Dakota, hope you did well today with the chemo. Traii, those aches in your thighs are from the Taxotere, and I hope they will go away so you can have some good days between treatments.

Websister, thanks for keeping us informed about Benny, and I hope you are doing okay too? Glad your mom is all sorted out, and that you are happy and satisfied with how things turned out. That peace of mind is important.

Edith, you'll be pleased to know that I did start the baking last night, and will continue tonight. Was busy today with ladies coffee group at church, gym, organ practise, and finally a dentist appointment to finish off the day. Tomorrow will be much calmer, and I hope to get a lot of stuff done. We are leaving home in two weeks' time for a month, so I want to get things organized before then. My house is always at its cleanest, neatest, and most spotless when I'm away on holiday!!!??? This weekend we are going to Seattle with a good friend who will be running a marathon there. We'll be his cheerleading squad - LOL!

HI WARRIOR SISTERS, ITS ME EDI !!!!

Have been besides myself as could not get on here at all since Tuesday. After being permanently logged in since August Tuesday evening page vanished. When I tried to log on couldn't remember my password. Clicked on the link to recover it and they said it would be sent to my e.mail. Lost count of the times I did this and NOTHING came through. Contacted Tech support and they couldn't do anything. Ashamed to say sobbed for an hour with frustration and missed you all soooo much. DH tried everything but to no avail :-(.

This evening my neighbour a genius with computers spent two hours trying too. Nothing happened. I have had to create a new account to enable me to log on.

I could read all your posts but not reply.

Dakota. Hope you are ok ? didn't realise you are same time as me and Traii.

Websister, many thanks in finding out about our Benny, such a relief.Glad your Mum all settled in.

Traii, hair horribly patchy today. DH took me out and bought me a second wig. I call it my fun wig. it is reddish with blonde streaks. Totally different than my usual look, shoulder length and feel really fantastic in this one. He says it's like having a strange woman in the house !

    How r u after second chemo ?

Liefie, glad u got started on the baking, well done. have a lovely time in Seattle.

Carlads Happy Thanksgiving to you and all our warrior sisters in America.Hope you have a lovely day.

New name scouser47, but feel free to call me that or Edi.

(((( HUGS )))) to you all.

Edi, I missed you, and wondered what had happened to you, but just glad we have you back with us! And with a new wig too - lucky woman. Your DH is a real darling to spoil you like that. I'm still running around organizing stuff and doing laundry at this late hour before I can leave tomorrow. It somehow seems it will be so much easier to just stay home, because I have so much to do next week, Oh well, I guess it will be nice to get away. Just hope the border crossing into the USA does not take hours. Sometimes they have long line-ups.

Carla, what did you cook for Thanksgiving?

Edi , cyber mummy I was worried, just thought you were having a off week with all thats been going on with you missing treatment....how are you feeling ? like a new women i see getting a new wig...well I haven't started wearing my wig so i'm thinking this weekend I'm going to get out and strut my new hair....lol...been getting away with this cute cap but its really doing my head in now (literally)...lol so I re-straightened my wig today and I'm liking the do...its so me but I'm reminissing about the earlier days where I wore a wig with Hodgkin's and I'm not liking it...but I know this too will all pass.

Well I'm feeling quite fine since my 2nd treatment on Wednesday, tongues funny, but not AS furry this time..lol I listened re the lemon drops...I iced my hands WITH GLOVES....I can't believe a lady whom was having Taxotere a few years back heard about all this icing etc and she bought them and told the nurses to keep them on the ward incase someone needed them as she no longer required them as they done the job for her...so now I get to use them.......:)

So as I was sitting there for treatment, I froze away but it was good...no pain this time on my nail beds...... now only if I tried those cooling caps...lols , don't honestly think I'd have the patience with them ... as soon as I put the gloves on it was like I had a itch on my nose, itch on my cheek, itch everywhere just when you know you shouldn't be getting your hands out...lols..so if i had the cap on my head god only knows I'd be scratching away.....

Day 24 and hair is there, but not if you know what i mean....I had a knot in it yesterday morning and i tried slowly combing it out with a large wide comb...yeh right, so instead yanked it out, the quicker this is over the better with the hair coming out I tell you.....I bought 2 cotton night caps and day caps,, hubby thinks I look like a sexy gypsy...lol...

Dakota, I didn't realise you were close to Edi and I also.....

