Scottiee, aren't boys just exasperating? Now you still don't really know what's going on. I hope that there's a way for you to get the info, and set your mind at ease. My son moved to Alberta almost a year ago. He still has not applied for a Alberta health card although we keep telling him how important it is. In the meantime he keeps paying his BC health insurance - ?????? And he is a chartered accountant . . . .go figure!

Nihahi, it's been raining buckets here since last night with no signs of abating. I got soaked from my car to the pool building this morning; no harm - I was going to get wet anyway. We've had just half of our normal rainfall for January and February, so this is really necessary. Our beautiful forest and lake paradise cannot survive without it.

Edi, glad you're feeling better. Yes, we love our DH's, but sometimes we just want some alone time without them. It took my DH years to understand that, and to not feel rejected if I wanted to do something on my own - lol. Now he just accepts it, and he learned that the world does not come to a standstill when I'm not close by his side every minute of every day. Enjoy the retail therapy tomorrow - always lifts the spirit, right?

Have to stop yakking and throw some clothes into a bag now as we are sleeping over with good friends tonight after the dinner and show in Chemainus. So looking forward to that fifties rock and roll music, and I just know it is going to be a blast. Good wishes to everybody; I hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh Benny - Love you girl.  Most everyone on here (and I read a lot of threads, way too many to get my housework done properly) has some doubt on the treatment they pursued.  I didn't want chemo and chose not to have Oncotype even though I have now read of others who had low grade BC and high Oncotype.  How do I know if I made the right decision?  Only time and in the meantime I live life as it comes.  I think you've done MARVELOUSLY and don't think I could have coped as well as you have considering your circumstances.  Eggs/cottage cheese and with broccoli/onions sounds like a positive step forward in diet.  Screw the potatoes.  May you never have to eat another potato until YOU WANT TO.  There's always other carbs.  (Shall we make that our mantra??)  Glucerna, too, maybe with some extravagant ice cream stirred in.  I bet fresh air will improve your appetite.  Hope your good weather holds.  Wishing you blue skies.  I have finally resorted to Omeprazole for my GERD. I identify with scratchy cereals.

Love that you have great weekend plans.  Sounds so positive.  Sheep/dog/chicken sitting sounds lovely and hopefully peaceful/relaxing.  Early May is still 2 months away for your clinic.  I know you probably have to commit to it (meaning money down) but let's get out the flags and think positvely you will be at that trail ride clinic.  I think some saddle time even on a sleepy stable horse is therapeutic.  Does someone else exercise Diamond for you?  Never had a horse so just wondering.

On baby goat watch.  Have baby monitor up in barn.  One has been making "mama" noises but nothing yet.  Other one can hardly be enticed away from the hay feeder.  No clue how many they will have.  1st one making the noises had 3 babies 2 years ago.  Other one is first timer but is huge.  Hoping for at least twins as they are easier to kid that way rather than one BIG baby.

Will try to respond to others on here later.  Know everyone on here has something they are worrying about today even if its only a little back of the mind thing.  May your day be peaceful and productive and as one on another thread says "Go find your happy today".

Liefie and Nihahi - You have both missed your calling as counselors.  Both of you very wise women.

Hello lovely ladies! Wow, I miss checking in and all h**l breaks loose! Evi posts a beautiful pic of her lovely bedroom, Benny ( who has mostly been absent since I started lurking) posts a VERY encouraging post......

Nihahi and Liefie-you are two wise women! Your advice to Benny was spot on, (and made me cry too, Benny). You have given so much encouragement to us all-thank you for that.

Evi-love, love love your new digs! Beautiful job! (And keep your wonderful sense of humor coming-I need it!)

Benny, YOU are the reason I found this post......your thoughts about finding out about having b/c brought me here, and having you disappear was worrying. I have been thinking about you all morning, and was so relieved to see your post. You are so much stronger than you realize-everyone that reads your posts can see it. You WILL get through this, and beat this B***h into submission. I know someone else said this already, but it bears repeating-"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.....it's about learning to dance in the rain". That's what we all do everyday-we learn to dance in the rain. SO glad you are feeling better. You'll be back to riding Diamond before you know it!

