Glad to hear from three people I wish would post more. In addition to the Wabbit, Ann and Pip.

I am very happy to report that it is cool here. Glad you are happy Susie.  If anything, I would prefer slightly lower temperatures, as I am on a medication that makes me sweat. Yuck!

So much news... so little time.

Hi, Pip!!!  Missed you. Glad you're back, but it sounds like you had a wonderful reason to be away.

Blue, I love love love the wedding dress. I don't say that very often, because I think most formal wedding dresses look less-than-flattering on most brides.  That one, though, is truly gorgeous.  I gasped when I saw it.  But, I gasped when I saw the price tag, too.

Mr. otter and I eloped, sort of.  We called our families ahead of time and told them we were getting married.  But, we didn't give them a lot of notice (just a few days), and we said we weren't having a wedding ceremony so there was no point traveling here (many hundreds of miles for all of them) for the occasion.  I found a dress I loved, that cost me just $65 (inexpensive even that long ago).  Mr. otter surprised me with a wonderful bouquet, with all my favorite colors of flowers.  We got married at the courthouse and had a friend (one of our witnesses) take photos. Unfortunately, only one of the photos came out, because he had set the flash incorrectly (old-fashioned 35 mm camera that wasn't very user-friendly).  Oh, well...

Anyway, our marriage is going on 25 years (we married "late"), which is longer than the marriages of some of our friends and family who spent way more money for much more elaborate ceremonies.  So I figure we got our money's worth many times over.

But, nevertheless, I love that dress you found, Blue.

Can't help with the computer problems, sorry.  Mr. otter and I each have a MacBook Pro. His has been misbehaving and he finally figured out what the problem was -- he had to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system to fix it.  Mine needs updating -- I'm still running Mac OS X 10.4! -- but now I'm too scared to do it for fear I'll mess it up.

Sunflowers, you're right about the cost of printer cartridges -- sometimes it's cheaper to buy a whole new printer!  I asked Mr. otter what he would buy using your criteria (photo quality etc.) and he says he has no idea.  Our HP and Epson printers are still limping along.

Gotta go. I'm having a fight with the US Postal Service about mail forwarding, and I lost the last round.  <sigh>

Sunflowers...can't help you with your problem. I'm running 2 ink jet HP's and a Samsung laser printer. I sure can relate to the cost of cartridges. I do all my own printing of my note cards which are taken from my original watercolors. So they have to be top notch in color. Mr. Artsee keeps scratching his head, because I'm always needing new ink. He finally told me they haven't made a printer good enough for me yet...I think he's right.

Here's the Enjoyful/fool/ous story

Once upon a time, there were two groups of women in the Breastdom:  the Tighties and the Loonies (names have been changed to protect myself).  The Tighties and Loonies didn't see eye-to-eye on most things, so they decided they didn't much like each other.  The Tighties left the Breastdom and started their own village, which they named Dombreast.

The Tighties of Dombreast didn't install a Cone of Silence on their village, so passersby could hear everything that they said, including special nicknames they use for the Loonies of Breastdom.  For Enjoyful, one of the looniest of the Loonies, they used "Enjoyless."  

Now, Enjoyful likes a good and clever joke, even at her expense, but thought that the Tighties could surely do better.  She suggested, and became, "Enjoyfool."  And all was right with the world.

After a few weeks, Enjoyfool tired of her new name and changed it to "Enjoyous," and vowed never to walk past the village of Dombreast again.

Hello hello hello!  Cherryl gave you the update on our delightful dinner -- and on my less-than-delightful encounter with Chicago traffic.  See, I foolishly thought that expressways were fast, so Mapquest and I plotted a route that maximized mileage on the interstate.  Silly Mapquest.  Silly, silly me.

Glad to see PiP check in, and to catch up on everyone's Thanksgiving exploits.

 It has been forever since I set foot in that other Kingdom as I thought surely they must be over everyone here by now.  I guess I was wrong.  Maybe I will hop on the next buggy headed that way and wave at the loyal subjects of Dombreast.

Nah. Nevermind.  I'm just not that interested.  Maybe later.

Lewing, thanks.  Here is my Thanksgiving story.  Being a Canadian, I am not accostomed to celebrating this feast at such a late date.  However, being in Florida on that day, my dh cooked up a turkey (rolled meat), squash, stuffing etc.  We set a table, with candles and tablecloth, out on the balcony of our condo and enjoyed a delicious meal.  Topped it off with pumpkin pie and whipped cream.  Delicious.  However, we did decline the 'opportunity' to partake in the Black Friday sales.  

DH called me at work to complain he needs to check his email - pest - I've decided to get the pc set up at least with the virus software and set up his email so he'll leave me alone. I can add the service packs for XP later. I won't even install his printer driver - see how he likes that. He has a laptop at work - go and f-ing get it I say!!! I used a MAC laptop while we were away - did not like it one bit. Some of us have grown up on Microsoft and will never change.

Finally at 9pm I can leave the bloody pc for the night. Had to install all of the Windows updates before I could install the virus software - all done except for the last major service pack which I can't be bothered installing - mine doesn't have it. Now I just have to hope I can get his documents etc from the backup archive and I still have to install MS Office - sigh. At least I've made progress and only got upset once
