You ladies that have nice weather, I'm jealous. It has been cold here. It is to get up to high 30's today then snow tomorrow.

Bonnie glad your eyes are better.

Leggy sounds like you had a great weekend.

Hunky husbands do surprise us sometimes when we least expect it. Sounds like you had a good day.

Kelly are you still handing out girls scout cookies? Mine should be in sometime this week. YEAH!

    Have a great day,

Been a long week for me even though it was short.  Onc appt stressed me out as usual, but blood work showed no reason for scans.  My onc hates scans without cause.  Think he was more interested in my recon and all my surgeries.  Told me to schedule a pap.  Yes, oh joy!  Haven't had one of those since diagnosis.  It has been in the 30's here as well.  Still chilly enough that when I get home I sometimes just lay back on the heating pad.  You guys are girl scout cookie crazy!  LOL!  Neither my DH or myself can afford the weight gain so I just don't go there.  Bonnie, nice that your eyes are better.  Wyoming, how is your husbands tennis game coming along?  Hope you are enjoying your new TV anyway.   Bet you are sick of the tennis jokes.  OK, just don't tell him I said anything!  LOL!  Two more days of work.  We have been watching some of the Olympics.  Yes, Kelly, we were watching stretched out on our bed too.  Don't feel guilty about it!  I don't feel guilty about too many things anymore.  Karen, we watched My Sisters Keeper, and the Hurt Locker this weekend.  I had no idea what My Sisters Keeper was about (cancer movie) but it really didn't bother me at all.  I think DH was uncomfortable.  Leggy, sounds like you had some fun at the beach.  Not a big clam chowder fan myself but I can't wait for 65 degree weather.  Later to all....take care!  Keep in touch!  Vent away when needed!  HunkyD

Glad to hear things are good Bonnie

Leggy  sounds like you had a really nice weekend.

Kelly and Wyoming.. yes, I have been watching th olympics whenever I can.  Some great events...I love the figure skating...especially the mens.  They look good in their outfits and their strength is amazing.

HunkyD...sounds very romantic.  My hubby bought me a really mushy card...he said he actually read it first. LOL   I am a sucker for a mushy card.

The weekend zipped by...we are painting our kitchen.  Its a lot of work,  it is still in progress.   Not much else happening.  Enjoy your week.

Spent the morning getting all checked out for this trial.  I had to fast, ugh no tea!! Two days in a row since I had to fast part of yesterday for my MUGA and Ash Wednesday. Then EKG, lots of bloodwork and papers to sign today.  A small teary moment when my onc asked if I had spoken with the social worker in the hospital to help with my kids.  Then a discussion about possible life expectancies...  1.5 to 3 years is average, which doesn't sound so bad until I think that April is my 2 year cancerversary.  Anyway shrugged it off and had lunch with my husband and fought about how to plan for our new front porch.

I will win but just so he thinks he is winning I let him say his stuff.  And he can visualize things better than me so I will listen a tiny bit but mostly I just want a dang porch.  For the last three years I have been sitting on my stoop.  Once I rocked my chair too much and it fell off with me still inside it because it is so small.  :)   I might do the thing where you get money early from life insurance to pay for it then I will get to enjoy it.  OK back to the Olympics for me...  Kelly

Kelly, I laughed out loud when I read about you falling off the porch. I can see myself doing that. If I can make a fool of myself I usually do. But I can laugh at myself. I hope you get you porch finished so you can use it this spring and summer. I haven't talked to my onc about a time frame but if things continue as they have I feel I'm in the same time frame as you. But I try not to think about it. My canerversary is May 8th (2 years).

Karen I hate to paint so I if I can I get the hubby to do it. Sometimes it takes him forever to get started. Have you finished your kitchen yet?

Hunky, I haven't had a pap since 2007. Once I found out about my cancer and started treatment onc said I don't have to worry until I'm finished with treatment which looks like I will be doing until the end. So the good news is no PAPS. In the movie "My Sister's Keeper" the focus is on the mom and in the book the focus is on the daughters.  I liked the book better. The "Hurtlocker" is nominated as best picture. I thought it was pretty good. We had my grandson this weekend and he reminded Grandpa about breaking the TV. We laughed because his memory is so good. Hubby keeps getting the jokes.

