Thanks for the sympathy everybody. My cousin has a beautiful head of long, curly red hair. . . But I'm getting ahead of myself. Maybe she will not need chemo; will have to wait for the path report. This is so bad.

Bearcub, YAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!! Are you celebrating? You did it, and now your life can go back to 'normal', whatever that is. Don't worry about the slow hair growth; it will come. I was still bald for full 8 weeks after chemo before mine started growing in July, and on Saturday I'm going for my second haircut. Yes, I've often wondered what contributed to my cancer. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, breast cancer and gallstones all at the same time in Dec. 2011. I went on the Internet to do research, because it was just so unbelievable that I, a very healthy person, could all of a sudden have all these diseases. What I found was that HRT was a risk factor for all three of these, and I had been using it for six years up till the day of my diagnosis. I am convinced that there is no coincidence here, and that HRT is responsible.

Edi, yes, chemo brain is rampant here. I'm not the only one in my house. Last night DH took the dog out to do his business. When they came back in, he could not remember if the dog had done something or not????

Today was not a good day for me. Started out wrong with the missed appointment and the bad news, did not do any exercise, wanted to walk the dog, but it's too wet and rainy, etc. etc., just plain miserable. So I cooked a pot of pea soup with frozen peas that's been in the freezer for a long time, then found a recipe on the Internet for roasted savoury chickpeas, and made that too. Can you tell I was bored? In my basement is a treadmill with an inch of dust on it. Maybe I should clean it, and just get on it to work off my frustration. Sorry, girls, I'm not good company today. Will be better tomorrow, I promise.

liefie......anybody can have days like yours. Dull, rainy days do not help bring on a sunny mindset, and you are understandably upset about your cousin. Please don't beat yourself up about the HRT, so many women were put on it, long before they understood the possible cancer connections. No apologies or promises needed. This is the perfect place to let yourself be "you", good day or bad day. (((((((((((((((X))))))))))))))))))

Thanks, Nihahi, you are a sweetie pie! Don't worry; I've long since made peace with the HRT possibly causing the cancer. It is what it is, it cannot be changed, and we just have to play the hand that is dealt to us. It could have been so much worse, so I am grateful for that.

Re: breast cancer diagnosis - I felt that I was the healthiest I had been in a long time when I got my diagnosis, I had been taking supplements like garlic and green tea extract.

Sitting here getting Herceptin #2 of 14, only 36 weeks to go ;). They are running late today and Herceptins are usually scheduled for end of day.

Nihahi - I know Dr. deHaas from my Day Surgery days, great person and surgeon. Glad your shoulder is improving

Re: chemo brain - I have learned that if I want to remember something I need for an appointment or a class etc. that I need to put it in my car the night before so I don't forget. Then the other day I had bought a present for a friend and met her for lunch, told her I was so sorry I had forgotten to bring her present with me, said goodbye to her after lunch, opened my car door and there was the present!!! I'd be pretty scary at work at this rate!

Take care all, feeling Herceptin tiredness kicking in, can't wait to get home and veg - no treadmill for me this evening

Bearcub, I'm doing the HAPPY DANCE for you girl....YOU DID IT.......whoo hoo.......celebrate good times :)

Liefie, sorry to hear about your cousin

Edi, great cake it was yummy !!

Dakota, another busy busy weekend for you!! I too was on the pill, thinking that that could have brought it on along with the mantle radiation I had when I was younger .... same day i had the biopsy on my boob, I had one on my thyroid as well as I had thyroid nodules that were benign, thank god....I had liver lesions found 4 years ago....doc had no idea why they were there and how they got there, read things up on the pill and that was a big contributer, I basically diagnosed myself...stopped the pill (which I was planning anyway after getting married and wanted to plan a family) and guess what, next liver lesion scan they were reducing......then when i had another scan (when they found the bc) the liver lesion report read ' multiple liver lesions previous scan reduced in size or no longer visable' !! So the PILL was a factor in that and as much as google may not be our friend at times...I believe that reading on what the pill can contribue too...it gave me the liver lesions. (thank god benign)!

Websister, hope you are veging out.......36 weeks seems like a long time but we all know it will be here in no time and we can all do the 'happy dance' for you.   Lol at your present being in the car, I always think oh no I forgot that or this at home and it usually turns up in my handbag or in the car!! classic was the other day got my son in the car and on my way to do grocery shopping....37 degree heat....got to the shop and noticed I forgot my sons thongs.....great, here I was carrying my son until we found a bloody trolley that I could put him in with the kid bit at the front....arghhh I wasn't hot and sweaty before I walked in was I .... NOT!!...the joys of chemo brain.....or just me being me!! lol

Nihahi, bevlee, carlads, hope you are all well......not long carlads until the 'big day' ....

