    Packing to go north for doctor visits (big miles this time).  Athena, congrats on round 2 interview.  Sorry you have to do a Round 2 interview!  E - I love the idea of you living near your horse.  Sounds wonderful.  I missed the whole horse thing in my life - not that I didn't want to have one or ride one when younger.

    Anyone else have this issue?  If I go to huffingtonpost.com it redirects me to an error page on Facebook - weird.  Hiccup..not doing it any longer.

    Enjoyful has been a very busy girl!  Nothing better than a plan falling into place.  Will Sampson have his own room in your new house Laughing

    Hope our east coasters are stocking up on goodies so you can stay home and safe until this storm is over.  Crossing fingers and toes that it won't turn out as bad as what they are saying it might.

    Athena ... drat ... was hoping they would get it all over with quickly for you.

    E - wonderful news but wish you didn't have to sell Franz.  Thankful that HL and hubby are there to watch over you and keep you grounded (well a little bit grounded).  Must phone OS and give her the news.

    Good morning.  Ready for S-N-O-W.  I've always got a supply of food, etc. cuz I live pretty far from stores.  Gas for the generator,  will probably need cuz snow supposed to be the very wet/heavy kind, I prefer the powdery stuff, alas, we lost so many trees, limbs during a major ice storm a few years ago, we haven't lost power as often since then.  Still good to be ready, as need power for water, BUT, filling up tub in case snow to heavy to get out to generatorKiss

    Snow shoes, and cross country skis ready. Everything CLOSED from here to Boston, which is supposed to get the brunt of this as a blizzard.  Warm thoughts to anyone along the NE coast, that's gonna be W*I*L*D

    Feel so badly for those still suffering from storm Sandy - Lewing, hope you are safe & warm!

    Will check in again - in case you can't tell, I LOVE SNOWKissTongue OutLaughing  really, I do....

    Aw Sunny -- I love the LOOK of snow, but right now, as I look out my windows here in Niagara, where the snow is falling so thick that I can't see my NY neighbours across the river, and I can't drive to do my grocery shopping, and I'll have to shovel at least some of the darn stuff later today -- hmmm, not so much loving it after all!

    For everyone in the path of this storm -- stay safe and warm, sisters!

    I live smack dab in the middle of the Boston area that is supposed to get 30+ inches of the white stuff with 75 mph winds....going to be a rocky couple of days!

    Hope you can stay all bundled up inside Mardibra! My husband is from Boston. He said one year they had about 3 feet of snow. When the plows pushed the snow to the side of the streets it created practically impenetrable walls of snow. People were trapped for days.

    That sounds right. It was long before I met him, but he would have been about 35. I think he tried to visit his parents and had a heck of a time getting through all that. Me, I was safely ensconced in the South.

    E - wonderful news.  What fun to live on a farm with horses!!

    Everyone in the path of Nemo, stay safe!  It looks like my area of NJ is escaping the worst of it, but I feel for those more directly in the path.

    Athena: continued good luck wishes towards the next round.  A trip to Manhattan to shop sounds like fun.  We should all do it.

    Went to see MIL early this morning, before her caregiver got there.  She had her oxygen mask off, was waving her arms at dangers that only she could see, and the O2 saturation in her blood was around 80.  (Should be 90 or above.)  Alarm going off.  No one responding.  I got the mask back on her, held her hand until she calmed down, and then stayed until her day caregiver got there.  We haven't been spending the night; I guess we've been trusting the hospital to take care over night, which perhaps we shouldn't have been doing.

    A bit trite, but golly......I so feel for all in the NE today.  That storm just sounds like something else.  It is the winds I would be disliking.  Who knows what will happen when the wind is ferocious.  I love snow and can take cold for a while, but once the snow hardens on the ground I start getting anxious for it to go away.  Out here in the country....snow is pretty and with some moisture above can fall in fat, lazy flakes and accumulate quickly.  Generally those snows are so warm I don't dare zip or button my coat as I will sweat too much ( unfeminine like ). 

    I'll be thinking about all of you hoping that you stay safe, warm, and have no reason to go out at all. 

    Alexandria -- I would think most hospitals have monitors which would warn them WHEN someone is in crisis.  I know you say an alarm was going off, but I thought most hospitals had a person in front of a bank of monitors keeping check on those who were having an incident.  Someone is definitely not doing their job somehow, someway.  We have ( small town hospital ) someone trained to do nothing but sit in a room full of monitors and alert the nursing station directly herself if someone is "going" downhill in some way.  I hope this gets resolved....period.

    Alexandria, how hard for your MIL - how terrifying to feel you can't breathe...can't imagine how hospitals function today, so good ou could be there for her.  Know it's terribly difficult for you too...beyond hard, thinking of you...

    Storm still here in my part of Ontario - it's been bad since 7 a.m. - poor dog could hardly do her "business" the snow was over her head and no one is plowing - we found a spot where the snow had drifted away a bit otherwise I don't know what I would have done hopefully snow will stop here by mid afternoon and then perhaps a plow will try to get through.  I have lots of laundry and books to see me through - so it's not all badSmile.

    Hearing crickets, and thinking of Yankeeland, here is some Jason Wu (one of the New York Fashion week favorites) that I did like. He has tremendous range.

    Spring/Summer RTW 2013 - don't ask how the suit and the purse go, but the look is great:

    The collection was all about sex appeal. Here is one of the "staider" looks - I love the long gloves:

    Jason Wu doesn't usually delve into leather and lace. His forms are rooted in Chinese tradition (Taiwanese - he is originally from Taiwan but emigrated to Canada as a child). The looks can be hard and staid but his women are elegant:

    Fall/Winter 2012 - He has a kind of aviator/androgynous but very elegant set of looks:

    (I hope this is faux fur)

    That red door that you see behind would open, a cloud of smoke would billow through and the models would come down as though they were marching. It was quite a show. IMO he is probably weakest when he tried for "dress up" Of course, we are still talking about a great designer:
