I've been off this site for a few weeks - totally off, no peeking - but just checked in and WOW . . . belated thanks so much for all the birthday wishes. And a belated happy birthday to my birthday buddy Anne.
Konakat, I hate that you're dealing with pain and hope you can get it under control pronto. And IJBCA, I hate that you're dealing with hard stuff, period.
Love to all!
Linda

Iron Jawed Angel .. just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you. Hope you are able to get a little respite from time to time.
hugs,
Bren
PS .. Blue .. you crack me up!
-
IronjawedAngel -- I'm sorry you're having a hard time lately. I hope you get a break soon.
Blue -- you crack me up!!
Ellie -- I hope you have a good bone scan on Monday and get your pain cleared up.
I'm pain free again -- back to gulping Advils and Tylenol-3, no longer wanting to claw off my face from the SEs. No chemo again today due to low platelets so I'm on chemo vacation until June -- old bod can't handle navelbine anymore. It will be good to see the pain guy on Monday -- I want what Blue had -- sounds like fun!! Thanks for all the encouragement, painkiller ideas, and support!
-
Ya'll need to be a little bit quiet here for the next couple of days. I am going to be off at a horse show and I don't want to come back to 10 more pages of posts!
-
Wish me luck, folks. I am off to do a presentation at Microsoft for 30 people. YIKES! I am a ham but the pressure is on. I did get the cut/color and it looks like a million bucks. So onward! If I don't show up all weekend, it will be because I am under E's bed with the dust bunnies.
-
Good luck, Barbara! Kick butt and take names! You won't need to see Robert (the collective name for the dust bunny community).
-
Good luck, Jancie, and you too, Barbara! It's Friday the 13th, though, so be alert!!
KK--glad you're feeling better today! Enjoy the chemo-cation and read a good book.
Blue, how's the tune-up working??
-
This one seems to be holding its own. Had to tune it down a bit, but good to know I have the option to tune up or down as required. I feel like a friggin borg.
-
Good for you, Blue. Thanks, Anne and E. I did kick butt but I attribute it to my new-found confidence from the new hairdo. Check out the pic of me with one of my customers at the event.
-
Barbara .. you look fabulous! Love the new 'do! Something about a great cut just makes us feel so much better about ourselves.
hugs,
Bren
-
Yes, you're looker for sure! So tiny too.
-
Thanks Bren and Blue. Lucky the pic was not a good camera otherwise you could see all my wrinkles in their full glory. I try to stick to the shadows. The smaller size is thanks to BC treatment and once I lost 10 pounds, I decided to try and keep it off. I am short, however, maybe 5'1".
-
Barbara, you're gorgeous! congrats on the presentation!
Have fun at the horse show, Jancie!

Barbara A - you look adorable! Love love love the hair style - very cute!
-
Just popped in to say hi to Barbara and to compliment her on her lovely hair. It looks so sleek!
I have a question for you.Do you have lovebugs in your part of Florida? Gosh they were a nuisance the last 5 weeks in Sarasota. We left Florida a week ago and noticed as we drove out of Sarasota the lovebugs were not anywhere to be seen. Just wondering if you have them in your neck of the woods.
For those who live in the northern states, the lovebugs aka honeymoon bugs are a twosome attached to each other. They travel in what looks like black clouds and were an absolute menace on the golf course. For vengence when they crawled over me, I delighted in separating them and watched them fly away in surprisingly different directions.
My best to everyone.
-
Hi Painterly, We usually have them later in May. I think they migrate north as the weather gets hot. They are such a mess when I have to travel to Orlando or West Palm. I literally could scrape them off my windshield. I head immediately to the car wash upon arrival at Orlando then immediately upon return home. Ugh.
-
Barbara -- you're gorgeous!
-
Barbara:
Love the cut, very cute and sleek. Now that the presentation is over you can enjoy the weekend - whew!
Sandy
-
KK- is the pain any better? Hope so.
Sandy
-
Well, you might have love bugs but we in the Midwest on the Mississippi have fish flies! What a mess and they stink - we have a place on the river and they swarm and are awful - some people call them May flies. You can usually count on them if you are planning an outdoor party. They make the roads so slippery they sometimes close our bridges! Just wanted to share -
-
kK thanks to fuzzy pixels I look ok. When 10+ mega pixels are involved I look like an alligator. But thanks everyone. It went great. I am still getting kudo emails.
-
Ellie we cross posted. Fish flies sound worse than love bugs. My condolences!
Thanks Sandy. So glad it's done. -
Feeling a bit better, thanks. Looking forward to the hard core drugs I hope I'll get on Monday.
Congratulations on the presentation Barbara. Yeah, right, an alligator. I hope you're celebrating! Still heading to Beantown for the game? If the camera comes anywhere near you toss all decorum aside and jump up and down and wave. I'll wave back!
-
Plan change! Too much $ on this event no $ for Boston. Home in FL in 90 degrees rooting for Lightning. Also rooting for Rays. So there.
-
wow- missed you guys so I thought I would pop back in and a zillion posts to catch up on....my eyes hurt now...time for another cuppa joe. barbaraA- you are a doll -stop with the alligator comments!
-
BarbaraA, I loved that picture. It cracked me up, because my first thought was, "That guy is really tall!" Then I thought, "Gee, maybe Barb is really short." Then I thought, "Who screwed with the camera angle to distort the picture?"
Thanks for setting my mind straight!!
And, I love your hair cut!

Has anybody heard about meat glue?
I was sent a video showing how meat suppliers and restaurants are gluing bits and bobs of meat ends together with some bovine platelets (that smells toxic). Wraping in plastic wrap, refrigerating for several hours then voila - you would never know the difference.
Although not legal in the European Union, I think Canada and the US accept this as standard practice.

Any thoughts on this?
-
Oh, dear God no, I have never heard of "meat glue" and can't watch the video or I'll never eat anything again - are we sure it's legal in North America and what kind of meat is it imitating? Time to send in the emails to the civil servants and skip the politicians they probably get money from whoever is responsible.

Gag me with a maggot. So disgusting.
Thanks Anne. Photos are kinder than the mirror.
