!!! Melbourne cold definition - 21 degrees, windy and cool (not awesome cool , cold cool )
I had to wear long sleeves today and pants
Websister, again, you put my mind at ease, every now and then I get a cough and think when is it going to stop, but if yours is just easing 7 weeks post chemo, my minds a little more at ease x That treadmill of yours needed a rest anyway, shame on your son not being home for McDonalds, well you can't let it go to waste, good thing you ate it
!!!!!!! lolLol Dakota, DS definetely doesn't wear the Victoria Secret kind of 'thongs' lol

Luvmy, thongs, yes they are a 'naughty' piece of underwear here too....lol
-
Hi beautiful girls. Weather has turned yuk again here. Chaos again due to bad snow fall. On the news some poor people have had to spend all night in their cars/lorries on one of the motorways.
They have even built snowmen there.
DH came home from work about 9pm, phone rings, he was in the car on the drive outside standing on the footbrake and holding on the handbrake as his car was sliding towards MY car and the front door of the house.Edi runs out with that amazing snow shovel and digs snow from around back of wheels and then grits so he can reverse out !! Only a tiny slope in the drive but could have been worse.Traii,My girls posted that pic on f/b with the " I saw Mummy" tag underneath lol.
Thongs as luvmy says are naughty knickers here too. Wondered why your DS was wearing them, now understand flip flops ha ha.Hope 999, lovely post for Benny, good luck for June sure all will be fine.
Dakota, you crack me up. The hair and lashes ! It is my one worry that I will do just that. I turned on our gas fire and nearly did the same. Just pulled back in time.Hope you feeling better and have a not to busy weekend.
Carla, pics please.so glad you haven't been sick. I do the Ugg thing with my specs, they are usually on my head like a hairband.
Luvmy, wig not bad is it ? will post other one soon.Hope DH has recovered ok.
Liefie, my friend is in s/Africa at the moment staying with her daughter for six weeks she is 85 and not in the best of health just pray she never needs hospital !! Think her daughters insurance covers her.
Mars to earth, love it lol.
Enjoy Victoria and 2nd haircut.
Bearcub. Do hope you celebrated your freedom ? My wig is so handy right now, keeping head warm.Websister, We can defo share him. My lips ARE sealed.Hope you are not too bad today.Mum too.
Colonoscopy at 30, just glad for you they are keeping an eye on things with the family history.
Glad work sorted out too.Nihahi, Those grouse are perfect for the meadow. What beautiful pics. Is that where you go every time ?
-28 makes England feel tropical lol.Got to go and fiddle about with latest cake order. It is being collected in a few hours. Must txt and tell them not to turn into my driveway !!
Luv to everyone. X

Quick question, does anyone else have the sensation when eating bread or biscuits that it is like chewing on a bath sponge ?
Most other things taste ok ,it is more how these two feel in the mouth.
Know probably silly question but it is really freaking me out. lol
Hope it doesn't stay like this
-
This is me and my BC buddy. She had IDC, they said mx she said take them both. Chemo etc two years out now. She is so well and my inspiration.
She is also GD's other Nana and was told she didn't have to go back to the clinic for a year on the day I was diagnosed.Isn't life weird ?
-
U both look great!!!
-
Love the pic Edi

Ahh see I like your girls way of think ...just like me....'I saw mummy'....lol
I really am your cyber baby....lol
Hope u made the cake in time !!!
Love the story of you going outside with your shovel for DH....LUCKY the car didn't roll onto yours! (Can just picture you going outside and saving the day!! ) Lol
Poor DH..last thing he would have wanted to deal with after getting home from work!!!
Can't say I've had the issue re bread or biscuits....with CMF EVERYTHING tastes good lol -
Dakota, you are beautiful. No wonder your kids want you out with them.
Traii, the gypsies defo stole you from me and took you to Aus.lol.
If DH had hit my car he would have been trying to find his teeth in the snow.
Told him I love my little car more than him. She is my lifeline.
Cake finished in plenty of time and the lads who ordered it loved it. It is going to a big party tonight, so hope they get me some orders, won't be going back to work as my lovely bosses are giving up the pub so need a few bob to keep my little car on the road.
off to a bit of a do tonight with my girls. need to go and slap on warpaint and comb the wig.
quite looking forward to cmf now, thanks. Will check in and see what you have all been up to later.
Lovsya all xx
-
Thanks edi - when I uploaded it it was not sideways i swear

