We managed to make it to 63 degrees today but I think the wind chill kept it in the 50s.  Brrrr.  Meece, you asked about black box wine on the previous page so I looked it up online and this is the link: http://www.blackboxwines.com/the-story/

It's really pretty good, I was surprised cause I'm a bit of a wine snob.

Have a great evening everyone and stay warm!!! (or cool as the case may be in California and Florida.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes with my liver deal. They think they got the lessions and they were negative but will go back for an MRI in October to double check.  Now back to dealing with the original issue of why I got the CT scan to start with-lower back pain. It's a crazy world. As for meds. I have a little note book I write down what I took and when. So many of my new back drugs make me ditzy so if I don't write it down I'm afraid I'll screw it up.

93 here today with no breeze. Dangerous for small children to be outside. Ugh!

Send some warmth north Paulding!  Please.  We've finally made it up to 64 degrees at 3:30.  I'm so cold.

I'm glad your lesions were negative - great news. Good thinking to have a notebook to mark down your meds.  If it weren't for my pill box I would be over and undertaking all of my meds!

Home sick today with a reaction to an antibiotic for a UTI.  Sat outside with my furry children for just a few minutes this morning.  It is 88 degrees and 100% humidity.  Too hot to be out long.  There was rain all around us yestereday, but we got just a few drops.  We could use some today.  Our temps won't cool off until late November.  The search every year at this time is to find something in fall colors to wear that are made like summer clothes for work.  We still wear shorts and tank tops at home almost all winter.

We have two long seasons, Winter and Summer and two short, Spring and Fall.  Although it is beginning to feel like fall because of the coolness in the morning and the sun coming up later.

In a matter of weeks I've gone from running the air conditioner in the bedroom due to the heat and humidity to turning on the furnace becuase the living room was so cold over the weekend!  Gotta love  these extreme swings.

We had a thirty degree swing a week or so ago. Luckily it will help with our power bill.  We leave the air off until I get home from work.

We had a wonderful long, dry summer this year but we are paying the price now with a LONG, wet winter - it is still RAIN, SHOWERS, RAIN, STORM, RAIN here!  Everyone is actually getting really brassed off with it now.  Warmer though which is nice - haven't worn a woollen long sleeved top in a week or so.  Temps ranging 45 to 60 at the moment.  The trees and plants seem to think it is spring as they are all pushing out leaves or flowers but we can have cold wet weather right up until mid Dec so I never count my chickens weatherwise.

Received a wedding invitation today from one of the young teachers at my school - 15 Jan - weather should be well settled into summer by then.

I haven't been on much laptop is in the process of dying, first it won't recognize when it is plugged in part of the time and the battery dies, second the video card is starting to go, i don't have full color spectrum.

Weather wise we haven't had any major rains in 2 weeks, we had a shower on Saturday but nothing to brag about. We are now getting cool temps (60's at night) and warm temps in the afternoons (close to if not hitting 90). according to the weather service we are in a moderate drought stage.

planning to go up to the mtns today for a wonderful day of quilting with my quilt guild.

Up in the 90's today and no rain.  It was nice in the late evening when my son and I took the dogs for a walk.  This son has been clean and sobert for one year yesterday.  I'm so very blessed.

Sheila, hope your computer is fixed or that you can get a new one.  I can't survive happily without my computerFrown  Hope you had a nice day with your quilt guild.

Congratulations to your son Mary.  What a great accomplishment.

We've been in the low 40s at night and upper 60s in the day.  We've been below normal in temps all month.  Hoping it warms up again but not too hopeful for other than a few days here and there of temps in the 70s.  If it weren't for my entire family living here I'd move someplace warmer.  But, you've all heard that complaint from me too many times haven't you.

Thanks everyone.  I have 2 sons in recovery 1 with 5 years and this youngest one.  Many times I believe they understand better than most what I've gone through.  They must be vigilant always with their addiction and it never goes away. They are both doing so very well.

Today it is to reach 93 degrees with no rain.

smithlme: Elimar posted for you on middle age 40-60s!

Weather here has been so great I haven't felt the need to post on this thread cause I don't want y'all hatin' me.  We've had low 80's, with crisp mornings.  It rained a day or so last week & is supposed to start in again in a couple days, but it has been GORGEOUS!

Even though it's been in the 90s is isn't broiling so I am comfy.  DH can break a sweat drying off from a shower!  He's the one I run the AC for.

I was altering some clothes for FDIL yesterday, and she was breaking a sweat trying them on.  An I sit here at work with my sweater on.  I just don't function well below 70 degrees.

Suzette, I am hoping that this one holds out until I can get some money to get a new one, my son bought this one when he came back off his 2nd deployment and it is about 3 yrs old. He has said that when he gets his money from the VA for this semester classes he will help me get a new one since I am out of work now.

Yesterday was wonderful in Banner Elk, I got there about 10:00 am spent a wonderful day with friends sewing. I had made a zippered Bible cover that has 2 handles on it (I measured a Bible cover that my dad had worn out and made my own pattern) and showed it at one of the guild meetings and Jo wanted me to show her how I put the zipper in the cover, so that was one of my projects yesterday. I finished 2 Bible covers, got a 3rd one almost finished and cut out a quilted pocketbook. We played a game of BINGO and I won another pocketbook pattern. I was going to leave before supper, since I hadn't paid for supper but Jo wasn't feeling well and told me to go to the dining hall in her place. I left about 7:15 pm and got home just after 8:30. For it being just over 50 miles away, it took just over an hour and a half, to drive due to curvy roads.

Another hot day, temps in the lower 90's and no rain in the forecast.

    Hi Ladies,

My nightly gripe about the weather.  I'm sitting in a hotel in Gaylord, Michigan - just north of the 45th parallel and I have my heat blasting.  Rainy and 50 degrees here although it feels much colder.  I think it will get in the 30s tonight.  I hope you all have a nice and much warmer evening than I.

Thank you Mary.  I love 88 degrees.  I think I'll have to make a trip down your way this winter!  Now I'm off to bed to snuggle under the covers.  Good Night.

I have 77 degrees here in NC at 9:30. I have been turning off the air conditioner at night and opening my window to let the cooler air in. Rain is not in the forecast anywhere, we are under a fire advisory due to the dry conditions.

Maine has moved into it's typical fall pattern. Daytime temps as high as hi 70's, nights down to the 40's.  Gonna get frost some night soon, I bet.  I do like this time of year!  Apples are ready to be picked, cider is being sold, farm stands still open, GREAT stuff!

Last month when I went to my Dr. I wasn't sure we were going to make it our normal route because of a wildfire possibly closing the freeway.  Yesterday as we got halfway through the pass, there were dozens of fire crews fighting yet another wildfire.  Tis the season.

Was 88 here yesterday with a guess that it will be 93 today.

No wild fires here but pretty darn hot. 91 here today. At 5:30 AM it was 74. To warm to open the windows. At least the neighborhood pool is still open. Going to try and get down there and stretch my back a little this weekend in between football games.
