Barmen, Dorkie! Definately time for that GROUP HUG!!!!
(((((Group Hug)))))
(I just showed my g'dau some of Lynda's paintings and raku wall decor, and she loved the one of the dolphins best, so thought this mermaid hug would be appropriate).

Wow how sad this day has been--u girls could not have said anything better all I can do is ditto it like Lori said. This makes everything so real when our dear friends pass. FURB--and that's not enough.
-
the picture says it all kathy. and some good news, ,remember when i asked for prayers for colleagues relatives, well the one lady is b9 and my colleagues niece is now NED after chemo and surgery,

Good morning, Loungettes! Woke up to another inch or so of wet snow this ayem. Yesterday was interesting, snow, rain, sleet, snow, rain, sleet, couldn't make up it's mind!
Cammy--No, you won't see pics of Maine, probably costs too much to send people this far away from the big population centers. And there are more people in the big cities than in the entire state of Maine, so there isn't much revenue to be had from 'round heah. We also don't tend to get all crazy about bad weather. Stores don't get sold out, there aren't long lines at gas stations, etc. Ask a Mainah what they are doing to get ready for a storm and we're likely to just look at you like you're speaking Swahile. Storms happen, it's part of life. I find it amusing more than anything else. Poor KittyKat, must have been feeling left out! Glad you had a good talk.
ORLA--Yup. Steven King has a big house in Bangor. I drive by it quite often. His place has a wrought iron gate shaped like bat wings. York is in Maine, up by the Maine/New Hampshire border. It's very Bostonized.
YIKES! Is that a guy or a gal? Oh, heck, why do I even ask, I don’t really want to know!
Mema--Nah, Sadie doesn't mind the snow. She did give me a look Sat ayem the first time I let her out, the wind was blowing pretty good and driving the snow, and Sadie doesn't like getting sprayed. It took me 3 tries to get her out the door, but once out she moved fast! And ran around in circles in the snowdrifts for a while. I hear you about tons of work, I had a situation yesterday that ended up taking my entire day to work out, and still isn't finished. But it's under control and will get there today, but it will chew up a huge bunch of time again this ayem. Oh, well, such is life and I have a massage appointment tomorrow evening to look forward to!
Cammy--I handn't thought of the Steven King effect--most of his stories are set in Maine, too!
Juliet-- a yearly biopsy does not sound like fun. Does your gyn do the ultrasound thing that measures the thickness of the uterine wall? Can you use that to follow things and get biopsies if there are changes?
Goldie--Oh, my, the news about Rakul brought be up short. Thanks for sharing the guest book.
FURB indeed.
Goldie--I have a wooden gizmo that makes strips of newspaper into little plant pots that I use to start my seeds. It makes the seedlings really easy to transplant, often the roots will grow through the paper and I can just pop stuff into the ground. The standard planting time around here is May to June. We get hard frosts sometimes into June. I've got to get to work planning out my garden for this year, I need to do a lot better with it than I did last summer!
Wahine--I'm glad you thought about looking for her other posts. I don't think I would have thought of that. Thanks for the hug. And I hope your DH gets feeling better soonliest!
Juliet--Hooray for the good news for both women!

NM, Very appropriate dwink..."Tears for Lynda"....I still don't think I really believe it. I like to picture her as the artist she is.....I guess she has a huge canvas in the sky. SO sad. I read what you said about "Mainahs" and storms to my DH...he had a big laff over that. AND it surprises me that sometimes you have to wait till June to plant outside....if we wait that long, it is already hot and might not survive. Sometimes June could be in the 90's! We have to plant early so things will survive the summer's heat. I like your newspaper thingie that makes planting pots....awesome!
Julie, YAY, I mean DOUBLE YAY, as they both are A-OK!! That is awesome. What power there is in prayer!!! I am so happy for them. We need more happy news like that!
Well, gonna get ready for our drive to Asheville, NC, and my eyeliner! How in heck do you keep your eyelids still while they are being done permanently??? Guess I'll find out soon enough. Good luck with your fill today, Lara. Hope they go easy and don put too much in at once. If you are in a lot of pain, have them put less in next time. I can't recall exactly, but I am *thinking* I had them only put in about 50cc @ time, as the gals on other threads that were getting 100cc ea time, were in a lot of pain. And for me, it was ez.