Leggy I'm jealous that you can go to the beach. I want to live near water but where I live in Wyoming I'm far from water.

Bonnie how are you eyes doing? Does is feel funny?

Last week in school we had a spirit week and on the last day of the week we had a carnival like day with games. Each teacher had a team of students and we had competitions between each team with the events. I was so tired that I slept a lot this weekend.

     Have a good week everyone.

Kelly..So sorry to hear this from you.   I really think you should get that porch built so you can enjoy it.

Wyoming..Yes, we finished the painting on Saturday... It looks good.   Once you paint one thing the rest looks like they need a facelift.  Next will be the hallway.    My son saw the Hurt Locker and said it was really good... he is into war gaming so it was his thing.  I would like to see it as well.   I thought my Sister's keeper would be too sad, so I never watched it.  Did you cry ??   Hope you are feeling alright.

HunkyD...glad your onc appt went well.   So Pap is next.. never liked this, even after having kids, it never got easier.   Did see the new one with Gerard Butler....Law Abiding Citizen..it was pretty good.....he looked pretty good...Wink.

Bonnie ....nice to hear things are better with your eyes.

LeggyJ....California sounds so nice.   I will have to get there one day.

It is snowing like mad today.  Should be a lovely drive tomorrow.  Well off to battle the snow and take out the dogs.

    Take care

Hi, good to hear from you girls, I was beginning to get lonely!  Lately, I think I'm trying to cram as much life, into my weekends, as I can.  Spring is around the corner, and the daffodils are out!  My friend drove me out and around the Sonoma Valley, and it was nice to see the flowering fruit trees blooming.  Of course, I forgot to bring my camera....Sunday, I did housework, yardwork, and gave Wolfie a bath.  Came to work today, DAT.  Fatigue sure hangs around after chemo., doesn't it.

I am glad to see all the posts.  Just watching the Olympic ice skating and skiing here.  Our house is always very quiet since the child still at home goes to bed by 8:30.    I am jealous of your daffodil spotting Leggy.  I am very ready for spring.   Kelly

Heard the birds chirping this morning. Sounded like spring in the air. If it wasn't so cold I'd be excited. Hubby and I are going to New York City for Spring break. Has anyone been there? If so let know what to do. We have tickets to "Chicago", and of course going to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Karen, I cried when I read "My Sister's Keeper" but I knew what was coming in the movie so I didn't too much. But I'm a crier at movies. I can keep my tears in check except at movies or the cruelty to animal commercials.

Leggy you need to quit telling us about the nice fun travels it makes us jealous! LOL I'm glad you get to have such great trips and weather.

    Think Spring

I must say, I do love Calistoga!!!!  My parents moved here in 1973 when I was 17.  We moved away, here and there after about 10yrs., but always come back.

Today at work we had a motivational speaker, for all the employee's and the theme was "Make the most of every moment", and I thought of you girls.  The speaker has been here a few times, but this time she had short spiky S&P hair and seemed somewhat more subdued, than her usual hyper self.  I told her I liked her hair, and we compared cuts.  Made me wonder, but then than I bet we all do that. She played some music at the end, all these songs with lyrics about making the moment. She looked very thoughtful, as she looked over our heads and out to the valley below, but I felt like she was speaking to me.

I have not told my husband yet but we are going to have an exchange student stay with us for two months.  We have lots of extra room and I hope it will be fun for all of us.  She is from Brazil and is sponsored by my rotary group.  She needs a new home for april and may.  I think it will be good for my kids to see how other kids are brave enough to go to other countries.  I wish we could learn spanish from her but did you know they speak portugese in Brazil?

Today is sunny and high 40's so I am going to go for a walk at lunch with my husband.  Sometimes I forget to spend time with him and maybe this will help, we've been in a rocky phase just now but it feels like it is getting better.  Or maybe I am just starting to deal with this lastest setback and quit being so grumpy.  Poor guy, he didn't know what he was getting all those years ago!!!            Everyone enjoy your day,   Kelly

Kelly how exciting to have an exchange student. I always wanted to be one. Most everyone I have talk to that has had an exchange student they enjoyed them very much.  Have a great walk.