Luvmygoats-I love your goats! Goofy story, my sister knows someone who uses her two goats as companions/pack animals when she hikes in the Sierras (instead of dogs). Makes sense to me!

Dakota, Traii, Scottiee....hope you are doing okay.

My big news is that I actually walked a whole mile today! Wow. Before b/c I would average 7-9 a day......but, I am learning to DANCE IN THE RAIN. :-)

Love you all, my warrior sisters! Hope you have a wonderful day.

    Namaste and God Bless! Jackie

    Hi me again.

Liefie, agree on the boys thing they take after their Fathers lol.
Rain sounds bad, hope it stops soon.
DH's do seem to like being joined at the hip don't they ? have told mine if he retires he MUST get a hobby, he does get all resentful if I go anywhere on my own and find it very suffocating sometimes.
He has just gone for a pint with his best mate and oh the relief. He does that every Friday and I get my knickers in a twist if it gets cancelled for any reason.
My Bingo is every Wed and the carry on !! he mentions that I am going at least three times during the day, also will come home and say " lets go to the cinema " why not any other night ?
He has just phoned the house he forgot his money, ha ha he will be needing that drink by the time he gets there.x

Luvmy, Baby goats how lovely, we must have pics. x

Movie, walking a mile, well done  think I may have covered that much running around after DH.
It is scarey ,on here you miss a day and all hell lets loose.
Know what you mean about the specs too. Don't fret  like Evi too.
My GD is 6 and has only been riding for about six months,Her Mum is scared  stiff, opposite of your GD and Mum.
My BC buddy, GD's other nana ,are thinking about having lessons when treatments over

I really adore riding Camels but not many around here lol.x

Traii, ok baby girl cyber Mummy now chewing her nails, where are you ? Hope se's not keeping you a prisoner in the Dunny.X

When bathroom completely finished next week will show you my idea for that. lol.
Think I have asked you before but as you in Toronto know it is a long shot. Have you ever met the Ryder family ? Ken and Clarice, sons Alan and Derek.
Hope all goes well for your boy.
That IS a pic of my Mum, she was stunnig and like a little doll with auburn hair. Met my Dad and he proceeded to make her life hell until she died.He too was a cockroach but unfortunately no one squashed him.x

Dakota, she was beautiful inside and out just like you. A wonderful Mum too.
Dad was the same as your not DH,everyone thought he was sooo lovely, generous to a fault to everyone but his family. Used to watch my Mum pawn her locket to pay for food for my brother and I. Hope there is a special place for these insects in the next world.
Have a lovely weekend, hope not too busy. x

Quick check-in - life has gotten busy and it takes a bit to catch up on all of the activity :)

Benny - so good to hear from you! I agree with what everyone else said; I do think we all go through fairly similar feelings post final chemo.

I thought I would mention that BCSCF advocates for 3 months off post end of treatment and then a gradual return to full time over 3 1/2 months, Dr. T would work with your MO and insurance company to make that happen for you. Also she is doing a one day seminar at Wellspring on April 19th called The Healing Plan - looks good. Have a great weekend.

Liefie - how was your night out? You are always so supportive of everyone here

Edi - beautiful bedroom, beautiful GD :)

Luvmygoats - good to hear from you, hope you get some sleep with the baby goat watch

Traii - I was starting to get worried also, hope yu enjoyed your shopping

Nihahi - hope you are able to enjoy the lovely weather we are having and that you see your eagle again. The view of the mountains was spectacular as I drove to rads this a.m.

Mom is being assessed for more rehab - she is so afraid of falling that she has been sticking too much to the wheelchair lately but otherwise doing quite well. We'll take her out again on Sunday.

