Hello, my lovely ladies......just checking in here. Codeine cough syrup is the best! Between that's a shot on my inhaler , AND a strategically swallowed Ativan, I actually slept pretty well last night! Only got up once to visit the loo (I love that word!), and fell right back to sleep.
Got up this morning and felt so good I thought I would run a few close-by errands......bad idea! I am now exhausted beyond belief-maybe too tired to even sleep....and to make matters worse, I forgot my attractive abdominal belt, to hold everything in.....ouch!
Going to try and nap....will check in later.
Namaste and God Bless,
Jackie -
Movie, good to hear you're feeling better, but too bad you made the classic mistake of doing too much too soon - bet you've learnt a lesson from that. Easy, Tiger!
-
ok Dh painting bathroom ceiling 10pm here. Babysat GD for and hour while her Mum ED went to slimmers world. She has lost 21 ibs and is so thrilled. When I came home and hour ago DH was waiting for me to help move a bed fro mm one room to another. Do they have NOOOO empathy.
Being dutiful wifey I did it but wished him far enough. lol.
Feeling really good at moment. But se's dont usually kick in until Thursday. New Bathroom is finished then so new throne room awaits.Nihahi, Wise words from a wise woman. So awful that it is your family, such a shock back then. None in mine so far but you never know .
Pocket tomorrow any messing about from them and we will rise up and paint them with varnish.
No phone, such a good idea, I sometimes " forget " mine to get away from DH whilst I am retail fixing.
Will defo let DH take control of the garden. Queen Edi just sits on deck giving out the orders.Dakota, stay strong nihahi is right, he senses your strength and is cxxxxxxg himself. Think of my Mum when your nerve starts to fail.
Carla, had a twitch too but not for long, if sore mouth continues, please get help I didn't and ended up in a bad place.
Caitlin (( Hug ))Liefie Siamese are gorgeous of that there is no doubt, We had Yorkshire terriers for a bout twenty years but after last one went ( up to heaven on a cloud D's sake ) We can't have another DH has never got over her passing.
I am defo taking each day as it comes right now. Best way,Traii by my calculations 10am there and the pocket nail painting party will be starting soon. Bet nihiah's have little silver balls stuck on lol
You tell them about follow up, I am too much of a coward .All you other lovely sisters luvsya, but now steroids wearing off and need my bed xxxx
-
Unfriggin believable.......Edi, if I had some balls, I'd be slinging them at the moment. Walked for 2.5 hours, saw some deer and a couple juvenile bald eagles....feeling pretty good.....got home.....Hubby's been summoned for jury duty on the day of my surgery. OMG, STOP the STRESS, PLEASE!!!!!! He's going to ask for a letter from the surgeon tomorrow to beef up his request for exemption, so it probably won't be an issue, but REALLY!!!!! I'm sure at some point I'll see the humour, but not quite there yet.
Movie.....baby steps, kiddo....baby steps.
Edi..you are a saint with your hubby. Moving furniture on chemo day!!!! Remind him of that next time he comes down with a stuffy nose and wants you to drop everything and "nurse him"!

Traii....I might have spilt a bit of polish, soooo sorry, but Liefie bumped me!!!!
-
Nihahi, wow! You never saw that coming! Take heart. I've been summoned for jury duty a few times in the past, but never actually did it. Had good reasons for not being able to do it, and they exempted me every time. Don't think your DH will have to do it - you have the best excuse ever. Can't believe the timing though . . . how does this happen? Now I only hope they don't summon me or DH in the near future - LOL! I know it is our civil duty, but I feel extremely uncomfortable with the idea of serving on a jury. Guess at some stage it will catch up with me.
-
Nihahi, we seem to be treading similar paths......I got a summons for jury duty for the day I had to report for surgery.....I just about had a melt-down, what with everything else I had going on trying to get ready for the hospital.....I considered doing the whole "getting a letter from the Dr about the surgery" thing....but I do have an Ace in the hole....my 95 year old mother lives with me , and she cannot be left alone all day, so I used that, as it is a legit excuse to be someone's caregiver. I am sure your DH will be excused. But, it sure does add to the drama, doesn't it?
