Kam, think of it this way: not all republicans are dumbasses
He did vote for Dubya (mostly due to having a good opinion of Senior) the first time, but not the second. -
Yes...you can google his name. But be warned. If extrememly vulgar language offends you...don't...;)
-
Honestly, they are all "fools".............Rush, Hannity, all the "assholes" on Fox and special mention to Palin............She takes away all the wonder of "is she an idiot or what".......no need to wonder, she proves it everytime she opens her "pie hole"..................then there is Romney............aside from being a "wax figure", take notice to the way he walks.................he takes these little tiny steps, like a girl.................and smiles like the Cheshire Cat with his.............."glued down hair"...................anyone who votes for him deserves him...........can't believe the Republicans could not come up with another "idiot'............Can't blame Obama for the state of the "world"....................or our country...........look at the mess he was left with, and was expected to make better, when the "freaks" that had the chance for 8 years screwed everything up,,,,,,,,,and could not make it better before leaving it to the next "President"...................actually it is a shame a Republican didn't win 4 years ago..........what could McCain, and the "I can see Russia from my house"...........have done.................The real scary part for me was "if McCain wins, and dies in office, look who we are stuck with"...............that was enough to make anyone vote for Obama.............like him or not.....................remember................many didn't like "JFK" either................

Amen, Ducky!

Beyond the reelection of the president, we need people to bear in mind who would be the next Secretary of State (John Bolton, some say!) and the next two Supreme Court Justices. Hillary might retire anyway, I surely hope not, for she has the support of the free world with her firm but eloquent diplomacy. This country needs her, as much as we need Obama.
There is just so damn much at stake in this election.

(Obviously, the mods have changed the rules and are allowing political bashing of issues that have nothing to do with healthcare.)

LMBO reading these posts. Wow...Four years later, the BLAME game continues.
Your "leader" has done more harm than good, and you want to give him 4 more years? Wow. Your tolerance is hilarious. If your "leader" is re-elected he's REALLY going to be be left with a MESS. LMBO Who will he blame then?

Once again, we are not an easy discussion board to find unless someone really looks for us. Why would people go out of their way to track us down? I suspect that the complaints and deletions will start.
It's been said many times before-I'm not an atheist-I don't go to the atheist board. Nor do I go on there and tell them what they should talk about or how they should talk about it. I don't get angry that they are atheists. I just don't go there. It's not where I want to be.

A thousand times yes, Ducky! I particularly like the people who natter on about "the freedoms we have lost" but can't name one. Except, maybe, the freedom to die a pauper because you couldn't get health insurance or treatment without it. And the stock markt is back almost to where it was before the last administration drove the economy into a ditch, set it on fire and walked away, leaving their friends to applaud and make money off it. Hmmm... Stock market going up means investors are optimistic about the economy because businesses are making a profit. It took the last crew 8 years to bring the market to its knees -- and 4 for this one to bring it back to near all-time highs. Another 4 and we might actually be able to climb out of the deficit hole if we have a Congress that actually works instead of spends its time blocking the President. I will remember in November. I will remember that hundreds of thousands of people now have insurance who didn't before, and will not face lifetime caps on insurance payouts. I will remember that insurance companies now must spend 85% of their premiums on actual HEALTH CARE FOR THE INSURED rather than Lear jets and bonuses for their executives (and just what do they DO for those tens of millions of dollars every year -- look for ways to deny benefits to increase their bonuses?!). I will remember the millions in dollars insurance companies had to return to policy-holders this year in overpayments -- money that went to the people instead of the corporation. Oh yes, I will indeed remember that there are people who will be alive next year who might have died because they didn't have insurance. I have a very good memory.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm...NewsFLASH. This isn't a private/closed thread.

Invitation not necessary...not only is this thread NOT a private/closed thread, this site happens to a public one.

Hear Hear Happy Libby, YramAL, AnneW, Ducky!! Thanks for putting in words all the reasons Pres. Obama needs a SECOND TERM!

Is everyone having a good Sunday? The weather is beautiful here in Seattle.

I would love an answer to the million dollar question.

If your "leader" is re-elected who will he blame his mess on?
-
We are having a pleasant day here in the mid-Atlantic -- cool temps, rain coming later (we need it because everything is kinda crispy). Pleasant weather on tap for next week, too. I hope this early fall doesn't portend another snowmageddon!
L -
The weather is beautiful here in Illinois too!
-
I am sorry, but I have to ask what does LMBO mean?
-
Midwest weather is absolutely beautiful! Highs in the 70's, ahhhhhhh.
Just a reminder, please don't feed the peas.
-
Oh, and I don't like brussels sprouts, but broccoli crowns were on sale at Safeway for 99 cents a pound.

Silence is golden!
L -
Kay, I think it is Laughing My Butt Off. Real classy!
-
Brussel sprouts are good for you, but they stink up the whole house!
(Edited for typo.)
-
Yes, I would hate to see peas shut us down.
Personally, I like my peas sauteed with a little butter.
I also like my brussel sprouts roasted with a little olive oil and sea salt.
Mary

Ooh, my favorite is peas with pearl onions. I can eat a whole package by myself. And butter makes almost anything better.
Wasn't "Silence is Golden" by the Tremeloes? I have been watching a lot of oldies shows on PBS. I LOVE PBS!
L -
Tacky.
Roasted Brussels sprouts with balsamic sauce. Mmmm. -
Oops I meant to L...

I noticed the photo one of you posted of Rush with his quote about Romney. Here's one of my favorites (in all fairness): Bummer...tinypic is down. Will post it later!
With hope there are possibilities.

Oh, I am getting soooo hungry! Veggies rule!

There is a new Ken Burns documentary on the Dust Bowl coming soon on PBS. Ken Burns is the director of the "Civil War" that was on a couple of years ago. He is so young to be such a good director. Of course without PBS, Ken Burns would not have been able to get the audience exposure that he's had. Ken Burns loves brussels sprouts, too.
-
La la love Block User. As much as I love Brussels sprouts.
-
Shall we talk about the statement made by Santorum-"We will never have the elite, smart people on our side"?
I sure hope not.
Mary
-
Ooh, Notself, I will look for the new documentary on the Dust Bowl. I have always been interested in the Great Depression and FDR -- my mother, who was born in 1920, lived straight through the middle of it. I have an old photo of one of her pen pals at a CCC work camp.
Yes, PBS has given us the opportunity to learn many things that we might never have been exposed to on commercial TV. I'm very grateful for that opportunity, myself!