Liefie, thanks for clarifying that i'm normal re those pains from Taxotere, this drug sure is a bitch....my hands are peeling so when people look at my hands I tell them dry skin too much water...lol they look at you like you're a freak.....lol

Have fun in Seattle......you cheerleader you...hope you're wearing your little ra ra skirt ready to shake and cheer :)

Well Im just a little tired but other than that, usual shopping etc......it's going to be really hot here down under tomorrow so I'm going to try staying indoors, my son wants to go to my auntys in the pool so may let him go there with mum while I just chillax and finish my Christmas cake that I'm making ..... lol

Hope you all had a great day at your Thanks Giving Celebrations.......

Take care sisters, enjoy the weekend SE free or VERY MINIMAL side effects :)

    Trail-

I am jealous it's warm there. Do these meds make us light sensitive. It's cooler here in MA, but not freezing. Only good thing about soon shaving my head. It won't be hot for me. Yes close to u girls 2 down 6 to go! Why does everyone comment on hair, when its going to be gone so soon. Did u girls shave it or just start wearing the wig. Still a baby in that area😞😞 😞hope u girls have minimal S/E, and u girls with cold I hope ur feel better. Edi I was I could give u WBC, mine were high 😞 have a great day warriors 😍😍😍

    Traii-

I did sleep some. Day two of the decadron so tomorrow will be better as far as sleep. Dr said day 3 is optional as its for nauseau and I have the compazine. My hair is coming out 10-15 stands at a time. I am trying to leaving as long as a can but its stressful combing it and blow drying it. So I might have to give in and shave it in a couple days. I am on day 14 post 2nd treatment and they did tell me 2-3 weeks!! Oh keep telling my self this too shall pass.

Hi Edi, great that we have you back. What is the news on the next chemo?...what day this week?

I have been reading and being quiet, I know you all are going through hair issues, the hardest part is where you are now, once you get tired of the blizzard happening you will eventually just go for the buzz. The funny thing is for most a huge relief and a non issue anymore. No worries girl, you can do this, you are warrior women.

Benny so sorry you are having such a tough time right now, I hope they are able to get you on the right meds so you can continue in comfort.

Traii my hair was at my waist in August. I washed and braided it and cut it to a bob myself, the same day right after I went to the hairdresser and had a pixie cut, 2 weeks pre chemo...then 16 days after my first chemo my DH had to buzz it. My hair is now growing back now that I am done chemo...lol I look like I have newborn with fuzz.

Dakota, I'm done with active treatment and just on Tamoxifen now. I like to come on here to encourage you girls still going through it to show you that there is life and normalcy again after treatment. While in the midst of it, one sometimes begins to doubt that . . . I'm going to South Africa where we immigrated from years ago. So excited to see my family, and have some summer, sand and sea time.

Traii, yes, Taxotere is no fun, but it's very effective. I've read on these forums how it had shrunk tumours from 6 or 8 cm to almost nothing, so hopefully it also kills every other rogue cancer cell it encounters. KILL, KILL KILL KILL!!!!! THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

Bearcub, agree with you about the hair. Buzz it, and get it over and done with. But I know all too well what a sickening feeling it is when you realize it's falling out, it's going, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it.

A good weekend to you all with minimal SE's!

@dakota212, yes, some chemo meds can make your skin more sensitive to sun--is that what you meant by light sensitive? Cytoxan is the only overlap between our chemo regimens. The info I was given about it does not include sun-sensitivity as a possible side effect, but one of my other meds does cause it, so possibly the  Adriamycin or Taxotere in your regimen also have that SE.

Hi Beautiful Warriors, Scouser Edi here again.

Liefie, no problems at the moment just one hectic day !! How lovely that you are through chemo. You give us all hope. :-) Have a safe and fun trip to Seattle, we want pics of the ra ra skirt lol. Say hello to Frasier and his lovely family. ( watch it every morning ) x

Traii, hiya cyber baby girl, Hope you still ok. Ice gloves sound wonderful, how nice that someone left them to be passed on. Ice hat not good idea and a bit late for us lol. Took off sleep hat this morning and scared myself to death looking in the mirror ! horrible little tufts all over, think I may go for that buzz off. Wore both of my wigs today, not both at once ha ha. Getting used to them, just love the longer one been told look 20 years younger ! that will do me fine.Going to ice my christmas cake next week, will be thinking of you doing the same in hot weather.x