Scottie - how frustrating for you re: son and cardiologist - you did need to look after you though; once tests done hopefully y will be able to get to next appt with him

Dakota - another busy weekend ahead with kids sports?

Carlads/Caitlin - how are you both doing?

    Movie - I don't think I've said welcome yet - welcome :)

Keemo, Bearcub and anyone else I've missed - have a good weekend

    Scottiee1

What he is probably referring to with "wave 1 and 2" is when they do the EKG of the heart and place the leads around the chest they look at different views of the heart. He was probably saying that they saw the unusual beast in Leads I and II.

The monitor for continuous monitoring is called a Holter Monitor. It will pick up any unusual beats the entire time he is wearing it. There are to many reasons to have irregular heart beats to mention. There are just about as  many types of testing to try and determine the cause. The main this is how is he tolerating the irregularity. Obviously well or they wouldn't be doing the Holter Monitor and nothing else at this time.

The most irritating part is the waiting and the unknown, but the fact that is is home and not hospitalized should pretty much indicate that it is not a really bad acute situation. Wish he had told you the name of the irregularities.

Hopefully you will get more answers soon.

    Hugs, Sheryl

Wonderful about our Benny isn't it ? There IS light at the end of this stinking tunnel.
CMF knocked me a bit sideways too this time  Frown  tiredness was beyond belief, how you cope with DS and DH amazes me.
Dragging DH out for retail fix later today, bit of sorting out still to do in the two spare bedrooms have found things I had forgotten we had lol.

Edi,my cyber mummy...I'm here,  CMF has gotten the better of me re tiredness.. to be honest, I was telling my mum I honestly lay down at night thinking oh what a day, but I got through it...tired or not I need to keep going , DH keeps me on my toes thats for sure...he is a hand ful and the last 2 days he has not wanted his nap in the arvo...well mummy wanted hers but couldn't ... lol .... I don't know how you still have energy for dragging DH out to get things for the 2 spare rooms.....lol you forgot about them !! inbetween the loo, the bedrooms and the plumbers cracks, I'm sure you've forgotten about them! Hope you're having a productive day.

Your bedroom looks gorgeous, and your GD is just adorable on that horse. Now I know where you get your gorgeous looks from, your pretty mummy :)

Movie, hope you've had a great day

Liefie, hope you having fun at your 'sleepover' .....

Websister, good to hear life is busy and that you are getting along with your rads. Enjoy Sunday out with your mum. Hopefully she won't need the wheel chair, but if thats her 'safety zone' so long as she is happy, thats the main thing I guess.

Benny, good to hear from you gorgeous girl. We all have our 'dark places' and trust me I've been there quite a few times.....you have and are doing everything to get through all of this. Before you know it, this will be in the past and we can look forward to the tomorrow.

Dakota honey, hockey, soccer.....hope the weathers good for you to get out and about. Hows that cockroach going ? Is your DS and DD ok?

Luvmy, 'baby watch' sounds like fun....make sure you post pics of the little 'kids' !! how adorable, something to look forward to.

Nihahi, your walk sounded gorgeous...glad the sky is blue. Its going to be a warm week again this week. No wonder I can't shake off this cold..( now that I've had CMF I also feel that sinus like cold thing that goes on..lol do you like my description?, bit like the way I'm feeling....crazy! ) the weather is hot one day, cold the next. So pool week again this week, not bad for the first week of Autumn!

Scottiee, sounds like your DS is under control. I'm sure there is nothing to worry about. Boys will be boys.. Forgetful, selective hearing....they are all the same. I send my DH off to the shops with a little list of bits and pieces ( 4 things max) and he STILL calls me to ask a question.....lol

Caitlin, Carlads, Bevlee, Keemo, and anyone else I may have missed,  hope you are all well.

So whos having chemo next week ? Edi and I are on shift, Tues for Edi and Weds LAST ONE for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!  (sorry just a tad excited, can you tell !!!!!!!!)

