You are one of the team captains, Seyla!

I will have to try to undo the damage of the past few weeks - I will post weight tomorrow and I will get back to ELAB on Tuesday when I have the house more or less back to myself - I will send all the left over goodies away with DS and DD when they leave on Monday.
My mum has moved in with me 24/7 since early December and I cannot see her living independently again - this change in my life has caused some comfort/stress eating and almost a total lack of sleep!!.
Also I have the second anniversary of my dx coming up on 16th, annual mammo on 18th, and I mark 2 years post mx on 19th and to cap it all I have my first visit with PS on 24th to discuss possible reconstruction - queue more comfort/nervous eating!!
In the meantime I must see about getting a new breast form as I'm lopsided at the moment because I did have some weight loss success - hence more stress eating because I must try and find someone to sit with mum on all these occasions as all these visits are in the city and could take anything from 3hrs minimum depending on if the dr's / clinics are running on time. Oh and I just remembered dental appointment on 10th!!! Whew it's going to be a busy month - and I already have a slightly queasy feeling - does anyone else get like this coming up to anniversaries and dr visits???
Think I'll have just a little chocolate to steady my nerves!! 2011 can only get better!! Well that's my mantra anyway!!
-
Yes, I get that way. I already have at least 5 medical appointments set up for the first quarter of 2011, starting on Monday.
Glad we can add you to our 2011 team, Ainm!
-
Will join up in a few days/ Great thread !
-
Great to have you Melody! Going to put your name up in the heading, and when you weigh in, that will be up there, too.
-
We have eleven active E-Labbers and nine more we have yet to hear from. More are certainly welcome but I think maybe 4 teams?
-
I have 4 scheduled appointments starting Jan 5th.
Then i have to arrange my fathers DR's i need to go with him for couple of them because he doesn't speak English even if he did he gets so nervous he doesn't hear anything.
-
Oh, that's sad. I have a heart for elderly people.
-
Meece...What is it exactly will be doing.
-
i have a heart for anybody needs me but he is a handful. He is 85 and expects to feel like 20.
And yes he absolutely drives me nuts with his complaints every day.
-
Well Faithie wants to have teams and have a contest. We would be encouraging each other to stay on our weight loss goals. We haven't got everything worked out yet, but the weight loss starting point will be tomorrow.
-
Ok ladies, I am going to get serious in 2011. When I started this whole journey I weighed 145lbs, I now weigh 183lbs... that's 38 lbs in a year and a half
Next year my mantra is 'move more, eat less'!
Good thing I still have 5 hours and 55 minutes until 2011
-
Michelle, you have an excuse and we understand that. But we will be there to see you getting healthy and fit.
-
As of today after stuffing myself last night...
My weight is 168
Since my blood work were excellently low (lipids etc....) I will be concentrating eating the right things, walking and stay in shape and not too much about the weight lost.
I just need to go down between 159-160 and remain there.
Does this sound okay to You?
-
Sounds like a plan.
-
Lets share receipes that are healthy but tasty at the same time.
My fiber intake is very high. I think its making a big difference keeping things in order.
What do you think?
Any other ideas?
-
I have a Weight Watcher recipe program for my computer. I can enter the ingredients and how they are prepared and it give nutritional and calorie counts per serving.
My GP is really concerned about the keeping things going part of my diet. I will be going even higher fiber for awhile.
-
My GP likes the new numbers.
I never had a good HDL reading but after very high fiber intake things started to change.
Maybe one day my plumbing will be fixed too. Its much better than it was last month.
-
My plumbing does it's own thing, and the stress from the past couple months hasn't done it any favors.
-
Happy New Year. I did fairly well with small portions last night and only one glass of champagne (I was the driver so that helped keep the drink calories very low) Weight 132, clothes are tight. Can't wait to start the contest. Plumbing is very screwed up but unfortunately fiber makes my very wacky GI system totally stop!
-
Whooohooooooo. A contest!!!!!!
Members beginning to check in!!!!!!
I worked out each of five days in a row.
I undid that progress in five hours at an open buffet line last night.
Back to the treadmill first thing this morning.
I start 2011 at 141.0
Portion control.
Portion control.
Portion control.
*****And as few open-buffets as humanly possible.
[This community that we are now a part of has potlucks and open buffets at all public funtions. There's food at every gathering. I'd kinda-sorta forgotten that part of the equation here.]

Hugs to all facing anniversaries of all sorts & medical appointments.........
Edited to add the .0 after my 141........... ya just gotta love a digital scale with a decimal point!!

Sheila, what are you eating that is keeping your fiber intake so high? I don't have a problem with plumbing but still like to get more fiber. My eating is not good since I rarely cook but have been doing lots of salad bars and salmon, chicken or turkey. Need to cut back on the gluten/wheat.
-
O.k. Meece I'm checking in but I didn't weigh in this morning since I didn't get on the computer till now. I will definitely be in on this as I have gained some of my weight back that I lost and I'm not at my all time low of 148 lbs. I know that after my recent breast reconstruction the doctor won't release me to start exercising yet but after I go back to the doctor on Monday I will ask him if I can't start modifying my diet and cutting back. If I get the o.k. then I will post my weight on Tuesday.
Let's get 2011 started with a big bang and drop some pounds ladies!!! I know I still want to weigh in at 135 lbs but I'd be happy to get back to 145lbs at this point. It's all about motivation and support.
Patoo and Melody - WELCOME!!!! the more the merrier...
Renee

We're going to make this fun girls. My goal is 145.
-
Thanks Sheila. I love pears and asparagus and have been doing salads lots also so this should work. I'll set my goal as 160 - should be able to make that over the next 30+ years of my life!
Night my sisters.
-
Patoo - you are sooo funny!! If we have 30 yrs to do I think I can to... LOL
Good Night Birdies!!
Renee
-
Goodness me-oh-my....................
I'm barely in time to wish our newest team member her happiest-of-birthdays.
Glad to hear that you have goals, Patoo.
Thirty years indeed.
Let's all have 30 year goals, but perhaps they don't have to have anything to do with our weight.
Sure hope that it was grand -- from beginning to end!!!!
