Baby it's cold outside

I posted 34 degrees 6 hours ago. It is only up to 48 now but the sky is blue, the sun is shining, there is no wind and the air has that soft feel of spring for the first time this year. Heaven!
-
Sounds heavenly chabba, sun and blue sky makes even cold weather a little more tolerable.
I am very upset - we have a winter storm warning for 3-6 inches of snow tonight. This is absolutely unbelievable. Doesn't look like temps over 60 until the last week of April and then cold temps for the first of May. CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!
(hope crap is ok to say on this thread)
-
Suzette just keep thinking about the beach in St Thomas
That what I am doing as I see the hail and snow outside my window.
-
suzwes, I will definitely be in your suit cases. This is beyond ridiculous!
-
It is - Mum, I will keep thinking about the beach in St. Thomas. Even getting to Miami the day before we leave will be lovely! I keep visiting the beach thread too because it helps me to visualize!
-
It reached 85 today. The pool is 86 degrees. Had the grands over and played in the pool and in the backyard. We really need rain right now. It will be up to 90 before the week is over. I wish we could send some of it your way ladies in the north. It gets warm fast and stays that way for a long time. We've had the a/c on for several weeks now.
-
I wish you could send some heat up here too. We just had a short snowstorm, it's April 17th for goodness sake.
-
today was actually kind of a normal spring day here - after yesterday with its torrential rain and lightning like I've literally never seen before, the sun was nice to see.
mbtlcsw, i wouldn't want air con yet, but two or three days of 50 and sun together wouldn't be bad!!
-
I love the 80 degree days and 60 degree nights, but alas, we will be in the 90's the rest of this week. Wehave to run air conditioning about 8-9 months a year, but rarely have to turn on any heat. DH and I can handle this because we have a pool we get in after work with our dogs and then walk after it cools down a bit. Happy spring to you guys in the north. I know your spring is so much more beautiful than ours and the colors for the flowers seem far more vibrant.
-
49.9 degress right now, cloudy. Some breeze, feels cooler than it should outside. BUT--there are birds nesting in the cedar bush on the corner of the house! No peepers yet, but I've seen robins and heard mourning doves. THERE IS HOPE FOR SPRING!!!
-
36 degrees - snow flurries again this morning. We had our peepers NM, about two weeks ago and usually they stay peeping the whole spring and summer. I went outside last night and there was total silence - the peepers probably froze, poor babies. I'm used to getting snow in April but usually it's just flurries and the cold only lasts a day or two between warm ups. Other than our 83 degree day a week ago we've been way below normal this spring. Glad your robins and mourning doves are back.
-
suzwes, it is 40 here but feels like 30 with the windchill, forecasting slushy snow for tomorrow. Remind me why we live here
-
Hey Karen I'll remind you if you can think of something to remind me. UGH! I'm so cold. PLEASE MARY, send some heat up here!
-
It was almost 90 today, no rain and hot. We did get in the pool this afternoon. Starting to swim again. We have a baby sand hill crane out back with his parents. He is a baby but about 1 1/2 foot tall, very golden and his parents are gray. I love watching them grow up. Hope the gators don't get him. It is mating season for those buggers.
-
Wow, I haven't posted in a few days and it looks like most of you ladies are still experiencing cruddy weather. It has been overcast here for a couple days, but still comfortable. I worked in the yard on Sunday and got a horrible sunburn on my upper back and shoulders. It is still quite painful. Got to get back into the swing of sunscreen as the weather heats up!
-
meece, we are beyond cruddy, what's the superlative of cruddy. The only thing you can get from this weather is moldy! Karen
-
Oh, that is so sad! Mold is a problem when it is always damp, isn't it? Do you have tgo have a dehumidifier going. or is your heating enough to keep the air indoors dry?
-
It was 91 degrees yesterday. Way to hot for spring time.
-
We sure have the extremes this year!
-
Meece, we had one heck of a thunderstrom last night and rain, today it will hit 52, that's good but it is cloudy and raining off and on. The furnace takes care of the dampness. I guess we are getting sunny tomorrow, it will be so welcome. Karen
-
I think we Got part of the same thrunderstorm system.Today has been dark and dismal with on and off rain. But the air temp has warmed up I must drag myself out of the house and get to the gym.
-
We had thunderstorms all night and some hail. We're currently at 36 degrees, gray and gloomy with a lovely wind chill of 22 degrees. There's hope for sun tomorrow. We sure have had extremes this year. Karen, you and I seem to have the exact same weather! Enjoy the gym Mum, I need to get there so I'm not hanging out of my swimsuit in three weeks (ewww, that's a bad vision).
-
Suzwes- I cant' believe how cold it still is for you. It is currently 81 and suppose to get to 92 today. Way to hot for springtime.
-
Sleet and hail. I'm getting sleet and hail. Yuck.
-
just a bit windy here,29 mph with windgusts up to 50. Rain stopped, just dreary. Supposed to be cloudy all week, 4 days with rain. NM, your weather seems equally unpleasant. had your sleet and snow on Tuesday. Yuck indeed
-
Reached 90 degrees today. Came home at noon feeling really crappy. Not sure if it is a migraine or I ate something wierd. Trying to send some of this heat and sun to you guys up north and you can send us some rain in exchange.
-
mbticsw01, oh I wish we could do that, it was so windy today, my earring blew out of my ear, luckily it snagged on my sweater. My DD made them for me, they have a tiny wire that hooks on to my earlobe. Karen
-
It was overcast yesterday and we had a bit of drizzle, more of the same today, but it is nice and warm.
-
I'll live vicariously through Meece, Mary and Sherry so keep telling me about your warm temps. The weather guesser did say this morning that the northern jet stream was supposed to move north this weekend and that it's awfully late for it to move north however it's typical in an el nina year (I think it's el nina). It sounded like a bunch of BS to me but I have to hold on to something during this cold weather, so I'm chosing to believe him. At least the sun is shining even though it's only 41 degrees. Hopefully the sun is coming to NY and Maine!
-
It has been warm this week. tonight temp is about 70 and it is getting a little overcast and possible showers tonight.
I am putting out my hummingbird feeder tomorrow. I haven't seen any yet but I want it to be ready when they get here.