Good night from your one and only crazy sister Tracey xoxox

Saturday morning here....expected to wake up to sunshine, but it is so foggy we can barely see across the street! Major snowstorm predicted for the next couple days, and of course, my gal pals and I are headed up to the mountains for our getaway weekend!

Benny, so lovely to read your last post. You will come out of this with such a fighting spirit. By the way, scrambled eggs with broccoli and onions sounds delicious! Could you throw some cheese in with mine please?

Edi....LOVE the boudoir, gosh you're talented with such a good eye for design. Is the wallpaper behind the bed textured? It looks it, and I love that kind. We're looking to do that to a couple walls here in our condo, as there are too many flat walls and windows.....gotta have texture to balance things I think.

Traii, Edi.......I had 6 months of cmf, all by iv, got everything in 1 session, then back again 14 days later for another. Was so friggin exhausted by then end, I could barely stand up. Rest whenever you get the chance, your energy will come back, but if you use up all your reserves in one go, it'll take longer. Traii, my daughter turned 2 during my chemo...I can identify with you and your DS!

Liefie...rain stopped yet???? Sounds like you guys got a real drench, and we're gonna get it now but our version will be snow. Gotta love springtime in western Canada! Oh well, the flowers will love it!

Had my own mini-meltdown yesterday....I think the alien is starting to attack my brain, trying to scare me out of the surgery. All I could think of was the moment of walking away from hubby in the holding area and entering the OR on my own. Forced myself to stop crying and went out for a walk. Told one of the "weekend" friends maybe I shouldn't go, cause I didn't want to be a "downer", and she set me straight on that one!  Pulled myself together, then burst into tears again when hubby came home from work. We went out for dinner, I came home and attacked then alien with ice, muscle relaxant, pain and sleep pills. Made it through the night, and have come out on the other end again. Sheesh!!!!!!!

Now looking again to the weekend away, (if we can all get there in one piece). Won't be posting, but will catch up with you all "on the other side" of the week. Probably not back online until Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

Look after each other, I'm taking you all with me in spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((x)))))))))))))))

Traii, Glad you ok, this CMF tiredness is like NOTHING I have ever experienced in my life. Just woke from a nap  Laughing  can't wait for bedtime. Only 8pm and DH snoring on his sofa too.
Wouldn't you knpw DS not doing naps when you need to rest. Swear they start being a pain like ALL men from birth.
Did retail even tho I felt like sxxt, had spent morning sorting GD's bedroom into order. We went anyway and DH went all funny half way around the shops. Said he felt strange an is complaining of pins and needles in his arms and feet,
Told him we would go to walk in centre at hospital on way home but he wouldn't.
He has put on new doorhandle in the bathroom since we got back, then sorting his tool box. I give up lol.
We had sausages and mash with onion gravy and mushy peas. I really enjoyed it appetite seems to be returning.
SE's not to bad this time, Only needed throne room twice on Thursday, Friday and today normal.
If rest of CMF this good it will be great. Just the tiredness is yuk.
Think you need glasses sweetheart, pretty is not something anyone has ever called me. I do thank you for that. Made my day. GD coming tomorrow Nana has to help make Dr Zeuss costume for book day in school.
Hope you have a good nights sleep BIG ((( HUG ))) XX

Nihahi, We had fog this week isn't it horrible ? hope yours clears for your weekend. Sure your friends would be devestated if you didn't go, you just try and have fun,
Sorry to hear you had the weeps. Sometimes it just hits you like a ton of bricks.
You have a lot happening soon but you will be thru it and with a lovely new figure by the Summer.
Glad you like bedroom, paper behind bedhead is not textured just wavey lines on a cream background. We have a red wall at the foot of bed and I found some red accessories to dot around.
We do that in most rooms, have maybe creamy walls then pick out an accent colour with curtains/cushions and accessories. It certainly brightens flat walls up. We usually do maybe one wall in the accent colour. Living room is creamy with lime green accents and makes me feel as if it has brought outdoors inside.
Don't believe in making DH work too hard lol.
Poor you going thru CMF with a two year old like Traii, think you are both really wonderful.
Hope Alien behaves and you have a BALL with the girls lol xx

