(((((((BLUE)))))))))))) is back. So happy to know you are recovering from what sounds like a HIDEOUS time...can't remember if your daughter's wedding was?
Anyhow - just REST, relax, snuggle Virgil ( and Ray) and BE WELL.....be well, be well.....hope all your days are Sunny ones.
-
Hey, it's BLUE!!! Good to see you! And, good to hear you're starting to feel human again.

I am flabbergasted - my brother lost his job a week or so ago - however, his prospects look quite good. His wife has posted on FB that she's missing breakfast at a local diner. When my mother was there a year or so ago my SIL did go out and buy breakfast, but I thought maybe that was because she was visiting - special occasion or something. Doesn't look like it. I feel so tempted to post something like - 'eggs are easy to boil' - but I have resisted the temptation. They have lived so high on the hog for so long a bit of economy wouldn't hurt.
ETA - I had boiled eggs for breakfast, so I do know how easy it is

-
Blue, welcome back!!
-
Blue - glad to see you back - you've been missed.
Scoot - so now you'll be all ready for the new horse - yikes!
-
How are we? Much better now that our fearless leader is back. Oh frabjous day! Callooh, callay!
Speaking of eats, we made a veggie pizza Friday that couldn't be easier. The crust is a large tube of croissants that you lay out flat in a 13 x 9 lipped pan (bar pan, jelly roll pan) and bake. Allow to cool. Mix 8 oz cream cheese in 4-8 oz (your preference) sour cream. Season to taste. We like some dill and cracked black pepper. "Frost" your crust with this mixture. Finely chop up whatever veggies float your boat. We did a couple Roma tomatoes, a few celery sticks and broccoli florets. Spread the veggies on the cheese mixture and top with 8 oz of the shredded cheeses of your choice (we used a mix of 3 cheeses advertised for tacos). Chop it up and started handing out slices. My nephew likes to put some taco seasoning or hot sauce on top, but I think it's fine as is.

Blue! So happy to see you back!

Glad to be back! Let's see how long it takes me to get into trouble. Been rummaging around the site and all I can say is yikes.....some things just never change.
-
I'm glad to see Jim flirting with us again!
-
Yeah, Blue. Champagne on the house. Our Fearless Leader is back. Party on!!!!
-
Hi Blue, sorry you had such a bad time with those pills. My grandpa declined it when he developed parkinson's, because, as he said, "he was afraid of seeing little green men," afraid of hallucinations in other words.
-
Yay! It's Blue!!! Welcome back!
-
Yay! Great to see ya Blue!
So I went to the drug store yesterday to pick up the new meds my Onc. has decided to try. They were ordered by him on Thursday. When I get there they tell me it's a special order drug, and do I really want it. So of course I said yes. Well they will order it Tuesday because of the holiday, and it wouln't be in till Friday. What I don't understand is why they didn't order it on Thursday when the Dr. faxed the prescription to them, and why they would wonder if I really want the stuff. Now it sort of has me wondering what I am taking in place of the Femara.
-
((Blue)) Great to see you!!
Scoot, sorry to hear you have a fractured pelvis. Can't imagine how much that would hurt. Ouch! Glad you are on the mend!
-
((((Barbara)))) Nice to see you too - how is everything?
-
Blue .. I'm so happy to see you posting again! Sure did miss you.
We've been busy in the yard ... I'm so hot ... someone remind me why I needed five acres to take care of.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday,
Bren

This Sunday is sucking so far. I went to bed last night with a sore throat and that awful taste in my mouth. Today my throat feels worse.
Gargled with salt water - heading to bed.
Hope ya'll have a great day!
-
Had a garage sale yesterday - it was WONDERFUL weather!!! Lot's of people, got rid of lots of STUFF!!!

