Happy new year to you Rae. Right now the temp is about 30 degrees and calling for temps in the high 50's today.
My hubby will be home tonight but I will probably be asleep when the new year comes in. I fall asleep by 11:00 pm no matter where I am and suddenly wake up about 12:30 ready to go to bed.

Raeinnz--just turned on the news and saw New Year's fireworks from somewhere in the Australia area--Happy New Year to you! You beat us to it!
-
-
Happy New Year Rae! 81 sounds divine. Happy New Year to those of us in the US in a few hours. We're at 46 and have had some thunderstorms today. The snow is melting well and the ice on my driveway is almost gone. Yipee! A little reprieve before our next winter storm comes in.
-
Happy new year Rae, but it is 80 degrees here in Tampa, FL this afternoon. My how the weather has changed back and forth. Had to put on shorts today----
Down in the 50's tonight. We may have some rain tomorrow and the next day. My conservation area in the back is drying out, but we have hundreds of ibis out there along with storks, sand hill cranes and so many other birds. Filled up the bird feeders today for them. Have a wonderful new year everyone. Enjoying my first of several glasses of wine with the DH, watching football. Life is sooo good.
-
Dh watching football, too. He won't notice where I am until half time, but then he'll find another game.
-
Tonight we expect temps in the single digits. Even our little furbaby who usually sleeps on top of the blankets at the foot of the bed may decide to crawl under the blankets tonight.
-
32 degrees here tonight, don't think it made it much above 40 today. This time of year our lows are higher than today's high.
-
42 right now, tonight down to 32. Tomorrow, more rain. How about you Nancy. I hate the wind as well.
-
With our ground being so saturated the wind worries me. Yes, a quiet New Year's Eve.
-
Quiet New Year's Eve here last night. My hubby came home so tired we went to bed at 10:30. He didn't even wake up when the neighbors (end of the street) set of the usual fireworks at midnight.
at 8:30 am temp is 40 degrees, some rain showers today with temps in the 50's, my driveway also is almost fully melted. I am going to have to find someone who can scrape my driveway flat, I have so many ruts in my drive it isn't funny.

Our evening was quiet as well. We went to bed by 9:45 watched tv until 11, then turned out the light. Woke up at 11:55 in time to say our happy new Year greetings then hear all the gun shots outside. I hate that part. last year I found a .38 slug on my back patio. I never found what it it, perhaps it was shot up and just landed on the patio, but the slug had quite a dent in the leading edge of it.
We are guessing another rain front coming in today and tomorrow. The weather guessers are over guessing all of the storms since "the big one" so who knows if it will be as bad as was predicted.
-
In WNY you never know what the weather will be. We had 50 degrees yesterday, today is 45 and raining, snow is almost all gone. Back to winter tomorrow with a high of 30 and snow flurries all week. 50 and 45 were quite a treat, now back to reality. Had a quiet New Years Eve with my grandson, asleep by 12:15. Karen
-
The rain clouds are gathering, but they didn't read the weather guesser's report that said they should spill at noon.
-
Raining here all day but it is better than having to shovel the white stuff.
-
Only two hours late but we are getting a few sprinkles. Since it is cold anyway, and we rarely get any, I wouldn't mind a bit of the white stuff.
-
We had a "warm" day yesterday, spring coat weather, although it rained most of the day, if it had been snow it would have been a major snow storm. At 1 am this morning when DH and I left my BILs house it was 54 degrees. It's now 23 degrees and we'll have highs in the 20s for the foreseeable future.
-
Okay - at 1 am it was about 20 degrees colder in Phoenix than in Michigan! We're looking at our 3rd night below freezing - the bouganvilla and orange tree have taken a serious beating already - we haven't even started pickiing the oranges yet - we usually just pick them as we need them. I hope my fresh orange juice isn't turning into frozen oj this year!
Stay warm everybody. I have two mostly indoor cats - one likes going out into the cold weather (for a short period of time) and the other is curled up on my son's bed and has barely moved. Certainly not going outside!
-
It looks like the rain has ended and we got .12" We wil remain above the creek for today.
-
Well, the low tonight is going to be subzero, and our heat went out a couple of hours ago. Can't get replacement part until Monday...gonna be sleeping under an electric blanket tonight. Since beginning Arimidex I not only have hot flashes but "freezing flashes" as well. BRRRRRR!!!
-
You poor thing!!!
-
Single digits in Denver yesterday and only a bit warmer today....the first real cold so far this winter,.....It was beautiful out this afternoon, but COLD!!!!
-
I have been really cold tonight, I hope it doesn't mean I'm getting sick.
-
Meece--I used to be the person who was almost never cold, now I'm cold all the time, except when I'm having a hot flash! Not sure who to blame, lupron, arimidex, age, so I just blame the beast, and put on a sweatshirt, then take it off, then put it back on then take it off. . . .
-
I look forward to hot flashes one day. Only ones I've ever had was the week after I gaev birth to #1 and once a night for 3 weeks after my last surgery. It has been over a year now. Luckily, they never came during the summer though.
-
It is 67 degrees in Tampa this morning with the highs reaching the 70's. Had some rain already and possibly a bit more later. My bouggie did not make it through the last cold spell. This spring, I plan to dig it up and put something else there. It has been through too many cold winters and it takes too long to come back. My beautiful butterfly garden is all but gone. It will come back in the spring with no problems. Plan on staying indoors and watching my New Orleans Saints today.
-
Warming up in Denver today....hubby just went for a run and said its warming up...so I checked the temp on aol weather and its 39.....20 degrees warmer already than yesterday!!!
-
love the cartoons NM! WE had a hot spell, 49 and 45 for two days, now it is 27 and snowing. Expecting 2 inches today, but I think we're at 4 already and it's still snowing. Gotta love these LES - lake effect snow, Bflo gets so much snow we have initials for it. Karen
-
We're cold today, high of 23 and a few flurries but nothing measureable thank goodness. DH and I are ready to be done with winter now
-
Karen, my sis lives in Syracuse. Mucho snow and cold. She ususally tries to make it down south for a bit in the winger.