Since my diagnoses my hubby and I have actually gotten along much better. I think he realized how important I am to his life. HAHAHA. We both realized that we need to live in the moment and not let the little stuff get to us.

    Have a good one.

Hi Everyone!  Nice new pic Wyoming!  Never been to New York.  Hope you have a marvelous time.  Ya'll are my favorites.  The courage and strength of the women on this bco board is so amazing.  We decided last night that we are going to try and take a trip somewhere this summer whether I have the time off or not.  I can take leave without pay.  I need an escape.  Woke up this morning to 3 inches of snow which is not a lot for this area but it is sure depressing anyway to have to lock in to 4 wheel drive the end of Feb.  Oh well, can't control the weather. Have one movie to watch called Everybodys Fine.  Don't even know what it's about.  Am waiting for Old Dogs, and the movie 2012 to come out next week.  Kelly, hope you get your porch.  Sounds so calming to me.  Oh, by the way Wyoming....all my joking around about your Tennis Tragedy and the TV came back at me.  The LCD TV my son bought me 2 years ago for our bedroom when I was DX blew up last night!  I was not amused!  It was a Vizio....the warranty was for one year and it would have cost more to fix than get a new one.......sooooo, you know what.....I am not going to tease you anymore about your TV!  LOL!  Bonnie, Kathy, Leggy....its gettting closer to the weekend.  Hope you are all feeling ok!  Take care my chemo clan!  XXOO HD

Thanks for the saying you like my new picture. I have no hair now and wanted to remember what it was like. LOL. I will get an updated one soon.

Hunky, I'm not going to say anything about you TV in case it comes back to haunt me. I did laugh when I read you post. sorry. Hunky any idea where you might go for your trip? I love to travel.

We woke up to snow but it is to get up to 40 today so it will be gone. Not as nice as you Leggy.

Having the grand babies and their parents over for dinner tonight. It will be a loud fun time.

    Have a good day

Kat  thank you for the nice complement.

Hunky keep us updated on your trip plans.  I love to live vicariously through others...

Leggy, you'll be sorry to tell us about your nice weather when we all show up on your doorstep.

Wyoming, I am sorry your hair had to go while it is cold.  It feels worse in the winter I think.

It has started to snow here and is cold.  I picked up all my meds today and will start xeloda and tykerb in the morning.  Tonight I am going out for dinner with girlfriends and that way if I can't eat tomorrow I won't be starving.

By the way I got my letter from the onc today and will be sending it in tomorrow for my life insurance claim.  I wonder how long it will take?  Everyone is so nice at the onc's office that I hate being sick when I am there because I want to visit with everyone. Lucky for me I have not had too many really miserable days. I think I am deprived of adult companionship since I am not working.  :)   My daughter is off school tomorrow so we will be knee deep in crafts and puzzles, hopefully not knee deep in snow!    Get ready for the weekend, what is everyone doing?   Kelly

Wyoming, hair is over rated. My hair sucks big time, so I started using Rogaine.  Thank goodness, I like hats.

No plans for the weekend, I'm going to rest.  DAT!!!!

    hello,

It's been so long since I logged in, that I dont know if anyone remembers me. I've read most of your updates and you all sound so great!

Kelly I'm sorry about your mets getting worse.  I'm with you on that trip! I never got to have kids, which I regret, but I dont envy your worry about the future for them. Soak up their love everyday you can.

I'm also on Xeloda, but not the other meds. My mets stabilized for a while last year, but now are expnading throughout my thoracic region. It's strange but I always thought that it would be the mets to major organs that would be scary, but these lymph nodes are so close to major arteries and the heart that they seem to be winning the battle at the moment.

Hunky, Wyoming, Bonnie, Karen, Leggy; you all are so positive and uplifting everytime I read your posts.  I am going to login more often to post things myself. Even though none of you knew I was reading, you all kept my spirits up this past year. Thank you.

    hugs to all, chocolate

Chocolatelover glad to see you are back on here again, I always wondered what happened to you if you were just to busy or maybe away on holidays.

Kelly glad to hear that you will probably get your new porch, won't be long and everyone will be complaining about how hot it is, time goes so fast. You just sit out there and soak up all those nice sun rays (when they come).