-
Dakota, I agree....you are beautiful! (we all are aren't we!)
Edi, gosh, Britain is having quite the winter this year. Never mind, when you are counting spring flowers, I'll likely still be snowshoeing! Hope you have a wonderful evening out. You Brits sure have beautiful looking skin! Shows in all your photos!
We try to do different trails every time we go out. They have been pretty tame ones so far this year, because of my shoulders. I tried using poles for about 30 minutes yesterday, and the dang shoulders tired pretty quickly, but, it's a start. I can only expect to have some soreness until I get stronger. Still not ready to ski, which is my real passion. OH well.
Food tasted weird to me the whole time I was on chemo, and for a few months after. I think part of that is due to the changes you get to the tissues on your tongue and inside your mouth. Things smelled "off" too, things that I usually like, I couldn't stand for awhile. My poor hubby had to stop using his(and my) favorite cologne, as it smelled absolutely rancid to me on chemo days! It does pass, and things return to normal.
Remember the "friend" who I had the chat with about my boob/her grey hair??? When I informed people that I had gotten the surgery date for April, she sent me an email saying what a horrendous surgery it sounded like, why on earth would I want that done, and I should have taken the original 2014 info as a sign I shouldn't have the reconstruction!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soooo no longer a friend of mine! Who says things like that to someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. This has been an interesting week....mooseballs, nipples and thongs! Cannot wait to start the next topic!!!!!!
Benny, sure hope your silence is due to technical difficulties.....if not, we need to hear from you!
-
Nihahi- I agree not A very good friend. Thanks for the compliment. Have a great day

-
Dakota, it wasn't sideways, hope your weekend going well.
Nihahi, hope your shoulder recovered. If all the trails are as lovely as those you are a lucky lady.
Today most of snow melting, now big panic because there will now be flooding in may places. At least DH didn't slide down the drive tonight.
Night out now not happening, quite relieved really as been sorting out two bedrooms today and now pooped.
Thanks about the food. Feel happier now and as Traii says CMF didn't affect her in that way.
That person needs a good slap !! How dare she pass any comment at all, never mind a negative one. I have come across a few like her on my journey and now just ignore them. It is her loss not yours the bxxxh.
Love the way people tell you what you should do, how you should feel etc and they haven't ever had anything worse than a bad tummy ache.
I was told by a "friend" as she was going for her mammogram that she would be fine as she self examined. I lost it completely and told her in no uncertain terms how the hell did she think I had found the freaking lump ?
Know what you are having done is not at all easy, but it is the means to a beautiful end.Hope everyone ok x
-

Edi, Santa was here too!! -
Sorry ladies, I'm trying to upload pictures.. I can get them to upload then when I post they aren't there!
-
dakotai you gorgeous thing...love the avatar

