I call my family doctor Dr. Phil when I am not angry at him. His name really is Phil.

The dread scanxiety is rearing its ugly head. Tomorrow I go back to the surgeon about my colonoscopy. I never want to go back to the surgeon for anything. My polyps were not the good kind. They still could be b9 but...

I see the doctor at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon and it is a half an hour drive home so if you pop in my bag bring snacks.

I have opted for red wine over xanax after all red wine is a natural AI!

rosemary-even if your polyps are not the "good" kind, they're still gone. Mine were the kind that can turn into cancer if left untreated, but they are gone. I think I remember reading somewhere that colon cancer is the only kind of cancer that can be cured by the test used to find it.

I will be in your bag tomorrow.

I know colon cancer is much easier to live with than bc. If you're 5 years out with no recurrance you're done. I just wish the stupid bc didn't have me thinking cancer whenever anything is abnormal. It truly is the gift that keeps on giving.

rosemary ... (((hugs))) I'll be in that purse tomorrow too ... I can bring peanut butter cookies.

I think of my family doctor as 'dude' ... he just does not look or act like the normal stuffy image of a doctor :)

Snow flurries here today and I guess they had crashes all over the place.  Guess they didn't expect it and failed to treat the roads.  Or else they are saving all the salt in case it snows during the Super Bowl.  Glad I didn't have to go out today.

    Hi Girls!! We're back!!

Rosemary - sorry to hear about your polyps - I'm home just in time to come with you in the bag :)

Unpacking done, washing nearly done, cat picked up, lunch done. It's great to be home SIL drove us crazy while we were away - no more fights though. We just went out to get away from him :) 6 more days to go, at least I'll be back at work on Thursday.

We've figured out that his personality has never properly developed due to his upbringing. I am disappointed that my daughter has made such a poor choice but what can you do.

Will catch up on all the posts later - got to hang washing and go get food.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

    Sue

Yes it will, rosemary. I didn't mean to belittle your anxiety-I was just trying to offer a little reassurance.

Susie-glad to see you are back! And not charged with the murder of your SIL!

I'm so bored I'm yawning already.  Someone wake me up when the food is on ... Rosemary's colonoscopy will be so boring that we will have to play Scrabble to pass the time!  I'll bring the caffeine to keep us awake!

More votes for BORING - Villous adenomas  are the ones that can become cancer.

Always good to get rid of them early - BORING then...very boring...

PCP - well, maybe my friends use a different term?  I still call them docs.

Happy New Year to all! We celebrated at a family centric party which means we cheered in the New Year on East coast time and were happily home on the sofa before 10pm. I did NOT last until midnight.

Rosemary, sorry about situation but hope that the rest of the doctor appt. is boring boring boring. I have chunks of chocolate walnut fudge in the bag with me. someone at work brought them in but the office has had AMPLE goodies the last two weeks so in the bag they go!

Meeting with my oncologist on Thursday to discuss what next post ooph.--am thinking they need to check my thyroid as well as everything else. Am finally going for BRCA testing, per surgeon's belief that we need to know if we really need to watch me closely. sigh.......

The stress of it all (mother situation, stupid surgery, etc) finally got to me so when I met with my lovely therapist last week, I got more pills for sleeping. Took 1/2 last night and woke up this morning refreshed and feeling pretty darned good. I am a firm believer in better living through chemistry.

Off to reward myself--DH gave me a $100 gift certificate for a favorite cooking store and today is the launch of their big January sale. I am going to maximise my certificate!

    Hugs to all!

    3monst - pity the certificate wasn't for a store in Paris :)

Well, I'm pooped already - just cleaned the pool cover and rolled it up - I hate that thing!!! To top it all off, the pool filter has sprung a leak. Looks like a big palm frond may have hit it and cracked a plastic ring thingy. Water everywhere!! Lucky it didn't happen while we were away. It was running yesterday when I was watering the garden so I would have noticed if it was leaking then.

DD and SIL gone off in Steve's car to visit my mother. Steve is really having trouble coping with the SIL. He's noticed he gets fidgety all the time. I think he has ADHD or as I've said he is a child. Personally, I'm minimising my contact time with him - easier now we're home.

I'm off to have lunch with a bc friend today - haven't seen her since I've been back at work full time. We had the same onc and I met her on the Aussie BC site. We're going to a nice gardening centre which has a restaurant, so we can shop and eat :)

Rosemary - I truly hope you are as boring as the rest of us. ((((((((HUGS))))))))

    BORING  YAHOOO

But i learned a lesson. When the recovery room nurse says there are polyps here are pictures of them they might all 5 be pictures of the same polyp. Yep one stinking hyperplastic polyp (not the bad kind) so once again I get wound up over nothing. Oh well/ I had to stop for a mocha and a brownie on the way home (burp) AND I don't have to go back for 10 years.
