quality of life for her, a great deal of the time. It's devastating for all of us.

You are right about Iceberg Lake being prime Grizzly country, but so many people make the hike, that the bears usually stay down below in the upper meadow, or high above on the upper slopes above the trail.  I HAVE, however, been accosted by a very large male Moose, which came crashing through the trees and brush from below the trail, and  burst out on the trail 20 feet behind us.  Of course we were startled, (thinking it was a bear) and were reaching for our bear spray, when he burst through.....I don't know what we would have done if it HAD been a bear-we were all struck stupid when it happened!  :-/  The moose was annoyed we were there on HIS trail, and he was walking towards our small group to investigate.....we kept retreating up the trail, all of us trying not to think of things we know about moose: (how aggresive and dangerous they are, how you should never get too close-things like that), when he gave us one rather short charge, and then bolted up the hill, in the same direction he was headed when he *bumped* into us!

Liefie, you are probably back to Vanc. Island by now....I hope you are still feeling the warm Carribean sunshine in your heart!  (And that you are completely relaxed and refreshed.)  Sorry that DH will need to return to his practice.....he probably needs to have a vacation from his vacation!

Lovmy-LUV your opinion about the only perfect man......Smile short and to the point!  Where are pictures of your new kiddies?  I love goats, and would love to be able to have a few here, but we are not zones for anything other than chickens (NO roosters!).

Dakota, if I lived on the East Coast, I'd buy lobster from your kids!  You are a good mom, and I know you'll find a way to get past the cockroach problem......as has already been said- you've been kicking breast cancer's a**! I hope you can get clarity on how to proceed from here.

To the rest of you courageous, amazing ladies-have a lovely weekend, with few se's, and lots of rest!

For you all (since it's St. Patrick's Day-at least it is here in the States)....Since my GGrandmother was Irish-

May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm on your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields,

    And until we meet again

    May God hold you

In the palm of His hand.

    Namaste and God Bless...

    Jackie

GD came for sleepover last night, she is flat out and I so envy her. She helped me make dinner, then ate every bit plus extra fries off my plate as I make the best fries EVER lol.
Then she had a bath in new bathroom  Smile  into pj's and 6.15 pm asks to go to bed and crashes out.

Lounge fire defo knackered you would think that new fire would be simple ? Noooo he could find fault in anything. May have found one on the internet in the end, would have saved my poor weary legs.
I was doing the walking along slowly bit, what's up he says I'm tired I reply, not again he says ,I give up !
Johny cash just visted again !TMF had immodium not putting up with that.

Remodelling of her house starts tomorrow and her Mum is now in melt down mode. They are moving into other Nana's for the duration so that will be better for them than eating brick dust for the next six weeks.

Edi and Dakota......I don't think you realize what lifesavers you are!!!! Had a really, crappy (sorry Edi, poor choice of words!) downer day yesterday, which I explained on the DIEP 2013 thread and Nooooooooo sleep to speak of last night. Came on here, and read your posts, feeling like getting back in the saddle again. You ladies are certainly "positive energy"!

Does anyone have springtime yet????? Yesterday was foggy, snowy, cold.....today is foggier, snowier, colder....windchill of -23!!!!!

Stay well, stay rested, hugs going out to all....(((((((x)))))))

Nihahi- I am so sorry you are having a tough time. Lack of sleep is not good for anyone, but when you throw in all the extras that you are dealing with right now, it's a game-changer.......:-(

You mentioned in the other thread you were going to pursue something a little stronger to help you sleep. That is exactly what you need to do, because you need to be in the best physical health AND the best mental/emotional health you can as you head into this surgery.

Get something, and use it when you NEED to......it can be your lifeline to "sanity" as the time grows nearer and your nerves are all on overdrive. I am SO grateful that my PCP gave me a scrip for the Ativan......it saved me that last week!

I also have a confession-as the time grew closer to surgery, I found myself veering away from all thoughts surgery/post-surgery/recovery related, and focusing on my post-surgical "new me". (For lack of a better description.) It really helped. I believe you said you were a nurse(?), so maybe this would be more difficult to do. I kind of adopted the yoga technique of meditating and putting myself "there". I am probably not explaining myself very well, but it's the same thing as your lovely meadow.....just imagine yourself there in your new (and "improved") body.

I am sending good thoughts your way, and wishing you a better night's rest from here on out. (((((Hugs)))))). Jackie

Darling nihahi, can't believe you ever have a downer !Frown you are one of my rays of sunshine, despite twcbm, you herd us all along with kind words and wisdom from having been there and got the tee shirt.
Even tho under your tee shirt is now pain and more pain you find time to comfort us newbees and kick ass when needed.
Don't EVER apologise for words used on here, one thin g about BC it makes me swear like a docker lol.
I dropped something in the kitchen this morning and the word " Shit " followed, little voice from GD pipes up" Papa Nana just said Shit," mortified  ( not )  Laughing
When she was a tiddler in the baby seat in back of car DH had to slam on due to some gonk going wrong way, he beeped and tiny voice says " What the fxxk was that ? " we were helpless. Turns out her Mom had said just that earlier in the day and tiny had soaked it up like a sponge.
If I do swear she reports me to other Nana my bc buddy but I have even got her swearing now. oops
Ok maybe not ladylike, but even our Princess Ann tells reporters to Naff off.
Hope you sleep better tonight, I am gonna have a nice mug of warm milk with spice on the top and hopefully warm bath, if not, back on here at some ungodly hour seeing what you all been up to.
Lots of lovely bedding plants in the stores but due to no sign of Spring yet will not waste money to watch them turn to ice pops.
Not as bad as you temp wise but still wintery, first day of spring 21st here, who are they kidding ? still in thermal everything from knickers outward.
Big Hug to soon to be magnificent chested Nihahi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