Bearcub, had hair clippered really short but wish it had been shorter as driving me mad! Like Traii scalp so sensitive don't think could do it right now. Thrilled yours has started back. DH said he would buzz it for me the other day, had to decline as the clippers were last used on our little Yorkshire Terrier lol next chemo Tuesday next week x

Dakota, 2 down well jealous. Hope you still ok ?Loved your post about going past 2 drinks. I can't have any for six months, SOB. Now I drive everyone home from boozy do's. :-( . Think we all chunner about hair because we just need to know others in the same boat. It really isn't that bad just a flippin nuisance. x

Benny, beautiful girl, hope you well enough to post soon x

Happy Weekend to all of you. xxx

Edi I probably shouldn't have had 1,2,4 drinks but I had fun!!!so nice of u to Be the driver. Good luck in the counts anything more to boost them u can do??

Dakota, could you send your neice to me please. The clump look soooo un flattering. You enjoyed the drinks, that is all that matters. Can't wait for chemo's to be over , large scotch and diet coke , ice and a slice has my name on it ! lol.

Your chemo's over in february ? Be here before you know it. You me and Traii will have to see who can have a mop of curls first.

Nothing I can do to make blood improve :-(. They think less chemo amount. The next day I will have an injection of something to stop it happening next time, YAY.

Have you got a wig yet ? I LOVE mine, didn't expect to, but feel really normal again. Went into pub I usually work in tonight and caused a riot ! Everyone said when my hair comes back I must keep that colour and style. Reddish blonde with light blonde streaks. Shoulder length layered.  It is only synthetic one and everyone wanted to touch it and couldn't believe it wasn't real hair. It was only twenty five british pounds in our local market. Cheaper than a good hairdo, lol.

Liefie, agree that you are inspiring. X

Off to bed, too much excitement for one day, love to you all Edi.

OMG Edi you make me laugh.....you may have to get DH to clean those clippers...the scalp stops being sensitive after its buzzed, it really is a huge relief!....besides you have a beautiful wig......

Dakota yay your almost done. I was Dx a month before you but because I am Her2 + I have to do 17 rounds once every 3 weeks of Herceptin and won't be done until at least October, 2013. Oh well at least well on my way...I imagine the hair is buzzed by now. Not so bad right??....you are strong and you can do this....and can start regrowing by Feb. Hopefully hair by summer..

Liefie how has Tamoxifen been for you any SE, I start it on Dec. 5th. Have a wonderful vacation in South Africa. My parents lived in Tanzania in the late 80's early 90's for 9 years. When my ED was 13 she spent a summer with them over there. She has many happy memories........watch the water for sharks!!

Not too bad just a lot darker than I have been in a long time. 2/14/13 baby can't wait. My niece and I were already talking about the length I need to have extensions. My son just kept saying OMG mom it's the same length as mine!!! Your right regrowth by spring. I am sorry that ur in it until October. Less than a yr tho!! God bless !

Edi, sounds like you have that pub of yours going off with your new hair..whoo hoo hun....so proud of you and if you are getting all these compliments then it looks like you will need to keep that hair colour and length when you get your locks back :)

I am back to normal now, I put my wig on and the lady at the bakery was like did you get extensions they look 'hot' ... (well that's what i was going to go with if anyone asked) so my reply yep.... you like, shes like I love the cut, colour everything you look great and younger..( umm well I didn't want to look younger but I'm happy to look 21 again) .. lol

Didnt your onc prescribe that shot that boosts your WBC Edi ?? I get that 24 hours after chemo.

I'm feeling sooooo much better than the first cycle of Taxotere..... I'm handling much better. except for this hair no one would know..then again no one does with the wig :)

1 more taxotere 12th Dec (providing all goes well) then 3 x CMF's and I'll be done by end Feb.... 6th March all up as teh C part of CMF is oral...anyone else having or had this treatment ? Its an older one but can't have the E of the FEC as I've already had that before and I don't want to have complications with heart for gods sake!

Liefie, I love how you come here and give us hope and wise thoughts...KILL KILL KILL it is ..... Taxotere not pretty but so long as it's working I don't give a damn....side effects are side effects, just need to deal with them then they are gone...and we can all get back on with life like you :)

take care all....... sitting here with the air conditioner on watching Fireman Sam with my little munchkin while his daddy has been called out to work xx

    Morning gorgeous warriors.