Well ladies, I have had an exhausting day, so I am heading to bed, and hopefully SLEEP! See you all tomorrow. :-). Jackie -
Nihahi, what the fxxk !!! That Alien has defo got its tentacles into your life. Sure the girls are right tho as come on, his beloved is having major surgery. Surely they can't be that heartless ?
Sending out Reiki vibes to the powers that be for you right now.
Love the comment about DH, soooo funny, you are on my wavelength. He had been for the bathroom mirror while I sat on the baby, so was already in a foul mood, while he was out some insect ( probably Dakota's Cockroach) bit his wrist. The face on him !!!! It was itchy and red ( his arm Nihahi ! ) you would have thought he was about to shuffle off this mortal coil. As we lugged the piggin mattress from room to room had to stifle hysterical giggles. YAY
I would normally have raced around with ice and ointment, but bollocks to that last night.
Then we slept in seperate rooms ,as he was in the bed we moved, me in our room in the other one.
I could even hear the road drill thru TWO doors.
We are going back to double bed this week, so have to go back to fighting for the duvet. Bought a very big duvet, but bet I still have to hang onto my side like a limpet.
Good part is we now will have two other bedrooms with beds for me to escape to lol.
Your part of the world sounds like a little bit of heaven
must be like walking in paradise.
Our wildlife consists of the odd squiggle ,as GD calls them pinching the nuts put out for birds.
Neighbours feral cat killed and ate a beautiful Robin the other day before they could stop it.
Karma in the shape of a large truck with wide wheels needed.
Now you just breathe deep that mountain air, and we will all send out vibes for your DH to be exempted.
Big ((( HUG ))) XLiefie,my dread in life is jury duty. Have avoided it so far but I am terrified of it happening.
Since the surgeon massacred my insides at the birth of my son, when I need the loo have to get there VERY quickly or woops.
Someone said there is no chance they would exempt me so hope they got good air freshner.
Hope you didn't shove niahahi too hard in Traii's pocket. xMovie, so glad you could get out of jury duty. Wow your Mom a fantastic age !!
You keep that chin up, and breath deep. You are doing great. xTraii, hi cyber baby girl. Cyber Mum bit hyper with the steroids but quite like it !! Just hate the splat when they wear off.
Hope your session went ok ? and se's minimal.
Plumbers on the finishing off and connecting up water, elec etc today and DH at work !
Going to have a lovely potter and then Bingo tonight, DH will be finishing work when I am out, so beans on toast should be easy for him to manage.
Might grate a bit of cheese to sprinkle on the top IF I can get it out of the mousetrap lol.
Starting the C tablets this morning, so gallons of water to be drunk, please god the loo connected upstairs or I am going to be knackered stomping up and down stairs all night.
Has the rain helped the temperature and atmosphere there. Cold but at least no snow here.
Hope you can sit and admire those nails today. xBack later Luv to all XXXX

carlads,
Glad to find this post I was wondering how you were doing. I have the sore throat and coated/patchy tongue too. I had some mycelex troches called in yesterday in case it is thrush. The fatigue and low b/p has been overwhelming this part of the journey. My red blood cell count is on the low side. Of course the taste buds are shot. I sure hope when they come back I don't start eating everything that isn't nailed down. I need to lose at least 20 lbs, I have lost about 10 since chemo started but it is because I began to eat healthy and lay off the junk food, not because of the chemo. Carla hang in there we only have one more treatment, then off to rads for me.
Hugs, Sheryl
-
Sheryl. lovely to hear from you.
Sorry you are weary, just take time out and look afetr yourself if you are able too.
Bad enough we are taking in these chemicals but when they bugger up the eating, I object too.
I have lost 14 lbs but just beacause can only face tiny portions. Enjoying fitting into nicer clothes so will have to bahave when appetite returns,
Fries etc taste like bath sponges so hope that lasts because I adore fries.
