Thinking Out Loud.....

DOes psychrophobia refer to being sick of the snow? Is it because all the snow makes you psycho? I was out shoveling earlier and the snow banks along the side of my driveway are about 3.5 to 4 feet high. SO when you shovel the new snow you have to lift it up over the 4 foot bank and throw it. Can't wait for the ice storm to start later. Yes, I'm dripping with sarcasm! I am coldaphobic too!
-
Chionophobia: Fear of snow, not being sick of it, but I think it can encompass that as well.
-
I like that word!!

Everyone please keep their fingers crossed that my 35 yr old daughter Rebekah has a clear mamogram. Today is her first one.

EAS alert fail. My DD was watching something on the DVR and it was interrupted because there was an EAS alert currently on tv. Wanting to know what the alert was, I told her to put it on the local station. The screen was blank with EAS on the bottom of the screen. No message.
Hmmmm. Was there an alert? Did someone push the EAS button by mistake?

-
chris..I didnt see any alert here in NY.
-
Ha - I think it was a test. I found a website that has the test schedule and there was a test scheduled for today at 11:40 AM. That might have been when it happened. There is usually info indicating that it is a test though... A little unnerving to have an alert with no info - although I would have assumed it had something to do with the weather if it weren't a test.
We now resume our regularly scheduled programming.
-
Hugs and best of luck Rebekah! And Mom!!
LOL on the EAS button mistake!
-
Fingers crossed for a clear mammogram ♥
Hope everyone still has power and is home safe.
-
fingers are crossed Deb.....dr. wants another hit of flasodex tomorrow, you can do that for the first month at 15 day intervals so tomorrow is it then again on 2/3....blood pressure os 150/100....and is everytime i go there. kids have finals this week so are out of school more than the are in.
Have a good night!!

Hello friends - I am sorry to have disappeared. Frst I was sick and then we had a crisis with my DH. We went for our eye check ups and found out he has a signficant emergency with his eye and it could cause blindness. There is either a bleed, a tear, or a cyst in his macula just behind the retina. This is not good. We have been focused on this, finding the best retinal/vitreous specialist, the best retinal surgeon etc. We have an appt with the first one tomorrow afternoon. DH is not doing well with this. He is kind of freaking out actually. I don't think he will do well at all with this process and I hate to say he is a baby, but he is a baby
I promise to get back on here like my usual self after we have his appt tomorrow - right now I am taking him to happy hour
I am feeling better for sure. And no, we didn't float away in the storm here....
Thank you all for checking on me (((((TO ALL)))))))
-
Hugs to Diane and your husband!!! Wishing for the best for him!
-
Diane sorry you are both going through difficult time. Hugs♥
I just heard several inches of snow is possible Thursday after midnight.
I don't want to cancel my appointment for 3 months check up. The one that I have to take the bus.
(((Rebekah)))
I'm tired tonight will watch some taped shows and go to bed earlier than usual.
Good Night and You all take care of yourselves,
♥

I don't know what is going on outside. I think it's icy here, but earlier I saw puddles on top of ice on top of the snow, so I'm not sure exactly what it's like out. I saw an announcement on the crawl on a local tv station that I-84 was closed between 2 exits while the salt and sand trucks tried to clean the road. There's a hill between those 2 exits - probably too icy.
Lots going on with everyone, I see. (((((Deb & Rebekah))))))) (((((((Diane and DH)))))))) ((((((Sandy))))))))) (((((((((Sheila)))))))))) ((((((((Meece & Matt))))))))) (((((((Everyone))))))))

Hi ! good afternoon everyone! I am back after a long time as I was with my son who visited me from Singapore for a weekend and again preparation for both my daughter and grandaughter,s visit to Singapore on 14th Jan.. I was totally confined. My fingers got totally numb due to extreame cold temperature here. I never experienced such a cold season this time in last 20 years. I missed you all so much that is why I am forced to be here. Good to see all your posting
s ..and also feeling of togetherness relief our body and mind !
-
Welcome back Raj! Hope you had a nice visit. It's cold here too - crazy weather we've been having with more on the way! I like the picture you posted. ♥
-
Love the pic too. Great to see you Raj. we missed you too. Crazy cold here too tons of snow and ice. I fell in my driveway a couple times. lol! More snow on the way for Friday....6 more inches or so. Where am I going to put this? I WANT SPRING!
Good luck today Diane!! Thinking of you Rebekah and Meece!
-
Thank you, Linda.
Deb, perhaps DDs dr will call with the results as soon as he gets them. The local imaging center that I use when I HAVE to, is always over a week behind when it comes to notifying me vs. notifying my dr. I think I have about enough of that lab because twice now, thier reports have had errors on them.
-
Once upon a time we used to have sun and blue sky. Do you remember it??????????????
Good Morning All
Raj so nice to see you you are back.
God Bless you Foots. I'm thinking about your heat issue all the time.
-
chris nobody knows whats going on outside.
more snow expected in NY up tp 9 inches on Friday AM lalalalalalalalalalala
-
Same here for Friday, starts around 3 a.m. Commute should be wonderful!
Deb, why not call the imaging center and let them know you have a fmaily history (even though they probably know). It may jolt them to read the results quicker.
-
When I read about how you have to wait for results, I realize how lucky I am to go to a mammography center that has two in-house radiologists who read it with you present, every time. I never have to wait to hear that I need more shots. They don't let you leave until they have done all they can. I have even had same day biopsies three times over the years. It would totally suck to wait like that - I am a naturally anxious person, made even moreso by this experience. I symphathize!
Off to #20, woo-hoo. Got another tattoo above the tumor cavity yesterday to get ready for boosts which start around #25 or #26, for nine of those. Then pick up daughter, take her to hang with DIL, pick up DH, go to retina specialist, go to counselor, go to breast surgeon for basic follow-up that I don't understand why I need. In and out of the city three times. Ugh.
DH is calmer today, keep your fingers crossed.
Hugs all!
