food, food, food, food...hooray for food!
-
Way to go, Galsal, a new page starting with food.
-
Omeggo LOL! Count me in for Cheesecake Factory, it will be good to see you gals again!
-
Actually, I have a plan, starting Januayr 20th or so, when most of the chemo side effects have calmed down. (Last chemo was yesterday - Yippee!)
I will be eating salad, chicken, rice, oatmeal, and eggs, protein powder (chocolate, of course, never, ever soy)...that is the body builders diet, in various combinations of the above, to the tune of about 1600 calories a day. Now That is actually A LOT of food. No fat, no sugar, no flour...but I do get two 'cheat meals' a week and yes, ladies, I cheat very, very well!
The BB diet is quite spectacular, too, in that one eats smallish portions (3 oz chicken, 1/2 C rice, unlimited plain salad for example) about 6 -7 times a day. The body uses every bit of the calories it gets, since it isn't storing any energy. Makes muslces, in fact, if one works out! We turn into metabolic machines!!!
Maybe I'll 'think the cheesecake through' and just have those salad wraps. They looked great and not quite so, well one could say, heart stopping...(Yikes!)
-
Omeggo, you could always share a bite of cheesecake or three from me (you can go first). I certainly don't need to eat it all.
-
Shells, what a concept!!!! Moderation, sharing...I'll give it a whirl! I'm not being ironic, sarcastic or anything. It never occured to me. (Such a type A overdoer of EVERYTHING that I am...) But we'd need to agree to flavor selection...I'll try to be flexible. Since my (last) chemo on Thursday and the extra Decadron and Aloxi infusion yesterday, I'm cortizone-huge at the moment, the moon face, etc. In fact, I weighed in at over 126 this morning...haven't seen that in a really long time. So I might get the gelatin faux cheesecake after all, or the 'virtual' cheesecake (just looking at the picture, kinda thing).
Good thing I have two weeks to sort this all out.
Now I have to figure out how to deal with the intense nausea at the moment. Despite ALL those anit emetics. Gee whiz!
-
Omeggo, YAY, on finishing your last chemo! Hope your tummy feels better soon, you can't pass on the real cheesecake!
Monday's child, Add me to the list for the 12th! For the record, I WILL BE ordering cheesecake, and I will SHARE
-
shells, do you want to car pool on the 12th? let me know.
-
oh, I'm having cheesecake all right! Maybe a salad to make up for it.
-
Yep, we can carpool!
-
HI All, Not sure yet, but hoping to join all of you on the 12th! Hope all had a good holiday. I was fortunate to spend it with family
.
Doing well after BMX, had GREAT BS and PS. They worked out well for me. HATE the TE, though. Have not slept a night through since Nov. 11th. Lol, but this, too, shall pass... just developed Mondor's Cord. Not serious, but pretty uncomfortable. Anyone else ever have it?
So glad to hear you have finished last chemo, Omeggo. You must be so relieved! Praying that your tummy gets better every day1
Hugs to all,
Pam
