Lady Gaga is coming to American Idol.
The Grammy-winning singer will mentor the final four contestants on the May 11 episode.
James Durbin, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina will perform songs written by Leiber and Stoller, who wrote most of Elvis Presley's most memorable hits, like "Hound Dog" and "Jailhouse Rock." They also wrote Stand By Me (With Ben E. King) and Smokey Joe's Cafe.
Hot off the heels of Jennifer Lopez's performance this week, fellow judge Steven Tyler will premiere his new music video, "(It) Feels So Good," on the May 12th results show.
Season six winner Jordin Sparks will perform.

I feel when James gets emotional that he gives a poor performance. He needs to stay upbeat.
-
I think James will be the next to go--he's getting too emotional and not holding it together enough (which is too bad, cus he's really talented and a nice guy); then Haley; I think the final 2 will be Scotty and Lauren. Lauren is my favorite--I think both she and Scotty will have long music careers.

Anne I agree win or lose those two are set.....someone has grabbed them already I'm sure.
-
Haley has been told twice to watch her mouth, which I've never seen happen before on AI.
-
Scotty is my favorite. I do like James, and I think he seems more needy then anyone else on the show (but then what do I know), and is it possible its finally getting to him..........not sure where his wife and baby are when he is in Ca., but if they are there, then that should not be an issue,................however if it is all coming down to seperation and nerves, possibly once it is over, and if he does win.........he will be ok..........maybe it is the pressue now
Scotty seems so relaxed. He is so damn cute, and so genuine. Not to mention the fact.............this boy has an amazing voice............he truely is the most talented...............a country singer can sing almost anything,,,,,,,,,but a rock singer, does not do real well with country
and if you can sing Elvis, and sound as good as he does, he's my winner

Wasn't surprised to see Jacob go. He can sign, but I do not think he did well this week. I am hoping it comes down to Hailey and Scotty. James is good, but agree with others, his emotions get the best of him. Lauren can sing very well, but there is something missing for me, I could take her or lose her....not invested in her for some reason. Scotty is going places no matter what, that boy can sing. And this week we got to see some of his personality come through, he seems so comfortable on stage. I love the uniqueness of Hailey's voice, I think she would do well with Jazz or Soul.....I think she also has a career if she wants one. This season is good talent and fun to watch. J-Lo needs to stop monopolozing the judging though....sometimes the others barely get to speak.

Wow, I've missed so much! My son (who also watches this) had finals all week so I had to wait for him to see it, and in the meantime, I've been caught up in the tangled web of researching my family history on Ancestry.com - that site is a real pain to navigate! A few days ago, I got an email from a lady because my family shows up in her family tree. Next thing ya know, I'm researching - it's fascinating, but addictive!
I figured it would be Jacob to go home, because the others are all VERY good. I think from here on, it's going to be very painful to watch. Lauren couldn't handle being in the bottom two - she was crying the whole time. Either this experience will light a fire under her (I hope so) or she'll get so discouraged that she will really under-perform.
Teka, my new avatar is the funny cat from Shrek. In case someone doesn't know, he is voiced by Antonio Banderas and he's a riot! That is the cat's sad "pretty please" look and the other characters immediately fold when he does it. Kind of reminds me of my dog....
-
heartnsoul76,
Your avatar is a keeper!
-
Keeping my fingers crossed for a Lauren and Scotty finale!!!
-
You're probably right.
-
-
-
I am very happy with the final four. It could go to any one of them.
-
They better bring their (A) game.
-
Are we ready?
-
Seyla, yes, I am here!!! Down to 10 minutes till GO time!!!!
After tonight, we will see who are the final 3 tomorrow!!! Best of luck to all of our favorites!!!!
What is the theme for tonight? I think I read something where Lady GaGa is the mentor for this week! Like her even though sometimes she can be a bit "out there"!!!
-
Very old songs
-
I Loved James doing "Don't Stop Believing". This man is a singer and not just a screamer. He can scream incredibly well, but it isn't all he's done. He has incredible talent and those who only call him a screamer .. I don't get it.
-
He is adorably cute and has full stage presence.
GO James!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes, and he doesn't need to mature .. he's there! Well said, Seyla!
-
And he is naturally funny. I loved his face expressions.
Haley Im little confused
((angel))
-
Lauren is the next AMERICAN IDOL! Simply beautiful... she has finally ARRIVED!
-
((NBN))
-
NBN I agree I loved Lauren tonight!! She did everything right
I can't wait to hear the next songs they are singing... keeping my fingers crossed that she blows them all out of the water.
-
Renee...My heart wants Lauren or James top 2
But Im really scared for Lauren....
-
Ok... Gonna kind of step out here....
James... OK performance.... Not his best... Thinking that was an attempt to fly under the wire and coast!
Haley, Thought it was good but, I think the judges just are not in her corner!
Lauren... Loved the song and how she sang it BUT the "pick and choose" of the segments of the song that she sang were rather choppy and left me not feeling it!
Scotty.... Alan Jackson.... VERY good choice!!!
OK.... Gaga is in the house!!! Hope all do well in round 2!!!!
-
I think Haley will prob go home this week... that's my opinion!
-
I agree Mimi....i want James to win or maybe Scotty :-)
-
Haley... WOW!!!
