Posted too soon!! Spring, you guys ended up with all of our storms!!! YUK But your attitude is infectious, I love it!!
Besides walking with DD and baby and doggies, then we did mommy and baby yoga together last night before I went home pooped. I had gotten up at 5am yesterday and got on the treadmill. A little tired this morning but 84 degrees expected today. We cannot believe it!
-
So far we cycled for 2 hours and just missed the rain storm! Yay!!! I found on the web an "hour by hour" weather informaiton site, and this is so helpful!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!!! As I have been glancing through, it sounds as if everyone is as busy as me. DD and I went to Spokane a couple of weeks ago to tour Gonzaga one more time. What a blast, during the NCAA playoffs--the touwn was too excited. Last weekend her school hosted a track meet with 1500 athletes so that kept me too busy. This weekend however was mine. My sister is in town and we are having a lot of fun. Dinners outside, it has been beautiful here, biking, just lots of conversation. Next weekend we go tour Redlands one more time, come home and leave for Creighton, Hopefully by then she'll have made her choice, although none are bad. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully my life will slow down soon.

Haven't been exercising enough lately... Feeling tired, and I think it is my thyroid again... so I saw my primary care dr. and he wrote me a script for a slight increase in my thyroid hormone... hope it helps.. I am sick and tired of feeling TIRED!
Hope everyone is doing great! I went for a run on Saturday, at the amenity center, I used the treadmill... I went about 3 1/2 miles... felt good to get some exercise.

I exercised like crazy on vacation, and then Sunday we rode bikes at home for over 2 hours! Today was the weight machines at the gym. The great thing, though, was our vacaiton riding really rocked b/c we are both in really good shape and we ride pretty regularly. Didn't go through the first few days of sore butt and exhaustion!!
I just can't run Harley. Isn't that strange? I never could. I don't know what it is about me and running. Oh well.
Totally off topic, I just ordered some Estriol oil for vaginal use off the web. Has anybody here tried this? I need some help down there an nothing else I try is working!!!!!!!!! ugh.
-
Spring, I don't really LIKE to run, but it seems to take FOREVER, when I WALK... I can't run the entire time, I still have to stop and walk periodically. I did a 5K run many years ago, before I ever was dx'd with breast cancer... well, I guess I had it, I just hadn't felt the lump yet.
estriol oil? Where do you get it?? You don't need a script from your dr.?? I may need to try that. I have the same issue...

Hi everyone. So so week exercise wise, but, kept up good eating. Getting ready to get a long work out in tonight. Kind of nice when it becomes such a habit that getting in workouts three times a week qualifies as a so so week that must get better the following week
-
Spring, I've never tried Estriol oil, but did go to my Gyn 2 months ago. She fitted me with a vaginal dilator to use 10 min/day and suggested I use Astroglide, KY (Plain KY) or the surgilube that they use. She also said to use plain old salad oil, any kind of oil, messy but it works she said. I tried it once, but it was too messy for me.
I'm really sore...I've been going up to the 2nd or 3rd floors of our building to once per hour...taking steps 2 at a time (lunges)...and doing my jumping jacks, walks, different moves...I'm determined to tone up and build bone strength!
Had my blood work done, I see my onc next Monday, everything is normal! My Vit. D level is 31 so I will try and get that number up. The highest I got it was last June...to 61.

