Off to squishee-ville tomorrow ladies! Been running around like a mad woman cramming as much into one day as possible so I don't have to think about going under the knife. Just finished four loads of laundry. Wrapped up a marathon work day and played hard with my kids between the end of the work day and bedtime. Oh - and spent over an hour waiting for a fresh blood draw since they only looked at my pre-surgical lab work from 12/20 today and decided they wanted to check my white counts one last time to make sure I'd be good to go. Why they only had one person drawing blood today is beyond me. Put a major crimp in my crazy lady schedule today. But my counts are up and I get to say toodles to my rocks tomorrow afternoon. Woo hoo! Hugs to all! I'm off to take a hibiclens shower, drink my last cup of water and down a xanax so I can hopefully catch a wink or two of sleep!

Hi Marian, thanks for asking. I'm at day 9 of chemo #5 and doing better than last time so far. The SE's seem easier and no fever so far this time. But, feeling pretty exhausted and sleeping more now. ONE more chemo to go on the 16th and then on to rads. Like everyone, I can't wait for this to be done! And, how are you doing these days? Climbing any mountains? :-) I did get out to Campbell Valley Park and enjoyed walking along the trails in the sunshine the other day. Xox

Got my drains removed on Wednesday and am now 2 weeks and 4 days post bmx. It feels like my skin is "sticking! To my chest wall. I know there is still fluid floating around in there because I can hear it squishing around. I am afraid they took out my drains too soon and they are gonna have to go in with a needle and drain the fluid. Yuck!

Any of you ladies felt tightness and as if your skin was "glued" to your chest wall? I don't know how else to describe it.

Hope all you ladies are having a better 2013 than 2012! Be blessed, Sisters!

yes, I still have tightness.  It's the building of scar tissue and the stiches.

Yep.. me too. I still have tightness along my scar area.  Also I still get that feeling of a pinching and I had surgery in August.

Hi Ladies - Im new to this forum...was just diagnosed in October and had a double mastectomy in November. Looking for help and support - kind of feel im in this alone right now. Saw my oncologist today and she said my ct scan shows nodules in my lungs - about 10 of them - all small less than 4 mm, the lymph nodes around the lungs are normal. Im so scared - have any of you gone through this?

Hi Karen, welcome, you are not alone.

I like your username - karenneedshope - I hope you are able to change it as you go through this journey to Karenhashope. It is very scary to hear that scans were not clean but it doesn't necessarily mean that the lung nodules are cancerous. Take one step at a time.

I did not have lung nodules but my ct scan did show small lesions on my liver and spleen. These lesions weren't biopsied so I don't know if they were metastases. My MO said that even if they were it wouldn't change my course of treatment so we proceeded. Here I am six months later and feeling much better about everything, in large part due to the support here.

The ladies on this forum are wonderful, you couldn't ask for a better group to support you as you go through this journey. We are here with you throughout.

Take a nice deep breath, be extra good to yourself this weekend and try not to worry. A little more advice - don't do too much googling right now, it can be scary and not all of the information you read is good information.

I'm sure the others will have more advice and kind words for you.

    Take care

    Dear kareneedshope,

I had lung nodules show up on my scan as well, and it frightened me more than anything. When I went for my 6 month follow up scan there was nothing, and the radiologist said that I didn't need any more follow up scans, he said almost everyone has these nodules from time to time, and 99% of them are nothing.

    Hope this helps!

    Susannah

Thank you websister and SusannahW. Your support means so much to mean. I'm sitting here crying - it's a good release I guess. I have had such a hard time with this journey. It seems that there has been nothing but bad news since October. I'm mad at myself for spending the past 24 hours on google learning that I have only five years to live if this is in fact a breast cancer in the lung. I've had a dry cough since I was diagnosed and now I'm wondering if that is due to possible lung cancer - it does seem worse since I've started chemo (I've had one treatment last Friday). Or maybe the cough is due to dust allergies or the cold weather - I don't know. :(( So very sad and worried. Does chemo shrink these nodules if they are cancer? Is that the best treatment?

Stop googling!  The  stats are out of date and really don't have anything to do with you.  You don't know that this is from the cancer, and even if it is, you don't know how you will respond to treament.  Listen to Susannah!

Hi Cindyl - You are so right! Googling has been the worst thing i have done! I've learned my lesson that's for sure! I'm going to spend my computer time here finding support and advice and guidance instead. Thank you for your words of wisdom!!
