    Ditto, KMMD, thing of you.

I rested last night b/c they worked me hard in Physical Therapy, but they released me! They say my shoulder is healed!! Still icing it and being careful.

Tonight 40 on the elliptical, I could not do that last 5! Long hard day at work. I figured 40 was better than zero!!

Hi Ladies-- quick update on things...... I am doing the temping job and it is rather challenging, but I am doing my best. (It is a front desk receptionist job answering and forwarding calls all day. It is rather stressful and very busy, but have no choice right now.) I have my second interview with a small, local company on Saturday. The advantage of working for a local company would be being able to save time on travel, therefore, exercising more, but I would have to give up my weekends. However, I would have time during the week to go to doctors' appointments without asking for days off. That is until I finish the clinical trial in October. I will keep you updated about how things are.

I didn't have a chance to do my biking since Tuesday. I miss it very much. I hope to do it tonight and continue throughout the weekend.

Happy Friday everyone! Yes I know no one has seen me lately, trying to finish out the school year and getting ready for summer.  katie graduates in a couple of weeks and that is keeping us busy.

I am doing a Regatta in October, rowing or something like that, for a fundraiser for a local hospital.  I have my first training tomorrow out at the lake.  I am really excited, I just hope I don't tip the thing over.  There are 15 of us, I know some, and it sounds really fun.

Has anyone heard from dbdaze?  She hasn't posted anything lately after her surgery.  I am thinking good thoughts for her.  Please let me know.

Enjoy the beautiful weekend! Kari I hope some warm weather comes and sees yuou soon.

Ainm has posted in other places.  So that is good!  You can go to member list and find people and see when they last logged in and where. Now we just need to find dbdaze.

Thanks Diane.  I'm finding there is a balance.  I feel better getting up and moving around and taking short walks or I get too sore and my muscles hurt more.  Yet, if I'm up and using them too much I'll hit a sore spot again.  So, lots of short walks for me.  Really using some of that hip and leg strength I've been working on lately for help in getting up and down.  Good thing I've been sticking with this group for encouragement in getting strength and endurance, can't imagine going through this operation without it

Kate, good for you. I have found recovery so much easier being in shape, I know what you mean. And you are just more familiar with your body, you sound very "in tune".

Another great day here, with lower humidity then typical. 76 degrees this morning when we started our hour long bike ride, 81 when we finished. Not Bad!

Diane, you should be a detective!

Kate- I am so glad you are back at home. I hope you will  feel better soon and will heal very fast. Was it laparoscopy or an open surgery after all? I remember you were worried about the open surgery possibility. If it was laparoscopy you will be able to move around relatively fast in about three weeks. I remember I did. Sending  big hugs!!!

Since I did not do much exercise since Tuesday, sadly, I was a bit out of shape doing the bike ride. But I managed to do at least 35 minutes.

Kate--I remember I was also miserable for the first two weeks. Then I got better and better. But most importantly I was able to move around pretty well. I went back to work in three weeks.

I did a nice 35 minute bike ride. The weather is really lovely in NY. It is cool and refreshing, about 65 degrees. Just lovely.

    Zumba?

Has any one of you attended a Zumba class? Of some reason I think it will be a great fun, but I don't know if I will feel lost since I'm a total beginner!

    Thanks Diane!

It seems like Zumba is very "hot' these days. I will give it a try, I love that kind of music and once I "get over myself" I think I will enjoy it!

Survivorwoman, thanks, it helps to have someone honestly say, yep, its miserable, I do better knowing what to expect, plus, then I'm not left thinking what is wrong with me, no one else thought this was painful

Hi, ladies!  Just checking in.  Hope you're feeling a bit better today, Kate.  And how's the temp'ing going, Survivor? Hopefully, getting more familiar with the job has eased the frantic pace some.  And Diane, I'm so impressed with your crewing!  Sounds like a lot of fun!  Where do you do that?

I've been MIA, first because I hurt my back just before the holiday weekend -- bending over to put a heavy book on a low shelf, if you can believe it, and was hobbling around for several days. Then we had a bunch of family stuff going on, and then my computer, which had been acting up for months, finally died, and it took me several days to figure out that I was ready to switch to a Mac, which I've only had for 2 days.

Headed out to walk now.  We've been blessed with a "coolish" early summer this year.  Usually by late April we're into the triple digits here, but thankfully, not this year -- not yet.     Deanna

We got your heat here Deanna, and we're not used to it!  Feeling a little more like my old self today.  I can't walk for very long, so I"m trying to do multiple short walks.

Just checking in to wish everyone a happy weekend!  It's hot here, too, Kate, although still under our norms for the month.  And I've walked an hour a day this week -- thanks at times to your 10 minute rule!    Deanna

Not even that helped me yesterday Deanna.  Good walk in today though.  Another week and I can start doing a little more, I can't wait.  Nothing makes you want to exercise like being told you can't.  I need to bottle this feeling so in the future when I need it I can take it out and use it

Deanna- Walking daily? That is so cool. Excellent! ----- Thanks for asking. My temping job is fine. It is a bit less stressful. Only a bit though. I like it there and will talk to the hiring manager tomorrow about whether they would consider me for the job. Meanwhile I am still looking for other opportunities.

Kate- how is your recovery going? I hope you are not in pain anymore. Are you able to walk around the house now?

Today I did something I had never done before. I did two loops around the park on my bike. So I did 6 miles. Of course, in between, I took a 15 minute break. Still, I had 2x30 minutes workout on the bike while I was breathing in fresh air.  Two days ago I did yoga and that felt great too. I haven't done that in a long time, so I am really happy I did it. I had great workouts in the past three days.

Ok I am back with a vengence (have no idea if I spelled it right).  Today is the first day of summer vacation.  I will work out a lot, I will, I will. I am planning on taking a body pump class this morning, should be interesting, and Zumba tonight.  That should jump start the fitness craze.

    Happy Monday!
