Roadrunner checking in:
3 pts for Friday check-in
7 pts for water
0 pts for weight - I was down on Wednesday, but I've been a slug, sick on the couch
1 pt for exercise
11 pts total - pretty grim. But I'm cutting myself some slack for being sick. Last week I worked 6 days over 50 hours and was just beat. Also had hurt my back so was on steroids. Between the two, my immune system took a hit and I got sick. Just finished the huge pot of "chicken soup for what ails you" that I cook when I'm sick. Keeps me hydrated, feels good on the throat, loosens the sinuses, lots of vitamins. So do I make another pot? or find something else? Just want to nap.
-
Elaine, I vote for another pot of soup! It's soothing and makes your house smell good.
Ainm, best wishes for the next surgery. Is it soon? Sending good thoughts and prayers.
zogo, we have been going back & forth, haven't we? How funny! As of this morning, you're down 12.4 from your starting weight and I'm down 13.5 but I started a little higher so we're pretty close right now. Like you I would LOVE to see the 60's. But for now I'm working on not being back in the 80's.
Have a wonderful weekend, ladies. Nice here tomorrow! I have daffodils coming up!

Checking in a day late!
Checking in - 1 point
Water - 7 points
Weight - gained, didn't get on the scale but pants are tighter.
Exercise - 1 point
9 points total. Going to get serious. I've been watching the Michigan State - Wisconsin Game on tv and running up and down stairs on commercial (sorry Badger, I think we might beat you today.)
Keep it up gals! For us northern sisters, we're almost to the warm outdoor time of year, I exercise a lot more in the warmth.
Uh oh Badger, I may have spoken way too soon!
-
Well, late again. Not a great week overall for activity. No change in weight - at least not going the wrong direction! Weather is beginninng to turn nice, but we are on the last 7 weeks of classes, and it is more of a marathon than a sprint at this time. I am going back to physical therapy this week to try to get better pain control and develop an overall plan for regaining strength & endurance so I can enjoy activities again. I am pretty optimistic - have a GREAT PT. So not counting points today, but will try to remember to check in next week, and hope to have something more positive to report!
Have a great week, Ladies!
-
Badger - I got a provisional date of 27th June.
Today is my 49th birthday!!
-
Happy Birthday, Ainm!!!
-
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Ainm, happy birthday to you!
I hope it is the best year ever!
-
Ainm, hope you had a fabulous birthday!
-
A belated happy birthday, Ainm. I'm right behind you. '63 was a very good year!
-
Happy Belated Birthday Ainm. Hope you had a terrific day!
-
Good grief - '63 I was already in high school! You all are babies.
-
matter of fact - 63 is my age now.
-
Patoo, you look so terrific - I would have guessed you were much younger than me (I was 3 in 1963)!
My first two days of the week - so far so good. Lean Cuisine for lunch and small portions for dinner, drinking herb tea and water! No wine for dinner last night! (That's the hard part).
-
Wow! I'd say you look good! I thought you were my age and in 1963 for momst of the year at least I was only 2!!!
-
Patoo, you picture makes you look 30 years younger. You are a lucky woman!
-
You all are funny. I haven't been able to do much exercise the last few days so right now I'm feeling every bit of my 63 years! Thanks for your compliments.
-
Agreed. Patoo, not only do you look younger than your age, you have a "young" spirit and attitude towards life. I love being able to know you through this thread! You are a blessing, my friend.

Checking in with the Flock:
Maintaining from prior week = 1 point
Exercising = 6 points!
Making the Friday Check-in = 3 points
Water intake = 5 points (you would think this would be easy!)
"Extra Credit" points = 2 - had fitness evaluation done - found I am "average" for flexibility, lower body strength, walking; lowest percentile for upper body. I never did have great upper body strength, and surgery set me back even further, so I have a baseline and some goals! Also got the "Cancer Kitchen Cookbook" by Rebecca Katz, and made the red velvet lentils that was AWESOME! And I have a shoppiing list to prepare other foods that are more highly spiced with good herbs & spices, anti-oxidant foods, etc. So am claiming 2 points this week.
Total: 17 (I think that is an improvement)
Meece, it looks like it's just the 2 of us holding up this team, I am going to have a little chat with a couple of ladies that tend to hang out around the bonfire and a couple other places.... we need them back on the team!