-
janice so sorry you're feeling bad. Hope you get over it fast.
Binva, I so envy you would love 5 acres!
So we have decided we are going to build an arbor in the back yard! I'm thinking having climbing flowers and the bird bath in the middle of it would look lovely. My poor DH has been so patient with all my whims on the yard this year!
-
Glad to hear you are back, Blue...
-
This weather has me seated under a large acacia tree until further notice....IF I go to my club today it will have to be after 7 pm.
Been organizing my computer "Libraries" and deleting old files. In the spectrum of hoarder to "thrower away of everything" I am about average. I never throw away personal correspondence but I cull my clothes closet regularly.
I think I finally decided what I think about the new BCO format from an emotional point of view. It's pleasant, but dull.
-
Kira - what drug is it? My pharmacy special orders my Aromasin. I must be the only one in the area taking it. I've got them trained to order one when they dispense the one in stock.
Blue - while you were gone, I got into a bit of trouble - naughty Susie
Went and bought a new colour printer yesterday, my old one was useless. I couldn't believe how cheap they are and got a fab Epson that prints photos. Printed some of the new baby and Alexander to send to my mother and Aunt - absolutely incredible quality!!! Now I'll probably go broke buying ink all the time. It scans and copies too, so I can copy Annie's baby photos to take to her, so we can see if there's any resemblance.
We are having classic Sunshine State winter weather - chilly nights, followed by glorious days.
Got to call the pool shop today to come and get the pump and assess it. I hope the insurance claim is settled quickly.
Sue
-
Athena - a note on the new layout - looks strangely like my online banking site - lots of wide open spaces - definitely done for mobile devices.
-
Sue, I think it is Aromasin. Why are so few people on it? I know the Femara was always in stock.
Speaking of printers and the like, I need to buy a new computer like asap. This one is 12 years old, and freezing up constantly now. Does anyone have suggestions on what I might want to buy. I will need everything to go with it. I know what my son feels I should buy, but he seems to think we are made of money.
-
Yes, Susie, it's all for mobiles. Speaking of....I am not crazy about smartphones either (I know I am probably alone in this). They do a bit of everything, but not one single thing very well. Just like those printer/faxers/scanners/copiers....or some of the weaponry the US military is trying to get rid of - there is one tank that is supposed to be good for sea and land, but it is so useless in each medium they finally decided to scrap it.
If I had handheld devices to "do" again (and I will once my two year contracts are up) I would buy:
--A simple ergonomically comfortable NON-smartphone with real keypads that you open and shut so that you don't accidentally call the word from the comfort of your pocket
--A tablet for the Internet
So, with disliking smartphones, suburbs and Facebook I am sure I have offended everyone in the "easily offended" group.
I feel like starting a new thread where people can feel free to mention POPULAR THINGS THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO LOVE AND ACTUALLY DISLIKE. I would add SUVs in cities (except for people who really do drive on rugged terrain, which is 1 percent, I'm sure) and beer. :-)Things I love that most hate: lions!
Anyone else have a list of things that you are supposed to love or it is fashionable to like, or "everybody likes" - but you don't?
-
Kira, are you looking for a desktop or laptop? We are also in dire need of a new puter so I'll be looking for opinions here too.
Blue, I think I can join Susie in the naugthy corner. I can't even remember my faux pas now but I had one. Not my most shining moment I'm sure.
This new layout makes me feel less connected with BCO. But I'm old and never did 'change' very well.
-
Athena, I missed your post while I was taking too long to type. I don't know what a smartphone is. LMBO, I guess I must need one? NOT!
-
oh gosh Athena. Here I am loving my smart phone and driving a sort of SUV. Actually the car is only 4 cylinders and not much more on gas than the last little car I had. It is particularly useful because my back is not so great, Femara has made other parts of me crickety as well and the height of the Saturn Vue is just right to get in and out without having to hurt myself. And I got a new radio for it so that the smart phone can connect to play all the tunes I haves put on it that are my favourites.
-
marple which ever is cheaper works for me. I have a laptop for work which I can bring home but I feel uneasy about using it for personal use. Being a teacher I really want my personal life to stay just that personal.
-
Welcome home, Blue! This place just isn't the same without Jim's sexy pout and your dry wit! Glad to see both are back where they belong!
My phone is pretty dumb ... No camera, no internet, just can receive and dial calls. I don't want a phone to entertain me ... I can do that on my own. I expect I'll give in eventually, though. Love my desktop, love the convenience of my iPad (since DH often monopolizes the desktop to view sailboat porn ....).
Does our big diesel pickup count as an SUV? We pull a boat, so we need one. My little yellow Sunny FJ is a mini-SUV, or what some call a sport-cute rather than a sport-ute. It is my mid-life crisis car.
Happy weekend, all!
