We were all talking about what we really had for dinner.
-
Good morning ladies.....I had posted a reply, which I very rarely ever do, on another thread and it was reported. I was just expressing an opinion. Guess I didn't know that, that was against the rules??? Anyway, I now feel like part of your "club". lol. I have never been reported before. Not sure yet what I am having for dinner. Maybe, porkchops???
-
I think I saw the post you mean and apparently if your opinion disagrees with a certain member it gets reported. Somebody needs a trigger lock on their finger.
-
Patty .. Welcome! So glad to have you here. Our club is growing isn't it. I got reported twice over the weekend. Oh well ... nice to be loved, huh.
Porkchops sound good to me. I'm probably the only one on here who doesn't cook anymore, so I live vicariously through everyone elses daily menu. When DH is home he does the cooking, but he wasn't able to come home this past weekend ... so I'm really getting hungry for something cooked or bbqed.
Rosemary .. I think you might be onto something. I really think the poster may have been influenced by some bad ideas about our dinner menus, and of course, our beloved brussel sprouts.
hugs to all,
Bren

Rosemary...I figured it was probably a certain member. It seems to me there should be a rule that after a certain number of someone reporting posts over and over again THEY should be banned from the site. Because they clearly can't play nice. I have only reported post that were spam once or twice and have never reported a post from a member. Thanks Rosemary for responding to me.
-
Patty, Nice to meet you. You and I both joined the group. I agree never reported a member only reported spam 1 time that came to my PM box.
-
Some people can't play nice unless of course we're playing dressup and they get to be the princess. And I had better quit while I'm ahead because somebody who thinks it is all about them might not get that this is a general comment.
-
Bin....Thanks for welcoming me. You ladies all sound like so much fun. Think I will hang around!
Your right about the dinner menus, they all sound so yummy! My husband also loves to cook so on the weekends the kitchen is his. He cleans up after too!
-
Welcome, Patty! And Yan and Kira (can't remember if I posted that yesterday)!
Welcome back, (((((((Blue)))))))) ! Thank goodness for modern medicine, and for your bravery in getting the surgery!
((((((((Cindy)))))))) -- so sorry about your recon problems, and hope the future brings a good resolution.
-
Ann....you guys are so kind. Thanks for the welcome.
-
Kira...nice to meet you too! Yes, I would think that most members only have reported a post once or twice.
Rosemary.....I so agree with you they should just take their ball and go home if they're not liking the game.
-
Thanks Ann. I for one love talking about food. So trying to eat more vegetables, just wish I new how to make them taste more interesting.
-
Kira
i like most vegetables better if they are baked tha if they are boiled or steamed. Don't know why. Um maybe not lettuce
-
rosemary-b, What temp do you cook them at, and do you cover them? Mine really dried out the one time I tried.
-
I totally agree, Rosemary. Roasting vegetables (and not just the root ones) opened up a whole new world for me. And roasted veggies are great on pasta or in quesadilla.
-
New friends ... yeah ... welcome all!
Pork chops sound good. I like to buy pork loin, slice it and then grill it. No fancy seasonings or sauce ... just some pepper ... and it is yummy. Smash it down thin and it makes an excellent sandwich with lettuce and tomato.
I suspect there was a lot going on in the background this weekend. But we just shake it off and keep on keeping on.
-
I like corn on the cob roasted on the bbq .. does that count as roasting? It tastes like buttered popcorn!
Sure am glad to see the new faces around here.
Blue .. hope all is well with you today .. know you were having some troubles with the DBS. Let us know when you can.
hugs,
Bren

Depends on the veggie but basically 350 until they are done(sorry I can't be more specific). I don't cover them but drizzle olive oil on them. The only way i cook brussel sprouts now. They take 30 minutes or so. Otherwise I mix up a bunch of veggies (carrots potatoes sweet potatoes peppers onions celery brocolli, anything I have around) and toss them with olive oil and cook at 350 until the potatoes are done. I have been doing that all winter and spring oh and in the summer summer sqaush and zucchini work too. cut side down on an oiled cookie sheet, but we mostly eat salad in the summer.
-
White Rabbit....cooking a pork loin like that sounds good. I'll have to give it a try.
It is really, really cold here today in Colorado. Some roasted vegetables cooked Rosemary's way sound just like something that would go nicely with a day like today.
-
Bren ... sure that counts
I love to use the grill in the summer. Green peppers browned on the grill are my new addiction ... and I don't even like them raw.
Thunderstorms here this morning ... big kabooms at about 4:30 am. I think I'm about ready for a nap now.
-
Boy all this talk of food is making me hungry. My poor hubby is still on the brad diest, so I guess I can't be making foods that smell good till he is over the food posioning.
-
kira ... can you sneak out to eat
Feeling bad for your hubby of course but mine was having stomach issues for several months and bland foods get very old in a hurry.
-
Actually we just got his blood work back from last we which ahs me really concerened. It is so way off in many areas. All I need is him to have cancer too. I guess they are going to take another sample in a couple of weeks, hoping it's just the infection. If not more tests to see what is going on.
-
Kira....sorry about your husband. I don't think I have ever experienced food poisoning, but I hear it is bad. What is the brad diet he is on?
Rainy days are the best for afternoon naps. Love em!
-
BRAt, Sorry it's bananas, apple sauce, rice, and white bread. Blah.
-
(((hugs))) to you both. Hopefully it is just because of the food poisoning and his system trying to fight that off.
-
Oh I hope so. He has gone through cancer tests so many times it's not funny. We know there's something wrong just don't know what. This will be his 3rd time with really low blood counts. He has had to have blood transfusions over the years, which is what started them thinking he had cancer. They just don't know where the blood is going. It's been going on for about 3 years now.
-
Kira .. hope your hubby is okay and is on the mend quickly. I think the BRAT diet would get old really fast.
Wow! Three years is a long time for him to be dealing with this. Sure hope you can get some answers.
hugs,
Bren
-
Patty, welcome. Karen sorry about your hubs. I had food poisoning twice and thought I was going to die both times. Ugh. Hugs to him.
DH is cooking tonight and says he has a 'surprise'. ?? I like food surpises, other kinds, not so much. Rosemary, love roasted veggies. Wonder what I have in the crisper?
-
Welcome Patty and Kira! Take a nice cushion and sit down by the fireplace. Sorry that you were reported. Speaking for myself, I no longer check unless my post disappears.
Interestingly, after all our discussion about food, I had potatoes last night. Didn't want to say anything amidst the commotion. Do not ask me how they were done, as they were courtesy of Trader Joe's - Bren - I don't cook either.