OHHH - ya'll have a nice snowshoe. I'll have tea and scones waiting with a warm fire. I love strong English tea. Have several packets of Taylors of Harrogate.

Benny - where are you?  Hope your absence means only that you internet is down again. Virtual (((HUGS))) sister warrior.

Yaaaah - Bearcub for being done with the rads.  Don't be surprised if fatigue gets worse during the next few weeks.  Eat your protein to heal those cells.  Enjoy your new found freedom.

Liefie - I'm sorry to hear about your cousin. You can be a source of info for her. I took HRT also but don't beat myself up about it. What it is is what it is. I took it because they thought it lowered heart disease risk and my dad had terrible heart disease. When they decided it offered no protection for heart disease I quit it but was on about 5 years. Then both my parents died from cancer though smoking related my dad from bladder cancer and my mom from either stomach or pancreatic cancer. Not much cancer in my family though my maternal GF did die from Hodgkins lymphoma.

Dakota - soccer again this weekend? I forget where you live.

Hope everyone is bundled up warm tight. It was 79 here yesterday but much cooler today. Sat on porch yesterday and sunned my lily white legs a bit until the bees started to buzz me. Didn't think I smelled all that good since hadn't showered yet.

Off shortly for DH's colonoscopy. So far he's tolerated the prep pretty good with little complaints for a man.  TTYL

liefie what a diagnosis! one cancer enough of a shock. Here's to the end of them all.
DH's are a hoot aren't they ? mine has a head like a seive. While we were shopping for this bathroom the salesgirl gave him all the information we needed then 5 minutes later he starts asking her questions about everything she had just said, as if she hadn't spoken at all. The expression " the lights are on, but no one home " comes to mind when I look at him some time.lol.
Pea soup, oh how I could down a big dish of that right now please. we just had a bit of snow this morning but thank goodness all melted now. Defo soup weather.
I too had HRT for quite a few years but stopped when a dear friend was diagnosed with BC and was told that it had probably caused it.
Just ignore that treadmill, they are instruments of torture.
Hammock swinging gently with a good book my kind of excercise. x

Websister, you look after all of us so well, now your turn ! Rest and relax, that is an order xx
Pressie in car lol. I have completely mislaid a pressie I bought for a dear friend and have had the place apart. Could it be in your car ? x

Traii, Does sound as if the pill has a lot to answer for. Glad you stopped when you did.x

Luvmy, looking forward to those scones and tea. We only drink a brand called Yorkshire tea. It is lovely and a decent strength to. As Harrogate is in Yorkshire we knew it would be good. You would love Betty's Tea Rooms there. Real old fashioned service from waitresses wearing white aprons and little caps. Gorgeous home made cakes too.
Hope DH got through the colonoscopy ok ? My DH had one last year, polyp removed but benign thank goodness but we had a year of him suffering ( not in silence ) before I got him to go to the Doctor. x

nihahi, thanks for the ride, now head for those scones and tea x

Benny/Carla/Bearcub/65/jenny/Bevlee and anyone else hope you are all ok. x

Oh no Benny, don't feel sorry for me!  I was happy all through treatment and remained upbeat.  Just wanted to give you hope that one day you will feel better too.  After chemo I feel more optimistic about my future, probably because I don't feel so blah.  I'm going to try to relax until the next scans in June.

    Hi Ladies,

Head buzzed last night!  Not bad at all...  I will try to post pictures later.

Traii, I have developed a slight cough not too bad but I think it might be the Taxotere??  I don't feel sick.

Nihahi, count me in..  I'll be there with you.

Websister, I do things like that all the time and until now I haven't' had an excuse.  The other day I was looking for my Uggs.  I had my son helping me look, it was driving me crazy..  I looked down and I was wearing them. Scary!

Dakota, you made me laugh!!  I can see myself doing the same thing getting something out of the oven!!

    Benny, thinking of you.

Liefie, so sorry to hear about your cousin.  Please keep us posted and she is in my prayers.

Luvmy, Belvee,Bearcub, have a great weekend.

    Jenny, Hope you are Ok?

    Caitlin, how are you?

Hope999, You are amazing..  Saying prayers for a good reports in June.