Hi,all ~ Just returned from an hour walk -- the first one in several days. DS still dealing with a painful kidney stone. Spent Saturday in the ER again, plus playing nurse others days and many other distractions.
Spring, after hearing several docs I trust say that vaginal Estriol is absolutely safe for ER+ bc survivors, I started using it (suppository form) a few months ago. I even smear some on my face. It's made a world of difference, and I personally believe it's totally safe. And I sort of have the same issue you do with running. For some reason, I can't comfortable run or jog more than about 1/3 of a mile, then I just stop. Why is that??
kmmd, isn't it great to really miss exercise when we can't get it, and actually want to get in more?!
Diane, sounds like your daughter's doing really well with her college acceptances! I've heard of so many rejection letters this year. Is Creighton still her first choice? My DS is a 2004 Redlands grad. He was quite active on campus, so let us know if your daughter has any questions or if he can help in any way. Deanna
-
Deanna, I read Dr. Lee's book that is all about hormones. I never did the progesterone, but I have decided I just can't do this anymore without help down there. I have tried everything! (Though Kari, I have not yet got a vaginal dialator, I need one of those and will ask for one in JUNE!!!) Is it a perscription? Does Merc Medco mail it to you in the mail??? LOL!!!
so anyway, Deanna, thank you for sharing that with me. I know Estriol is the weakest Estrogen. If you get a script for Estring, it's not Estiol, but a stronger estrogen, so I think this is a safer choice. Where did you find it in suppository form? That sounds so much easier than this oil thing. (I am hoping it comes with some sort of applicator!)
I got it on the Web!!! I asked my osteopath last time and she said to use vit E - I need more help than that at this point. I got a bioidentical non-paraben kind. I believe the brand is "Natural Radiance'.
So- how can I justify all this Estiol talk on this thread? Can we say that sex is like exercise??? (And no I am not going to record here that activity !!!! LOL!!!!) Sorry, I am clearly out of CONTROL tonight!
OK on to exercise! Weights yesterday and tonight 45 on the elliptical, and it was so easy! All that bike riding I guess. Just not a runner!!! Deanna, maybe it is too much josteling???
-
hmm... I must be stupid, but... Spring, did you say you got the Estriol oil on the web? Can you buy it in the drug store? Why don't we need a script from our doctor for it?? I need to know, so I can go look for it....
can U tell that ALL of us seem to be having this same problem?? LOL

Harley, the gift that keeps on giving!!! But yes, I found it on the web, I will put the link below. I've never looked for it in a drug store. I was thrilled to see I could just get it myself, I am tired of complaining about this issue and getting nowhere. this is one thing that is getting worse over time, and I have reached the end of my rope. It's either - never do it again, or get Estriol. Yes, I am finally there. Just. Too. Painful.
See the 5th one down (no image) http://www.naturallybetter.net/NAcatalog.html
Here is info on safety - http://www.naturallybetter.net/1bioidentical_estriol_oil.html
Today did the weights and now running out to YOGA!!!

Ha, I had this discussion with some other BC sistah's...I was emailing my Gyn back and forth telling her that sex was awful, painful, dry, etc. and she made some suggestions. She said you could go to a sex toy shop and get toys or I could come in and she could fit me with one. So I went in and we had an honest discussion. She said our oncs will not let her prescribe Estriol or ANY estrogen "down there" products...hmmm...so anyways, the dilators come in sizes so she fit me with one and said "here you go, its your gift" and gave me samples of the lube they use. If I use the dilator it REALLY makes a difference. And when I don't, the pain comes back. I also have to use lubricant. YES, talk to your gyn in June!!
I did 10 min (all the time I had before work) on the treadmill and have been doing the stairs at work and not much else yesterday, I was pooped out from Monday's exercise and I couldn't sleep Monday night. Heading to DD's after work, hoping we can get a walk in together.Deanna, how is your DS doing with the kidney stone?
-
Spring, I got my estriol from this website, which was recommended by a BCO-sister:
PM me if you want any more info.
I walked about 50 mins. this morning in a light, warm rain -- a pleasant rarity here in the desert.
Kari, DS is still waiting for that darn thing to pass. Yesterday he drank olive oil & lemon juice (a folklore type remedy). Not sure if it moved the kidney stone, but it sure made him extremely nauseous. Today he tried another old folklore type remedy -- first you drink 6 cans of Coca Cola drank in quick succession, then you eat asparagus puree. I'll let you know if it works.
-
Thanks Deanna will check out that link.
Kari, my GYN said she would prescribe me "e-string" once I was a few years out. I looked it up and it uses estridoil (not a safe estrogen!)
I need to be "fitted" with a dialator!! Did she just give it to you in the office? Like they have all different sizes of them just laying around??? lol
Yoga was good.

