I tried not to comb my hair today Edi, Its just coming out and feels really soft and weird. I put hairspray to keep it in place and had the 'curly' look today.....not really my thing but wasn't too bad.
My hands are soo sooo dry....I've moisturised. well I've lost count how many times today, bought myself some gloves to wash the dishes and clean bathrooms etc....( hate wearing them but I guess I'm hating lots of things right now but have to do it for the interim)! Think I might start using the dishwasher again!!
I had to sit my son down today (almost 3 years old but very very smart - takes after me not his father...lol) and tell him again that he has to hug mummy gently because her hair will come out.....So in saying this, I get a reply of ' mummy, why your hair coming out' I said darlin' because you know how mummy is having medicene to make her all better, well her hair has to come out because that means she's getting better and when the medicene finishes the hair will come back' so Mr cheeky said, "oh so mummy will look like a boy....I don't want mummys hair to go, I like it".....I said "yes mummy likes it too but it will all come back and grow long again" he said "yes mummy you do that get better hair come back "
Then I had to wipe my tears away because I was told "no more tears mummy, I'm here" ! too sweet coming from a toddler!
On the upside, I spent the arvo making Orange & Almond biscottini & prepared the christmas fruit cake..... dried fruit all in with a cup of rum ..... smells divine..... lol then tomorrow to bake it....
Benny, try the saltine biscuits hun, I enjoyed those ...even if you have a favourite spread to put on them...my favourite, vegemite and cheese, yummy...... Its a craving or a phase I"m going through at the moment... lol.
Soon enough you'll be feeling well again to go out and enjoy your big plush toy Diamond
Bearcub, be sure to let us know when your hair starts to show.....bet you can't wait for that day to come.

-
Ugh, I am tired of feeling sick and it's only day three. Will try the saltines, Traii, thanks. The other weird thing is that the chronic stomach upset is now affecting my lungs and breathing. Everything is an effort. Am downing Gatorade and high protein Boost to keep going.
When will it end? -
Benny - is it possible you are constipated? The anti-nausea meds can do that. Some people also find that they do well to have a med like Zantac for heartburn symptoms which can seem like lung symptoms. Ovol is also good for helping move gassiness. The nausea shouldn't last much longer, hang in there, Warrior Lady.
It's a beautiful day outside today, isn't it? I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy it a bit.
Take care ((())) -
Traii, hair now gettin on my nerves ! and everywhere else too. Move suddenly and it is like a silver shower everywhere. Looks a bit thinner but still there.
You telling your little boy made me have a little weep. How adorable is he. Sounds like a very clever and wise young man. Spent this afternoon with GD and her Mum, watched her swimming like a tiny mermaid at the local pool. Then we had a snack, the place had a xmas tree up which was beautiful. The look on her face was magical.
When I dropped them off she gave me the gentlest kiss and hug, she is my medicine right now, as is your little boy to you I am sure.
Orange and Almond biscottini, sounds lush. Could just chomp through a plate of that right now.
Benny, sorry you are still feeling yucky. Websister is spot on, the anti nausea tablets seem to have some awful side effects.Hope you find a solution soon. If you are constipated that can make you feel so bad too. I eat a tangerine every evening that seems to help. You will get through this.Do you have a helpline ? Hope so ,they sorted me out when things got a bit too much, gave me the solution to my problem.
Hope everyone's Sunday is a bit better than today.
-
not constipated, not eating, just gatorade and water all i can get down. so sick. took a maxeran. good thing there's no gun in the house
-
Benny, please don't give up. If tummy is empty, wind can make you feel really vile.
-
i can't eat edi, just can't swallow it. tried piece of cracker but couldn't do it
-
have gaviscon, a friend is bringing over more Boost. how much boost can a person drink? will it keep them alive?
-
benny, please google this gatorade you are drinking. I had never heard of it and just did. Not good unless you are doing lots of sport as it is very high in sodium too. Just water or fruit juice instead, could be wrong but you could be dehydrating yourself.
-
good idea edi, never thought of that. i have apple juice here, will drink that instead ♥
-
Hope it works, and you improve. Just treat your body as a temple and only put pure stuff in, we warriors have to combat the chemo tribe stomping around our veins somehow ! LOL.
-
i can't do 5 more rounds of this

-
Benny, of course you can, I have seven more and 25 flippin rads as well but I just keep thinking about summer next year ,when all being well it will be a distant memory.
You must do this for Diamond too. Try and get to see your plush toy as soon as you can.
.will send out healing thoughts to you right now.The warrior sisters need their scout.
-
Benny, sorry to hear you're having a rough patch, but honestly that's all it is, I was saying I wanted to give up on day 3...that was the day I didn't have steroids ( it really was the steriods talking) emotionally draining. I wanted to scream, I cried I cried I said no more of this crap...I felt good before it all, got through surgery and all and now chemo is making me sick......but you know what, there really is light at the end of the tunnel....day 7 was a turn around...I felt normal.....I still do (except for the hair and dry hands) but you do get through this stage....I'm emotionally preparing myself again for 2nd round on Wednesday.... you can do this do not give up.
I probably wouldn't suggest Apple Juice because it can give you the runs to the loo.....probably best to stick to water and cordial......thats what I've been living on and the food, well I eat anything and everything.
Juice in moderation to avoid having mouth ulcers, well its unavoidable at times but it may hurt them if they are on there way!
Not too much Saltines incase it constipates you....if it's not one thing its another but you will get through this.
We have gatorade here, I don't like it all that much but cordial on the other hand yummy.....I think I have all flavours in the cupboard

