    Deb,

Good luck on the MRI tomorrow! Hoping for a very smooth test and uneventful day!

    Joyce,

Hoping that the biopsy results come back quickly and that we are soon celebrating the B9 results!!!!!

Bon Voyage, Michelle! I have never been to Hawaii (or California, for that matter) so look forward to hearing about your trip when you return!

Definitely all turkied out now.... yesterday I managed to have more veggies than turkey - I was still full up.

I think tonight I may do stuffed peppers.... at least it will be something other than turkey and the trimmings.

    Wishing all a good Tuesday.

Boy, did I pick the right time to check in!  WooHoo!  So glad to hear and share the good news Joyce!

Deborey, hope you get your good news soon too.  I'll see how my timing is with that and try checking in later today.

Made spaghetti squash for the first time last night.  I don't know, not my cup of tea I guess.  Surprisingly, DH and DD both thought it was good.  I am usually the one who always likes veggies.  I made it and tossed it with grape tomatoes and garlic that I roasted with basil and olive oil.  I liked the roasted tomatoes and garlic, just not the squash Undecided

    Joyce,

Not often we are happy to be called fat, but fat necrosis is SO much better than the other options. Congratulations! I hope that you find some special way to celebrate.

Joyce:  What good news!  I have one of those just to the side of my left breast.  I was very concerned when I first felt it, so I know it can be scary.

It got really cold up here in NC for the last two days...time to head back to Florida, but we'll stay at least until the end of October for the leaf change. We're going to try and reschedule our trip to Williamsburg that we had to cancel in mid September.  It should be a nice time of year for a trip like that...just the two of us enjoying ourselves and stopping when we feel like it.

I haven't had time to read and catch up, but hope all is well with everyone!

And positive thoughts for you Deb, as you have your MRI.

Kay, spaghetti squash is definitely one of those very bland things. I think you doctored it up really well....but sorry it didn't do it for you. A least it sounds like there weren't many leftovers. ;)

Had my MRI, won't know the results until next Tuesday when I go for my F/U with my BS.  This was just a precaution plus I was over due for a MRI.  I should be getting one once a year along with a mam.  My onc said I have dense breasts.

Dense in the head also, LOL.  I'm sure it is nothing.  I just HATE breast MRI's.

I must be grumpy these days since my husband offered to make dinner. He used to cook about 50% of the time, but now feels that my skills have outstripped his, and he has conceded the kitchen to my experiments. He is, in a word, a meat-whisperer. Tonight he made baked potatoes, steamed broccoli and grilled lamb chops. A good and delicious meal.

Since I didn't need to make dinner, I played with my new toy- a pressure cooker. Made some beef stock with neck bones. Also prepped a bit for tomorrow night's dinner which will be a Short Rib chili. Can't decide if I want to serve it on top of black beans or polenta, or homemade corn tortillas. I am soaking some beans just in case I decide I want beans. This is not a dish I make generally, so I am torn.

Deb- Don't know why it always takes some places so long to get tests. Hopefully they will call sooner. I hate MRI's too. Not only are they nerve wracking but LOUD!

Apple- I always get a giggle out of "Girl Child"

Carole- Good luck with the weight watchers. I too have been dieting I gain more weight in the winter so I thought i better be serious about it now.

Susan- Your dinner sounds wonderful. Love short ribs on anything, but polenta sounds good too.

Joyce, you must be so relieved. Great news, very, very happy for you!

I've been in Kansas city the past few days and have done no cooking whatsoever, nor have I eaten one piece of barbecue. What I did have was some garlic truffle fries that made me very happy. The casinos, not so much.

Apple  Yes I agree funny on the "girl child"  but I got a giggle out of "Mr. Apple"  If your last name is really Apple and mine is Berry then we came from the the same "fruity family" LOL

Auntienance  Gotta get some barbecue before you leave.. garlic truffle fries sound pretty tasty though.

Tonight no cooking again as we are going out to celebrate yet another friends birthday....lots of birthdays this time of year. Must go get a cake for the occasion.

Morning ladies!  Woke up to another beautiful day...leaves are finally starting to change here in NC, so we will get to see some really nice colors before we head back to Florida for the winter.

I was all prepared for my eye injection this morning and then got a call that they had screwed up the app't, so will now have to wait until afternoon...ugh!  I just wanted to get it over with.

Last night I made a turkey breast with cornbread and cranberry dressing, some mixed vegatables and a salad.  Enough left over for lunch today..yea!

Tonight I think I am going to make my asian lettuce wraps.

Tazzy, that's funny, we almost always crave Mexican food after the holidays as a break from the traditional fare.

We spent the weekend very near the US-Mexico border and there was a huge selection of Mexican restaurants to choose from.  Mexico is a huge country that goes from jungle to desert to high mountains and the food styles are equally wide. Lumping it into one name isn't really "fair".

And, like any place that has become a "crossroads" of cultures, the food is even more interesting.  In one taco, there were elements of what one would call Chinese, Italian, Mexican and German cooking......along with the influance of the Apache Indians' foods... :-)

Mining brought immigrants from all over the world, the native Indians were already here, Mexico is only a few miles away, rain is quite plentiful in the summer and by moving a few miles up or down a mountain, the proper climate can be found for growing just about any crop one can imagine, so it's easy to see why the food is such a blend.

Kara, I stil can't get used to the idea of a "stick in the eye"!

I'll have to try the "girl child" line on Chrissy and see how see she reacts!! :-)

I hope everyone is doing well!  It sounds as though a lot of you have been having fun with friends and getting out and about which is wonderful.  Camping this weekend was great.  They have a ton of activities for the kids the whole time we were there and there is no charge for them.  Two craft projects a day, pumpkin carving, hay rides etc.  The weather held out for us and it did not rain until late Sunday night.  It was a blast.  My youngest won second place in the costume contest for cutest!  He was very excited.  For food we had burgers and hot dogs Friday night and a lasagna Saturday night.  On Sunday when the Patriots were playing we brought steak and chicken fajitas to contribute to the "party".  Others brought pulled pork, sausage subs, ribs and chicken wings along with lots of appetizer foods.  We had the tv outside one camping area and could watch the kids run and play and ride bikes while we all socialized.  We can't wait until next year!

Tonight my father is bringing over pizza and wine and having us meet his girlfriend.  My brother and his GF will be coming over too.  It should be interesting.  Before that DS has soccer and they said they are still a go even though it is pouring rain.  Hopefully the kids still have fun even though they get wet.

Here are some pics of the boys costumes.
