Hey, all, thanks for the BD wishes. It IS today. My kitty brought me a present this morning--a half eaten mouse. He put it by my computer desk. Made me wonder if he wanted a computer to go with that mouse, or was he thinking I needed a new mouse for my computer...
-
Happy Birthday, Anne! Have a wonderful day.... and year ahead!
And a belated Happy Birthday to Linda.... I hope that you are checking in to see all the greetings!
-
Hi, Anne -- Happy Birthday! Glad to hear you got a mouse for your computer (albeit a slightly-used one).
(Hi to Beesie!)

Happy Birthday again! Smart Kitty!!!!!!
-
Smart kitty indeed! He's saying "Why are you fooling around with a pretend mouse? Here's a real one for your birthday. Many Happy Returns (or Enters)"
-
Happy Birthday Anne .. hope you're having a wonderful day!
hugs,
Bren

I guess this was my Mother's Day present. Although I really think that Daisy dog wanted a friend and put in a call to the doggie mothership to order one. Meet Jake ... he just wandered in from ??? lost and confused. He could obviously read the 'sucker' printed on my forehead though and has settled in quite nicely.
Anne ... I think that was the kitty version of baking you a cake
-
Awww, Wabbit, how adorable. Cool eyes, too. Looks well fed. What about his parents?
-
Rabbit .. Jake is so cute. But I'm glad he wondered into your yard and not mine. Does he have one blue eye and one brown eye? I can't believe his owners are not trying to find him as he looks pretty healthy. How is he getting along with Daisy? I guess she's happy now that she has a friend!
hugs,
Bren

We have tried to find an owner by the way. No tag, no microchip, no response to my found dog notices nor any lost dog notices anywhere that match. He is so gorgeous and well behaved it is hard to think that some idiot just dumped him ... but people do it all the time.
Yep ... one blue eye and one brown. Looks like husky/shepherd mix but shorter and stockier build. He and Daisy were bestest friends immediately. Cats are giving me the 'evil eye' but he's fine with them too. Vet mentioned also that he does not seem to have the temperament of husky or shepherd ... very friendly, non-aggressive and mellow.
-
Oh Wabbit, keep him!! So cute!!!
-
He's staying ... he played me like a fiddle!!
We spent all weekend trying to come up with a name ... and you know you have been had once you name them
-
It's good to see you back again Athena!!!
-
He's adorable!
-
Happy Birthday Anne!
Love Jake!
Hi Athena!
-
KK, missed you!
-
How are you, KK?? I was concerned to see a drop in your posting frequency...I hope it's for the right reasons (as in, you need a break from this place - lol!)
-
I'm doing much better as of today, thanks for asking. My pain has been horrible so I get grumpy and hide like a sick cat. I've been waking up in the morning wimpering and moaning. When I went for my labs today I started wimpering again -- felt like I was being carved up like a Christmas turkey. Anyway, one of my fav docs there gave me yummy painkillers and a prescription for long-acting codeine. And I see a pain mgmt guy on Monday. I always tell others not to suffer and I wasn't taking my own advice. What a duffus. Also had a ton of xrays to see if anything is worthy of radiation.
I feel like a new person with the good meds!!
-
YAY for good meds. The board is not the same without your contribution. HUGS!
-
Wow...this thread moves so fast! Jeesh...Miss a few days and feel totally out of the loop. Recap of what I read.....birthday greetings and cheers for all who are celebrating. I haven't caught up on sports other than Go Canucks! KK ...I agree with the others that your daily posts are dearly missed but I do hope you are looking after yourself...Yeah for good meds...heed your own advice and don't suffer in silence. Welcome back Athena. Blue..glad you enjoyed the opera. Prolonged chemo brain keeps me from rememberkng everything else I read and if I hit the back button , I 'll lose this post...trivial as it may be! Damn iPad is unforgiving.
Cheers

I love your new doggie Wabbit!! He's gorgeous! He has a cute, tentative expression, like he's asking "Will you be my Mummy?"
-
KK - Hurrah for good drugs! Being stoic doesn't get us any extra points! So relieved you're feeling better.
-
Thanks KK ... I am so glad to read that you finally got some pain meds and are feeling better!
-
Codeine = Copacetic! (also = Constipation)
Prunes and Sennakot S work (but you probably already know that....)
Smooches KK!
-
KK - I have been going to a pain clinic for about 8 months now. I tend to undermedicate and then I mentally lose it because I am so frustrated feeling like crap all of the time. I am trying to balance the pain meds to where they help but I don't get addicted. Right now I am on extended release morphine and percocet. Glad that you are getting the help that you need.
-
Pickle141 - I went out of town for 3 weeks, have been so dang busy since I got back that I am not online as much as I used to be. I left this thread at page 221 and here we are on page 298 - I didn't even try to bother to go back and read everything I missed.
-
Morning all. I need to be in Boston next Monday and am toying with going up Saturday and cheering on my Lightning. Hmmmm. Let me see how much they will ding me for a ticket. GO LIGHTNING!
-
KK
Glad you're getting good meds. Keep on those drs if the meds quit working.
-
*muttering dark things about the Lightning*
WR - I LOVE Jake! I'm not a dog person but I'd willingly give up my man-dates and adopt Jake instead. Jake looks like he'd stick around when the going got tough.
KK - Hoooooray! on the pain meds! I'm so glad you got something that works for you. Like Alpal said - toughing it out doesn't get us any extra points. And just think - now you can take that beach vacation and enjoy it pain-free!