HAPPY FAT TUESDAY!!!! The start of Mardi Gras!!!! Mardi Gras started in Mobile Al, in 1703 (I *think* that was the year, but I was too young and can't memember). So many think it started in New Orleans, but Nooooooooooo, it was Mobile! WHen my DD was there at school, their parades in Mobile were much *family oriented* than the ones in New Orleans. Been to NO twice for Mardi Gras, and wouldn't want to do that again. The last time, we LOST my mom and stepdad and couldn't find them till after the crowds had left and the street cleaners were cleaning up. They had forgotten where we were supposed to meet if we got separated.....we even checked the hospital, police station, etc., and my mom was in her 80's and my stepdad was 90, so it was scary. PLUS we were going on a cruise from NO the next day (stayed in Biloxi at casino), and someone directed us WRONGLY into the parade route, and we were stuck behind and in all the traffic jams. Police just shook their heads and wouldn't help us....thought it was our fault for being there! FINALLY got out and DH had to drop us all off at the pier in the nick of time...we didn't even know if he had made it on the ship on time (as he had to park, etc) until we had already set sail! OK....long story....my apologies (I didn't say the *s* word)!
Big Hugs,

The mermaid hug is so cute Kathy, looks like a bunch of Stella’s. I saw the post you made on behalf of Lynda, I think the most of her posts were right here on our thread. I think I will look for the thread that mentions all of our angels, and have her added to that. I just hate this. She has been a member since September 27, 2010, so just a little over 2 years, but has only made 285 posts. So a rather quiet lady. Unlike most of us!!!! We get very hot in June too, I think that is probably our hottest month, we get into the low 100’s and it does mess with my maters. If I had time, I would put some sort of cover over the top, but that will never happen! Good luck to you today with the eyeliner, yikes. Does she use a needle, like you would for a tat? Scary story indeed about your mom and step dad in NO!
Lara, maybe you should find out if yours are under the muscle or not, as that is where Dorky had her problems, cuz they were NOT under the muscle. Good luck today.
Julie, at least you bring some good news. YAY for your niece and colleagues relatives.
Bernie, I hope your enjoying your time with family.
NM, good for you and going for that massage….ahhhhhhhhhhh! I remember that little thing you have for making little pots out of newspaper. And those plant protectors will keep your seedlings safe from a hard freeze. I had tomato plants out, got 6 inches of snow and temps in the mid 20’s for the entire night. My maters were fine!!!! But I do think you need sun, as the sun is what heats up that water.
Tears For Lynda, perfect. I think we have all had those.
Let's celebrate Lynda's life...
Let's Par Tay!

Tenders have the buffet all set up
My costume for the day! DH won't be able to stand it.........LOL!
CAMI........put your shirt down girl!
-
Good Morning Gals----Lori but u should hace seen all the beads I got. Just like Kat has to do to get her beads. Show em Kat.
We do have to celebrate Linda's life she was a ery sweet soul. NM that is a perfect name for the DOTD.
Lori how is u'r DH????Kat I hope u DH is better.
Kat u have to tell us exactly how this eye thingy goes cuz u'r right keeping u'r eyes closed isn't easy. I think tho it's harder to keep our mouths closed.
Julie another Yay--good news is always uplifting.
And the weather is damp cold here, temps aren't bad but damp--chilly willie. Abd I still have my crappy day
-
I didn't mean to end that last post so abruptly, but other things called me away LOL
So I hope every one has a good dayI'll be back BWHAHAHA
Dork I hope things are going good for u.
BTW NM I know S.King stories are mostly about Maine ----and WHY? See there is u'r reason.
-
HI girls,
Lori, What nice pictures for Lynda, and for our Mardi Gras celebration! Nice to have that buffet too! Funny thing, I put 3 strands of beads on Earleen, and she looked pleased, but didn't want a feather mask...turns out she just gave BAG FULLS of beads to her stepdau! She used to go to NO a lot! Oh well....lol. My g'dau had such fun with the colored coins, beads, and masks.
OK...on the eyeliner...well she does use numbing cream, and you get to relax for 20 min with neat soft music and lying down, so very comfy. Then she injects another numbing thing. THEN the needles...actually it wasn't hard like I envisioned. When she does the bottom lid and you have to have your eye open, you don't see the needles...her hand is in the way...yay for that! Sometimes it felt like a brillo pad (ouch) and sometimes it just tickled. Hardest thing was trying not to blink! BUT after I left, then the pain started and was pretty bad for the first couple of hrs, but is very manageable now. It is very dark, which is how it starts, then has to scab over (like 3D tatts) and then it should be more like the correct color. Since I couldn't wear mascara or eyeliner for a week, my eyes were sorta non-existent, so it was nice to SEE them again! LOL...actually looks ok now, but I think it is supposed to be very swollen in the ayem. I love going to Asheville and seeing Earleen though...wouldn't trust anyone else. She had done the perm eyeliner for someone from NJ right before me, and someone from NM right before her. She is known all over!