Slept six hours and feel really refreshed and ready for the day. Need to gut the little front bedroom today as my smallest GD is staying overnight Thursday. YAY. She calls it her room and my DH decorated it with pink hearts everywhere. Even heart shaped lights around the mirror.

Traii, love the wig story ! Can u post pic of yourself ? Bet you look stunning. The fact you have gone through this twice and can still be sooo positive is a credit to your spirit. Last night I put mine on the top of the bannister to air while I cleaned teeth. Came out of the bathroom to find DH doing Mick Jagger impersonation in it ! I was told I look 20 years younger in mine ! and when I see my ED will ask her to put pic of mine on here. I am rubbish at all this computer stuff.

Getting shot 24 hrs after chemo this time will let you know if same as you had.

Dull and damp here but not too cold, hope your little one enjoys his day at the pool.Does he watch Postman Pat ? If so my car looks like his van with windows lol. It is a Suzuki wagon R and is small and square and they adore it.x

Dakota, well done with the buzz. Liberating I bet, No one will know it's a wig and honestly who cares ? The lovely girl who sold me mine had lovely hair but owns three wigs, she loves them and that is what we have to do as well.Hope any SE's are mild and you have a fun filled Saturday with your children x

Bearcub your new picture is lovely. Think I will go and get buzz at salon today if it makes the soreness better, thanks for information.x

Liefie, hope you got to Seattle safely. My friend off to South Africa in January to stay with her daughter for a few months. She is 85 and travels there once a year at the moment. Her daughter married a lovely man from there and her only grandchildren are there so off she goes.x

Benny hope things have improved ? x

    Websister, r u ok ?

    Carla, how r u getting on x

Edi i'm glad they are giving you the shot this time round..... I think thats why my counts were so high.

I can't get that song out of my head now, "got the moves like jagger"....lol your DH sounds like a gem.....with a great sense of humour which is what we all still need at this time.....laughter is the best medicine isn't it ! lol

I don't know how to post photos small...there's no way I"m going to put it up as big as those 'sayings' that I put up the other day...lol you'll all get a fright openening up the page...:)

How cute your GD is going to stay over at your house and your DH is doing up her bedroom..... has he brightened up your toilet yet, you did give him that extra week ..... LOL

Dakota, my son will be 3 on Christmas Day.....he is a hand full but I tell you what, I wouldn't have it any other way....he too is my saving grace just like your 2 kids are to you.......you're lucky your kids are at the age they understand, my son knows I have a 'sore' and mummy is having medicine and that my hair is falling out and I will look like a 'boy' like 'daddy' ... lol too cute and I love how innocent he is......(at times) lol

Yeh hubby just got home from a whole day / nights work...... my sons in bed with a fever today so Edi he didn't get to go in the pool today and was so sad but said maybe tomorrow...lols I don't think so...so we may go have early photos with santa as he has never wanted to sit with santa in the passed so while the he wants to do it I say lets go...lol

    Enjoy your day ladies :)

Dakota, have booked my buzz for this afternoon yay ! no more picking up tiny hair strands. Got my elf sleep hat and love the comfort it gives.Glam wig going straight on.x

Traii, DH is a nut case, we laugh a lot but always did thank goodness.GD's room is already beautiful just full of bits that need sorting and chucking. Little people are so straight and tell it how it is don't they ? When someone asked her what did she think of Nana having no hair she announced that when her other Nana lost hers she hid under the table because it gave her a shock. She was fine with mine as she said " I WAS only three then " now she is five it is cool lol.

So sorry your little Xmas present not well, hope he is better soon.

The bathroom gone on back boiler for now, if same SE's this time I will defo have to re design while in there.ha ha.

Don't worry about pic will try to find out how we shrink them to post from my ED.

Have a nice chilling out day with tiny one, and your hard working DH. x

    Good morning Warrior Sisters

I have Benny's permission to update you on her - she was feeling nauseated and flu-like yesterday and spiked a fever. She went to the hospital last evening and has been admitted. She seemed in pretty good spirits last text but not fun for her, especially with her dislike of needles.

I am doing OK, just busy still with moving my Mom to her new care facility.

Re: hair - I updated my avatar with a picture of myself in one of my wigs.

    Take care everyone.