    Love you all,

Carlads, you are so right that that cough is caused by the Taxotere. Was the same for me.

Lyvmygoats, my cousin lives in South Africa. Hopefully she is on private healthcare as the government healthcare system is in a shambles. State patients have to bring their own bedlinen and cutlery because everything has been stolen from many of the hospitals, and the care is mediocre . . . let me say no more.

Edi, my DH does the exact same thing. Sometimes after I've told him something, and I see that spaced-out look, I tap my finger against his forehead and say, 'Enter, enter, Mars to Earth!' That does not go down too well, but hey, you have to get his attention somehow!?

Did not go on the treadmill, but DH moved it to a better position because he was going to go on it - also did not happen. Oh well, today I'm going to the gym, and will be better. This week was bad for me exercise wise. Have to get my act together.

Nihahi, enjoy the snowshoe. I still remember how fresh the air was outside after a snowfall, or how lovely it was on the mountains when we went skiing.

Dakota, sorry about your wig and lashes, but it was a funny mental picture! Maybe take it off before cooking; you don't have to look pretty for that.

Everybody have a good weekend. We're off to Victoria for a conference, and I'm getting my second haircut tomorrow. So excited about that!

UHH Traii - Thongs here are naughty girl underwear. But I grew up SW US and Hawaii and that's what we called them then. Flipflops now.

Edi - I neglected to tell u how much I love your wig. And you are the naughty one.

Liefie - I will get your relative's relation to you straight.  Hope your cousin has the private healthcare.  Egads - we think we have it bad when we have to wait for tests.  At least we don't have to cart our own bedding to hospital.  Congrats on the 2nd haircut.  I googled pics of Victoria, very beuatiful even if most I saw were definitely spring/summer.  How special.

DH colonoscopy uneventful but slower to wake up than I was for mine in Dec.  He's on the 10 year plan now, nothing found.  He's napping the afternoon away on the couch.  Sun is finally out, yay!. I want my 79 degrees back, whine, whine, whine.

Dakota - Soccer tonight?  Sorry about the singe on wig/lashes. Are you in for more snow?

Nihahi - How was the snowshoeing?

Websister - How are you feeling today after Herceptin?

Bevlee - Don't stay away so long.

Carla - Looks like Traii answered your question about your cough.

Bearcub - What did you do today to celebrate?

Benny Benny wherefore art thou Benny?

    Happy Friday to everyone.

    Hi everyone

Edi - that guy really gets around, doesn't he? I thought he was my naughty secret ;). My lips are sealed as long as yours are.

Nihahi - I'm in the backpack and

Luvmygoats - tea and scones sounds great afterwards. I had my first colonoscopy at thirty, precancerous polyps removed, I have had them regularly since; my father, uncle and grandfather on that side of the family had colon cancer; I also have the pleasure of upper GI endoscopy every three years with biopsies along with them - the prep is no fun but the drugs they give for the procedures are pretty good

Traii - enjoyed your 'thong' story, when I was growing up that's what we called 'flip flops', my boys still laugh when I forget and mention my 'thongs'

Liefie - looking forward to pictures of your lovely new haircut. Enjoy your weekend in Victoria

Dakota - sorry to hear about the restless legs, I believe I have read that they can be caused by chemo. Maybe the time in Nihahi's backpack with us will help and I'm sure there's no problem being back in time for your son's game.

Carlads - I am 7 weeks post chemo and just now getting over 'the cough'

I didn't make the treadmill today and I have to confess that I went out for a meeting for work this a.m., got side-tracked with another meeting and some other questions, didn't head home until after lunch time, thought to stop and pick up McDonald's for my 17 year old for his lunch, he wasn't home when I got home so guess who ate the McDonald's? And I still haven't treadmilled. My manager asked to talk to me and he has received official information that I'm not returning Feb. 1st, so insurance company must have accepted the oncologist's documentation. He wanted to know what had been happening as he never expected me back until April.

Herceptin not too bad so far, went to bed early last night, legs achy this a.m. and napped this afternoon (but that could have been the McDonald's also ;). Going out to hear an acoustic group this evening, supposed to have wonderful harmonies - looking forward to that.

Benny - looking forward to hearing how the appointment went yesterday and that you are doing OK

    Have a good weekend everyone

Maybe you thought I was having hot flashes too? No matter, it was fun to have you all along for the fun. Not the best day for photography, but here's a few that some of you may have missed seeing.