Okay my g'dau is hungry....so time to make dinner...glad I slugged down two LARGE IceHouse beers....ok, I can do dinner now....lol
Lara, Hope your first fill went ok!
Kat

Oh Kat---needles right by bu'r eye--OMG u stuck a needle in ur eye--Did u have to swear to God first.
Sounds tough to me--did u do the reg black--and when can u wash u'r eyes ooo it hurts me oooo--Dorks puka now this--how do u guys manage all this???----But that's going to look great, I know--good idea.
I hope u had a nice dinner and are enjoying u'r baby. Kat is u'r DH doin better"?33
-
Oh no, not a needle IN my eye, just on the corner, to numb the rest of the eyelids. The needles do not go ad deeply as regular tattoo needles do, so they don't last as long. Its some sort of "mink" color...looks black right now, but should be a dk brown later on. Glad you reminded me, as I am supposed to be washing my eyes out often. Supposed to be more swollen when I get up tomorrow ayem...gonna hafta wear dark glasses, foah shuah! Thanks for asking....he was doing really bad yest, and in bed all day....then had to do all the driving today, so he is already in bed again. Seems like 1 good day, 1 bad day, etc. We have not gotten to walk around the "village" and shoppes, so hoping to do that the next 2 days.
-

Good morning, Loungettes! Finally got myself dragged out of bed after the second long day in a row this week. I didn't even know it was Fat Tuesday I was so tied up with a family of a dying patient. Her daughter wanted to take her home for the last few hours of her life, but things kept getting in the way--I think it was Devine Intervention. All went as well as it could, though.
Wahine--I'm still reeling from the news about Lynda, too. I can plant in May, but I may lose everything to a frost if I do, although not with the Water Walls I've got now. I keep forgetting to factor those in! Generally we don’t' get in to the 90's here in Maine until July or August, and then it's usually for just a few days. Although there have been longer heat waves. . . . And what a stressful memory to have to associate with Mardi Gras! I can't believe the cops wouldn’t help.
Goldie--I just remember the Water Walls, which means I can plant some stuff earlier. Got to re-do my garden plan for this year! My garden usually gets sun, so they should work just fine. Actually, they did last year, but then I didn't follow up with the garden care. Got lazy, I guess. You know, that pic would be really funny if it weren't for the little girls in the front. They look a little young to be getting indoctrinated into that sort of display.
OOOHHHH, wonderful buffet! I'm gonna be late to work 'cause I'm gonna pig out!
Cammy--sounds like you got lots of beads! Good for you! We do need to celebrate Lynda's life, time for a PARTAY in her remberance. Steven King wrote about Maine 'cause that's where he lived! Maine was a perfectly normal place to live before he started writing! Actually, when I was in my first couple of years of college it was the fun thing to do to go out driving around and trying to find 'Salem's Lot and other places in his books.
Wahine--I've thought about getting eyebrow tats, but wondered if I could handle the needle part. Sounds like I could with a little Xanax, but I'm still skeptical. Will you be posting a pic of your eyeliner when it's all healed and normal? Hope your DH gets feeling better FAST!
DorKable--Hooray for the 4 day weekend! Will you and be too busy with Steve to post? (giggle, giggle)
Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is The Fat Tuesday (yeah, I know, I'm behind)
2 oz gin
½ oz fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp confectioners sugar
2 oz cream or half and half
2 drops orange flower water
Shake all ingredients in shaker with ice. Strain into collins glass.

Wow Cami, look at all of those beads, why you naughty goil!!!! And damn that damned D. I sure hope they can figure that out. Monday is your procedure? My DH is still coughing, he said yesterday he didn’t think he was getting better. I’m more concerned about his BP tho, as it is quite high. Med for that not working.
Kathy so glad you all had your Mardi Gras fun, especially your g’dau. Hoping you aren’t too swollen today and very minimal pain. Also hoping DH is feeling good enough to go exploring.
OMG, giving up cussing for lent, now THAT is funny. NO WAY could I do dat, mese has a bad potty mouth.
Oh shoot Lara, was hoping that would go better. How much did you get? Do you have plenty of pain pills?
NM, I thought the same thing about the little girls, just pretend they’re not there. But in actuality, those girls exposing themselves shouldn’t be doing that in front of children and the parents should have removed the little ones immediately! My tomato plants are about 2-3” tall. And we have LOTS, so if we do lose some, no biggie. I think we will plant in 4 week intervals. And I can’t wait to make more sketti sauce and salsa. Interesting cocktail, Fat Tuesday.
