Hugs to Benny -- glad you are there for her.
Love the picture ... You look wonderful. -
Websister, you have no idea how much it means to us all to know Benny has someone like you. Thanks for update. Poor Benny hope she isn't in hospital long but at least they can make her comfy. Give her giant warrior hug and one being sent to you too.
Bless you, Angels don't all have wings, some have really nice wigs instead. You look stunning.
Thank you x
-
What did I miss? I knew Benny was having a tough time and not posting, but she is in the hospital?
Carla
-
Carla, beautiful Benny has been really poorly with SE's after her chemo. She hadn't posted for a good few days and Websister went to check on her. She reported back that Benny was not up to posting, now she has had a fever and they have taken her into hospital. We all hope she will be home soon. If you scroll to underneath Benny's original post click on previous and it will take you back a page and you can see what has been happening. Edi
-
Give Benny our love. Hope she is out real soon with her beloved Diamond. This too will pass as hard as it seems. Check back in later.
Websister...u look gorgeous loving the wig

Thanks for the comments re: the wig

Benny will be in hospital at least until tomorrow but it sounds like things are being worked out and next chemo should be better for her.
-
So good to hear websister that things are improving for Benny

Web sister -

((((Big hugs))))) Benny! -
Calling all warrior sisters. !!
I am just putting on my makeup and best earrings, had hair buzzed right off yesterday, Bearcub you were right now really comfy !!
My daughter and her friends are raising funds to send their friend and her little boy to Disney Florida. Four of the girls are having their hair shaved off next Saturday and today we are bag packing in our local Asda.
She is now stage iv and this is her dream. Will be at the checkout with my baldy head helping to raise awareness of BC and hopefully make her dream come true.
She went two years ago when she found her lump and was told she was too young for BC, when her Aunt was diagnosed a year later she went back. Need I say more. She is an incredible young woman who we hope will be here for a long time yet. X
Will let u all know how it goes.Edi x
-
oh Edi, so happy you have done the buzz thing...I haven't but head too tender so I've overcome the hair I have left will just go when its ready...mind you I pulled it accidentally today when putting my wig on and ouchy ... lol but ouchy good feeling its mine...lol.
Oh how good you girls will all have shaved heads raising funds for your friend.....I hope her dream comes true too and am praying for her that they will and that she will be here for many more moons to come to tell her story.
Good luck with it all

Traii, hi cyber baby girl. Just got back from bag pack it was amazing people were throwing paper money in not just coins. It is continuing for a few more hours. All being well the supermarket may double whatever we make !
I was on next till to my actual baby girl ( youngest daughter, even tho nearly 40 we still refer to her as " the Baby " don't know what she was doing to the customers but one lovely gentleman threw in a huge amount of money, she kissed him on the cheek and they both burst into tears.
Restores your faith in the human race when people are so lovely.Hope that our lovely young lady will go on for many years, thank you for your thoughts.
My friend reckons after 2nd chemo hair comes out quickly, hope you prove her right. As mine didn't happen I just thought get rid. The soreness has gone and no more bits of hair in my eyes or soup lol.
How is your littl,e one today ? Really turfed out Princess Room and it is soooo tidy, must try not to let it get like that again. Little GD asked to see my head and thought it was lovely :-).
Going to put in a roast turkey dinner. Practising for xmas.
Hope you are all having a lazy Sunday.
Benny hop
Edi xing you are home and well soon.
-
Edi that is a wonderful thing raising money to send them to Disney World, I sure hope her dreams all come true...
So happy to hear you just got on with the buzzing, no more stray hairs in everything. I am sure you look absolutely beautiful.
Traii everyone has to make their own decisions about how the hair goes. Whatever works for you is right. I hope your tender scalp feels better soon.
I agree with Edi........Benny Hop, Hop! -
Edi-

Traii, glad wig sorted, synthetic one's don't have lace but you gotta make it comfy for you, do you have a wig cap to wear underneath ? It is like a large pop sock. I find it makes wig more comfy against scalp.hope mild SE's for you.