Nihahi...what a nice friend you had...NOT cant believe some people
My 3rd cousins mum said 'oh breast cancer. Well 2 of my friends got it...and they are stage 4...happens to most not all'
Im thinking is she for f&$@n real....I had been dxd, teying tocome to terms with MY diagnosis and she goes and throws that in....seriously what the hell do people think!!!!
Oh I love how peoples reaction to my bc was "oh yeh I have lumps all benign all cysts how unfortunate you are at your age .." ummmmm helllloooo at any age is unfortunate and im glad yours is benign but mines not and im dealing with it and am more damn positive then you are!!!! Arghhh dont u want to slap them some times!!!
Ive got 2 girlfriends that come in mind...messaged or called at the start, now nothing....its sad because this is my journey and they wanted to be part of it to help me get through it but where are they!!! Not that i need them I have much more positive people around to show me the love...lol.....but still...do they want back in when chemos done....well bad luck for them!!!
one of them was in hospital for 5weeks bedridden while pregnant and i still went in kept her company AND looked after her DD.....oh well...rant ovee!!!
Edi on Tax as we all know tongue felt fury for a week or so then ok, food tasted crap but CMF is TOTALLY different.....well hoping 2nd and 3rd lot will be same and will let you know. Bring on Tuesday for you and Weds for me...heading to the finish line
Carlads i tried yesterday to upload and couldnt either
I woke up to the sound of the rain today....arghh so nice on a sunday morning
Hugs to u all xxx -
Traii, you are so right about so called friends and relatives too. You learn on this journey who really matters.
When I was giagnosed with diabetes many years ago someone said. " My Aunt had that, she went blind and lost both her legs " If they haven't got anything good to say shut the fxxk up.( apologies )
How is your arm ?
DH has gone out for a pint with his best mate. Peace and quiet yay. He has more casual jackets than me and couldn't find a particular one so had temper tantrum. He had on a really nice one, when I complimented him he says with bottom lip sticking out, " but I wanted the beige one with the pockets on the front "Honestly !!
Think I will have an early night. Get out of the way before he returns and starts looking all over again at midnight.Have a lovely day everybody. x
-
Just weighing in. My not so DH said. Ur only stage 1, don't be so dome and gloom. And then the other day said. Ur not the only one with BC. Hmmmmm
-
OMG Dakota.....I am so sorry you have to have such a piece of **** in your life! He is slime, he is lower than slime, he is an absolute waste of a human being. I guess you are trying to keep things together for your kids, and realize that at this point, you have all you can handle, but OMG.....He needs to go somewhere else far away from your life to vent his disgusting thoughts. You are only proving how strong you are, and how special you must be to get through this with so little support. I'm sure every woman here sends you love and strength. ((((((((XXXXXXXX)))))))))
-
Hi girls, what a lively bunch you are. It is hard to keep up!
Somebody asked about my first haircut PFC. My last chemo was May 7, and I had my first trim on Dec. 3, so it took 7 months. It was not a full blown haircut, she just trimmed and tidied up. Today was a proper haircut. There was a lot of fluff and curls on the floor when she was done. It is a very short pixie style, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. She put 'moulding clay' (!!!) in my hair, and I bought a tube of the stuff. The only product I know apart from shampoo and conditioner is hairspray, so it will be interesting. . . Would love to show you what it looks like. Will ask my boys next weekend to help me get a photo on here.
Dakota, I cannot believe your DH. Wow! What a prince.
Websister, don't feel too bad about the treadmill. I fell totally off the wagon last week as far as exercise. My objective is to get fit and strong before the recon surgery so that I can recover from that as quickly as I can. Now I must just put my money where my mouth is, and actually do the exercise. Thinking about it won't make me fit - LOL.
Edi, you and your buddy are really cute together. Hope you get many cake orders. Do you ship overseas? I need a birthday cake for DH in a few weeks' time.
Traii, I wish I could send you some more rain from where I live. It's been raining for three days now, and we need a little sunshine. It's just weird how some people react to the cancer news. Instead of just being your friend and acting as always, they shy away from you, probably because they feel 'uncomfortable'. That just sucks, because this is the time that you really need their support. I simply don't understand it.
I am a little worried about Benny. She has not posted in a while, and I hope she is okay.
Good night, everybody.
-
Hi Liefie, Sitting here at 1:30am defrosting a bag of frozen peas on my chest and saw your posting. Sounds like your new hairdo is lovely and fun. So happy for you that you are now at the real haircut stage!
We are all wondering what is going on with Benny. Last word from her was that she was heading out for her first appointment at the Support centre. I'm guessing that someone decided she really did need more care than she was managing to do for herself at home and that she is now being helped in hospital. (Even though I know she wouldn't be happy with that scenario).
Except for Traii and Bevlee, who should be up and about at this time (I think) I hope everyone is having sweet dreams.
-
Dakota, you beautiful wonderful sister, Nihahi has said it all. Your not DH is beyond belief ! I do believe in Karma and now pray I am right. One day his turn will come and boy I hope it is a really nasty turn.
Love and strength from me too ((((HUG)))) XLiefie, Can't wait to see those pics, hair clay is great in enables you to mould your style and keep it that way.
Wish I could ship darn cakes, could go international. lol
Like you feel the need to get exercising, was going to do brisk walking then it snowed ( my excuse and I am sticking to it ) no seriously found my trainers and tracksuit when turfing out the wardrobe yesterday. Almost sent them to the charity shop but didn't no excuse now.
We have dreadful floods here in parts of the country. Melting snow causing chaos. Not here thank goodness but so many homes and businesses destroyed.
Glad you think bc buddy and I look cute lol that is my mad wig reserved for going out only.Catch up with all your adventures later, Sunday morning here so newspapers and relaxing followed by a teeny bit of shopping later. X
-
Edi.......forgot my time zones and didn't think you'd be up! Good morning to you, hope you and yours stay dry and safe.
-
nihahi, bless you sweetheart. We both must have posted at the same moment.
The sun is shining now !!! quite cosy today. Have a lovely Sunday yourself. Hope shoulder eases soon and you can use those poles. X -
So sorry you have to join this "club". It is shocking to hear. When I got the call I had to pass the phone to my husband because I just did not want to hear about it. But today breast cancer is one of the most curable cancers. You'll get through it. The worst part for me is all the waiting. Waiting for results. Waiting to hear. Waiting to heal from the op. But I'm doing better each day. So will you. Wishing you much strength, because that's really what it takes.
-
Hi girls just a quick enquiry, have been recommended a natural deodrant and wonder if any of you have tried this.
It would seem that there is evidence that the aluminium chlorhydrate etc in ordinary ones may contribute to BC.
Also a report that higher instance of bc in left breast due to fact right handed ladies squirt aerosols or roll on the other ones with more pressure under this arm.
Know it may be all heresay but I for one am using the solid mineral stick. You just wet under tap and apply. It doesn't stop you perspiring but has in it something natural to combat odour.
Seems it lasts for ages and is available widely. It is called lafe's deodrant stick. May be worth a google.
I applied this morning, bit moist but no pong lol. -
Hi Edi, I have read and heard stuff about the aluminum "factor" in both BC and Alzheimers. I have a friend (a REAL friend) who has used a natural one for years. I guess I'm on the fence about should I, shouldn't I. Do you have any info on what difference it makes to change if you've used the aluminum based ones for years?
Late night defrosting of peas was 'cause of the implant pain, not the shoulder. As you all know, pain, etc. always seems worse at night.
Gosh, I wish Benny would check in!
-
Good Morning Ladies,
Rainy Sunday here.. It's nice I am snuggling with my dogs under a blanket. I was thinking about what people have said to me. I had a woman call me she she is more of a acquaintance not a close friend, first thing she asked me "What stage are you?" I really wanted to say none of your business! At the time I didn't know what stage. I just thought that was so RUDE. People need to think before they speak..
Edi, I love your last picture.
Dakota you are beautiful!! I totally agree with everything Nihahi wrote!
Nihahi, aren't frozen peas a wonderful thing I even used them on my head during my last treatment, I'm sure I will have them out again next week.
Traii, dang it I am going to try and post pictures again today. So glad the new meds are easier on you. Do the SE's of Taxotere get worse each time. I know it's cumulative so I am expecting it will be.
Liefie, I bet your hair looks great.. I am setting here thinking about putting a little cap on, I didn't realize how cold a head can get.
Websister, Luvmy, Bevlee, I hope you are all having a good weekend.
Benny, Caitlin, I hope you both are OK!
Love you all,
Carla
-
Hi Carla...yes frozen peas are a medical marvel aren't they? I can barely stand to eat peas at this point though as I have way too much time lately with the "Jolly Green Giant" on my chest
.Did your doc have any ideas to help with your chemo migraine? Sure hope so. Snuggle away with your doggy, sometimes a lazy, rainy day are exactly what we need. Everybody feels like laying low on those kind of days, so you don't feel such like the "cancer patient", just a normal couch potato!
Caitlin, how ARE you doing with your healing?
-
Not being very productive today, is anyone else having a lazy day besides Carla and me? However I FOUND THE MOOSE PICTURES! This is the fellow I almost skied into last year. The photos aren't the best as it was getting dark, and I wasn't going to get too close to him, so these are taken with a small camera on high zoom. But....you get the idea. Beautiful isn't he! Not to worry, it wasn't my car he was licking!