Dork, are ye jes going to AC for de day? Have fun and enjoy your 4 day week end. DH and I will go to town on tamarry, dinner and Die Hard!!! Yippie Ki Yay Mother Focker!!!!
OH YEAH………..look who’s back, Cami's boy!
-
Good Morning my lovlies---Wow alot is happening.
Orange I'm sorry u'r in so much pain---just take u meds, but do the Drs. know how much pain u'r in.? This sounds awful.
Lori maybe u'r DH needs to go to ER, I'm sure he dowsn't want to but maybe u should at least call the Dr. ??? He might need something more or extra. He should be better by now.
Kat u'r DH sounds like he needs more help now---he not getting better really---He's got to relax more. How do u'r eyes feel today? I bet they're sore.
NM u r really special--going thru all that with patients. That has to be so difficult. And NM give it up--Pet Sematary did u see that place. Some of his stories were bizarre aout Maine--something must be goin' on there and u'r in on the conspiracy of keeping it quiet. HMMMMM.
Dork sounds good that u'r going to get a few days for romance??? And just getting away.
I'll just take my guy, he was given to me goils, so hands off--this is all I have--how pathetic is that. LOL--Oh well I've got my main man here. My D is gone--and I'm awfully crabby--I don't like this feeling--I feel very shaky inside---Well it will pass.
I hope everyone has a good day and I'll be back.
-
Cami, I don't know much about pneumonia, or how long it takes to go away. I'm more concerned about his BP. His medication just isn't working, and he is limited to what he can take. Some he is alergic to, and causes what is called Steven Johnson's Syndrome, which can kill you. However, his diet consists of A LOT of sodium, and knows this is a contributing factor.............so! LMAO at you saying NM is in a conspiracy with Maine! And YES, that is YOUR guy, have your way with him girl. Now why in the world would you be crabby, with no D? And meese tinks meese knows why you shaky inside............Mr Hump Boy?
-
yes maine is weird lol
Thats so neat about steaven kings house
Im feeling a bit better just sore
Cammie u fely shaky and crabby take a xanax
thats your guy for sure
-
-
Oh my, you girlz habs bin bizzy! Esp Cami, with her Humping Guy...glad Lori remembered to fetch him....and ok Cami, we'll all keep our hands off him! LOL.
Lara, How much fill did they put in? I really wish you can get less next time, even though it will take longer till you are ready for the exch. It only bothered me a few min after fills....nothing to speak up, even with just tylenol or advil. BUT getting a lot of fill at one time would hurt like heck! (I'm jest saying "heck" to try to keep Dotty on track).
My eyes look like I have been crying solid for a couple of days! Jest a little sore now, tolerable. We're going out to a German Restaurant here tonight, even though DH has been in bed all day, still sick. I won't worry about how I look...don't know anyone else here...hahaha.
Yeah, whassup wid Maine and scary movies? I sure like Stephen Kings books and movies though! HE wrote one book that wasn't scary, and its a fun read. I think he wrote it for his daughter...its about a dragon...I think its "Eye of the Dragon" or something. But I really enjoyed reading it as an adult...he has quite a talent. Wasn't he hit by a car outside his house or something, and had a hard recovery, some time ago?
Hate hearing when you have to lose a patient, NM....gotta have such a dedication to your job and your patients care, to be able to deal with that. I applaud you for being in your profession, and helping everyone. Takes as special person, and you are surely that!
Glad the D is gone Cami...enjoy your HumpDey Hump Guy!!! I showed some of the gals a closeup of one of my swollen eyes! I think it may have traumatized my dear G'dau for life...her mom doesn't even wear makeup and to see her grandma go thru pain to have perm makeup on....funny!!!
Pants! Will you bring me some of NM's Fat Tuesday (albeit late!) Dwinks???? OOPSIE, Pants....where ARE your pants???? ME tinks DOtty had sumtin to do wid your missing pants!!!
Pau Hana time has started early for me.....nice tall IceHouse....gonna have a fire in our chalet tonight!!! Ummmm girls, I mean a REAL fire in the REAL fireplace, no hanky panky kinda fire....not with g'dau here wid us!!! LOL.
Hugsssssssssssssssssssssssssss,
Kath
-
Hi Ladies...I had promised I would post the jewlrey that Lynda had sent to me before Christmas. I'll try to stop in later but have some plans for tonight that do include...guess.....DWINKS!!
The red earings are broken .... my eyes are so awful Im not sure I can fix it
Latah tatah.
-
How delicate looking the jewelry is--like Lynda she was so sweet.
