AMERICAN IDOL....Season 11

Karen333: Last night I was reading this thread and you remark about Joshua's screaming! I thought I was the only one! I keep telling people I think my ears are broken! What are they hearing? I don't get it with him. He is screaming most of the time? AI has become increasingly more about personality and who the judges want as opposed to the populace.
-
Good Night All ♥
-
Dear lizziemack, I think that the judges are so infuencing the direction of the competition between screaming Joshua and no personality Jessica. When they give Joshua a standing ovation twice yesterday for that shrieking, I can't imagine standing unless it was to run away from the noise. I swear if it comes down to Joshua and Jessica, that's when my TV goes off. I hated to see Skylar go, but she did by slaying them with her last song and with a lot of class. No tears for that little trooper, we'll see an album comimg out from her, I so enjoyed her spirit.
-
(((Karen)))
I loved your comment about RUN AWAY FROM THE NOISE
-
Lizzy... Been a weird year.... The screaming.. the judges' standing O after each performance.... and, in MY opinion, the endless pushing of the performers that THEY want has made this year feel like an exercise in futility for both the contestants and the voters.... Just not sure what to make of this season....
-
-
Teka...I know exactly how you feel?
-
Lol Karen!! I think we were posting at the same time but, you said it way better than I did!!
It was a pleasure Ladies!!! See you all next week! -
Sheila, I love your emoticoms, they are just hysterical. Seaside, you are so right about the judges running this year's competition, times like this season, I miss Simon Cowell!!!!
-
Im 1/2 watching this season. I liked Elise and still just watching Phillip. All the other ones would be gone if Simon Cowell were still on the show. I think they are all mediocre at best..... I never hear any negative or critical comments......these guys just get tongue baths every night - they have no idea that they are screetching or just gawd awful.
miss the ol days......
-
Shayne...Did you watch X Factor with Simon last year?
-
Karen,
I KNOW! Never thought I would see the day but, I DO miss Simon! He may not have been the warmest judge but I do feel that he was honest and thought it kinder to let you know sooner rather than later, if you just didn't have it.... -
Seaside, he would have put half of the top ten down with the comment, lounge singer or karioke(sp?) He was always honest in what he said and though he didn't sugar coat it, he was most often right.
-
Skylar....touchy photo......
-
Ya know, in most situations, it's your first impression that makes the most difference.
On AI, it seems like it's your LAST impression that counts....you're only as good as your last song.
As talented as Skylar is, her three songs (two solos and a duet) last night weren't her best.
But yay for her. Now she can sign with a good record company, and get out there and do her thing without being under the thumb of the AI machine.
And really, so what if the screamer wins AI? He or she (!!!) could just fade into oblivion like soooo many other "Idols". If they don't have the talent or the draw, their careers will go nowhere.
-
Well, I didn't watch, but Skkylar was one who I loved to watch and who didn't make me nervous. I love Phil being Phil....but he needs a wow-song to stay in this.
Someone told me that the judges said these were the five best finalists they've had....WHAT???
No one has yet to stand out or have a defining moment. Yes, some good songs; but I can remember songs from years ago but nothing from this season.
I agree that Simon would just cut through all this sugar coated encouragement that is being handed out. If the judges don't raise the bar, then nobody grows.
Nite all... -
Shayne, Karen, Seaside.....I was just about to come on here and post Where's Simon Cowell when you need him? But I see you all beat me to it - GMTA! Joshua is a goos singer, and he for sure is a throwback to the late 50s/early 60s style which I love......but he's kind of a one trick pony. He does scream way too much,,,enough already. He's not one of the best singers to come along in 50 years Ms Lopez. Not by far. But he's very good. Jessica is phenomenal with the control she has at age 16...they're dead on about that. But she's also not the be all end all - nonre are. Hollie, who I thought would be gone 6 weeks ago, is the one continually growing and that's what the show is about. But i the end I sitll want PP!

They need an Idol who can sell recordings.
In my opinion Skyler was way too nasal. She might as well have held her nose. She also was throwing her accent out there too strongly. Perhaps thinking she would appeal to the country crowd. Once she is out of AI and working with sound enngineers and such I am sure she will sound better. Her energy was really good. At the point Skyler went out, sixth, she will open the second half of the AI concert tour. That is good.
Jessica as little hooker girl,. Lord save us all!
I do not think this is the best AI season ever, ever, ever!!!!!!!!!! Seeerioussslllyyy! Get real!
Simon, come back, come back, buy the show. Save the Show!

This Week's 'American Idol' Theme: California Dreaming; 'Song I Wish I Wrote'
This Wednesday night, American Idol's last four standing will be "California Dreaming" as they take on chart-topping songs by bands or singers from the Golden State. Also on deck for next week's theme: tunes they wished they had written
-
Last night of "The Voice".
-
Hate to say it but I think the top four on the Voice are much better than the toP four on AI.
-
Agree completely!!
-
Yes, "THE Voice" is better.
-
I'm so glad some of you are watching the Voice.....I love the show.....
I voted for Juliette
-
Juliette is awesome! But I like them all and I don't think I would be disappointed with any one of them winning.
-
I will cont to watch AI but won't be voting as I don't care who wins now. My favs are gone... Colton, Elise and Skylar. The others are just ok for me.
-
I only voted twice, on-line, this year. Just am not into it.
-
mimi, I have the feeling that only the contestants who the judges want are going to be left standing, Joshua and Jessica. What an unfortunate season for AI
-
PP is cute and very lovable and i really like him as a person but.....
His voice
Can he really be an AI Winner
Joshua...pleasant and good voice but does he have to scream all the time????????
Jessica.....Powerful voice...nothing else no stage presence or maturity....
Hollie....Very sweet...shy....also beautiful voice.....Can she be the next AI???????
So I guess I don't care who wins...Sorry
Hi...Karen and Gingerbrew
-
Hi Sheila and Gingerbrew, see you in a bit. I wish Colton and Sylar were still around, disappointing season!!! Hi mimi.