-
nihahi, what fab pics of the Moose !! he was gorgeous but wouldn't want to get on wrong side of him lol.
Gosh sorry ,thought peas were for shoulder, implant pain owww.
I have had a shooting pain down side of bc boob this avo and get a bit scared when that happens. Surgeon says he got it all but I think how is he so sure ?Might stuff some peas down my bra.
As for the changing deodrants now, haven't heard wether it makes a difference. Might be shutting stable door after horse has bolted.
Speaking of which hope Benny is being cared for somewhere safe. Or that she just can't get on line.xCarla, you sound great ! Pic's still playing up ,wish I could send my ED through cyber space, she sorted me out in 5 mins.
Sitting here with fluffy hat on watching tv, took of wig after shopping and it is perishing cold. I always wear one to bed too.
How nosey and awful of that person to ask you that. A young lady we have been raising funds for here was on a radio programme and someone rang in and said " what will happen to the money if she dies ? " The poor girl collapsed. How heartless can you get ?
If I think people are going to say something horrid I say "I am fine and only the good die young "then walk away laughing like a mad woman lol.You would have all laughed if you could have seen me shopping today. i haven't been out without DH in tow for weeks so as it was sunny and pleasant he stayed in and played guitar.
I hit the shops running. Two trolley's later car boot full to top and I had a BALL. His face when he unloaded car was a picture. No worries tho it is my pension money I have just handed over.
Doing pork steaks, mash, savoy cabbage with onion gravy for dinner and again feel hungry which is a relief.
Bloods tomorrow, if ok CMF starts Tuesday ,just four of them maybe overlapping with rads so light at end of tunnel. It really does go fast, thank goodness xx
love you all, come on and let us know how you are doing, we may not mention you by name but you are in our thoughts and hearts.
