DC would be great. i have family on the East Coast so could make a vacation of it, if it came at the right time.
-
As a Northern VA girl, DC would be great for me also!
Side note~
Went out last night to celebrate my mid-40's birthday.
Our old college band Skip Castro was playing.
I am so tired right now and I still cannot hear.
Life is good.

It's all pretty far for me.

Yesterday I almost hit a 12 point buck who was fortunately running at top speed across the road(for those of you who don't live in deer country- a buck with 12 branches on his antler- or a really BIG deer). Today we dird the last of the yard work. It is rare to have a day so late in the year that is perfect for woking outside. It is 60 wih no wind. We will have rain later today but we have had great weather so far.
The pot roast is in the oven and I am wiped out.

Scary, rosemary! Glad you're Ok.
After 23 years without, I have piano in my house again! My sister- and brother-in-law are moving and don't have room for a piano in their new place, so I got it. Now I need to find some music......

Ray's dad once hit a moose. Totalled the Van. Glad you're OK Rosemary.
Wedding dress shopping today. We found the dress, but get this. It costs $7,000.00 Those people are nuts! Gonna see if we can find it cheaper in Buffalo. Otherwise no dice!
It is a Lozaro and the beads are all hand sewn but still.

Beautiful dress, Blue. But $7000? Ack!

I would pay 7,000 (US, CAN, pounds, Euro....) for that gorgeous dress any day - admittedly my shopping habits are not the healthiest. :-)
I would love a get together in DC - unfortunately my shoebox-sized apartment would not be a good venue.
-
Hey Athena~
I know what you mean.
My lego-filled living room would be a minefield for a get-together...
-
WORTH IT!

Had a wonderful dinner with lewing tonight. We raised a glass to the BCO B&G!
-
Back from visiting DH's stepmother - I drove both ways and it was too far IMHO - over 2 hours each way.
I wouldn't want to drive across the Rockies, but I would like DH to see Vancouver - I absolutely loved it. When I came to Canada I flew to Toronto and then flew across to Vancouver. I have been to NOTL - loved it!!! Took a day trip to Niagara Falls from Toronto and the bus driver was from here about an hour south of us - that was weird. I love the Falls and wanted to keep riding the Maid of the Mist all day. NOTL was where I saw my first Christmas Shop - we now have some here, but that back in 1997.
Got to go and get some food and then see to DH's pc which totally crashed and is giving me the absolute sh%^s. Wish I didn't know anything about computers, then I wouldn't be expected to fix the piece of crap!!

Blue - that dress is absolutely lovely I hate that it's $7,000 but it's stunning.....
-
BTW - I LOVE that dress!!!
-
Blue,
The dress is beautiful. Unfortunately lace is sooo expensive. When I made my daughter-in-laws dress I paid over $100 for a piece that was less than a yard. $7,000 is a down payment on a house here in Ohio =;0)
-
With E on that, WORTH IT!!
-
Rosemary - 12 point Buck! Yikes - your knees must still be shaking. that is one large animal. I still haven't seen a moose near me, but most of my friends have. It's on my list of things to do for this year. Hopefully in the wetland on the side of the road, and NOT on the road.
Blue - magnificent dress - but I still have the mentality of that $$$$ being a car. which I'd drive for years. Actually enjoy living not n the "real" world. But it sure is gorgeous.
-
Blue .. the dress is lovely. I'm sure your daughter will look absolutely beautiful in it. I hope you can find the same dress for less in Buffalo.
Hope everyone has a great day,
Bren

Rosemary, a 12 pointer? Wow, you are lucky you missed him. My cousin hit a deer on Monday and her car is totalled. She's is OK, though.
-
The dress is beautiful and the pictures do it no justice. My mom used to work in the fasion industry way back when. Too bad she lost all her connections. Will be searching far and wide for this gem, for a better price.
-
Blue, The dress is lovely. My Aunt was a professional seam stress in the past, and I know her dresses cost lots of money. Well made clothes aren't cheap.
I remember a few years ago my mom hit a deer and totalled their car. It scared her so much she refused to ever drive again.
-
Forgot to mention. Wedding ceremony and reception will take place at the Estates of Sunnybrook, McClean House, and all the profits go to cancer research.
-
Blue .. what a beautiful place to have a wedding. Will it be an outdoor service?
Geez .. it's warmer outside than inside today. Too much wind to get up the rest of the leaves. That project is almost done for the winter. Yay!
Chaplain ... hope you had a wonderful visit with Linda .. you're both such special gals!
hugs to all,
Bren
-
Blue, that's such a lovely, lovely place for a wedding -- what time of year? Oh yes, meant to add that I can picture your gorgeous DD wearing that gorgeous creation!
-
Blue
The dress is gorgeous. One of my daughters eloped and the other one got her dress (very similar) on E-bay for several hundred dollars. I think it is expensive but oh so wonderful
It was the biggest deer I had ever seen. I have the whole story in my head. He is the smartest of all deers. That is how he got to be so old. He was running from something, probably hunters. It was his lucky day. He missed getting shot and getting hit by a car. How do deer celebrate?
-
Yes outdooor wedding in the fall of 2012.
-
Out door wedding are great. My DS got married 2 weeks ago. It was a lovely out door wedding. I'm sure they will have some lovely sunset pictures. Some were taken with them on a peer over the water at sunset.
-
Bren, we had a great time. I felt so badly for her - she got stuck in traffic coming out to Oak Park. But we made up for it. I'm glad her daughter is i school here. I will get to see lots more of her.