Wyoming your picture is very nice, red is definitely your color.  Are you still working or did you just say to heck with it and taking life easy?  Will be nice to spend time with your kids and grandkids, they are always so much fun.

LeggyJ yes sometimes I have to agree with you that hair is overrated, mine just does what it wants to do and that's it, sometimes I get mad and threaten to shave it all off again ( but I don't really think so.  Have a nice restful weekend.

HunkyD I am sorry to hear about your TV blowing up, sure hope you can get a new one.  They always make things so you can not fix them you have to replace them and it makes me so mad sometimes. My husband has a tendency to believe he can fix anything but I think with some new things that are out he is starting to maybe consider that he can not fix everything, though he sure does try.

Karen have fun in the snow with your dogs lol, I have to take out my dog today also but at least I only have rain to contend with. I know what snow is all about as I used to live in Alberta and they get all kinds of snow and very cold temperatures, that was one of the reasons we moved back to Vancouver island again.

Well everyone I should go and get this house cleaned up, I was in Vancouver for a couple of days visiting a girlfriend that I have known since I was about 2 yrs. old. We had a lot of fun and talked non stop the whole time. We had a lot to catch up on. So now I must go and talk to you guys later love you all.

Chocolate glad to hear from you. Keep reading and posting.

Bonnie had you had a chance to see any of the Olympics?  My best friend, Becky, we have known each other for over 31 years. It is so special  to have a friend for so long. I'm glad you had a chance to see yours. I'm still working, but my school has a 4.5 day week. Makes it much easier. I do take every opportunity to spend time with daughters and grand babies.

Kelly how often do have to take your meds? Do you have to have any treatments intravenous? I hope you don't have any problems with you life insurance company. What kind of crafts did you do with your daughter?

I'm going to rearrange my living room furniture, pay bills, do taxes, and laundry this weekend. Then on Sunday do nothing.

    Everyone have a great weekend.

Welcome back Chocolate! Don't lag on us...keep on posting.  Not many of us post anymore, but we seem to humor each other or at least lend an ear or shoulder for support.

Tonight, we are watching a movie right now and on pause while husband is in the rest area!  It is called Everythings Fine.  Always have liked Robert Deniro.  Dvds are wonderful as you can pause and do what you need to do.  Nightgown on...and yes Bonnie...new TV upstairs.  Hope all of you are fairing well... Congratulations to you Canada Gals on Canada winning the gold in hockey. Just finished watching the game. It was a good one. Filed my income tax and we don't owe but get a little back, will use in New York.

I'm  finishing laundry then taking the rest of the day easy. I'm in sweats and sweatshirt that is too big but soft and warm.

Have a good week. Looks like March is coming in like a lamb here.

    Glad everyone is enjoying themselves.

CholcolateLover..glad to hear from you, I always wondered what you were up to.

Kelly...hope you are s/e free with the medications and I always enjoy my times out with my friends.  We plan on a coffee date and it ends up with having dinner instead.

Wyoming...I also think red is nice on you.  Sorry to read that you are dealing with the hair loss but I agree with Bonnie...it now has a mind of its own.

HunkyD...how was the movie??  I didn't get to watch one this weekend.

Bonnie... glad to hear from you.  Did you go o see any of the Olympics.  It was nice to see Canada win so many golds this time.

Well,  I am on my way to soak in the bath.  We are planning on putting in laminate flooring in two weeks.. so I helped my hubby stack up the boxes and man what a workout...my arms feel like lead today.   Went to a stag and doe last night and they had goldfish races.   It was a round robin and can you beleive my fish (Lucky #3) won and I won 1/2 the jackpot..80 dollars.  So, it was drinks on me after that.   It was a riot. Got home at 2 so now I am DAT.

Have a good week my Junies.  Enjoy the days.

Hi everyone,  sorry to say I didn't get to see any of the Olympics. I went over to visit my friend in Vancouver and we had full intension's of going to see some of the Olympics but it was pouring rain and I mean it was really coming down so we decided to just go shopping instead. The next day I came home and guess what the sun came out, figures that would happen.

Hope you all have a good week or even just a good day tomorrow. Take Care