Web sister, Benny, oh Benny, carlads, Joanne. Hope u are all well!!!
We got this!!! -
Hi everybody on this Monday morning,
Websister, you look really cute in that wig! Love the colour too. Thanks for updating us about Benny, and so sorry to hear she's in hospital. Poor girl, I do hope things will turn around for her. It's been really rough for her.
Had a lovely weekend in Seattle, and our friend did well in the marathon. He is 55 years old, and started running just a few months ago. He is a true inpiration for us. The rest of the time we spent on 'retail therapy' at the outlet stores where I bought myself beautiful Nine West designer handbag for $25, a real deal. It is a nice size, and has a metallic colour that goes well with everything. I've wanted one like that for a long time, and I'm truly pleased. Will post more later - off to the gym now to work off those restaurant meals - LOL!
-
Liefie
Glad u had a nice trip!!! Retail therapy is great!! U go girl the gym!!! -
Bearcub, you asked about Tamoxifen. I started it on Aug.1, and the only SE that I really notice, is a few hot flushes every day. It does not interfere with my sleep, although I had really weird dreams for the first few weeks or so. I was so reluctant to take it, because after chemo who wouldn't be? But it is not bad at all. I take it in the evening just before I go to bed.
Dakota, I went to the gym, but I guess I was too worn out from the retail therapy, standing and walking around so much these last two days, that I just did not have the energy for the cardio this morning. Just did weights, and came home. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and tomorrow is another day. Hopefully I'll have more energy then. I have lots to do here at home, and won't be sitting much anyway. Enjoy your little boy as much as you can. They grow up way too soon!
About Taxotere and sun sensitivity - I once got really sunburnt in my face while on Taxotere within an amazingly short period of time. Nobody told me that this could happen, and I was so upset. I normally always wear a hat and sunscreen outside, but this happened in a matter of minutes. So take care in the sun. Fortunately it's winter here now, but you Australian girls should watch out.
Websister, I read your inspiring blog about a thankful attitude, and agree with absolutely everything you said. I experience it all the time. Glad your mom is settled in now. That place looks like a boutique hotel - really nice! My mom is in a similar place. Can't believe I'll be seeing her in a week. Time is running so fast, and I'm still struggling to finish the baking. The end is in sight though, and I will hopefully be able to make up those packages and mail them towards the end of the week.
Edi, Jenny and the others doing chemo this week - best wishes. KILL, KILL KILL KILL!!!!!! Good for you for shaving that hair. For me the painful scalp disappeared the moment I shaved the hair. Hope it is the same for you guys. Edi, your daughters sound like really wonderful people. What a nice gesture! They obviously have a wonderful mother.
Traii, your positive attitude and bubbly personality is encouraging to all of us here. You go girl!
Bevlee, welcome to this group. Support, love and encouragement is what you will find here, no matter what!
-
Dakota, went for bloods this afternoon, just before I left went to the loo and really uncomfy passing water. :-(. Made Doctors appointment for after hospital for bloods, he said may be an infection. That may stop chemo anyway.
Getting really depressed now and that isn't me at all. My son is coming from Manchester to take me to lunch and spend the day with me, I won't be happy if this messes it all up.
Never see him without his wife who we refer to as" the bride from hell " . Obviously not when she can hear us lol.
I was diagnosed in August and was almost crushed under all the flowers and cards from her ( not )Her Mum went through this a few years ago and I rang to see how she was every week ! She made a full recovery and I still ask how she is, more fool me.
Sorry to rabbit on, bit fed up, it is cold and dark with flood warnings throughout the country. Will have to send DH out to smash up his shed and build an ark.
Well done on wearing wig for work, I have done 12 hours in mine and you do get more used to it honestly.Getting those tufts clippered off to the scalp is lovely. makes everything more comfortable.
Going to have an early night as need it to be tomorrow as quickly as possible.
Liefie, lovely to have you back, sounds like you had a great time.
(( hugs )) to each and everyone of you.
Be in touch tomorrow, hopefully with the cat still in one piece lol x
-
Edi, sorry to hear about a possible infection, as if you need that right now! 'Bride from hell' - lol. At least you will have your son all to yourself tomorrow, and I hope all goes as planned for you. Flood warnings don't sound good - hopefully you are not in any danger?
Seattle was lovely. We even had some sunshine which is rare in those parts this time of the year. Stayed in a hotel built on stilts over the water, and it was so relaxing to sit by the big windows watching the water, the many seagulls, loons and other waterbirds swimming around, and seeing the ferries come and go. My only concern was a sudden storm surge or a tsunami - LOL. Okay, off to do some more baking. Have to get it done.
