Hi Friends!
Just wanted to give a shout out to Otter .. so great to see you. I've missed you!
Chickadee ... I'm sorry the scan sucked so bad. I'm hoping for great results next week.
Blue .. Love the 'shrooms.' I wish Ray would come down here and help with my garden.
It's already in the upper 80's today and I've mowed two fields already and walked the dogs. It's too damn hot to do anything else outside today.
Hope everyone has a great day.
hugs
Bren
PS .. I miss Sunflowers too.
-
Chickadee, so sorry for the, ugh, dig dig in the skin. Reminds me of my biopsy from hell.
-
Very interesting article, Blue. It also makes a crucial connection between universal healthcare and family values.
-
Thanks for posting, blue. I checked out that lady's blog as well. She is a very thougtful person and her blog was far more interesting than most.
-
Hi Blue! Missed you! Hi Bren, loved the pix on FB of you! Missed you too. Chickadee, sending hugs your way. Missing Sunflowers. Hey to Athena! Hi HL!! Missed you guys too. And Scoot, how you doing? And Jancie, it has been ages. Hope you are well.Rosemary, great 'seeing' you too. Lassie and Mary, long time! And for the many friends I missed, missed you all. Just have to energy anymore. The job sucks the life out of me. But I am taking ssupplements and they seem to help somewhat.
-
Barbara ... It's so good to see a note from you. I miss you! Hopefully, we will get to be roommates again next summer when we all return to Canada. I'd like to stay at a hotel this time that has room service though. I'm spoiled!
I've been busy getting the house and guest room ready for my mom. I pick her up tomorrow in Roanoke and have her for a week, then take her back up to my sis' house. Need to wash the windows yet and keep the laundry going.
hugs to all,
Bren

Hi Barbara! Good to see you again. I hope you are taking care of yourself. I'm sorry your job sucks so much life out of you.

Chickadee-I hope all goes well at your onc visit on Tuesday. I hate, hate, hate needle sticking issues. My onc's office is pretty good at it, I think because they do it all the time. They will stick the vein that I tell them is my good one, even though it's not a usual one(the inside of my forearm, right above the wrist) but everyone else wants to try the usual spots because they don't "hurt as much". I say one stick that hurts a bit is better than numerous sticks in a spot that isn't as sensitive.
Going to the Bite of Seattle today, where I'm sure I will eat only healthy food.

Thank you all for you hugs and wishes. Will report back Tues. good news. Bad news will wait.

Good afternoon, All,
Glad to back at the BCO Bar & Grill, but sad that Sun isn't here. I'm hoping the ban is lifeted soon and that she will come back to join us.
Had a great vacation, topped off my getting together with Bren, Pammy andBrenda. Lots of laughs, good food and drink!
Blue that article is great and I wish every right wing conservative would read it, but I'm afraid it would be dismissed as brain washinh left leaning propoganda. It is a sad statement about feelings and knowledge of US lack of healthcare. Better stop before I'm banned. Talk to you later.
-
Good to see you here Barb. I hope your energy returns.
-
I'm just diving in here hoping that someone can answer my question.
I used to have 'favorite people' in the old format. What happened to them in this one and how do I get my favorite people back unto a list?
I still HATE this new format. Moderators....help! Fix it?
-
artsee, go to Dashboard in the blue menu, and you'll find all your fave people, recent posts and fave threads there.
-
Blue, I loved the article you linked to. The Canadian system seems a little better than ours in Australia, but ours is better than the UK according to those recently arrived here. I hope your health system works out as it's distressing to read about BCO members struggling with insurance companies, paperwork, medical debts, which district they can use clinics and which aren't covered, employment issues and all the other points brought up in the article.
-
Barbara, I do wish you would post more. I miss you to.
Loving thesr cloudy days. -
Bluester, Bluester, Bluester.........now see...........there is a whole new litter of cubs here and they are really going to think I tried to kill your pooch.........no one EVER SAID cooked marrow or bones..........I said RAW marrow or bones........
Just a quick note to the Chaplain..........do you know why I absolutely LOVE the pic of you, Bren, Brenda, and Pam?......but especially you?.........because you are barefoot in the pic......
.......the prodigal daughter had return home.........you looked great and so happy......I guess what they say is true.........you can take the woman out of North Carolina but you can never take North Carolina out of the woman........I hope you got to see your Mom and get some decent food instead of all that fancy schmancy Chicago fare..........all that food they stack on top of each other until it looks like the leaning tower of Pisa........(except for Rick Bayless of course).....(chuckling to myself).......Bren congrats on the weight loss......you look great.....why do I have a feeling that you orchestrated that whole trip to see Brenda?.......what a wonder thing to do..........and thanks for the pics........
and I am going to make one comment about Moonflower..........I do understand why Moonflower was caught off guard when the paw swipe from the Mods......because you guys had been talking in fake code for weeks to pi$$ off the Alties because you are mighty passive aggressive little cubs and that was ya'lls indentation.....and I am sure the Alties had probably been complaining to the Mods for weeks..........and probably for a while the Mods said if you don't like what they are saying don't go there but we all know the Alties probably check this thread before they even check their own..........
I think two mistakes were made.....first the Mods should have been more consistent and either let you guys talk in fake code or they should have stopped it weeks ago..........
Second of all Moonflower should have never posted her PM"s from the Mods on this thread........she should have rounded up the yes/no posse privately and you guys plead her case from behind close den doors........because I think ya'll actually had a good case........like every thing in life we really only need to know the rules and they should be applied as consistently as possible.........
And I do think Moonflower has had her pedals bruised......not sure she will come back but I really do hope you guys can encourage her to do so........she really does seem to enjoy that painting thread.........and she paints quite well........
ok cubs I now have to go and get the scent of Liberalism off of me.........my friends can always tell when I have stopped by the den and if I don't clean up they try to remark me by their Conservative spray......(again chuckling to myself).........later cubs