Take care x -
Thanks for being in my pockets...yes Nihahi, split nail polish.....all in my pockets, but its ok my toes do like rather 'colourful' lol.
I spoke with my onc today and he said pains I'm having 'normal'
I don't have to see him until June ! after my BMX:) Its all happening
scared but need it to be done and dealt with. I'm not having TE's so I feel a little better about the 'one step implant'. Found out why I didn't get oncotype scoring done, it costs $4000 here and in the US it's covered by insurance therefor they get it done. But felt reassured that onc said that it didn't matter regardless if I had it done or not, under the circumstances of my history I would have had to get the chemo regardless
. He did tell me to 'stop getting all excited' over my hair growth and that it 'wont fall out' but will 'slow down' I did say that i'm happy that it's coming back and if it does mean it will stop growing for the 3 weeks then so be it.....after all, life's more important than hair hey!!Edi, I only had the one dose of steriods this morning, still had oral ones left from the Taxotere so had 2 of those in the morning to save me 10 mins through IV
I was blah blah blah this morning and now I'm a little on the tired side, might be the rain I can hear it saying 'come in bed Tracey, its nice and cosy and you can listen to me pitter patter on the roof all night long' ... lol.I WISH I lost some weight...... I've put on 7 kgs , yes 7 kilos since starting chemo. More with the Tax with the steriods...I don't have much of a appetite with CMF and eating healthier,...just as well thats why I've stayed 'steady' with my weight !!
lol, you too funny cyber mummy.....'if you can get the cheese out of the mouse trap' your DH would be delighted i'm sure.....yeh being night tonight...make sure you call out bingo really loud ok!
So glad you feeling well Edi, those loo trips are already horrifying me...but better out then in I guess....i've lost count on the trips to the loo already and its only 10:30pm here. (11:30am for you if I'm right) .
Glad plumbers finished there job. Now you can make tea for two dear ..!

Nihahi, jury duty, I've always wanted to do that !! Can't believe there are 365 days in the year and your DH gets chosen on YOUR SPECIAL DAY!! what the.....well I'm sure he will get out of it under the circumstances, I've had lots of friends here get called up and they use every excuse under the sun and get out of it.....
movie, glad the coidene cough syrup working a treat for you

Sheryl, lol so know about the food bit with TAX....I still ate anything and everything even when my taste buds were shot thinking that they would come back eating something yummy......mine are gone at the moment due to this damn flu i have every now and then I get the taste buds back, then boom, shot down as quick as they came back.....damn flu and damn taxotere! Hope they come back soon for you!
Off to bed soon, figure I should TRY to get some sleep tonight.....work tomorrow then 3 days off....ahhh.
Night night everyone hugs to all
-
Hi all....sorry MIA AGAIN....ended up at the doc yesterday after trying to fight some bug
I've had for four days. They told me my temp was almost 39!!!!! and how was I still
standing ....I said once you've had C, everything else just seems "doable". I have a chest and trachea infection so home with antibiotics...we had a bit of a snowstorm here in TO
last night so home is a good place....lol
Tomorrow is my son's appt with the cardiologist. I really want to be there with him, but not sure a hospital is a good place to go right now....maybe get a mask and take a chance
Can't possibly catch up with you lot, but sending love and hugs to everybody. -
Hi Scottiee, sorry to hear you have been fighting off a bug...I've had a dreaded cold for the last few days ... onc said it will be around for a while because of immune system system and all and my lymphocytes were slightly down which fights off 'viral ' infections ( I'm learing something new every day) lol. Very true Scottie, after BC and having chemo colds, flus, bugs are doable !!
In your sons pockets for tomorrows appt ... Im sure he will understand if you can not make it ... wishing him the best of luck Scottiee...rest up hun and get rid of that dreaded infection, hope that antibiotics kicks in real soon x
-
Trail....you're such a little doll... always wanted a daughter so will ask Edi if we can share you..❤
Can't imagine you young ones with young kids dealing with all of this....you are such strong young women. At least I'm 65 and my boys are grown (well, they think so...lol)
My husband also can take care of himself so I'm lucky .....take care of that cold, I know. Easier said than done. -

Traii, sorry se's kicked in so soon with you
I usually get next day clear then pow !! for up to three days, Asked onco and he said it is ok to take immodium to help.
