The pool pump is finally installed!!! Got to wait a while while the glue on the pipes dries, but it is SO quiet compared to the old one. It's a 3 speed so we can save heaps in electricity costs and I get a bonus $250 from the electricity provider for buying an energy efficient pump. The pool guy was sweet and dumped a lot of chlorine in the pool for me seeing it's been out of commission for 3 weeks.

I'm avoiding the start of the packing - wish we could just stay home - funny I still feel that way - home is safe. At least I've got all weekend to pack - I am clever in waiting until Monday to go.

SusieQ, I don't travel, but a friend who does alot, ROLLS all her clothes, amazing, I've watched her pack & unpack and everything fits and comes our perfectly, no crinkles...

Happy visiting new grandbaby...yummy smells, lots of cuddles, and pictures!

Sunflowers ... I roll all my clothes when I pack.  It's great for preventing wrinkles!

Sun -- Is this your first time planting zucchini?  If so, you should know that you don't actually need more than TWO plants, which will give you more zucchini than you AND your neighbours can consume!  My suggestion is to start the plants indoors, and then transplant, using a chipmunk-proof covering -- say, a big, wide-mouth glass jar.  Once the leaves and stems develop, the chippies won't like the feel of them in their mouths.  (Written with fingers crossed, of course!).

We have lots of squirrels and chipmunks around here, and I believe a little "inter-breeding" took place in early spring, because one little animal is most decidedly a combo.  Would that be a squimunk or a chiprel?

We've been eating lettuce, arugula and green onions from the garden for a month or so, and fresh strawberries too.  And, I'll be picking fresh tomatoes from a potted tomato plant this weekend. 

Susie, I tried the rolled-up clothes thingy.  Hmmmm, must have done it wrong!  Anyhow, have a lovely visit with the new baby.

Rolling clothes is a great space saver, although some garments are more amenable to it than others.

Rolling does work according to my daughter, but they have to be ironed in the first place - I only iron clothes the day I'm to wear it, so rolling won't help if they are already wrinkled I do usually iron before we travel, but if you saw the pile, you'd skip it too. I've decided just to iron the pants.

I'm heartbroken - I hate taking Poppy to the vet when we go away. I miss her already but I do have a big scratch on my chest to remember her. Unfortunately she saw the cage before I could grab her, so we had a bit of a chase behind beds and under furniture before I could catch her.

I'm all ready. Steve having breakfast. Cab due in half an hour. Woke up feeling sick in the stomach. I had a glass of milk and a somac tab. I get so nervous when we go away - hoping everything will go according to plan.

D-head SIL is already causing trouble and we aren't even there yet. He wants to crash my lunch at the winery with ChrissyB - lots of swear words coming from both of us.

All of BCO seems quieter than usual, not just this thread - or am I wrong? The "Active Topics" don't seem to register postings with as much frequency.

I don't post as much as before either.  I think Marple is right ... something is 'off' and I can't put my finger on it.

Maybe it's the new format.  I'm just not 'feeling it' like I used to.

I was a happy camper for two days ... I had a ton of work come in.

I don't care for the new format -- especially the wasted space on the left. I have gotten out of the habit of coming here because I find the format unpleasant to navigate, especially on my iPad. I have to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll ....and scroll and scroll to get to the bottom of the page. I disliked the new format so much that I just didn't come anymore. And with fewer people posting fewer posts in the threads I frequent, I come here even less frequently. (To be fair, I didn't post a tremendous amount anyway after I came back, out of an abundance of caution and stalker-avoidance.) But I do come here far less frequently.

At "peak" times, there would be about five of six postings within the span of one minute ago.  Now.....