Just like Edi said, though I have 5 more chemos all up and then no rads for me only because I can't have any more as I had in the passed.....next summer we will be here showing off our new locks and you'll be showing us new photos of you and Diamond.
Hope you have minimal SE's today and have a good sleep , you are a warrior, a fighter if we can do it so can you hun...
Edi, my hair is driving me mad..I actually just want it to hurry up and get lost because waking up to hair everywhere and trying to wash what I have, I can't even comb it without it all coming out....driving me crazIER! LOL
I'm going out with my cap on today, its really nice just because I'm so vain with my hair...lol I will cover up the top as its thinning and I'm not liking this new do...don't want to put my wig on because I don't want to sit there plucking out damn hair in the wig cap all night long.....(I'd rather do it in a $10 cap then a $315 wig!!
I'm glad you had a great arvo with the GD and her mummy....
My son is too cute I must admit...this morning he saw me doing my hair and said no mum hair coming out..I said I know but I want it to come out now because its doing my head in......lol and he said oh ok mum......( looking rather odd at me) !!
Enjoy your Sunday everyone

Benny
If nausea is the main problem you could consider taking a Zofran or calling the oncologist on call and discussing taking the Zofran you have. I have a friend who is the same regimen as us and she wasn't given Zofran for day 2 and 3 the first time, the next time this was corrected for her and she did much better. Remember, they do want you to be comfortable and to stay nourished and hydrated. -
Traii, so agree about the hair. Right this moment feel as if it is moving on it's own ! Just want to wake up tomorrow with a nice bare head. DH being an angel as I have an angry day today.
Bought him a book from amazon the other day called. Breast Cancer Husband. by Marc Silver. He has been reading it every spare minute and says all the right things at the right time. Good investment. lol.
I know I haven't had it too bad luckily, but not sure if I will be brave if it turns yucky.
On way to bed in a minute, silly little sleep cap on that makes me look like an elf but keeps any hair loss contained. Just pulled two more hairs off the front of my sweater.:-((
Hope Sunday is a better day for all my brave and beautiful warrior sisters.
-
EDI, Book sounds like a great investment lol.....
My husband hates reading otherwise I'd be shopping for thst book !!
Hope u wake up having a better day !
I sure woke up having a less of a hair day
If we have a bad week next week we'll be in it together!
Good night sweet pea
-
in two days i have managed to get down two spoonfuls of soup and a half a slice of bread. i am living off water and boost. have never been so sick in all my life. can't even breathe properly. i threw up my last mouthful of boost this afternoon. will call about the zofran tomorrow. took maxeran a half hour ago.
-
Oh benny..im sorry to hear what you are going through. Does your hospital have an after hours numbrr you can call ?
What chemo you on again as i know breathing probs is a SE from Taxotere. -
i just called the emergency line and the oncologist thinks they made an error in my med schedule. She instructed me to take Zofran tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night. unfortunately it will take awhile for me to feel better again.
-
Benny so glad you made the call to the emergency, you do not have to be uncomfortable like that. We are all different chemo regiments so we all react differently but we are made to feel comfortable. Glad you will start to feel much better soon.
-
Glad u made that call Benny.
Its all upwards from here
Stay positive thinking
-
Benny sweetheart don't ever leave it that long before you call for help again !! I told you that there is help out there. The sisters are so right they may be pumping us full of terrible things but they do not want us to go home and suffer like that.
We have a 24 hr 7 day a week hotline to our onco nurses and they insist that no matter what you ring them. There is a solution to all your symptoms. It is their job to cure us not torture us.
So glad you are on the path back to normality, it may take a little time to sort SE's out but please don't put yourself through that again. The sisters need you and your lovely photos. So does Diamond. :-)
Traii, had deep sleep with lots of weird dreams. Was glad to wake up ! Peeled off elf hat and hair still there :-( bit tempted to get out the clippers but knowing me would remove scalp as well. Need bearcub and her trusty dagger.
Bearcub, hope you are going to have a happy Sunday. You are further down the path and can show us all the way.
Websister, you too.
To all warriors, today we rest and regroup for our battles next week. Peace and love to each and everyone of you. (((( big squishy hug ))))
-
Traii, knew there was something else !
Just cleaning with rubber gloves on, hate them too but to protect from cuts etc. If your hands still a problem try and get hol d of a pair of cotton gloves, last thing at night coat hands in lots of cream pop on gloves and sleep. zzzz
Hopefully will make cream more effective. I had terrible sore hands due to diabetes ends of fingers split and bleeding. :-( Did this and big improvement. Works on on feet too, with cotton socks. You could always use socks on hands if no gloves around. Sure your DH will be thrilled with the jazz hands look but hey ho lol.

Hi girls. Read up on everyone hard to get to all if u.
Edi - when is ur next treatment. I am having such a hard time with the hair thing. My counselor tells me my hair doesn't define me and I get that. I just hate it. I am so depressed today. I do have the worst husband ever if u all only knew he is not abusive physically but mentally. I am having such a hard time separating myself from him. I am trying to get thru this and not let him bother me but we got in such a wicked fight last night. It so good to hear from all of you. I hate feeling so alone so thank all off you for helping me thru this part of my life. -
Dakota, next treatment Tuesday.
Want to just give you a hug and calm your fears. It's only hair, which will be back before we know it.please watch the /cancer speaks:hair loss/ link on youtube it is very helpful.
Your counsellor correct it does not define you, your lovely spirit shines through, THAT is what defines you.
Sorry your husband is no support :-( Mental cruelty is a vile cruel experience. My Mum suffered it for years along with my brother and I. Dad was a vain, ignorant man who fed on other people's misery.
You have all of us and are NOT ALONE.
When he starts you just go to our valley where there is peace and love. He cannot follow you there.
Stay positive, Edi x

My two girls lust after Ronan, much to their partners disgust. Prefer him to Simon ( love myself ) Cowell too.