Well now that we have been poked and stirred ... what is everybody up to this morning?
Just on my second cup of coffee here. Plans for the day are whatever I decide to do whenever I decide to get going. My kind of day!
Glad to see Barbara and artsee checking in. All fingers and toes crossed for good news for you on Tuesday Chickadee.
-
Finished my second cup too. Waiting for grandson, : ), then, off to the yarn store to get some help on a mistake I made. Sigh.
-
Gosh - are we all living the same life?! I too am on my second cup of coffee and am awaiting a visit of two grandchildren. Today we may need to play in the back yard with the pool (small plastic one) and the tent. I suspect the children will be happy to help me water the poor drooping plants.
-
LOL ...

-
OMG, so funny! Thanks for the morning laugh WR!
-
Hi Gals,
Just finished my second ... or was it third ... cup of coffee. Need to get dressed and walk the dogs before the heat does me in.
Shokk .. Always lovely to see you. Thanks for saying such nice things about me.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Bren
-
I think my daughter has decided Sundays are mom's day out. Not complaining though.
-
So nice that Shokk could stir the pot - wonder why the mods don't take HER down?
Blue - isn't it our understanding that bones and bone marrow whether cooked or not are BAD for dogs - that's my understanding and all the vets I've had over the last 20 odd years.
-
Sandy-be careful.......
Don't you know you're supposed to use "cute" synonyms for people's names instead of their real ones....oh, say, like stupefacation or stupor???
Mary
-
Having my third cup of coffee but I can't get moving. I must be coming down with something - achey and all that.
I blocked Shokk a long time ago so I don't see her words, but judging by reactions I'd guess she's up to her old tricks. How nice of her to come stir the pot and keep us alert and interested. I just wish her words were worth my time.
I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Scoot

I just realized we had an otter sighting Friday ... waving a late hello! Hope that things in real life get easier and better for you soon. Stop by when you can and we'll manage to scrounge up an abalone for you from somewhere until Sunflowers gets back on duty.
I think some stuff is supposed to be a comedy act or something ... whatever.
Scoot ... maybe the achy is from that horseshoe branding you got? Maybe they are trying to mark you as their crazy horse lady?
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they run over me while I'm sleeping!
-
Scoot ... Sure hope you're not coming down with something. That trampling you got may have messed you up. Does it still hurt?
Rabbit ... Loved the pic you posted on the previous page. I'm greatly entertained by my dogs too!
Need to call the dentist in the morning, as that stupid bone is still sticking up out of my lower gum. It hurts like a bitch. If the dentist tells me to wait and watch again ... I'm going to call another dentist for a second opinion. I just don't think bones are supposed to be sticking out like that. duh.
Guess I better get back to work ... thankfully, I had a couple of reports come in today.
Hope you're all enjoying your Sunday.
hugs,
Bren
-
Bren -- The only bones that are supposed to be sticking out in your mouth are called TEETH! Tell your dentist to take a refresher course
. -
Morning all - or afternoon, actually. Been away from the computer a good bit. Just got back from a ride to a little town called New Hope that way crowded with cute unusual shops, where my DH and I ate an overpriced and overcooked lunch.