Your wig looks lovely anyway, and you will have nice new boobs, hair will follow. you are right it ain't the be all and end all.
I woke at 4am again, don't waste time lying there just get up and catch up on here. Tidy around and working way thru mountain of laundry. Getting weary now but like you may just crawl into my pit for a while before getting glammed up for Bingo.
Your weight gain is about what I have lost, how weird is that. lol
Sleep well Dolly Daydreams while listening to that rain.
Here just the plumbers finishing off with lots of drilling and hammering.xScottie, you are a tough old bird like me. The young ones are soooo amazing we can't let them down by being all precious.
Do hope you feel well enough to go with your boy but if he is as lovely as his Mom he will understand. Everything crossed for you both.
I am sure Traii will let us share, you can't have too many cyber Mummies.xDakota, Hi doll it is 2pm here and just had a sandwich. As appetite so poor, forget to eat lol.
My Mum will look after you ,her picture is on the wall at the side of my chair. I told her all about you and she said she will watch over you and give cockroach an extra squash from her.
Potter, ha ha it is a term we use that means just doing lots of things at once as we women do.xThink I might try a little nap in between hammering and drilling.
Laters xx
-
Cyber mummy Edi, no no SEs of loo = wees for now...lol. I just woke for more weeees and more water! Almost 2am here !! Loved jumping back in bed after walking on cold tiles, feet cold and rubbing them on DHs foot (he did have them on my side of the bed ok!! ;-) i just loved his reaction!!!ttr

( setimes I dont even know how I do it...) though without the support of my parents I wouldn't have gotten very far I love them dearly ♥♥♥
Dakota enjoy your day at work and hope things a little better at home. Hows DD with the daddy neglectful situation? Hope hes finding time for her and DS!
Ok later chickadees, best I et more shut eye in this gorgeous rain I hear before alarm goes off in 4.5hours! seems to be raining for all of us and that rain dance I did for you girls was to eliminate any snow :-D ♡♥♡ -
Traii- hope u got back to sleep and are reading this much later. Thanks for asking...DD is doing ok. Cockroach snapped at her the other day when she mention her cousins I felt so bad and tried not to throw him under the bus and told her that her relationship with them will never change and daddy and auntie are upset with each other and has nothing to do with u. She was like an innocent bystander. She is afraid of him and now even more so
. I have then in counseling but she is at that age that she is slowing down on the talking about it ... Ughhh
Edi- if u don't mind what was moms first name like to address the angels I talk to. Sorry if that sounds weird !!! -
Dakota ...oh thinking about you everyday too.....I hate what you are going through....wish Edi and I were closer, I think between us we could "exterminate" that cockroach of yours....lol. Thank God you are a strong woman and will come out the other end to enjoy a better life...❤❤❤
-
Traii, so glad just wees, me too starting with all the flamin glasses of water.
Sure you will be like a little stick insect soon, with fantastic Boobs. My DH doesn't like skinny women, he is happy I am a bit thinner but if I my butt shrinks he won't be a happy bunny. lol
Do hope the rain sent you back off, I just woke myself up snoring after a couple of hours on the settee.
Wrinkly butt ansd his mate have been working around me and I never heard a thing.
DH will be in a mood tonight as they can't find a way to chase the electrics up to the bathroom for the new shower. They have assured me they will sort it tomorrow. Prayers needed.
You take it easy when you awake. xxDakota, ok scottie and I are ready to launch cockroach into the nearest volcano !!
How on God's earth can her instil fear into your DD ? Is it that she doesn't see her cousins because of him ?
Of course I will tell you Mum's name it is Edith Esther. she was a gorgeous red head when Dad met her and he spent the rest of their lives telling her how lucky she was to have him !!