Dakota, you put those feet up if you can, xx

All other sisters, have a lovely weekend lovsya all xx

Back from sleep over. Isn't it just wonderful to visit with good old friends, joke around, laugh, let loose and just have fun? So relaxing. Last night we had a delicious buffet dinner at the theatre, and yes, I had dessert - three different kinds: sticky toffee pudding, trifle and strawberries and pineapple pieces dipped in the chocolate fountain. Then the show . . . those familiar old rock and roll songs just made me itch, and I could not sit still; clapping, cheering, stamping feet, and singing along. DH's was just a little embarrassed, but my girlfriend and I ignored them, and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. We bought a CD, and I plan to rock and roll around the kitchen island for exercise. That beat is just sooooo contagious. Too bad Buddy Holly died tragically in a plane crash in 1959 at only 22 years of age - he was such a talented musician and songwriter.

This morning my friend made us a lovely breakfast. She is originally from Germany, and laid the table with her mother's beautiful antique blue and white crockery with silver cutlery. So stylish. Fruits, yoghurt, fresh breads, cheeses, cold meats, hardboiled eggs, some sweet baking, coffee . . . yummy! After that we all went for a long walk through the neighbourhood. Weather is beautifully mild here today after all the rain of the last few days. Everywhere the daffodils, tulips, irises and other bulbs are poking from the soil, and spring is definitely in the air. We came home a while ago. DH left for an ER shift, and I am here alone having some me time.

Nihahi, I'm sorry to hear about your meltdown. Surgery is scary, but I will take surgery any day above chemo, because it's a once off thing, and then it's over. After last year I feel like a seasoned veteran in that department. Lol. Maybe just visualize yourself on the other side of the surgery with a beautiful new boob that will no longer be giving you the endless trouble that you experience from the alien on a daily basis. I am sounding very brave, don't I? Bet you I will be far less courageous as May 21 approaches. By then you will have gone through the whole thing, and will be giving me advice, and cheering me on. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs to you!

Now I have to start thinking what to feed hungry DH when he comes home from work. See you all later.

Sorry to hear you are having such a stressful time Dakota. Just know that you have international support! You will get through this - better times ahead!

Edi, thanks for the photos of your bedroom and GD! So nice to see how nicely the bedroom turned out after all that hard work from you and your DH. Your GD reminds me of my niece, who also rides.

Benny, so pleased to see your posts! I have to say I share your fears looking forward, but I took comfort in the wise words Liefie, Nihahi and others shared with you. I'm a statistician by training and profession, which makes it especially hard to forget about the numbers and just get on with living life to the fullest, focusing on the present, without fretting so much about the future - but I think that's what we all have to do. Also, the dietician I saw gave me a paper describing a study that found that dietary changes and exercise can have a protective effect equal to that of chemo, at least for some women. I'll post the reference here later.

I'm feeling better, getting ready for Round 3 of AC on Thursday. The best news is that my Mum is arriving from Ottawa on Tuesday and staying for 2 weeks. It will be such a lift to have her here.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a wonderful week ahead!

Got a pot of lentil soup on the stove and multigrain scones in the oven, so checking in while waiting.

Caitlin, moms are the best, aren't they? Enjoy your time with her! How many more chemos do you have left after Thursday?

Edi, I often embarrass DH, but then again, he is the shy sort and really easy to embarrass, so I don't take it seriously at all. Won't stop me, and it's not as if I dance naked on tables anyway. It's just fun to watch him . . . wonder why they are like that? Must be that Mars and Venus thing . . . lol.

Traii, I sincerely hope you will sleep better tonight. Does DH sleep on his back? I find that's when the snoring is most unbearable. Good luck with that!
