Welcome my3girls/Lisa -we are glad to have anyone join at any time.  We try to hold each other accountable and weigh in on Fridays.  However, sometimes we don't do so well and I or others don't always weigh in especially if we have been bad and not stayed with our diet very well.  Sealed  Sometimes we come on here and joke, post recipes or pictures of food that are good and not so good for us to help motivate or deter us.  Whatever we need.  So glad to have you.

I weighed in on Friday morning.  I was so scared (like the new picture meece posted - I was scared I'd cry).  Well, not too bad, only up 1/2 pound although that makes me 5 pounds higher than my lowest ELAB weight.

Pmom, congrats on no muffin top!  That must feel so great.

    Welcome my 3 girls.

No more candy diet for me : D

Welcome My3Girls.  you are more than welcome to join us.  If you'd like, I can put your name up top with your startign weight, and we go from there.

I have to get serious.  We were with DS & DIL this weekend.  DS is an avid gun enthusiast with quite a collection.  We went to a shooting rnge with a variety of guns for me and DH to try out.  DS was having a blast filming my reactions to each gun.  Several of them had quite a kick and as thwey kick, my upper arms jiggled like a bowl of jello.  It was disgusting.

Jenn had mentioned that we should go for measurements not so much our weight.  Well, when I get home I plan on measuring my wings and am going to try hard to shape them up.  I just need to figure out what to do.

Way to go Faith!!! I'm with Suzette I have been off my diet a little bit and I am up some from my all time low and I haven't been drinking water (shame on me).  My weight is at 155 lbs with nothing on but my night gown.  Sealed  I also have some lower extremity swelling like about 2+ pitting edema.  That had gotten much better.  So water here I come and I've got to put down some of the diet sodas.  Help myself and others will help me.  LOL!!!!!

I have had the "plumbing" problem very bad the past week and a half.  I have been eating prunes and fiber supplements like crazy, to no avail.  Last time I weighed I was over 166.  I can tell I am retaining water too, couldn't fit in my regular pants yesterday.  I thought I could do this without the miralax, but I guess not.  I hate to rely on anything other than a normal diet.  I shoveled dirt this afternoon, and then started winterizing my garden.  No, it's not cold, but I don't want to be out there doing it in the wet and cold.  I am trying to be active, my digestion just isn't.

I weighed in at 164.6.  YUCK!!  But the plumbing has started working again, so maybe this week??

Faithie, you are always a happy camper.  I can just picture you with your polka dotted pom poms doing a cheer for E-Lab birdies!

DH gets busy after work and we don't get to eat until late.  I knw that doesn't do me any good.

Reporting a little late.  I weighed on Sunday and was up 2 pounds.  My plumbing has been acting up for the last week and a half too.  Need to drink more water and increase the miralax.  Have been having trouble exercising since the sun isn't up as early any more - that means I'm not up as early and my exercise suffers.  I do love all of you ladies and reading that I'm not the only one having trouble is helpful and actually motivates me to get back on track.  I'm with Renee - increase the water and get back on the healthy eating track!

    Hi all!

When I left on Oct 2, Sat., I was 149 #. I was 150.8# this morning, so that means I only gained 1.8# when I was gone.

Yes, I know it is not Friday, just was a bit happy that I had not gained more during my visit w/DD & grandchildren. We did go for power-walks (I did not have my Sketchers, tho, & got a blister), & running around after the little ones may have helped.

There were several times I passed on certain foods - okay, I'll say GOODIES.

    Back on track tomorrow!

Ya-hoo to faithie, love those skinny jeans & to Lisa/Paulding for fittin' into something that calls your name to wear but has been hiding. If that doesn't make sense, Lisa, it's cos it's late & I'm sleeeepy!

Meecie ~ I am going to measure my 'wings' tomorrow (will post ~ YIKES) & I will join you in flying lighter with smaller, toned wings. First up: dusting off the hand weights & finding my elastic band thingie!

Assuming right wing is the same !!!  Surprised

Lots of work to do! Walked 1 hour this morning carrying 3# weights. Have dug out the band.

    What are wingie-dingies??

Congrats Valjean, on holding steady in the face of temptations...........

We're heading into Chicago, two and a half days of eating "out"

BUT this morning I was 139.0!!!!!!

Wingie-dingies are what flaps in the breeze under our arms.  (And I don't mean underarm hair!)

They are my happy arms, the ones that keep waving, even when I stop.

That's a new low for you Faithie!!! Wheeeeeeeeee!!  It wasn't because of the stress of losing your quilts was it?  Have you heard anything about them yet?

Seyla, you are right, Valjean's arms do not hang down 13".  If they did, she surely would be able to fly.  The 13" is the measurement around that part of the arm.

When I was pregnant with DS#1, that is the major place I gained weight, and unfortunately never lost it there.  I guess I inherrited extra fat cells in my upper arms.

Thank you for the hug, Seyla.

Who ever thought that wings would cause so much excitement? I'm hoping to be able to feel confident about wearing sleeveless shirts next summer OUT of the house, instead of just inside or while working in my garden, hidden from public view.  Undecided

Faithie ~ I must have missed something, perhaps on another thread ~ you lost your quilts?

    getting late,

    good night all.

Having not been one to have much experience with plumbing until now, I have a question. When things aren't moving does it make you want to throw up when you eat. I feel like food is sitting up in my chest. I've been eating healthy and trying to keep from upchucking but it's really hard when you feel that way. I WANT MY OLD BODY BACK. DH is turned off by my sickly looking legs and arms. I lifted a light laundry basket today and walked past a mirror. Big mistake, he's right, it's gross.

I'm so proud of you ladies loosing weight the right way and the healthy way. I never thought I would be in this position.

No, I don't think I feel like throwing up.  But my back hurts a lot.

I think you ought to talk to your GP about the feeling, Paulding.  That doesn't sound right.  Perhaps you might try to drink Ensure or something like it to help keep too much weight from dropping too fast.

I know you all are probably wondering where I have been! I havent been on here much since I got back from my vacation. Helping you all has taken me to a new level. I am going to be working at a comrehensive cancer center a few mornings a week helping cancer paitents with their exercise and nutrition before I come into my job at the gym.

I am super excited to have the knowledge to help people. I am still here if anyone needs me!

When we see an ad for a SHOE THAT WILL TONE OUR BUTTS, we're all interested, right?  Well, Skechers Shape-Up toning shoes currently have two class action suits against them basically for false advertising.  Skechers experts say the shoes DO tone more than the average shoe, the American Council on Exercise, after their own study, says they don't:

"Toning shoes appear to promise a quick-and-easy fitness solution, which we realize people are always looking for," says ACE's Chief Science Officer Cedric X. Bryant, Ph.D. "Unfortunately, these shoes do not deliver the fitness or muscle toning benefits they claim. Our findings demonstrate that toning shoes are not the magic solution consumers were hoping they would be, and simply do not offer any benefits that people cannot reap through walking, running or exercising in traditional athletic shoes."