Kat u keep on draggin' u sick DH out of bed--u are hysterical. U'r going to give u'r GD nitemares with u'r eyes so smile slot.
Orange Kat makes sense about the fills, may be u should talk to u'r Dr. bout this.
Lori I don't blame u for the BP, maybe he's on the wrong concoction--what has it been? Do u take it at home too.? I know salt is a big factor, but still u wanted at an even level. My sister and I are both having problems with our now at the same time--and I get worried too cuz they change things around and it's not as good as before????
I was out of my xanax so Les went to get them I took a warm cup of milk and i
1mg of xanax and took a hot shower and feel better now. My computer is acting like an 00ps Dorky I won't say it hahaha, it has to be cleansed so that will be my job--I have to pay for any one of them--I'm on a different line than my dgtr so basically I'm indepenpendant of anyone or something stupid like thst. So sentences at a time are frezing so I can't read it til it decides to print??? So I'll wait to get paid and pay for it next week finally.
Lori take care of u'r DH and Kat what can I say.
-
Oh I forgot my GF from CA sent Joey a 300 piece lego Star wars for Valentines's day he got so excited and wrote to her right away. And then she sent me an adorable tee shirt and shawl that's really quirky and I lov it. I wear shawl thingy alot now.It was exciting to get a present
-
Hi Girls!! Just wanted to say….I am still aching for Linda…was hoping I could meet her next month. But not to be. You all have sed some beautiful things about her and Thanks to those who posted the paintings and jewelry from her. Sooo beautiful!!!
Adey - I still miss the chit outta MaryB!
Oh Cami - my gs LOVES da starwars legos….he has a gadzillion, so last xmas I bought him a Battle Station Carrying Case. He loved it!!
NM - my heart aches for your latest pt…I still don’t kno how you do it…YOU HAVE DA BIGGEST HEART!!
Lara - hope da pain goes away soon and that future fills are more tolerable.
Kathy - LOL about da ‘fire’…but real…not da udder wif gd there. Sounds like your having a swell time…hope the pain and swelling goes soonliest too!! I LOVE STEPHEN KING!! You mentioned a book her wrote that wasn’t scary…I don’t think I read that one. But he also wrote GERALD’S GAME…it’s not 50 Shades…but boy…did he reach into the woman psyche. Then that was followed by DELORES CLAYBORNE. These 2 books are related…gotta read GG then DC. No supernatural stuff…both really good…of course they made a movie from Delores Clayborne…with Kathy Bates.
Lori - My heart is aching for you too!!! I am wishing you could get him to stop eating all that sodium, but kno how impossible that wud b. Then there is the BP meds…that in itself is hard to regulate. I will jes have to keep praying and gib u BIG HUGE HUGZ!!
I am heading to my bed. I kno....so f'n early...but did not get nap in today after Vegas....am totally exhausted and mese back is killin me. Need to lay down. Have had 2 brandy/coffee and one wodka...still killing me. So gonna listen to it and rest.
YA KNO....I lubslubslubslubslubslubslubs all ya'll!!
-
Sue sorry about u back hurting so much---did u always have a bad back, or is this a newer ailment and if u already told me --I can't remember.
I think Dork has left--unless she's leaving tomorrow--She's finally taking her puka on vacation.
Boy have we been quiet, everyone is busy and things are on our minds. Sue I know what u mean too about MaryB I used to talk with her alot--she was another very nice person. Well have a good nite sleep and rest u'r back.
-
Hmmmm....will have to check those books sometime, Sue! Right now I can't keep up with all the magazines. Still working my way thru the 50 Shades Trilogy, but I am disappointed in them...first one was the best, but not as good as other erotic books. This is the Stephen King book I mentioned..
Oh Cami, how sweet of your GF! AND Joey has such good manners, to write asap! My g'kids don't thank us for anything unless they are right there when we give them a present. I would think it would be ez to either write, call, or email a thank you...but NO, nada. And we always make sure to get what is on their list, that they really want. Very frustrating. SO it is really good that Joey does that, and on his own!!! OH and DH loves food, so would not miss a chance to go out! The place we wanted was closed, but we found a really awesome place with a wonderful chef...food was amazing. Otherwise it looked like a ghost town tonight, NO ONE walking around and everything closed up. Its not quite the season here yet, so the dinner places mostly open Thurs-Sun (or Fri-Sun).
What nice jewelry that Lynda sent you, Cyn! I have to take a pic of mine too, but its at home. She sure had a big heart, so generous, so caring.
Hope you are all having a good night! Gonna hit the bed meself....
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVE~