I was going to say sorry I've missed here but after reading to catch up OMG!! This isn't fair-I'm single and haven't had anyone in my life in over two years! I'll keep this info on the back burner for future help. Yes Spring you do burn calories.
The Wii is very interesting. It keeps track of when and how many days I exercise. It is addictive. So I am doing that and walking twice a day. And the weather is gorgeous this week.
I also had some spots taken off today. These were on my arm and one on my face.
Kari do you have pucker face? Deanna hope your family is doing well. Diane I'm sure you will be glad when the college is picked. Harley-good on the running. Hey to everyone else. Keep on moving. I even do the 10 minute rule on the Wii.
-
The Wii Ten sobx, love it.
Hello everyone, checking in, been a good week working out despite the crummy weather. Happy it isn't snow, but, shudder thinking of all of the mosquitos lapping up all this rain.
-
Confession, I was supposed to do 45 on the elliptical last night and didn't!! :O
Leaving for a retreat this afternoon for the weekend... Hope to get some walking in at least! -
Spring, I thought you did your exercise EVERY DAY! I always feel so bad, cause I don't...
Today, though I walked the neighborhood with a neighbor, and ran back home the rest of the way.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Harley
-
I think it might be nice enough to get an outside walk in today, that would be so awesome
-
kmmd,
It is kinda nice here when the sun is out, but the clouds seem to be moving in....
If I can, I will go out and run thru the neighborhood, after lunch. I'm meeting a friend for lunch.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

I need some motivation! The pounds keep building since I'm on Tamoxifen. Very depressing!
-
MBCR,
Welcome to this wonderful group of women... they will keep you focused on getting your daily dose of exercise! A great bunch of women! I guess it is nice when we are keeping each other moving...

Another day & no exercise. Lately I seem to be at the computer for work. Ugg!
-
I better exercise today, I better exercise today, I better exercise today!!! (getting myself psyched!)
-
Well girls ski season is officially over for me as of yesterday. I'm joining you because I need motivation to keep moving now that I've hung up the boards for another season. We are now officially in mud season. It's pouring rain which means treadmill UGH! Hope you can help me keep going.
Well back to my taxes, Double UGH! -
MBCR, it takes a while to get this to be a routine. Just start out doing 10 min a few times a week or something you like. Slowly build it up. Slow and steady makes a difference. The thing I noticed with starting Tamox is I was ravenous even though I really shouldn't have been hungry. Try to watch out for that. The Tamox weight does level off then get better, but, it is obviously better to limit as much as you can adding on the pounds early on.
snobird, welcome, it is a great place to be
3 mile walk today and I didn't get snowed or rained on!
-
We went to beautiful Napa and Sonoma Valley last Friday, I took the day off. Its so gorgeous there! Spent the night in Calistoga and did our mineral pool/hot tub...VERY NICE! So no exercise for me until yesterday. Yoga/strength/long walk!
Today was my 4 month Onc appt. She will check my bone density again next January and then discuss whether or not we do something about it. She said to add another 1,000 IU's of Vitamin D and make sure I'm getting 1,500 mg Calcium. My Vit D level blood test was 31...too low for my taste!! Glad the sun is out.
Spring, the Gyn had to go get the dilators, they come in different sizes and are each in a box. Good luck!!
-
Thanks Kari!!
I did it! 45 minutes on the eliptical! Tomorrow at least the weights at the gym, maybe another 45 !!
Feels good to be back on track!

I'm glad I found this thread...having such a hard time getting motivated. The past few months have been so crazy with surgeries and chemo, so I always seem to find a way to use that as an excuse. Now I will be starting radiation on Monday and that's how it seems to go, something is always coming up and I figure "why start now?" but the 25 lbs. I have put on since the beginning of all of this is making me go UGH when I look in the mirror or have to pack away a pair of pants because they are too tight. (the 5 oreo's I just ate didn't really help either!) I need to be kicked into gear and help accountable, so I 'm hoping this thread will help. My problem is that I still receive Herceptin every 3 weeks and just a few hours after I get it, the bottoms of my feet are so sore and it lasts for at least a week and half, making walking on the treadmill or outside VERY difficult. So, with you all as my witnesses, I vow today to start doing some type of exercise daily...will keep you posted!