You keep strong and when you squash him we will all have such a party xx -
Dakota, that cockroach is playing with DDs poor head, that is so unfair, she just wants to be reassured she will see her cousins throyghout qll this...she soun. so adorable. Hopefully with each councelling session DD will open up and start talking a little. Perhaps if she hears her brother speak she may start.
Sad that it has come to this. He has pushed his family away and its so sad ESPECIALLY at a time like this of what you are going through...sending you big hugs hun. You are more than brave hun and an awesome mum to your gorgeous kids and dont let that cockroach get you down and tell you otherwise girl!!
He wont know what hit him with the new and improved you..physically and mentally!
Well think Edi jinxed me....on the loo at 4am with the not so nice SE! *sorry tmi...lol....arghhh going to bed again to sleep hopefully 2more hrs straight !! ♥ -
Good arvo to you sleeping beauty!! You must of been knocked out not to hear workers doing their thing...lol good on you now you're energised to take on your DHs screaming when he finds out the latest. Lol im sure he will do the plumbing for the shower and give them the flick. Lol great thats all youll need!!
My dh says what your dad said to your mum to me all the time. Lol !!
Ok off to sleep i go typibg ibe eye open the other closed! Rain is gorgeous now hope it stops while i drive!!
Drive safely when driving today girls if its still raining your way ♡♡ -
Dakota, I don't have words any more for that man. One should not involve children in your personal squabbles, but he just does not get it. Shame on him for scaring your DD, and kudos to you for taking them for counselling. You are so wise, and your children will thank you for that later.
Edi and Traii, hopefully you are getting some much needed sleep. It is so bad when you want to sleep, and need to sleep, but it is just not coming.
Not much to report. Went to the gym for a 40 min cardio on the treadmill. Came home, devoured a pear and an orange, and is now hunting for something more substantial. These last few days I just don't seem to ever get enough, and just want to eat and eat.
-
Hi lovely warrior women! It is always so nice to read everyone's posts. I had my blood taken yesterday to check my Vitamin D levels and I guess they want to see eveything else. I had been putting it off but my MO said it was important to monitor Vitamin D. Guess I will have to do some research n that one. I haven't called about the results cause I figure if something isn't right, they will call me, and it has been such a short time since rads ended that I don't want to know if something isn't jiving. Feel like I should have a period of just living life. Fingers crossed!
Scottie and Scouser - I hope you do launch the cockroach! Guessing he's never had to tangle with the likes of you two, and get Traii in the mix! OY! He is really in for it!
Liefie - I get it about the eating! At east you are eating fruit! Good on you! I liked ice cream.
Happy to meet all of the new sisters and lots of love!
Dakota - you are strong and you kids are lucky to have you as a role model for what NOT to accept from your partner.
Benny..... I always think about you when I ride. I've been loping a bunch and I think we have gotten past the bucking thing. hehe
Hope everyone has a restful evening or se-free day - wherever you are.

Evening ladies, Can I just say "I LOVE MY PLASTIC SURGEON!!".
I probably have lowered my BP 1000/1000 since my appointment today. He started off the session with multiple apologies for all the rescheduling of the appointment. Don't ever remember a surgeon apologizing for any inconvenience he may have caused me! He is such a nice guy... Went over lots of details of the surgery, not just his part, but from the moment I arrive in the building. I had lots more questions since the last time we met, and he patiently answered each and everyone, often starting with the comment...that's a really good question. He didn't gloss over the serious parts, but answered with very calm, assuring words, and strongly stated "we will take care of you.. no matter what may crop up". He acknowledged my medical experience and chuckled appreciatively when I reminded him that I "have people" still working within his circle, that know I'm coming in. He sealed the deal when my hubby told him the "jury" story. He put his hand on my shoulder and said...."there is NO WAY I'M LETTING THAT HAPPEN"...then walked us out to his office gal, and said..type up a letter. He gave me his phone number and said, call me between now and surgery if you have any questions. What a sweetie!!!!!!
I feel so cared for and relieved now. Mentally, I knew hubby could get out of jury duty, but emotionally, I really needed "backup" to make sure. Now it's looking forward to a girl's weekend away this weekend (woohoo), and staying as active and healthy as possible. I wish anyone of you who may be having recon could have it done by this guy.
Moving on from me.....Dakota....we've all said it...you're amazing, he's dirt. Hang in there.
Traii and Edi.....wishing for minimal se's.....Edi, at least you'll be "sitting in style"!
Take care everyone....thanks for helping me get through the past couple stressful days. Time for a glass of wine!
-
It is a full time job just reading this thread!
My apologies for not posting to everyone, I have read and caught up.
Traii - hope you were OK getting to and from work with the rain and that you felt OK at work.
Edi - sending up prayers re: electricity to bathroom
Nihahi - I am so glad that I will have the privilege of having the same surgeon and I also 'have people' working within his circle. Thank you for posting that about him, the prospect of reconstruction is one I am not looking forward to; that really helped. I'm very happy re: backup from him for DH getting out of jury duty
Scottie - hope you are feeling better - how did DS appointment go?
Goodnight all, hope your days/evenings/nights are good ones - I have an early rads appt tomorrow morning and will need to start out at least an hour before due to rush hour traffic
Take care everyone -
Websister....Dr. McKenzie is wonderful. His waiting list is long, for sure, but he is worth it. I know what it really means, when the nurses and therapists who care for his patients hold his skill AND personal care in high regard. Just having the first "talk" with him will help you sort things out.
-
Maybe I should over to Albetta yoyr surgeon ladies sounds so nice and compassionate...mine looks like she just got out of bed...was going to lend her my wig so she can look good ha ha ha!
Rains on and off here today. Traffic this morning but not too bad. Last day of summer tomorrow but hot over weekend again forecasted!!
Scottiee hows Ds?? Did u get out there with him today? -
Sounds good to us Traii....he is awesome, as is the other one who does the surgery with him. They both have incredible reputations with people "who know" what they're talking about. Do you get alot of rain where you are? I think Liefie and Adagio are in for some real downpours over the next few days, if the weather forecasts are correct.
Thanks for the reminder re:Scottiee......so Scottiee.......how did the appt. go, and how are you feeling? Better I hope.
Same for you, Movie....feeling better?? Please say yes!
Benny......are we ever going to hear from you??????????????
-
When it rains it rains here when its hot its too hot..lol
So whens surgery for ypu nihahi?? Close to mine from memory -
Hi everybody. had six hours deep sleep with no Wees. Now that IS a miracle.
Just quick check in as DH will be up early to move rest of bedrooms about before carpet fitters arrive for the bedroom. Wrinkly butt and mate due too, for finishing off.
Nihahi, chuffed to little mint balls for you re PS. What a difference someone who really cares makes. Hope you enjoyed the wine. x
Websister, hope your journey to rads was ok. Thanks for prayer for elec xTraii, no throne room visits yet for me but not going far from the house today. Hope yours has calmed down.x
Keemo, you are coming on great, lovely about your riding. Such a shame Benny seems to have deserted us as she would love to hear about this.x
Liefie, Keep on chomping the fruit, I spend a fortune on it every week. DH MUST have five portions a day ! He is healthy as a horse, BP great, cholesterol spot on must be doing something right lol x
Scottie, Have you and DS in my thoughts today. That amazing Scottish heritage will keep him strong like his Mum. x
Bevlee, Carla, Caitlin, Jennie, BENNY,bearcub Dakota and all others we need to know how your doing.??? x
Quick tip, veins in forearm where IV was administered looked pretty grotty with raised bit in middle. Had a bottle of bio oil in makeup bag. Says it is great for scars etc. Gently spread some on twice yesterday and can't believe the difference !! raised part looks more relaxed and less prominent. Arm much less tight and sore .Have used it on lymph removal scar already and that is beautiful.Might just coat DH in it.ha ha.
Catch up when all hopefully done today. Minimal se's and lots of energy to you all xxx
